Psalm 10

1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

9 He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

  1. STAND WITH THE LORD

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

In a society of demonstrators and stances of support. We seem to witness this type of demonstration in regards to opposing views on a topic. What is more discouraging is the lack of stance for something.

When we STAND for something or someone, we GO with them and for them. Verse 16 inspired me today to GO with the LORD JESUS. HE is King for ever!

Let us today to choose to STAND on the promises of GOD, stand with the WORD of GOD and stand for the KINGDOM of GOD. He alone is King for ever.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  2. The wicked, in the haughtiness of his face, will not seek nor inquire for Him; All his thoughts are, “There is no God [so there is no accountability or punishment].” His ways prosper at all times; Your judgments [LORD ] are on high, out of his sight [so he never thinks about them]; As for all his enemies, he sneers at them. He says to himself, “I will not be moved; For throughout all generations I will not be in adversity [for nothing bad will happen to me].” (‭PSALM‬ ‭10‬:‭4-6‬ AMP)

Whoa! This is where pride, rebellion, self righteous leads you think. This is the times that we are living in.

For we know Him who said, “V ENGEANCE IS M INE [retribution and the deliverance of justice rest with Me], I WILL REPAY [the wrongdoer].” And again, “T HE LORD WILL JUDGE H IS PEOPLE.” It is a fearful and terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God [incurring His judgment and wrath]. (‭HEBREWS‬ ‭10‬:‭30-31‬ AMP)
We must continue to reach the lost, the backslider with the truth which is the word of GOD.

Jesus never stopped reaching and searching for them(us), why should we.
Lead me Lord to those whom are lost.

  3. 4. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

When we stop seeking after God, and He is not in all our thoughts, we have started living as the wicked do; and that’s a slippery slope we can’t afford to go down!

  4. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

A couple of questions we must ask ourselves on a constant basis is am I seeking the Lord and is God continually on my mind. If the answer is no then we are guilty of wickedness. The wicked is to prideful to put God first and want to do things their own way. What the wicked may not realize is they are doing the things of the enemy and no glory can come of that. When we put God first, we can accomplish so much more.

  5. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Seek God in all things. Don’t be so prideful to think all you have and every accomplishment is by you’re own doing. It’s God and God alone who has saved and blessed us! Don’t be so arrogant as to think you got life handled on your own. God is the one and only who gives and takes away according to His will. Thy will be done Lord as we seek You.

  6. 2 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

  7. 16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

David felt at the moment that the wicked was prospering though they had no desire to change or do good. But David knew the end results that the Lord would blessed the meek and humble and that the wicked would be taken care of. What I love most about David accomplishments and being named a man after God’s Own Heart was that he was not afraid to be open and honest about everything he felt with God whether he was upset about his situation or he was happy about the victory God gave him he told God everything he felt and didn’t hold anything back. And I believe that only drove him closer to God. A very great principle that we should all follow

  8. 5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

  9. Vs-17
Lord you know the hopes of humble people. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort their hearts by helping them.
Surely you will hear their cries and comfort their hearts by helping them.
This portion of vs-17 is we’re I’m at The Lord is comforting me when I cry out. Again as I mentioned in yesterday’s blog also getting up every morning and praising God has been a great comfort for me in my situation . Praising God in good times as well as bad times is something our Great Pastor Pastor Watts has instilled in us as a body.
Yesterday day at my sweet mothers visitation a lot of the time in her room there was standing room only. Most of it being the church body. WOW!!!!!!! What a great church family I am blessed with. What a comfort
Again I want to thank my church body for all there doing for my family!!!!!!!!!!!.
Thank you so much Pastor And Sis Watts for being the great people of God you are
Also thank you bro Morgan for being over my mothers funeral today. My family is very happy it’s you in the absences of Pastor and Sis Watts
I’m ready to go have a good time today celebration my mothers new life and praising God!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
God cares and is merciful to those that cannot help themselves. He shows love to the poor and the oppressed. He hears the cries of the humble. He will not reject those that humble themselves and follow him. He is a kind and compassionate God and we should be that way too.

  11. The wicked may laugh and snap there teeth at us. As much as it might seem like they are getting away with what they are doing they are not there coming a day when we all will stand before and and we will be judge do every think they are getting away way with thing .

