Psalm 13

1 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  1. 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? Almost seems like someone ordered a dose of patience.
Seems like ive been seeing this a lot lately, and the answer is the same everytime.
Patience is built over trials, ive learned the only way to recieve patience is through the wisdom of patience. Experiencing patience can be frustrating and we can find ourselves asking and promising for this same thing in this verse
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
God has moved me a great distance in such a short amount of time which seemed like a lifetime. I found myself getting frustrated when i was put through some of these “trials” but only for a short amount of time long enough for my spirit to rejoice to the Lord. To move myself out of the frustration. To praise God for every moment of life. My God is so good!

  2. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

To GOD be all the glory!!!! No matter what trials I’ve had to face in my life, it has taught me to trust The Lord in all things. For He is the rock of my salvation, He’s never failed me, He has always shown His faithfulness towards me.
The trials we face only brings maturity in Christ, so don’t ever turn back, endure all things, and He will give you a new song to sing!!!

O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. (‭Psalms‬ ‭96‬:‭1-2, 4‬ KJV)

  3. Verse 5 AMP “But I have trusted and relied on and been confident in Your lovingkindness and faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice and delight in Your salvation.” Psalm 37:4-7 AMP says “Delight yourself in the Lord, And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in Him also and He will do it. He will make your righteousness [your pursuit of right standing with God] like the light, And your judgment like [the shining of] the noonday [sun]. Be still before the Lord; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; Do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.”

  4. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Regardless of what is going on around me and how close to death I may be I put my trust in God.

    Psalm 71
1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.

2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.

3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

5 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.

  5. 5. But I trust in Your faithful love; my heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You. The Voice

  6. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
    (6) I will sing to the Lord because h3 is good to me. Psalms 13:5,6 NLT

  7. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  8. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me
Señor tu éter mi refujioy si en tu misericordia comfiare mi corazón se alegra en tu salvación y te acabaré y contaré por que tu en tu inmensa misericordia me haz hecho bien te amo mi SEÑOR JESÚS

  9. 5-6 I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms— I’m celebrating your rescue. I’m singing at the top of my lungs, I’m so full of answered prayers.

Claim your blessing! It’s not the time to go around and blam God for all the things you don’t have but start rejoicing and claim your blessing and give thanks to the all mighty God! Everything and everyone may seem like their against you but there is the God that if you just start praising his name and claim it in Jesus name he will make a way for you and answer your prayers! Thank you God for answering my prayers and what others are to come in Jesus name!

  10. 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

Things are only a season. With God he is building us up for a higher than we are even aware of. We may be asking “how long?” But he’s saying “just keep fighting! Just keep prevailing!” He will not put us in something we can’t make it out of. Don’t pray for patience, patinece comes from trials, and that is why he trials us. I thank you Jesus! The trials I go through would not be possible for me to overcome without you. THANK YOU JESUS FOR YOUR EVER LASTING BLESSINGS!

  11. “Consider and answer me, O LORD my God; Give light (life) to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death, And my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” And my adversaries will rejoice when I am shaken. But I have trusted and relied on and been confident in Your lovingkindness and faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice and delight in Your salvation. I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
    ‭‭PSALM‬ ‭13:3-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

David is very transparent with the emotions that he’s going through. I’m thankful for that. It has allowed us to see that the man after gods own heart had similar feelings and emotions. One thing that stuck out after he was transparent with the Lord in prayer he ended it with rejoicing and praising. God has been so good to us.

  12. Psalms
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

David starts out with the true facts that were going on in his life. The first step to healing. Admitting we have a need. We are real we are flesh and we do suffer. But look at what David then says But I have trusted in thy mercy my heart shall rejoice and I will sing unto the Lord. After admitting our need to God then the prescription is given, we cannot be healed until we want to be healed. A prescription can be given but until you take the next step of filling that prescription administering what the Physcian has prescribe. I have found that the only healing cannot come from a drug that makes you sleep or a drug that is supposed to cause you to be happy but in the mercy , the rejoicing, the singing in the presence of the Lord….sorrow is painful but there is healing in the presence of God. Try it use your voice the next time it sweeps over you and rejoicing will come for in His presence there is fullness of joy.

  13. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Without hesitation, no matter what is going on in my life and how bad things are, when it seems like the enemy is getting a handle on me and seems to have gotten me down….I will sing unto the Lord because He has still shown me grace and love.

Psalms 13:1-2 KJV  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?  (2)  How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?

These are those times when it feels as if God has left us and we are all alone. Each and everyone of us have experienced it. It is alot easier to serve God when we feel His Presence, so why does God let us feel so alone sometimes? The answer is, we must learn how to walk by faith even when we don’t feel God. Think about it, do you want your kids to only act nice when you are around? The answer is, you want your kids to act nice even when you’re not around. How will you ever know how they will act until you give them some time to “prove” themselves. God does the same with us to “prove” us. We must learn to walk by faith and not by sight. Boom

  15. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

No matter how it looks, no matter how it feels I will praise you because I trust you and you have always been good to me.

