Psalm 68

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.

Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

10 Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

12 Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.

13 Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.

14 When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.

15 The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

16 Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the Lord will dwell in it for ever.

17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LordGod might dwell among them.

19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.

21 But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.

22 The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

23 That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.

24 They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

25 The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

26 Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

27 There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.

28 Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

29 Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

30 Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.

31 Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God.

32 Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; Selah:

33 To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.

34 Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.

35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

  1. 7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
8 The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10 Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.

When God moves, there is no doubt behind it. When God moves, it is painful for some and peaceful for but God doesn’t change. He just moved. Let us always be in the place of his rain to receive his inheritance. Let us feel him moving in all that we do. Jesus name!

  2. Psalm 68:19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

    Daily

I admit, I have trouble with this. As I think about all the things that God does in a daily basis for me, most of them I’m so oblivious to, and can’t help but to kicking myself for breaking my commitment to do this portion of it.

We can always give the excuse and say that we read the Bible and not necessarily Psalms, and lie to ourselves that we do, when I reality the blog at times is the Word we put in our body.

Shame on me for committing to something before God and not following through. Forgive me Jesus!

  3. 4. Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the LORD- rejoice in his presence!

    19. Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude

    26. Praise God, all you people of Israel; praise the LORD, the source of Israel’s life.

    32. Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth. Sing praises to the Lord. Interlude

    33. Sing to the one who rides across the ancient heavens, his mighty voice thundering from the sky.

    34. Tell everyone about God’s power. His majesty shines down on Israel; his strength is mighty in the heavens.

    35. God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God! NLT

    Sing unto God!
    Praise His Name!
    Tell everyone about Him!
    He is Awesome!
    He is worthy!
    Praise be to God!

  4. 1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

The enemy will continue to war against us. But the almighty will conquer. The wicked will be defeated and the saved shall be glad! We are revival ready!!!

  5. 2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
As Sanctified Holy Ghost filled Christian’s we have the power over the adversary.
We will remain victorious knowing there is power in the name of Jesus

6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
God will protect you, he will sheild you and he wont leave or put you in a situation he knows you CANNOT handle.

  6. Psalms 68:6 (KJV)
“God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound by chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land,”
    Psalms 68:6 (NLT)
“God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy. But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.”

At one time, we were all prisoners and bound by the chains of sin and sat in darkness. BUT “Thanks be to God,” who came to loose our chains and set the captive free and “to bring out the prisoners from prison and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” (Isaiah 42:7)

Thank You JESUS for Setting Us Free from Sin and Calling Us Out of Darkness and Into YOUR Marvellous Light!

  7. GO AND BE GLAD

3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

There is promised great JOY, PEACE and LIBERTY to those who live righteous. The righteous are people that do the RIGHT thing, not always the convent thing or the popular thing, but the RIGHT thing by the WORD of GOD.

The TRUTH needs no defense, it defends itself. TRUTH is RIGHT, regardless of how painful it may be. When we act the RIGHT way (BIBLICAL way) and do the RIGHT thing (BIBLICAL thing) we position ourselves to rejoice, as we know that we are covered and protected by the great I AM.

We should thank GOD for what he does, but we should PRAISE GOD for who HE is. GOD is a rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM. We can be glad because we do the RIGHT thing before GOD.

Lets GO do the RIGHT thing, thank JESUS for what HE has done and PRAISE him for who HE is.

  8. Psalm 68:
Let God Arise and let thy enemies be scattered.
When God arrived on the scene of our situation, the enemies can not stay. The darkness flees and the atmosphere becomes as the noonday. Thankful that God is an ever present help in time of need. I noticed in verse 3
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly
I’m reminded of the I stand joy that comes when the enemy does flee, you sense a peace and immediatly feel the urge to rejoice.. Its a good thing to rejoice because we know darkness has departed . ~ sis Ali
Thankful to know a MIGHTY God!

  9. But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord — rejoice in his presence!
    Psalms 68:3‭-‬4 NLT
When GOD is with you nothing can bring you down when we are in his presence we are filled with joy the joy of the Lord is in us

  10. iLove to GO Blog
Psalms 68:6 KJV  God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Those who are rebellious dwell in a dry land. While they think they are free from the rule of the Lord, but they are dry as dead men’s bones on the inside.