  12. THIS IS WHY WE DONOT LIVE WITH A POVERTY MENTALITY

The adversary is out to destroy and if we live with a poor mentality then it brings you low and into a place of self pity. Our riches are not by the worlds standards our riches are within His Kingdom. When you live by the word give faithfully, watch the doors open for better jobs, God is faithful thank Him for what you have , We are royalty our Father is the King and He owns it all so it is about time for us to act like it. Don’t let the enemy catch you in his snare of a poverty life, use what you have for the Kingdom and you will be bkessed.

  13. (16) The Lord is king forever and ever ! The gadless nations will vanish from the labd (17) Lord, you know the hope of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. (18) you will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them. Psalms 10: 16,17,18 NLT

As i meditate on these verses, I look around in the times that we are living. where fear and confusion is creeping up on Society and masses of people protesting, masses of people living in fear because the uncertainty of the future , this is the weapons of the enemy to paralyze us. the one thing he don’t know is that the LORD used this times of trouble to glorify his name and show himself Mighty to us. It was in this times that the LORD show to David he’s Mighty power. Hallelujah thank you Lord for the truth that I know that you are the king of kings and Lord of lords. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!!

  14. “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:4, 6, 13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The scales of pride are so tightly knit over the eyes of the wicked they’re blind. They feel they are untouchable, undefeatable and unaccountable.

  15. Psalms 10:4, “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God; God is not in all his thoughts.”

The reason people will not seek after God or acknowledge Him is because of Pride.

  16. Psalms 10:17-18 (KJV Strong’s)

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble:
thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,
that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

The old song says “to be like Jesus, on earth I’ve longed to be like him, all through life’s journey from earth to glory I only ask to be like him.”

To be like Jesus is to hear the cry of the oppressed, the poor, the afflicted, and do something about it. To have compassion, give, pray for them, and lend a helping hand.

I pray God help us to be more like you and help the misfortune, and see them as you see them. They are souls.

  17. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
My first thought in reading today is of those that demonstrate and protest for things that the word of God call sin. They have the freedom to their beliefs, but they oppose God in many of their ways. God will judge us all and I hope that many Americans will wake up, hear the word of the Lord and be converted. I’m thankful today to know God and his ways..

  18. 7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

When I read this I couldn’t help but picture the old mercury thermometers we use to have and how kids would hide pennies under their tongue to make it seem like hey had a fever.

What do we have hiding under our tongues? Are we hiding something and not realizing that our words are laced with those things? Things we hide often are our secret motivators. What’s motivating me to say the things I say and do the things I do? Is it a genuine reason or is it laced with something I’ve hidden?

  19. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
    Isaiah 55:6

Ecclesiastes 12:14 – For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.

The wicked seek after their own selfish desires but we seek after Things that are holy and acceptable unto God. Dont think for a minute that you can live like a devil when no one is around remember God see’s all things!

  20. iLove to Go Blog
11The wicked think, “God isn’t watching us!
He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!”

O Ye Pagans, how can the One who created the eye… not see, O Ye Pagans, how can the One who created the ears… not hear? Repent and turn from your wicked ways and wake up! God sees and hears everything and nothing is hidden from the Almighty.

  21. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

The second we begin to believe that we do not need to seek after God is the second we become just like the world. We mustn’t be so prideful of ourselves and think that we have it all figured out, because that is when we start to fall. Instead we need to seek after God in all that we do!!

  22. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

We all need God ! When we start to believe other wise we not only lie to ourselves but somehow we have allowed wickedness to creep into our lives. Then pnesthoughts, actions , and words become evil and against God.

  23. 4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God. NIV

We don’t need to be prideful in anything we do, but give God glory in all things!

  24. 11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

Sometimes I feel as though God isn’t hearing or he just is so appalled at the way I am acting he is done! But then I get on here or do my devotional or the Ladies bible study, and sometimes I get something out of it that impacts me in such away that I know that I know that it is God! God is not a God that he should lie, so if he says I will never leave you, nor forsake you…hes not lying, hes there, sometimes hes waiting to see if Im gonna trust him and call on him! We cant shock God he knows what our decision is gonna be, but he waits for us to make the decision. If thats not LOVE I dont know what is!
    I love to GO pray
Thank you Jesus for your word!

  25. 7-8 They carry a mouthful of hexes, their tongues spit venom like adders. They hide behind ordinary people, then pounce on their victims.

Be carful who is surrounding you! The enemy is ready to attack at any second when we give him the chance of that one doubt or one sin, that’s all it takes. That’s why we can’t have people that are sinful be surrounding us because they can fill our minds with there words and let the enemy see through us! Surround yourself within Gods arms and his people that will pray for you and lift up not tear you down!

