Psalm 49

1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:

2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.

4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?

6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.

10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.

13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.

14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.

19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

  1. Power in the of Jesus, Salvation in the name of Jesus, Healing in the of Jesus, everything I need! Touching in the name of Jesus, Delivers in the name of Jesus, Freedom in the name of Jesus, everything I need is in that way! Amen!!!

  2. The false security of natural wealth.

    Men have forever sought after riches and glory on the earth, to lay up things here so that their families are taken care of, so that they can lay down in rest and know that everyone is going to be ok. But how many times have we seen someone get an inheritance and blow it? Look at the parable of the prodigal son, it was all gone. Natural wealth is not a bad thing but when it is not prayerfully considered it can be destructive. You cannot buy your way or anyone else’s way into heaven. There is only one way to purchase a soul and that is through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ. Wealth can make life easier in one hand an complicate everlasting life on the other. Let us be prosperous and not lose sight of what real riches are, the ones we lay up in heaven.

  3. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

    16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

  4. 16. So don’t be dismayed when the wicked grow rich and their homes become ever more splendid.

    17. For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.

    There’s a reason you don’t see the hearse pulling a u-haul in the funeral procession.
    There’s nothing wrong with having lots of money. The problems come from the way that having all that money changes some people; the way they spend the money, and how they view their money. It can’t buy happiness, and so many put their trust in the money instead of the One that provided it.

  5. Hannah: “20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.” This verse spoke to me because it shows that you could have all the riches in the world but you would be nothing if you were not right with God. “Mathew 17:26 For what is man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Someone’s soul is the most precious to God. He died for each and every one of us so that our souls could be saved and we can be with the Lord. God desires for each person to serve him with gladness and joy in their heart. His will is also that each person will be saved and will be with him. I strive that I will always serve the Lord with gladness in my heart each and every day of my life.

  6. Redemption does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough
    to live forever and never see the grave.
    Psalms 49:8,9 NLT

  7. “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭49:6-8

    Eternity is not for sale. Eternity is achieved by submission and obedience to His Word. When we obey and are submitted that shows our level of intimacy with God. It shows that we have placed our trust in Him. When we fully engage our whole selves, our mind, soul and spirit we have truly given ourselves to Him.

    Dive deep and be Souled out to Jesus!
    No Time for Part-time Disciples!
    Get fully Engaged!

  8. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    It’s the old saying .. “when you Die you can’t take nothing with you” no matter what wealth we amassed and what success we have had on this earth when we die we can’t take it with us. .. it’s gone and eventually will be burnt up. So we should give and commit our lives to things that will last forever and not give ourselves to superficial accomplishments

  9. What a poignant reminder of foolishness of pursuing and trusting in the riches of this life. It reminds you of the words of Solomon: ‘There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.’ The world’s attention and focus may be there, but God forbid that we who are called according to his name should make the same mistake. It is not the riches that are the problem, God desires to bless his people, it’s making the mistake of thinking that having riches somehow provides the protection and safety we have of Him. Notice that Solomon said the hoarding of riches was even to their hurt, it was detrimental to their soul and their very outlook on life. ‘He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see the light.’

    ‘Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.’ This expresses that mindset so well… not only will riches provide for myself, they’ll be there for my children, they’ll become so great they’ll even become a memorial for generations to come. This is the very thought of the heart Jesus speaks of when he declares that ‘No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and Mammon.’ So can we choose this day whom we serve… because it makes an eternal difference to our soul! ‘God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.’

    I like the reminder that is given after demonstrating such a powerful snare of the enemy. ‘Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.’ It’s speaking of those who are made rich by the pursuit of riches, but we do not need to fear the blessings of God either. We are not made more holy by living a life of poverty. Just use those blessings for the good! Remember that ‘men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself,’ but we seek the blessings and favor of God! So keep your sight on Jesus and remember that to whom much is given, much is required. If God has chosen to bless me, let me be a faithful steward of those blessings!

