Psalm 58

1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.

7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

  1. 11. So that men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely He is God who judges in the earth.” NKJV

Just as sure as God is judge, there is both reward for the righteous and punishment for the unrighteous, no matter how many try to convince themselves and others that there is no heaven or hell, and this earth is the end of it all. Satan is playing them for a fool, don’t fall into the same trap.

  2. Verse 11 CEV “Everyone will say, “It’s true! Good people are rewarded. God does rule the earth with justice.” Same verse AMP “Men will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; Surely there is a God who judges on the earth.”

Romans 6:16 AMP says “Do you not know that when you continually offer yourselves to someone to do his will, you are the slaves of the one whom you obey, either [slaves] of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness (right standing with God)?”

  3. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

    2 Samuel 24:14 KJV
David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

  4. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

    Prverbs 1 2&3
    To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
    To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

Were judged by society everyday, well people in general. Judged by their hair, by their clothes, by their appearance all around. As christian we shouldnt have to ask ourselves if we have the position to judge anybody and a lot of nonbelievers assume were ready to look down on them when really we just want to help them and show them the Love of Christ, and give the glory to God and praise him for choosing to use us today!
Philippians 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Judgement – the ability to make considered decisions or come to sensible conclusions.

Who are we to judge. Who are we to have the ability to make considered decisions?

Its not righteous to judge and if you wanna get to heaven you better be righteous or do your best to live Christ like and be a true Christian.

    God bless you all!

  5. Stillborn

8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

Everyone has thoughts that are not so good. When the devil speaks to you he does it in the form of a thought. He whispers a lie to you to see if you will accept it. The first thing you have to do is believe the lie before you will act upon it. When you beilive that lie or even start to think about it it becomes like a baby in the womb, it is conceived. Once the thing is conceived it starts to grow. Now you have let something be born in you. When the lie is grown enough you will give birth to it by speaking it out and now it not only has been conceived in you but you have cast seed into the wombs of others. What we have to do as believers is to recognize the lie as
soon as it is cast in our ears. If we catch the thing before it grows in our hearts we can stop it before it is ever alive. We can stop it before it is ever birthed in us.

    2 Corinthians 10:5
“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”
    ‭‭
Stillborn. It is dead. No chance of surviving or germinating anywhere else. Killed before it ever has a chance to live.

  6. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

  7. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
    Psalms 58: 11 NLT

  8. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

There is a reward that we all get, called eternity. The choice is whether we want the righteous’ reward, or the unrighteous’ reward…

  9. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
It is not our place to anyone we are not the judge. When we think that someone is getting away with something God sees all we don’t have to let that person know what he/she is doing wrong. Reminds me of the verse Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
So when you think you are doing all you can and that person that done you wrong is never going thru trails, they are we just may not see them.

  10. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
    Psalms 58: 11 NLT

Sometimes in our walk with God we forget that there is a reward for us if we serve God. The bible says we will receive a crown of righteousness if we make it to heaven. The bible tells us that God “is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” God is a holy righteousness judge and his rulings are perfect when we trust Him he will never fail us.

  11. 11 Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.” (NLT)

I can’t express how much I am reminded of last nights message. Living forGod comes with reward, but just the same there is reprimand for those who are like the serpents earlier mentioned in the chapter. Be careful not to take the seat of judgement. Even as someone who claims to live for God, we sometimes try to take God’s place and judge the world around us like “How dare these people live a life of sin.” Well words are like the venom the serpents spread, they’re not encouraging or strengthening but can slowly change the rhythm of the heart. Who are we to judge like we were raised a perfect angel, ha! You don’t know what people have been enduring; slandering words will never help. We need to remember to be good sons and good brothers.

  12. When we are overcome with grief and sorrow it is easy to fall into a state of mind where we want to see harm comes to those who have hurt us. However, true forgiveness releases those who have hurt us from paying the penalties they deserve. How many of us can stand in judgement and claim we have never hurt someone else or were less than perfect in all of our actions? The book of Psalms is sometimes thought of as a worship and praise book. That is only partially true, once you start digging in. This whole chapter is about revenge. Where is the forgiveness? We must reach for and attain forgiveness to move on with our lives. We cannot get stuck in thinking of how God is going to “get” them in the end.

