Job 42

1 Then Job answered the Lord, and said,

2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job.

10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.

15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.

17 So Job died, being old and full of days.

  1. A portion of verses 1-6 in MSG says “…..I babbled on about things far beyond me,….”. We (people) tend to do that when we don’t understand something or try to explain it through our own understanding. Job came to a revelation firsthand about the awesomeness of God and this began his repentance and restoration.

The rest of the chapter speaks about how God restored Job and called him friend, as a portion of verses 7-8 MSG says “not the way my friend Job has”. John 15:14-17 AMP says “You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father. You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you. This [is what] I command you: that you love and unselfishly seek the best for one another.”

  2. This passage makes my heart swell with joy. I know so many people going through absolute tragedy and reading how God provided for Job more abundantly than before, it makes me excited to think what he has in store for my brothers and sisters in the Church.

I know there have been times I haven’t always said the right thing. Lord, help me to always be an encouragement to those around me. Help me to lead into guide those around me in a godly way. And when I don’t know what to say and I loving and encouraging fashion I would encourage people in you Lord let me learn to just keep my mouth shut. Hallelujah thank you Jesus

  3. “Then Job replied to the LORD: “I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. You said, ‘Listen and I will speak! I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.’ I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.””
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭42:1-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Job was humble. He was completely honest, made no excuses and repented before the Lord. And the Lord gave him a double blessing.

  4. I had only heard about you beford, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
    Job42:5 (NLT)

The trials and tribulations of our faith allow us to know the Lord in a deeper level.
Thank you Jesus for the trials in my short life I have known you more as My Savior, Redeemer , healer, provider,my rock , Fortress , strong tower, deliverer…

  5. 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
I’m so glad after reading for the last 41 chapters That job’s captivity has been turned. What I’m also glad about is that Job did not allow himself to be bitter about his friends. Instead he prayed for them. I believe that because of his prayers he pleased God and prevented himself from getting bitter about how they treated him. and the end of Jobs days are twice as good as the beginning.

  6. iLove to Go Blog

12So the lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. 13He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters.

You can’t out give God. He knows where you are and knows each and every sacrifice that we have given. He is the King of Glory and He is the Merciful Judge. Anything that God allows the enemy to take from us, God will replace with double. Double for your Trouble

  7. 3 You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. (NLT)

Busted and cornered, Job realizes his ignorance and repents before the Lord rather than continuing to try and defend himself. Job realized his mistakes, accepted them and humbled himself.

  8. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me. I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.” So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.” When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before! So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. For now he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 teams of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.
    Job 42:3‭, ‬6‭-‬6‭, ‬8‭, ‬10‭-‬10‭, ‬12 NLT

Because job repentant confessions his sin GOD FORGAVE His and gave his back all that and more u see you might go though trials in Test. But when you pass that test there always a blessing that come out of it .
Never doubt or question God. He know what he is doing and he know what best

  9. GO REPENT

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

Knowing GOD naturally produces conviction. Conviction is the guilt of disobedience toward the knowledge or nature of GOD The confession of Job toward GOD is the attractor of GOD to the deliverance and releasing of the season of captivity over his life. Considering Job was affected in his FAMILY, FINANCES and FAITH.

The questions of Job profited him nothing, however the confession and repentance of Job profited him everything and MORE. Let us be wise and take today to discern and search our hearts to see if there is any matter that we should repent over. That the season of testing or proving our FAITH will be completed.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  10. Go in Understanding

3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.

Wow… I have been in this place before. When you stick your foot in your mouth because you do not understand what God is doing. lol Let us go in understanding today. For He is working on our behalf even when it looks like He’s not there.

He knows all, sees all, and cares for us all. So, let us not look at our situations or our life from a shallow view point but through spiritual eyes. May God open the windows of our understanding, to see we are beyond blessed and that there will be VICTORY after this.

  11. Job 42:6 (NLT)
    6 I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

Following the same pattern as Genesis, once sin is confessed then the conversation ends. With Adam and Eve they were given a judgment, or curse because of their actions.