  10. 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
    12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish
    20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

    There is nothing in this world we can have that will prosper without tending to it properly. God has given us a charge over this city and everything we have been given. We must seek wisdom and understanding in being good stewards otherwise it will all be short-lived. The harvest is something we must be careful to continue to cultivate and nurture. People are driven by emotions these days and it’s easy for most people to come visit a church, get touched by the Holy Ghost and stop coming when things aren’t convenient anymore. We must continue to be a conduit for Christ to see that what they need is Everlasting and needed in their day to day lives. It’s not just emotional fix, to come in get touched and leave then come back when they need it again but we help provide understanding that it is a daily bread to nurture their souls.

  11. iLove to Go Blog
    8Redemption does not come so easily,
    for no one can ever pay enough
    9to live forever
    and never see the grave.

    When I was a teenager back in the 1890’s…I mean 1990’s, I thought I would live like the devil and right before I died, I would repent and “just receive the Holy Ghost.” Well, according to the Bible, redemption does not come that easy. In fact, when I finally came to the Lord in 1996, it took 7 months for me to receive the Holy Ghost. I didn’t realize it at the time, but my attitude towards God was straight mockery. When I got into trouble over my head, I tried to pay a ransom to Him. “Lord, if you get me out of this one, I will live for You.” Well, real life doesn’t work like that folks. Repent now while you have the chance for tomorrow may never come…and oh yeah, redemption does not come that easy.

  12. HOPE FOR THE REDEEMED

    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
    16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Life in and of itself is filled with diversity. Fleshly or carnally speaking, people attracted to wealth, to seek it, to attain it, to flaunt it. However as we read in verse 16, nobody carries anything to the grave.

    However, for the soul following the Spirit of GOD, the grave has no power over the redeemed. The soul puchased through the blood of JESUS is redeemed and shall not fear death or leaving the presence of riches. Much more valuable to the believer is the opportunity to leave behind the cares of this world and reach for the eternal remdemption of the soul. Heaven is much more attractive than riches to the redeemed soul. Therefore we declare:

    1Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

    The redeemed have VICTORY over the grave!

    Let the redeemed of the LORD say so!

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive

  13. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The psalmist announces he is about to solve one of life’s perplexing riddles The wicked who prosper materially are not really blessed for they trust their wealth and die like the animals without hope Ultimately the upright will rule for God will take them to himself thus the believer need not to be envious when an ungodly man grows rich for the doom of such men is sure

  14. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

    The material things of this world shall one day pass away; put full trust in God and know where your salvation comes from. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, the one who has already defeated death, hell and the grave. JESUS today YOU will SAVE me!

  15. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

    16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    I don’t want to gain the whole world to lose my soul! Are we putting more trust in possessions than our God? There are some possessions that we need to live for our time here but if we are putting more focus on gaining those possessions than on our relationship with God, then our soul will be lost! Our lifetime here is so short when you put it next to eternal life, our soul will be the only thing taken to heaven. So we must decide which is more important to us, this world and the possessions of it, or our soul and eternal life!

  16. 12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
    they are like the beasts that perish.
    13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves,
    and of their followers, who approve their sayings.

    Guard my heart Lord, that I may not perish but have ever lasting life. In you I trust and will always trust!! You have showed me so many times how much you love us and that you will never forsake us. You have never failed me or my family, you always supply our needs at the perfect time. You are just amazing, I have seen your hand move and my faith has grown so much. I have seen how you operate in other peoples life, my life, my family. There’s just not enough words to explain how great and excellent you are Lord!!! Thank you Jesus for everything!!!

  17. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

  18. 20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

    Wealth and being rich has nothing to do with honor and being a good person. When we are children, we do the right thing out of obedience to authority, out of the fear of punishment. As we mature, we begin to see that the world does not revolve around us, that we belong to groups larger than ourself, and with this discovery comes a new awareness of the needs of that group and how our behavior affects others. This change in perspective (should) shift our motivation in doing the right thing from obedience to authority/fear of punishment, to respect for other people.

