Job 36

1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,

2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.

7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.

18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.

19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.

20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.

21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.

22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.

25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.

26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:

28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.

29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?

30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.

31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.

  1. There are two verses that stood out to me in this chapter, verse 13 MSG says “Angry people without God pile grievance upon grievance, always blaming others for their troubles.” When going through times of trouble, it is hard to imagine what one does without God. It is sad to think that they have no hope or they don’t know who they can call upon. It is my prayer that all of my little Sovereign Soldiers know that no matter where they are, no matter what they are going through that they know that there is a God who loves them and hears them when they call upon His mighty name. Psalm 4:3 AMP says “But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself [and dealt wonderfully with] the godly man [the one of honorable character and moral courage—the one who does right]. The Lord hears and responds when I call to Him.”

The second verse is verse 26 MSG “Take a long, hard look. See how great he is—infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out!” I will never look at a water bottle cap ever the same again after Rev. Emory’s message. Ephesians 1:15-17 NLT is captioned and says Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom: “Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere,[a] I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom[b] and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.”

  2. 22. Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him?

    23. No one can tell him what to do, or say to him, ‘You have done wrong.’

    24. Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise.

    26. Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted. NLT

A friendly reminder we could all use from time to time.

  3. ““Take a long, hard look. See how great he is—infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out!”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭36:26‬ ‭MSG‬‬

From what my brain can comprehend Jesus, You consume me. You are amazing and magnificent! Wonderful and glorious! You are such a great God!

  4. “Just one more verse.”
    -Rev Emory
I will go above and beyond to seek and learn about God. To learn something new about God every single day. It never ending and as soon as i learn i want to share the word, i wanna share the love for God. I will always give God the glory!
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

  5. For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.

  7. Amplified Version Job 36:5
    “Behold, God is mighty, and yet does not despise anyone [nor regard any as trivial];

There is nothing too big nor too small for God. He regards no one as trivial. Each as His own. He came to save You. Though you walk through the trials of life ,though you think He does not hear your voice He does. Be still , be reminded He is Mighty,He is faithful. You may think He has forgotten you ohhhhh He has not, watch and see what unfolds before you. Be faithful,be patient, serve with all your heart.GOD IS MIGHTY! His word says he knows how many hairs on your head and if he knows this surely your needs are well known to Him!
Job was being tried but it did not make His God small . Job knew God yet just a reminder from a friend how great God is. God is mighty!

  8. ““Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him? No one can tell him what to do, or say to him, ‘You have done wrong.’ Instead, glorify his mighty works, singing songs of praise.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭36:22-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We serve the Almighty God. No one can compare to him.

“Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD! Sing to the LORD; praise his name. Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the LORD! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭96:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  9. Job 36:15 (AMPC)
15 He delivers the afflicted in their affliction and opens their ears [to His voice] in adversity.

Suffering is necessary. Jesus said if we suffer with him we will reign with him. Paul said that our sufferings pale in comparison to the future glory, and that our knowing him is connected with sharing in his sufferings. Moses chose to suffer rather than enjoy the pleasure of sin for a season, and Christ endured the sufferings for the prize set before him.

Suffering does not seem good but it works out for our good.

    2 Corinthians 1:7 (KJV Strong’s)
7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

  10. 11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

God’s Commandments come with a promise. if we obey him and serve him he will give us prosperity and blessing but if we do not obey we will perish by the sword. God lays it out very clear for all of us to obey means life to disobey means death the choice is ours. as for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

  11. He does not let the wicked live but gives justice to the afflicted.
    (7) He never takes his eyes off the innocent, but he sets them on thrones with kings and exalts them forever. Job 36: 6,7

  12. 22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

God is our teacher he is the best teacher you could ever have he teach us in way that no thing on earth can. God is the ture wisdom he made the heaven is earth and he made everything in it all wisdom and knowledge comes from god

  13. iLove to Go Blog

13For the godless are full of resentment.
    Even when he punishes them,
they refuse to cry out to him for help.
14They die when they are young,
after wasting their lives in immoral living.
15But by means of their suffering, he rescues those who suffer.
For he gets their attention through adversity.