But Job added a second step. He confessed and then repented in ashes. He beheld the awesomeness that is almighty God, and it rendered him speechless.

We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But we choose how that sin will be dealt with by our attitude to its exposure.

King Saul tried to save face in front of the people, and it cost him his walk with God.
King David repented, and though he was punished he was still accepted in the end.

It matters to God how we handle our guilt.

  12. The progress of wisdom

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

The journey to wisdom can be a lengthy journey. I believe we have to start with knowledge. Knowledge is merely information. Understanding knowledge produces insight. We can read things and not understand. Some things we read is not meant for understanding or insight. The next step towards wisdom is application of the newly gained insight. Applying insight produces experience. Without experience we have no firsthand knowledge, understanding or insight of how to apply information. Experience leads to wisdom.

Job followed this path. His culmination of experience was finally realized when God spoke and rebuked him. I believe Job was a wise man to start with. However, we have learned he had never been tested to this extreme before; thus the journey to a new level of wisdom.

  13. 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

The beauty of revelation…when things open in your mind that you didnt see before. the Word says that the Lord loves and broken and contrite heart. God accepted his offering bc he was broken and repented. while the other laid hold to pride so strongly on their own righteous hearts that they could not see what they were doing was wrong; Job had to pray for them to be forgiven.

what makes us so much more blessed in this is that Job didnt have the word of God like we do to get him through trials like that, he didnt have a book of “Job” to read to encourage him and let him know things will be ok. He just had his faith and his relationship with God. We NEED the word to get us through but our relationship with God is all the more vital.

  14. Job 42:14
And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.

Jemima means day by day (also warm)
Kezia translates to a spice similar to cinnamon but usually stronger and spicier (cassia)
Kerenhappuch translates to antimony which is defined as an unresolved conflict or contradiction

It names jobs daughters and gives us a little information about them, which is odd because the Bible usually lists the sons. But job gave his daughter some inheritance along with their brothers. It sounds to me like he named his daughters after his experience with losing everything, never forgetting his experience and letting it live on in the names of his children.

  15. Gods Tax Return

Job was faithful, Job held on.

Job was not willing to let go of his faith and Gid rewarded him greatly.

After the unexpected death of my daughter God gave us a spiritual daughter oa young woman from Ethiopia , her name was Jemima, who had lost her baby and her husband . We shared our pain and she received the Holy Ghost. No not a coincidence but a God given blessing. Hold on to your faith no matter what trials come your way they will not destroy you if you will stay close to the One who is always there He Is Always Faithful!

14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch

And now God gave me Jackson………my first spiritual child after the loss of my husband. God is faithful.

  16. An after thought,if you are going through a trial, remember birthing children takes time and the process of birth is painful. So in the midst of your fiery trial see what God is trying to birth through you. How much is a soul worth?

  17. 0 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

    17 So Job died

  18. 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

I believe that there was one more test Job had to pass. Could he forgive and pray for those that had wronged him? It takes a special kind of strength to turn the other cheek and forgive when you’ve been hurt by the ones you love but as we can see, it truly pleases God! Lord help us to forgive others as you have forgiven us!

We must use Job as an example, when your faith is greatly tested withstand the storm and trust in God, you will come out stronger than before!!

  19. 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:
17 So Job died, being old and full of days.
The Lord Forgives and the Lord Gives
    God bless you all.

  20. 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

How far are you willing to go for your blessings?

Think of the greatest blessings you’ve gotten in your life. Now double it. What would you go through for it? Now even in today’s terms Job was greatly blessed. But if he would have known what was going to happen. What would his response be through the test? All I can say is keep on praising God for we don’t know what the blessing will be in the end.

  21. Job humbled himself before the Lord and repented and He accepted him, but he instructed his friends to offer a sacrifice and have Job pray for them. I believe this kept him from having an I told you so attitude as well as preventing him from being bitter. Part of turning Job’s situation around was found in praying for them. Can we pray for those who have despitefully used us? Can we be for those who have hurt us deeply? God shows us in Job that ‘Yes We Can’!

  22. 10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.