    For example, as a boy I did chores because I had to, and I didn’t want to get in trouble with my folks. As I grew into a young man, I began to do them because I respected my parents – I came to understand that I was part of a family and had a duty to keep the household running and pull my own weight.

    A moral person operates out of honor rather than obedience because we realize that we have a role to play in helping a group survive and thrive – that our actions directly relate to the group’s strength or weakness. When we function out of rules and laws, we do the bare minimum to keep from being punished. When we function out of honor, we seek to at least pull our own weight and do what is right – because it is the right thing to do.

  19. Trust in the Lord

    6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

    7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

    Daddy was always reminding us that there were 2 things in this world anyone could have. That was the ability to receive the Holy Ghost and having babies. He said no matter the status of their life these 2 things was something that were absolutes. He was a hard working man and always provided for us 4 girls mom and our grandmother who lived with us. The greatest thing he taught us though was do not depend upon this world and its riches it will fade away but the word of God would not. Wealth is glamorous and having an endless flow of money seems the ultimate goal of everyone. Yet it will never satisfy. I have seen the riches of those who had no want for anything yet their life was in a mess pitiful and without a satisfaction. I have stood in castles made by men who had more than you can image but yet their world crashed down around them. I stood in the home of a pastor in Krygestan who had been beaten for leaving his family and standing for truth. This pastor has no running water in his home this pastor had no indoor toilet this pastor has never seen a Buffet where you can eat anything you want and as much as you want. This pastor gets to take a bath once a week.
    Are we so wrapped up on the things of this world we forget the true purpose it is about the wealth of God . Yes we have to work yet we cannit make it our top priority we must show the world what wealth in God is for it will never fade away.

    Trust in the Lord share the wealth of His goodness His live His abundance of freedom from sin that is the wealth that will never run out

  20. Commentary on Psalm 49:6-14 by Matthew Henry
    (Read Psalm 49:6-14)
    Here is a description of the spirit and way of worldly people. A man may have wealth, and may have his heart enlarged in love, thankfulness, and obedience, and may do good with it. Therefore it is not men’s having riches that proves them to be worldly, but their setting their hearts upon them as the best things. Worldly men have only some floating thoughts of the things of God, while their fixed thoughts, their inward thoughts, are about the world; that lies nearest the heart. But with all their wealth they cannot save the life of the dearest friend they have. This looks further, to the eternal redemption to be wrought out by the Messiah. The redemption of the soul shall cost very dear; but, being once wrought, it shall never need to be repeated. And he, the Redeemer, shall rise again before he sees corruption, and then shall live for evermore,

    Matt 6:19-24 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
    20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
    21 for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also…
    24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

  21. 10 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
    11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.

    What good and what legacy does wealth leave when one dies? People with wealth, by verse 11 hope that, by their wealth, their name will continue to all generations after them. But we know that the is only one name that continues to all generations and that is the name of Jesus. For as the flower fadeth so do their names. So instead of wealth, laid up here, I wish to lay up wealth in heaven and serve that which does not pass away and will endure to all generations.

  22. Psalms 49:16-17 & 19-20AMP)
    16) Be not afraid when (an ungodly) man becomes rich, When the wealth and glory of his houses are increased.
    17) For when he dies he will carry nothing away; His glory will not descend after him.
    19) He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never again see the light.
    20) A man (who is held) in honor, Yet who lacks (spiritual) understanding and a teachable heart, is like the beasts that perish.

    The scriptures that came to mind as I read Psalms 49 is 1Timothy 6:6-12.
    6) But godliness with contentment is great gain.
    7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
    8) And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
    9) But they that will be rich fall into temptations and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
    10) For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
    11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
    12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

  23. 12 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Reading this psalm I am reminded how riches never save a soul. It does not matter how much money, lands, etc. you store up, if you do not lay your treasures in heaven; it is all for naught. Matt6:20-21” Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
    Some of the most heart wrenching times when caring for patients that are nearing the end of life is dealing with family members only concerned with being included in a will. It is rare to see family pray with their loved one. Far too often the family members are akin to vultures circling around and waiting to grab a portion of an earthly inheritance.
    The Lord loves to bless his children and cares how they live. Yet, when he blesses us; we are not to only hoard it for our own personal legacy and sole enjoyment. We are to be faithful to his kingdom and in doing so; we are placing those treasures into a heavenly store house.