Wow, Job really gets an ear full today from his friend. The friend is basically implying that Job is full of resentment and God is trying to get his attention through this adversity. The friend later goes on to say 21Be on guard! Turn back from evil, for God sent this suffering to keep you from a life of evil.

Wow, folks trying to help Job but all they are doing is accusing him. That’s not help, that’s being an accuser of the brother.

We must always be careful not to judge folks.

  14. Job 36:26 (MSG)
“Take a long, hard look. See how great he is – infinite, greater than anything you could ever imagine or figure out.”
    AMEN!

God is infinite. He is without limits.
    He’s all knowing – Omniscient
He is all powerful – Omnipotent
    He is everywhere – Omnipresent

What a Great God we serve.

  15. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

I several a mighty God. When we allow him to work on our behalf, nothing is impossible. I put my trust in the God Almighty. The only true ruler over this great earth.

  16. 7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.

    8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;

Even the righteous have to choose to be that way. Righteous people are not predestined to be righteous, it’s in their choices. When they fall and God shows them where they fell, they have a choice to repent, rise above the sin, submit to God again or to continue in sin.

  17. 11 “If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives. All their years will be pleasant. (NLT)

Simple enough, right? Listening and obedience will give us blessings and long lives. The problem is pride. Forgive me Lord of all my prideful ways. JESUS today YOU will SAVE me!

  18. Undiluted Truth

    4. …Trust me, I’m giving you undiluted truth…

Lying can bail us out of awkward situations. Spare the feelings of others. Preserve or strengthen relationships. Enhance social standing. Keep us out of trouble. Even save our lives. It is also rather easy. I seen a news program about a gorilla that learned sign language. This gorilla had human contact every day and learned how to communicate with humans through sign language. Koko even had a kitten as a pet. At some point, Koko destroyed a sink. When asked what happened to the sink Koko replied the cat did it.

No one taught Koko to lie. We do not teach our children to lie. Why then is lying so easily learned and difficult for some people to leave alone. Most Christians are “Christianized” enough to not tell big bold lies. We know better. It is morally wrong to not tell the truth. There are other forms of lying other than willfully altering the truth. For example, avoidance of the truth is one of those forms of deceit we need to give consideration.

James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Most God-fearing Christians know better than to tell blatant, obvious lies. The bigger temptation for us is when we fall into the gray area of lying, where it is not black or white. It is where we spin, alter, or avoid the truth. We have a name for this; it is called little white lies.

To take away from the truth is not telling the whole truth. To intentionally leave out parts of the truth, when we know better, can be motivated by fear rather than a love for the other person who needs to hear the truth. To exaggerate the truth is also to lie. This is taking the truth and adding more to it. To spin things for impact or to make ourselves look better than we really are comes from a deceitful heart. Avoiding the truth is evasive, dishonest and lying.

Galatians 4:16 Have I then become your enemy by telling you the truth?

  19. GO IN BLESSING

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

The apostle James powerfully communicates to us the fact of FAITH

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

To say that we believe is notable to demonstrate we believe is powerful. The promises of GOD all hinge on our FAITH in HIM, His WORD and His SPIRIT.

The PROPHESIES and PROMISES of GOD all hinge on our FAITH in them. Our willingness to OBEY the WORD of GOD and SERVE JESUS as our SAVIOR through serving in HIS Kingdom through HIS body the Church.

The SPIRIT of the LORD spoke powerfully to us on Sunday, January 22, 2017 during the 10am service that we are entering into 7 years of plenteous. To receive this WORD and promised BLESSING we must GO in FAITH and WORK in HOPE and GOD will bring it to pass.