Psalms 58:10 NLT The godly will rejoice when they see injustice avenged. They will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.
Psalms 58:11 NLT Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”

A great temptation for the believer today is to look into the lives of the wicked and question God as to why the wicked appear to prosper in this life. We might wonder what is the benefit of living for the Lord. Well, one day (according to the scripture) the righteous will see injustice avenged. On that day, the righteous will understand that there truly is a reward for them and a reward for the wicked as well.

  14. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Each of us is going to either get rewarded or suffer the consequences. I don’t know why many have problems following the Lords commands when all they have to do is believe. The devil always wants to make us doubt from the very begening with Adam and Eve. But one day we will be in front of God and we will be judged on what and didn’t do. I want the Lord to know who I am. I want Him to say my good and faithful servant. ”I don’t want to stand next to Jeff Loury and God question me why Jeff that is blind went to outreach more than you or have more faith than you.” Lord help me be more on fire for you Lord!!!

  15. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

We have a reward already, in that we can be righteous. We fail God on a daily basis and the mere opportunity to be able to live a righteous life is evidence of His grace but we have a very sovereign God who rewards us for living the right life. Amen!

  16. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

I’m reminded of Pastor’s message from last night when he said how awful it would be to wait at a train stop all day and leave just right before the train gets there. We have all worked toward our reward, we cannot walk away now! We have come too far to turn around! We need to continually live a righteous life and work toward that great reward!!

  17. 10 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked

  18. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
    Psalms 58:11 NLT
God will judges the righteous and the wicked
God bless the righteous the ones who follow his way

  19. Rejoicing of Righteous
Psalm 58:10,11 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. 11. So that man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

    The Message
The righteous will call up their friends when they see the wicked get their reward, Serve up their blood in goblets as they toast one another, Everyone cheering, ‘IT’S WORTH IT TO PLAY BY THE RULES! God’s handing out trophies and tending the earth!’

  20. 4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

    Dangerous People

The death adder is a very venomous snake. It has what’s called a neurotoxin, which is a toxin that disrupts the electric signals to from the brain to the body. It also has a toxin in its venom that allows the blood to keep flowing. This is so it’s victims could potentially bleed to death if not killed by the stopping of the neurnet of the body.

Now how does this apply to peopl?
When someone bites us mentally or spiritually. They are deceiving you. Stopping your thought process and letting you bleed internally to where you spiritually die on the pew of the church. Be careful around these people. They are the ones that your friends, family, and even pastor warns you against. Because you don’t know when they will strike or who too. But if bit we get to the house of God/hospital there you can get treatment. Prayer and reading of God’s word. Fasting. These are all medicines of this venom.

  21. I Love To Worship The Lord
    Against Unjust Judges
David rebukes judges who pervert and calls on God to judge them. The righteous can take comfort in thE certainty that ultimately God will reward them while punishing their oppressors.
I am really looking forward to the upcoming April as Pastor says this is a great oppurntity to get involved. I pray for a great harvest thank you Jesus for what you are going to do this week-end

  22. GO IN FAITH

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

Our walk of FAITH is one that is frequently challenged by test and trials to prove our FAITH in GOD. The definition of FAITH is “the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”. Occasionally in trials we feel as if we are taken advantage of and even have been used for someone elses personal gain and or advantage. The occasions are opportunities for satan to fill our heart with resentment and a grudge. However, as we read in James 5 on Wednesday evening we are not to grudge one another.

The psalmist again affirms and confirms the reason to not grudge. The apostle Paul through JESUS our savior has given us insight in how to approach these trials.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

This promise in the WORD of GOD, gives us HOPE and FAITH to continue in the LORD.

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

We must GO reach the lost in FAITH. Our reward is eternal LIFE with JESUS.