  24. 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

    Salvation is individual….. just like the horse chooses to drink or drools at the sight before him but never drinks of the water he was lead to…

  25. Redemption does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough to live forever and never see the grave.
    Psalms 49:8‭-‬9 NLT

    Jesus, the price You paid was enough. You have kept me from the pit of hell and delivered me from bondage. I exalt You!

  26. but their fame will not last. They will die, just like animals.
    Psalms 49:12 NLT

    Wealth money and food and all of these thing that make up this world will pass away one day

  27. 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

  28. 18 Though while they live they count themselves blessed—
    and people praise you when you prosper. NIV

    We need thank and give God praise even before he blesses us because he’s already done so much for us!

  29. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Can God trust us with riches? Whatever He blesses us with it to bless His kingdom with; the glory of His house. Can He trust us to bless us finances and we in turn bless the Kingdom of God so that it prospers? We can’t take it with us when we go, so why not be wise stewards, give God what belongs to Him and offerings above and beyond and watch God bless you abundantly.

  30. Josiah: 1 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
    2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
    3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
    BLESSED BE THE LORD! For in God’s hand a rich man is not treated better for being rich and likewise the poor man is not treated worse for being poor. For this is part of the perspective I want in life. That to me a lost soul is a lost soul ”Both low and high, rich and poor, together.”. THANK YOU JESUS! For in this psalm David really emphasizes this. If you are ungodly you are ungodly. For when you leave this world what do you take with you. Nothing. Yet, to David, as it should have been, he cared for each and every person. Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you.
    For this is the perspective I long to have. The perspective of equality. The perspective of a thirst for God’s word. The perspective of sharing God’s word. To heed the call. To save the lost. To spread the gospel. For I do not wish to just have a certain perspective, but to GO reach deeper into God’s word. To work at saving lost souls, and to GO GROW spiritually. PRAISE THE LORD! A JUST GOD! For the Holy Bible says: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  31. Listen to this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world! High and low, rich and poor—listen!
    Psalms 49:1‭-‬2 NLT

    When we listen our mouths are quite and our focus is on what we are hearing. The same is when we listen spiritually the more we pay attention the more we can find out what God is saying.

  32. 16. Be not thou afraid when one is made rich , when the glory of his house is increased ; 17. For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away : his glory shall not descend after him . When we die we will not take anything or our belongings with us .

  33. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
    The things of this world shall pass away!

    For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

  34. 20 People who boast of their wealth don’t understand; they will die, just like animals.

    Yes the wealthy believe they are not vulnerable to life’s troubles. Most of them feel, that money brings them happiness and peace. Just because they have the finer things in life, they fail to realize they may die young, middle age or at an old age. Whether poor or rich, having a relationship with God is what counts.

  35. No one cares about how much money and how much material stuff people have . That’s a distraction. Trust in the Lord . Remember he will supply all your needs . God is the Great I Am. We are all sheep and without our shepherd we will fall apart.

  36. You can never out give God
    3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
    I will meditate on understanding, and share testimonies about blessings i have recieved by Gods grace. I am so greatful for what God has done for me and its showing me just a taste of whats to come. These things here on earth are temporary i am very much aware.
    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
    The true blessing is the gift of the Holy Ghost and knowing there is eternal peace to come! God has thrown these little vog blessings just to show me what hes capable of. I say little bog blessimgs because theyre little to him but so big to me and truly mean something to me and he knows that it brings joy to me. Thabk you Jesus for this day!
    God bless you all! We are Mighty!

  37. 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Where is your treasure? I know I want to lay my treasures up in heaven. The things if this life will pass away but what we do for Christ will last through eternity. I am not here… we are not here to glorify ourselves but to glorify a God. My prayer today is yo always have mind and heart that seeks after heavenly treasures.