  20. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

God loves us all and knows what we can be and do through him. He sees our end from our beginning and has a plan for us if we will seek & find him and obey his word. It’s his love, mercy & grace that brings the sinner to him. Todays prayer above in 30 Days of Prayer says to intercede for souls to be delivered from bondages and strongholds and this is the work of the church-plus to welcome in all the Lord calls to him. He will change and shape and mold as we hear and apply his word to our lives. He is the mighty God!

  21. 15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.

We serve a righteous God! His ear are inclined to us when we cry out!

  22. 10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

  23. 36:26
In a beautiful passage on the power and greatness of God Eilhu lists the marvels of nature as tokens of God’s might raindrops36-27 thunderstorms

  24. 10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

Turn away from your sins serve God with all your heart. You will love a blessed life! Who wants to live a cursed life with a first class ticket too Hell? Count me out! OK going to do whatever it takes to be save me and my family.

  25. MSG – 22-25 “Do you have any idea how powerful God is?
Have you ever heard of a teacher like him?
Has anyone ever had to tell him what to do,
or correct him, saying, ‘You did that all wrong!’?
Remember, then, to praise his workmanship,
which is so often celebrated in song.
    Everybody sees it;
nobody is too far away to see it.

We all need someone like Elihu in our lives showing us what is clouded by our circumstances at the current time.

An idle minds the devils workshop is an old saying, but is still very true. When we are not occupied thinking on whatsoever things are true, just of good report, we find ourselves dwelling on things that cloud our vision of what God wants us to see.

We must put on the mind of Christ EVERYDAY, and through HIS word be the overcomer He wants us to be. Is it always easy? No, but He is our fortress and our strength a very present help in the time of trouble. When we feel ourselves slipping into the attitude of “pity me” we need to shake ourselves and think on His goodness.

  26. The trials Job is facing in Elihus time marked God’s judgment upon a person. So here he assumes incorrectly but makes a good point. When we are down and afflicted in our trial we cannot turn away from God. It’s amazing how much sin may sound good when everything else hurts. Their may be temporary comfort in things this world has to offer. If we accept the trail God has given then we can grow. Lentil soup may have only filled Essau up for a night but inheritance lasted a life time. When we see a trial we can look forward to what God is doing in the long run if we don’t give in to temptaion.

  27. 13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.

14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.

15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.

Nobody is perfect I thank God for mercy and grace. God knows we are sinners and spite of our troubles he’s there for us he doesn’t leave you or forsake you. It’s up to us to move forward, we know hypocrisy is everywhere and it likes company don’t allow it to take your joy away. Pray and bless those who hurt you don’t give room for the enemy to get in your mind. It’s not worth it because God is our only judge nobody should be judging you it’s not anybody’s concern about what God is doing in your life.

  28. 11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
this verse reminds me of the song “It’s a good life living for the Lord”
“It’s a good life living for the Lord. And it’s so wonderful just knowing my reward. Every day His precious love I can’t afford. It’s a good life living, I’m so glad to be a living, it’s a good life living for the Lord.”

  29. In this scripture it makes one think how must I (Myself) be disobeying God? I know, there is a blessing in obedience. So, listen and obey! This just like what Mother Mary to the disciples with the wine pots. She said, what ever my Son says do it! Some must just do it! This was prior to Mountain Dew, “So just do it”. Not do the dew!

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

    “Be Blessed”…………

  30. 10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

  31. If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment. But if they do not listen, they will perish by the sword and die without knowledge.
    Job 36:11‭-‬12 NIV

As humans it is sometimes hard to obey things that we might not understand which is why we need to get to know His word and His cammands because we will benefit greatly when we obey Him and serve Him. I don’t want to perish for lack of knowledge, we must Go deeper in His Word.

  32. 11 “If they hear and serve Him,
They will end their days in prosperity
And their years in pleasantness and joy.

Want to live a happy and joyful life?
    Live for God!