  23. Psalms 58
    4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

With already so much confusion in the world we must guard ourself from any evil speaking. We should guard ourself so much mor are the coming of the Lord nears. I was reminded of the 5 Wise and the 5 Foolish this morning.

There were 10 Virgins. They all had lamps. 5 let their oil get low and they did not have enough. They asked the wise to give them some of their oil. The 5 wise had to refuse. I am sure there was sorrow to the 5 Wise that they could not give to their close friends but they knew that they to would be left behind if they gave their oil away. The 5 foolish were left.
There had to be a lot of chatter going on about the 5 wise, I am sure the 5 foolish tried their best to bring down and use any tatic they could to get the 5 wise to give them oil.

The enemy tries every way to distract the church the people of God, his distractions are poison like a serpent. His venom will kill if you allow it. We must stay close to God we must be wise we must not allow those who have lost the oil make us feel as if we should share and give them ours. We cannot let the words of others stray us. God will reward your faithfulness and He will heal your pain as some make the wrong turn. Not everything is a sin but many times they are just a foolish act which could lead to not having any oil left.
It’s a painful process to see or hear things and have thoughts of why why why ,but remeber we all have the choice either to be Wise or Foolish.
Our God is faithful, Stay in the Word, don’t be afraid of your leadership. They are not ignorant and they are the ones that have to answer to God not you as a follower. So delight yourself in the loving kindness of God and the strength that our Church has to be ready for the coming of God.

  24. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

When we face a judge in the court of law, he has the power to “fine” us, “sentence” us or let us go free. Depending on the circumstances surrounding the case, he must weigh the evidence carefully before making his ruling.

God sees all and knows all and is weighing the evidence against the wicked very carefully. He can not violate His Word, and will use the Word to evaluate the sentence deserved to those in question.

We must let God be God. It’s so easy for us to take matters into our own hands, but we are not the judge of mankind. We don’t know all the circumstances, nor do we need to. Let God be God and let Him do His work. Keep your eyes and heart fixed on Heaven. Don’t be distracted, don’t be detoured and most of all don’t turn back.

I’m never gonna look back, I’ve made up my mind
I’ve got too much invested to lose my time
Through the rivers, over the mountains and plains
I’m never gonna look back ’til I see Heaven’s gates.

  25. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

We need to be very careful to be the ones who this chapter describes. We as humans tend to judge people, but before we do that we need to examine our hearts make sure we are clean as snow.

  26. Psalms 58:11, “So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeship in the earth.

There is a reward for the righteous, but the only way we are going to attain it is to “Stay The Course.”

  27. 11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

There are consequences to the actions we choose. Sin leads to destruction.

  28. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

Lord I speak words of righteousness! I’m one of yours and you live within me! I pray that my words would be what you want. For your word is like honey unto me and it is sweeter than anything I’ve ever known!

  29. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

  30. An important word is “weigh” , reason being is cause these two verses 1&2
are about judges in the court of law. This is where the judges say if people are good , bad, right or wrong. a judge weighs evidence.
Verses 3&5 “wicked people” basicly mean the bad or wicked judges & leaders. these people have been wicked since since birth they are THE wicked blind snake. they kill and are deaf to the word of God.
They will neither listen to his word , and purposely disobey the word of God.
THis is a prime example of how David said that they are like lions. THey eat animals , people and kill the righteous .
Let these wicked judges die and hurt or kill no longer.
God will answer us if we pray
In 10 &11 they “will wash there feet in the blood of wicked & this is a linne many people will not like
but the wicked will die and the righteous will live.

  31. 2 No, in your heart you devise injustice,
and your hands mete out violence on the earth. NLT

We can be the people that can bring peace to this world by showing these people God’s love instead of bringing violence!

  32. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

-we cant be bias as we preach the gospel. God is the judge he will always judge rightly.

10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

-the meek shall inherit the earth, but the weak shall be carried in dirt cause they just carried the curse.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

    – our reward drives us to live in good righteous.