  26. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.
Help me to be humble in judgement. We seek to fulfill your Word and reach the lost and unreachable in our society. Give them an ear to hear your Word. Let them see You through us. We aren’t come to tell them of your wicked dealings toward them but about your love and understandings. Help me to be a soul winner again!

  27. 11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

  28. 6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

It is foolish thinking to feel because we are christians we will have no adversity. Adversity is used to form us and shape us and being tried in the fire we will come forth as gold. Therefore we must learn to stand in those adversities and not wavier knowing that all things work together “for” our good to them who love he Lord and are called according to His purpose.

No pain, no gain as the saying goes. If we don’t go through things to help us learn and make us stronger we are not growing. Growth is a process and unfortunately sometimes painful.

    I shall not be moved!

  29. 11The wicked think, “God isn’t watching us! He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!”

God has not closed his eyes, it’s the wicked who have, or they choose to tun and look away from God. They may think they are getting away with their sin, and one day God will expose their sin for all to see.

  30. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Humble yourself. God hears the humble.

  31. 14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
    The victims commit themselves to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.

My God knows me, He knows my needs and is here for me always. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I don’t have a physical father but you have fulfilled that emptiness, you have been there even before I knew who you were Jesus!! Now I can say I have a father and His name is Jesus!!! Thank You Jesus for saving me!!!!

    “Thank You Lord”
    Oh hallelujah, thank you Jesus
    Oh hallelujah, our God saves
    Oh hallelujah, highest praises
    Oh hallelujah, we give thanks
I’m grateful for who You are
    And all You’ve done

Thank you Lord for saving me
Thank you Lord for saving me
    Oh my soul cries hallelujah
Thank you Lord for saving me

    You’ve been so good
    You’ve been so good
I thank You Lord, I thank You
My heart is full, My heart is full
I love You Lord, I love You

How can I forget, how can I forget
What You’ve done for me, You are faithful
Never failed me yet, never failed me yet
You are good to me and I’m grateful, grateful

  32. Psalm9:-17amp English bible as I am reading this, o lord, you have heard the desire and the longing of the humble and oppressed; you will prepared and strengthen and direct their hearts, you will cause your ear to hear. Humble ourselfs to god God will hear us

  33. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

The Lord will hear the cry of the humble and defend them. The bible tells us how the Lord keeps the prideful at a distance. So the key is humility. You will be close enough for God to hear you.

  34. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Pride is the ultimate acknowledgement of self. Over indulging in one’s achievements. No wonder God resist a prideful heart. The reason is because a prideful heart is set to bring glory to itself. As long as one stays in this mindset, God will never be giving permission to operate.

  35. 1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

In the middle of a storm it’s hard to hear anything past the sound of thunder and strikes of lightning. When we seek Jesus we desire him to command the storm to be still. It’s not that God is ever far away from us hiding or neglecting us, but waiting for us to see Him past the situation.

  36. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: God has rewarded me with an ear to hear, eyes to see, a moyth to speak the truth. Hes humbled me so much. I praise God for the things hes done in my life for the good and for the bad

  37. “He says in his heart: “I’ll never be shaken! From generation to generation nothing bad will happen.” His mouth is full of cursing, lies and oppression. On his tongue are trouble and iniquity.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:6-7‬ ‭TLV‬‬

    Oh to be used
Everyone wants to be useful. Everyone prays to be used. In this case the person is not being used by the Lord, but rather by satan. We need to be specific when we pray the we don’t just want to be used, but used to draw people closer to Jesus. I know it would not be a positively answered prayer if I was like the person listed above, even if I were being used.

  38. 13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it

The wicked think that their actions are done in secret and their sin is hidden. The mind of the foolish think they won’t have to pay for the wrong they have done to others and the sin they have done against God.

  39. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

The lord hears our desires and prayers. For we need to stay humble at all times! A humble heart is a rejoicing heart. I want my prayers to be heard at all times. For my God is a way maker.I will listen to the voice of God .

  40. Verses 15-16 MSG “Break the wicked right arms, break all the evil left arms. Search and destroy every sign of crime. God’s grace and order wins; godlessness loses.” This reminded me of the song that we sing “I Win”:

No matter what the weapon is
I want you to know that I win

    (I win) I win

No matter what the weapon is
I want you to know that if
    I won’t doubt he’ll bring me out

    (I win) I win

No matter what the weapon is
I want you to know that if
    I won’t doubt he’ll bring me out
    If I obey he’ll make a way

Genesis 50:20 NKJV says “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