  33. 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

Our God is incomprehensible, we can never know him completely. We can have a little knowledge about Him by being in the word daily, but we will never know enough to answer all of life’s questions. We must continually GO to God for fresh insights and new knowledge of Him!!
Thank you bro. Emory for giving us a deeper revelation of this.

  34. 10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

What a blessing for us if we obey the word of God. The Lord is a God of truth His promises are real.

  35. v24 ” Remember to magnify His work, of which men have sung.

JESUS’ mighty works produced ample reason to believe in HIS DEITY.

  36. 5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
Thank you Lord for blessing me after my repentance. God is just in judgment and kind in forgiveness. Even when I thought all was well He searched me out and offered Himself for me. When I think I’ve made the right decisions He takes over and shows me the right path.

  37. 4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.

Gods words are the truest and purest of all things. The only way is the the way through him. The Bible is the word that we need to clothe our self with

  38. Our God is mighty. In him there is strength. When you become a child of God, you are seen as a threat to the enemy. He will do everything in his power to bring you down. With God, we can overcome everything the enemy throws our way.

  39. 26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.

This scriptures reminded me of Pastor Sam Emory. When he said we can take all the knowledge we have of God and place it in the cap of a water bottle. It makes me greatful and hungry to dig into the word of God to learn more. Daily I GObto the Word and it helps me GROW!

  40. 10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

God is constantly calling his children to him. His will is that none should perish but that all come to repentance. We should pray that God’s children answer the call to return from their iniquity and back to the Lord.

  41. So who needs the word of God ?

9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.

10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

If you never hear the word of God you couldn’t possibly do what it says, right? But those who refuse the instruction of the lord they be as verse 12 ct off by the sword and die without knowledge. I think I’ll stick with the word and be as verse 11 and spend my days in prosperity and years in pleasure.

  42. Job 36:5 Behold,God is mighty, and despised not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.

Psalm 99 The Holiness of God
The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble: he sitteth between the cherubims; let the earth be moved. The Lord is great in Zion; and he is high above all the people. Let them Praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

  43. “Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle? Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance. With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭36:29-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  44. 22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?

Who else can teach us like Him….this is why it’s so important to always do the basics (word, fast, and pray). Without these how can the Lord teach us what He wants us to learn. At all times we should be searching for God and thank Him for the small things!!!! Thank Him for His grace, being awake another day, having health, and so many more things that at times we take for granted. Lord help me be on FIRE ALWAYS for your kingdom. Who else can show me, teach me, love me, discipline me like you Lord??? I want you to show me and teach me things on a daily basis…..I never want to stop growing Lord!!!!

  45. Job 36-10-11 today’s English amp Bible he also open’s their ears to instruction and discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity. 36 -11 if they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness and joy. It joy to obey and serve a great God .

  46. 32He fills his hands with lightning bolts and hurls each at its target.
33The thunder announces his presence; the storm announces his indignant anger.

Thunder and lightning, God’s mighty show of power. Since man has been around, we have yet been able to control storms. Man has always revered the power of storms, whether it be thunderstorms, blizzards or hurricanes. Man can only prepare and take cover.

  47. 2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.

Why do we thing that Jesus needs is to tell His people what He thinks it says? If he hung the stars and moon, shouldn’t He also be able to speak to someone???

We must be very cautious of how we speak to others, because if we do not speak what Jesus’s word days, and what he is telling us, we are condemning ourselves….

  48. Job 36:24-26 Remember to extol his work, which people have praised in song. All humanity has seen it; mortals gaze on it from afar. How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out.

    How Great, Is Our God!

The only word that can completely describe Him is his name, Jesus! He is so great beyond our understanding. This 3lbs mass of grey matter can even begin to fathom our Gods greatness.

Yet it pleases him when a sinned comes repentance. We should humbled that such a great and powerful being would even think about us.

Blessed beyond measure to know Jesus!

  49. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.(Job 36:3 KJV)

Knowledge can be taught in schools and classrooms everywhere. They won’t each teach the same curriculum but the objective is the same to educate students.