  33. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
    Psalms 58:11 NLT

At times we will be hurt and May be angry by what others have done. Even our own family might of hurt us and we want to take matters into our own hand because that is what human nature does. We must remember that we are His children and that He is our protector and our provider and that He has everything under control even if we can’t see it.

  34. Josiah: 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
Are you the same on the outside as on the inside? The Bible says in Mathew 15:18 “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart; and they defile the man.” This is why the Church is different; because our hearts are different. We can feel peace and calm about our life. The world can not which is why they wear make up and try to improve how they look. This is why they wear jewelry and swear. However the Church has a peace from listening to God’s word. Romans five:one clarifies this when it says “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”. For in the end the Church will prevail and God will win. He won before it ever began and the righteous will be justified before God. This is why I praise the Lord because He cares and died on the cross so that we could be saved. PRAISE BE TO GOD. BLESSED BE HIS NAME. “LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD!” BLESSED BE HIS NAME.

  35. 4 They spit venom like deadly snakes; they are like cobras that refuse to listen.

The unrighteous can spit out lies and have no problem doing it. They wont listen to anyone can continue to talk and disagree. Just like snakes, they can’t hear what is being said to them. A lie is just like a snake bite, it painfully hurts spiritually. It takes a long time to heal from a lie.

  36. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

    John Gill’s Commentary:
    All men ought to speak that which is right and truth; but especially judges on the bench, who are to judge the people with just judgment, ( Deuteronomy 16:18 ) ; but here this is doubted of, and called in question; at least their sincerity in giving judgment: yea, it is denied; for this interrogation carries in it a strong denial; and the meaning is, that they did not speak righteousness, or that which was just and right in the cause of David, when before them;
do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
no, they did not; they were unjust judges. The psalmist calls them “the sons of men”, as in ( 1 Samuel 26:19 ) , in distinction from God the Judge of all, and to put them in mind of their frailty and mortality; for though they were gods by office, they were but men, and should die like men, and be accountable to the supreme Judge for all their proceedings in judgment here, ( Psalms 82:1 Psalms 82:6 Psalms 82:7 ) .

  37. The righteous shall walk in victory. We must follow what the Lord has spoken if we want to continue to walk in victory. As children of God we cannot the things in our life to turn us away from the plan of God.

  38. Nicole

People need to be careful not to judge as we all have issues. Many times we look unfairly on others because we may have the same issues. This causes many other issues to go with it. Then our words become poison that spreads and we judge others, paralyzingly or killing them along the way.

    Michael

  39. 1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

This Psalm is a good reminder that what is in my heart will be shown in how I speak and how I act. If my heart is good and I dwell on good things then this will be portrayed. If I am even thinking on evil things then this in turn will be portrayed in my actions and speech. It is very important that I guard my heart and my mind against things of this world! I cannot risk where I spend eternity due to me not being watchful enough over what I allow into my life!

Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

  40. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
    Psalms 58:11 NLT

There is a reward for those who live for God. Do not get tired of doing good for God will be a just judge. Let him have rule over your life and live righteously before Him for he will judge justly

  41. 3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Growth is a process and your position in that process will establish what will bee born. If you are infected by someone that is walking wickedly it can taint you. We must learn to guard ourselves and babies in Christ from wickedness

  42. 6 Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord.
This verse encourages me because our God has already broken the teeth of of adversary the one the young lions follow. In Peter 5:8 it says Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: .The key there in Peter 5:8 is roaring lion, because only the old and toothless lions hunt with a roar. This is because they can not hunt normally, so they use fear and roar at a herd in hope of causing a stampede and eat what ever animals are trampled in fear. So since he roars it means he can’t hunt which we have nothing to fear .And if the leader, has been broken what do we have to fear from those who follow. Nothing, that is why this verse is so encouraging because as David is praying this pray it has already been answered, before he even prayed it.

  43. “These wicked people are born sinners; even from birth they have lied and gone their own way. They spit venom like deadly snakes; they are like cobras that refuse to listen, ignoring the tunes of the snake charmers, no matter how skillfully they play.”
    Psalms 58:3-5 NLT

Lord, deliver me from evil! That my mind would be transformed to think as you think. My heart be in tune with the Spirit. LORD lead me in Truth! I love Truth! I Trust you!