Praise God!!!! Job was faithful and honest despite the pain, hurt, sorrows that happened in his life and the Lord saw all that and blessed Him. No matter where we are in life, pain, etc. We serve a might God that deserves all the glory and honor!!!! Nothing is impossible for God and He will bless those that are truly honest and faithful to Him!!!

  23. Job 42:10 (NLT)
“When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored (to bring back, reinstate, return) his fortunes. In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before.”

This scripture spoke to me this morning. With all that Jim and I are going through, the LORD has spoken to my heart to “put my own problems aside, and start praying for others who are going through things.” I believe that HE will take care of me and bless me.

    Thank You JESUS!

  24. 42:1-6. job responds to Gods self revelations with utter humility. Now that he has seen God rather than simply heard of him Job senses his own Limitations I despise myself and no longer questions or challenges Gods justice

  25. 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job

This was an amazing study, God restored everything to Job and multiplied it, His three friends who were so sure all the advice and accusing Job was right, God said you said; No you said the wrong thing about me, but Job has said the right thing, but humility caused them to go and do as the Lord commanded, they had to give burnt offerings and the man that they said was a sinner and needed to repent would be the one to pray for them. We cant assume what another person is going through. Trials are meant to build character, a stronger relationship with God and a stronger prayer life and drive us to the word of God. Just because we are going through something doesn’t mean we sinned, or are even in a bad place! But when we say God use me, God I love you , God ill do anything for you! God is going to make sure that we can do what needs be done!
WOW, THIS WAS GOOD THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR WORD!

  26. 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

Don’t ever think that people that cause discord and disunity are getting by with what they say. The Lord knows every word that is spoken out of our mouths and we will all give an account one day for those words: good, bad or ugly.

Oh be careful little mouth what you say ………. Jesus is listening.

  27. 1 Then Job replied to the LORD:
2 “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.
4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’
5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.
6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” NIV
I am sure if we are honest with ourselves that we have questioned things that was none of our business. I want to do what is right and listen to the voice of God. God help us when we start talking about things when we don’t have a clue as to what is going on.

  28. 7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

It is so true; when they say the the tongue is a two edged sword. I have blessed and cursed with mine before. Now I’m very careful and leery about what I say; also about whom I say it to. I have to repent daily for my mouth; a lot of which is from my past life. I have gotten better through God being in me: It is and always will be in me; now it is up to me to put in the work to curb my tongue and mouth from cursing……..Thank you Jesus…..Amen!!!!

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Matt. 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

  29. 8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

  30. After the Lord had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has. So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.” So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the Lord commanded them, and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.
    Job 42:7‭-‬9 NLT

If we just stay the course and follow Jesus and His commandments through the trials and storms the Lord will bring those who criticized and ridiculed us in our hard times and then they will ask us for help and prayers. God is a Just God.

  31. 15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

Job gave his daughters inheritance. Most times in The Word, the sons are the ones getting the inheritance, and we see that they did too but, for all the guys that think that the hr guys get all the inheritance, it’s not that way.
Job a righteous man, gave to his girls too.

In the New Testament, we also see this in Acts, when the Holy Ghost was poured out on everyone in the upper room. The Holy Ghost was and still is a great inheritance from Jesus, for us that we might get the help we need, that we might spend eternity with him…

  32. “I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭42:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Although we all have a purpose in God, if we fall into sin he can always find another to take our spot. We cannot hinder, or stop God’s plans.

  33. Jesus loves me oh yes he does for he or she in the world, but in this world somebody once told me nobodys perfect thats how God made us he died on the cross to help us live on earth for every person a man, a woman & child. Amen in Jesus name!

  34. 0 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Job was FAITHFUL to God and God was faithful to Job! Job didn’t allow the his friends to talk him into not serving God but he did the exact opposite. Job serve God all the days of his life. God gave him back everything he lost and ended up with way more then what he had in the beginning. This is so encouraging to me because although we don’t know what God is doing and what his plan is we should trust him. God work in mysterious ways!

  35. 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.
Count your blessings. God is omniscient. He rewards your faithfulness. God rewarded Job for his faith in Him. He gave Job more than he had before and then allowed him to live long and see his family prosper. What a day that will be when my Jesus I will see.