  16. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Praise God for everything he has done for me in my life! And for saving me with his grace. That alone is reason to praise him.

  17. Psalms 13:5-6 (AMP)
    5) But I have trusted and relied on and been confident in Your lovingkindness and faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice and delight in Your salvation.
    6) I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

One thing I can say is, “Even in the deepest, darkest, trying times of testing in my life, I have TRUSTED, RELIED ON, and been CONFIDENT in HIs Lovingkindness and Faithfulness to me. That is what has keep me going.
Because of this, I can sing to the LORD because HE IS SO GOOD TO ME!!

God is Good All the Time, and All the Time God is Good!

  18. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
6 I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me. (NLT)

Despite what life and the enemy throws my way, I will ever trust and rejoice in You Jesus. You have never failed me and You never will. Lord, You are good!

  19. Psalms 13:3-4 (MSG)
    3 Take a good look at me, God, my God;
I want to look life in the eye,
4 So no enemy can get the best of me
or laugh when I fall on my face.

The old song says turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face, and the things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace.

When life is troubling we need but to turn our eyes upon Jesus. Keeping our eyes on him will help us to walk above the tumultuous waves, and the boisterous winds of life. We can walk on the waters of our storms when our eyes are upon him.

  20. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
This scripture reminds me of proverbs “trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not to thine own understanding” Our trust and confidence should be in God. Our faith should be in Him! When we trust Him we can sing because he’s been so good to us!

  21. GO WITH SALVATION

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

Salvation is our motivation in the Kingdom of GOD. When all else fails; HIS Mercy endureth forever. When the attitude of gratitude is shared from the heart, we rejoice in the fact of GOD Loves us enough to SAVE us from the eternal death penalty for sin.

One thought of the name of JESUS should open the window to HIS Love toward us and cause the heart to rejoice.

Thanking JESUS everyday for saving us is a good practice to express our sincere appreciation to JESUS is revealed thorough our rejoicing.

  22. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

There is no greater joy than to know his salvation. I rejoice that He gave me the heart and mind to hear and believe the great message of being born again. That’s cause to sing praises to the king of kings! Anything we receive after we have been born again is icing on the cake…true blessings. But first and foremost is salvation and being saved.

  23. 1 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Instead of complaining about the situation we’re in, how about we go ahead and rejoice in God for he will bring us through it! Lord I will praise you at all times!!

  24. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

I am going to Rejoice like it’s already happen i trust and believe what ever i need the lord will provide

    Rejoice when you are said

    Rejoice when you are irritated
    Rejoice when you are flustrated
    Rejoice when you are mad
my enemies May pick at me
But i will not be move for the lord is my rock

Rejoice for the lord is my rock and my friend
Ain’t no Rock gonna take my place
I will not be move by my enemies

  25. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  26. 5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation. NIV

We have to be patient and trust God like David did, David was patient with God no matter how long it was going to take God!

  27. 6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Oh my DADDY, You could’ve taken me out a long time ago, you could’ve cut me off, but instead You have been so merciful unto me JESUS, I thank YOU for such Great mercy!!! I am BLESSED and I know that I have not seen all of your GREATNESS , now, if I would be more obedient unto Thee……. help me JESUS!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  28. 1 O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?

By asking these questions, you may think God was blind. Only the blind can’t see the anguish your going through. It may seem forever that you have been suffering through an issue. Through prayer and patience one will endure the pain, and will be blessed at the end!

  29. Under pressure David feels forgotten by God and cries out for The Lord to act . No immediate answer comes yet David finds peace remembering Gods loyal love.

  30. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  31. 5But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
    6 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

Yes Lord, you gave been so good to me. Even when things seem like they have no end or way out you always give me strength and boldness to see beyond whats in front of my eyes. Thank you Lord because your love never fails!!!

  32. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Sometimes the way that things look can be discouraging, but to me being discouraged is another way of not trusting God, I will be the first to admit I have a hard time trusting God, and I have a hard time trusting people in general, this is natural for someone who has been let down multiple times, But as I look back God has never let me down. I have however let him down so many times. So now come the part where I say NORA you got to let GO and let GOD! I will sing unto the Lord because he has dealt bountiful with me, I will sing to the Lord because he told me NO, I will sing to the Lord because he told me YES, I will sing to the Lord because He is the reason for my SALVATION. Thank you Jesus your are AWESOME!

  33. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not unto tbibe own understanding!