  44. Romans 3:10-18 gives a vivid description of what unredeemed human beings are like. Among other things, ” The poison of vipers is on their lips” (Ro 3:13). Their words can be deadly, and deep down they’re mean as snake, wolves in sheep’s clothing. Unwilling to open their hearts and minds to his counsel, they are like deaf and deadly serpents, refusing to be subdued by even the most heavenly tune. Wise Solomon tells us that fools despise godly instruction (Pr 1:7). If we are trying to get through to a fool, beware that a nasty bite can be a part of the process. Reaching the lost takes being willing to take risks to move through the trenches to save souls from the broad of vipers. God will protect us from the venom of the enemy. Just like he did Paul when he shook the snake off into the fire and was unharmed in Acts 28:5.

  45. Hannah: “11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.” There is a reward in heaven that is greater than all the riches in the world for each person that serves the Lord. Every person who serves the Lord should let Gods’ light shine through them so people who are lost can see that light, and want to draw nearer to God. They should know from our testomines and how we act that there is a living God who cares about each and every person.I never want to hide God’s light under a bush, but I want his light o shine throughout the whole world. Never stop being that one light, but continue on so more people will come into the kingdom of God.

  46. 11 Then at last everyone will say,
    “There truly is a reward for those who live for God;
surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”

There are consequences for every choice we make. Yes, there will be hardship, but greater is the reward!

“Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.” Matt 5:12

  47. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

This chapter reminded me of some things that are going on in my job. One employee is trying to spread lies. That deceit of the enemy trying to creep in: I pray for this person all the time, but to no avail. The enemy has such a grip on him that he will use any situation to try and make me look bad. God has shown me that no matter what I’m covered. The unrighteous will be judged and the righteous shall go to their eternal reward. I love this chapter cause it’s right there what will happen to the wicked. Thank you Jesus for helping me stay the course of your kingdom.

  48. This Psalm was spoken to Israel although it’s queries and warnings could easily be spoken to the world today. Even our daily proverb, ‘There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet not washed from their filthiness.’ As you read through these, you cannot help but think of the many examples you see around you every day… human nature is not really any different today than it was then. For all our technology, society’s morality is hopeless without God. We need to be that light to the world even when we feel we’re the only light shining amongst those we interact with in the world… particularly when we feel that is the case. It’s not an excuse to let our light go dim, the psalmist also assures us their day of judgement will come. When it does, we don’t want anyone standing on the wrong side of judgement to look over and be surprised when they see us standing with the redeemed. Let our light so shine before men that they would have no question of where we stand; even if they choose to turn away, they’ll know where resides a source of light when they reach that point in their life that they finally realize they too need God!

  49. 10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
We just cannot be consumed by what others can do to us because we know the ending and the Lord wins. He rewards his children and takes care of us both in this life and in eternity with him. Mat 10:28 “ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

  50. 1 – 2 ( NLT ) 1. Justice – do you rulers* know the meaning of the word? Do you judge the people fairly? 2. No! You plot injustice in your hearts. You spread violence throughout the land.

  51. Psalm 58:1 1-2 Is this any way to run a country? Is there an honest politician in the house? Behind the scenes you brew cauldrons of evil, behind closed doors you make deals with demons.

Could David had said it better? This is something that should be said of government on C-SPAN. More and more we know more about David, I pray to have a leader like what is said of him. A man after Gods heart. Someone that, even is he is not perfect he will always seek Gods counsel to run the country. The his primary job is to lead the people of God is Gods will.

  52. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.(Psalms 58:11 KJV)

When wrong is done under the form of law, it is worse than any other; especially it is grievous to behold those who profess to be children of God, joining together against any of his people. We should thank the Lord for merciful restraints; we should be more earnest in seeking renewing grace, more watchful over ourselves, and more patient under the effects of fallen nature in others.