  36. Job 42 -12 today’s English amp Bible it saids and the Lord blessed the latter days of job more than his beginning; for he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female dokeys, job (1:3). Job was a faithful servant to God , he sure was blessed.

  37. 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM GOD!!! YOU are so merciful JESUS!!!

  38. 5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee

Too many times we put God in a box and think of him as little. He’s not just words on a page or rules to follow. He’s so much more. God can do anything. If we never have revelation of who he is we cannot value him fully in our relationship. It’s not until debt, sickness, sin, bondage, trials and tribulations arise that we can ultimately know that God is our healer, protector, provider, deliverer, redeemer etc. This is why we have to walk by faith and not by sight trusting in God.

  39. 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

The Lord always bless us when we care and pray for others!

  40. Your blessing is on the way. You may be experiencing different trials in your life, but as long as you don’t give up God’s got a blessing for you.

  41. 12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

Here we see the end of Job’s story. Job in the beginning was a blessed that had it all taken away from him. From anyone’s standards, his situation seemed hopeless. Even the faithful Job wondered why all this calamity and trouble was coming to him. But Job didn’t see the whole story, he didn’t see what God had in store for him. Then God ended up blessing him even more than what he had before. In the end, God turned his seemingly hopeless situation around, to a life that was even better than what he had before.

  42. 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

Job repented and God forgave him. We all make mistakes and here Job realized he was wrong and admitted he listened to rumors. Lord thank you for mercy and grace.

  43. “You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭42:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Admit your failures and GrOw from them!

  44. 5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

Part of growing up and being mature is being humble and recognizing your mistakes. Humility goes along with repentance and this gets the Lord’d attention.

  45. Job 42:10 And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Like all great leaders,Job refused to take vengeance or hold grudges. Instead, he took the high road. He forgave his friends, interceded for them, and sent them on their way.Remind yourself of the differences between the low road and the high road:
Revenge and retaliation when wronged or Unconditional love and forgiveness

  46. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.(Job 42:4 KJV)

We should humble ourselves before God and answer him with a repented heart. God knows the answers to every question but it’s to benefit Job and give him the opportunity to realize his wrong doing. Sometimes it might feel like we are not being heard but God is all knowing and when the time is right he will reveal it all to us as he does to Job here and restores him before his friends and family.

  47. You never know hat God has for you. Job just had to repent and God blessed him. Even though Job didn’t understand all the things that took place his life but he kept close to God, close enough for God to hear him and for him to hear God loud and clear. The answer for us is not being perfect although striving for it as the word sys but being close enough to God to hear him.

  48. 12 So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

Submission and persistence can take you far.

  49. Michael
“And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭42:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Job was blessed more in the end than the beginning because he was good and prayed for his bad friends.

It’s hard to bless people when they don’t understand. Job did just that. He prayed for his friends even though they accused him of doing things wrong. They were not the best friends Job could have had, but all was restored when Job prayed in their behalf.

  50. v6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.”

This lets me know that Job humbled himself. GOD will never turn away the truly repentant person. LORD help us remain in an attitude of repentance towards you.
A person’s attitude always produces corresponding actions, and if one continually desires to follow the leading of the SPIRIT of GOD, his life will produce spiritual fruit , and become more like HIM.

  51. 6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before

Let Job be an example to us all. He knew he was wrong. He didn’t fight, throw a tantrum, point fingers. He repented. In doing so, God blessed him tremendously. There is no telling the blessings God has in store for you, if you just repent and turn away from your wrong doing.

  52. 10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

The captivity of Job was turned when forgiveness came. The hurt and pain inflicted by Jobs friends probably hurt more than his physical pain. His friends was all he had left. When he was down and out, he probably expected to be held up and motivated. But he was accused and shamed.

We are in a yoke when there is turmoil between friends, forgiveness is the only antidote to broken relationships!

  53. 6 I take back everything I said,
and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

How many times have we said something in anger, and then we regret it. We must think before we speak. But with patience, we will speak with love and peace.