  34. 4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

We must guard our hearts and our way of thinking. It is very easy to get on the “pity party train” when we feel like God isn’t listening to us. Sometimes He leaves us in a season where we feel we are all alone to help us learn what trust really it is. It’s easy to say we trust Him when things are going great, but when we are walking a path we never thought we would have to walk, that is when trust becomes real. Do we really trust Him? Do we really believe He knows what’s best for us? When we are walking out that trust, we respond in the face of adversity, no matter what – I will sing unto the Lord because HE hath dealt bountifully with me.

  35. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

    Trust in His mercy!

It’s a totally new way to perceive God when you have failed him. God wrath is always against sin. He despises it so much that we can bring death to ourselves if we chose to abide in it.

When I see the word mercy, it reminds of standing before a judge in a trail. Being charged for a crime punishable by death, then when we have called for and counted on his mercy when we repent, he turns to us and says “Not guilty, you are exonerated. You debt has been paid in full”

Here is demonstrated the greatest act of Love, Christ absorbing my sin.

  36. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

  37. 2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
Cleanse me Lord from the sadness in my heart. Take away my pain for them that distrust me and find fault in my walk with you. Allow me to be the light in their lives and show them my true relationship with you. Let me be a friend when they need me. Let me exalt you through the pain and find blessings through this walk home to be with you.

  38. Psalm 13-1 English amp Bible, how long will you forget me, o Lord? Forever? How long will you hide your face from me? God see’s everything you do.

  39. How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O  Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die.
    Psalms 13:2‭-‬3 NLT

I just went through this the other night. I have been struggling with trust. When it comes to finances or there is something that is lacking: it’s hard for me to trust in GOD. It is still a learning process for me and will probably will always be. My confidence in GOD is growing, I’m learning to trust in HIS word and rely upon GOD for counseling. HE is the ultimate counselor. This is where I’m at; how long must I struggle. How long will there be sorrow in my heart. That is determined by me; how long will I play with GOD? I have to purpose it in my heart daily to do GODS work. How long; as long as I allow it. GOD has been so good with me and as bro Crocket said last night I’m paraphrasing. My sin will last as long as I let it in: I have to take all my idols to Kidron and burn them to dust. GOD is a gentleman and will never force HIS will on me. My heart has to be willing.

In Hebrew H1727: dub a primitive root; to mope, i.e. (figuratively) pine:-sorrow.

  40. Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
    Psalm 13:3 NIV

We must always be in Prayer and in His Word because that is the only way that God will give us revelation and open our spiritual eyes. This is how God speaks and answers us. If there is no understanding or revelation there is spiritual death.

  41. When you put your trust in God, the devil will try his best to bring you down. Never allow the enemy to deceive you and make you believe you are powerless against us. God gives his people power to overcome.

  42. I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

“When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me. My soul cries out hallelujah…!” praise be to our Lord Jesus for he has been so good to me. Im pretty sure that every born again beliver can relate and be thankful for God daily fills us with benefits and pours out his love and mercy. Thank you Jesus!

  43. 5But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

David begins by expressing his pain and need for the Lords help quickly. He makes for us the perfect example of how to handle this situation of life by trusting God and praising him. In the middle of the storm we too need to praise him and trust that I’d he brought us to it he will bring us through it.

  44. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Sometimes the Lord is watching to see how we are handling the trouble in our lives. Are we throwing our hands up to God in accusation? Are we smitten in defeat or are we keeping our heads up looking for the mercy of the Lord? His mercy will come if we can just endure until then

  45. How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?(Psalms 13:2 KJV)

David is speaking to the Lord asking him how much longer do we have to take advice and direction for ours souls, because of the sorrow david is in. The attacks that he’s enduring are great and needs Jesus to make a way. We also go through these situations in life when we ask God to bring us out. The trouble of the present time won’t last always and it will pass. We get to trust in him and praise God in advance.

  46. 3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

In the midst of your troubles, praise God.

  47. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.

6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

The Lord’s abundant blessings and continual goodness towards us transcend any problems we face in life. While those problems may still be painful, God is still merciful.

  48. “I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms— I’m celebrating your rescue. I’m singing at the top of my lungs, I’m so full of answered prayers.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭13:5-6 MSG

The Lord always has more wisdom Than we do. He answers our prayers in ways we can’t imagine. Thank you Lord that your ways are higher than mine.

  49. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

Whenever we are feeling down, or begin to loose hope, if we will only remember where He brought us out of….

  50. 5. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. 6. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. I will sing unto the LORD a new song !!!! I will praise His Name !!!!

  51. 1 How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
    3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.

For us not to complain and when we do all we know go to go and snitch everything to God. He knows what he puts us through as we are the one that go through wrong paths but he is out father and he will never do about us and we need to know how to Dance in advance how glorify God and know to bless the Lord name because we should know that when he ask for something and if it’s God’s will.