  38. We can not live to store up worldly desires. We must live to do the will of God. We must have a compassionate heart to win the lost.

  39. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah

    What a price to pay that all the money in the world cannot. Riches cannot pay the price for salvation. The true riches are the ones we make for heaven. Be wise and win souls that you may store up true riches in God.

  40. “None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭49:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Our choices effect more than just us. The things we do or choose not to do change is and others every day. We can’t do enough good things OR buy our way into heaven. The price is too great. There is no way that we could repay the debt caused by our sins. Jesus is so gracious that he has paid our debt in full and gives us the gift of the Holy Ghost as well. Thank you Jesus for the life change.

  41. The psalmist realizes that wealth is not the “be all and end all” so many make it out to be. Yes, having a lot of money can give a person certain freedoms and pleasures, and enable them to be lavish in their generosity. However, as the psalmist reminds us, when our earthly life ends, the externals cease to make any difference at all. We truly can not take any riches with us. That’s why Jesus urges us not to spend our energy on accumulating material goods at the expense of spiritual riches (Mat 6:19-21). He tells us to gaurd our hearts from envy and coveteousness, for life is not found in our stuff (Luke 12:15). Regardless of our material lot in life, each of us face the same choice: Will we place the highest value on imperishable riches so that, when we leave our stuff behind, we will love forever with Jesus Christ (1Pe 1:17-25).

  42. This Psalm is a good reminder that earthly riches are no where near as important as our heavenly riches. I am surely blessed here on earth living in America, but I need to remember that just by living a blessed life I won’t get to heaven! I still need to have a personal relationship with God and always serve Him. As Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” It is only through Christ that I can have salvation. Nothing in this world, not even wealth, can be a substitute for that sacrifice that God gave so that I might live eternally with Him! I need to always be spreading this beautiful gospel to ALL those around me, so that way as many people as possible can know this truth.

  43. 20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

    20

    When the bible compares man to beast, he is literally saying he is nothing. We are all made in the image of God, so to be compared to beast, is literally this lowest anything anyone can say about someone.

    One of the things that Bro Jackson said, there is too much worldly wisdom and understanding in the pulpit. When we need not to add or subtract from what God has already written. There is a lack of understand, it makes void all the knowledge you may have.

  44. 3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
    4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.

    Something I need to work more at…

  45. Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
    Psalms 49:5

    Even though we may walk through the valleys of life we don’t have to fear evil for our God is with us and his presence comforts us (Ps 23:4). Even when wicked people come to deceive us they cannot becxause we know who the One true living God.

  46. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    Let us not get caught up with the things of this world! Riches aren’t bad, but living FOR them instead of living FOR God is not good! The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

    “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” – 1 Timothy 6:10 KJV

  47. “Listen to this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭49:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    All you people!
    Everyone in the world!

    “And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Everyone! That includes your friends. Your family. Even the ones you don’t like. We MUST share this gospel with EVERYONE.

  48. 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

    15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.

  49. 17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    There’s a reason why the presidents on your paper money are dead. Cause money is only good on this earth. When we die it’s all going disburse. We can’t taken nothing to heaven. Can’t take our nice cars or our houses.

  50. Verses 15-17 CEV “But God will rescue me from the power of death. Don’t let it bother you when others get rich and live in luxury. Soon they will die and all of their wealth will be left behind.” Mark 8:36 AMP says “For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul?”

  51. Psalm49:17 (English Amp Bible) For when he dies he will carry nothing away; His glory will not descend after him.It doesn’t matter if you have a lots of money , new car , new house! You can’t take anything with you. Money is the root of evil. Making it to Heaven is what we need.

  52. 16 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;

    17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.

    If we didn’t enjoy life to the fullest by living righteous by following God’commandment we won’t get to be in the Kingdom of God. No wealth will buy you a ticket to heaven, God’s love is unconditional he blesses those who glorify him and not themselves.