Psalms 68:9 KJV  Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

Those who trust in the Lord, they shall be watered. Out of their bellies shall flow rivers of living water…
James 3:10-12 KJV  Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.  (11)  Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?  (12)  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

Some folks think they have living water on the inside, but it’s really salty bitter water.

  11. 1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

How can we let God Arise in our lives so the enemy will flee? By Praising Him, lifting Him up, bragging on His Marvelous works, and watch as His presence becomes so strong that the enemy is completely destroyed!!!!

  12. 4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

Today is Palm Sunday and this a great verse to represent this day in history. Today is a day of praise to God and we are to extol him- the one True God; Jehovah! Verse 5 calls Him the “Holy Habitation” I am thankful that I can abide in His in which is a place that is Holy or set apart from this world and the troubles we have here. Thank you Jesus for You are the “Great I AM!”

  13. I Love To Worship The Lord
David celebrates Gods power and goodness befoRe reviewing His historic acts on behalf of Israel. These culminate in Gods choice of Jerusalem as the site of his sanctuary. The result of this triumph is celebrated by Gods people who now call on him to scatter their enemies and praise Him for His majestic rule.

  14. 25 The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.

Praise preceded the victory yet again. So many times we see referenced in the word of God where praise was the important ingredient preparing the path for victory to be brought forth.

Never give up your praise, no matter what comes your way, Keep your praise alive.

  15. On the right side of God

35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

If you are a friend of God then he is pleasent and he has many benifits but if you are on the wrong side he is terrible. I want to be on the right side of God, where I’m safe.

  16. “When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Zalmon.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    1. Zalmon = “shady”
    1. an Ahohite, one of David’s mighty warriors
    n pr loc
    2. a wooded hill in Samaria near Shechem

Zalmon was a shady place however when the Lord came and scattered out the kings, rulers who were not glorifying him, it became white as snow. God’s train filled all of Zalmon. God’s glory was so great that it this shady space was changed into a reflective Snow White brilliance.

  17. 7-8 When you, God, went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness,[d] the earth shook, the heavens poured down rain, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.

We are in the Lords army and we are mighty warriors! When God marched across the land the enemy feared his great power. We have the power of God inside of us and we are the mighty warriors for this city of Fort Worth! Revival is happening now and it’s time for the mighty warriors to walk across this land, claim it in Jesus name and the enemy will flee in his name! We are taking our city by force from the enemy and we’ll see the revival that God has in store for us! 102 souls are out in the city waiting for mighty people of God help fight against the enemy! The devil better watch out because the mighty warriors of POFW are coming to take our city by force in Jesus name!

  18. 5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Thank you for your Faithfullness Lord!

  19. 6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Children of God are never alone. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us. It may seem like we are alone, but it is at these times that ee must choose to believe that He is there. We must believe that He is there solely based on the fact that the Bible says it. This is the very essence and requirement of faith – to walk, not on what we see and feel, but on what we know – a knowing based solely on what the word of God says.

Silence never means that God is not there. He is always there. Silence is a test of obedience. It is the indication that we are now expected to make a decision. A decision, not based on the comfort of His presence, or the leading of His Spirit, but rather, a decision based on knowing who God is.

  20. Powerful testimonies of God in this Psalm yet something struck out that is worth sharing. After declaring his majesty: ‘O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.’ A reminder of God’s presence in the midst of his people as they wandered in the wilderness… a presence that was so strong, nature itself had to respond to being in the presence of his glory! He did not just send rain among his people, when he chose to confirm their inheritance in his kingdom, he sent them plentiful rain. Yet it was not the power of the blessing of God but the following verses that caught my attention: ‘Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.’

We expect God to move in the midst of our praise and worship. When everyone is dancing and rejoicing in his presence, it is no real surprise when God begins to move. Yet the psalmist brings it to our attention that God chose to respond to Israel when they were weary in the trial and tribulation. They still knew who to cry out to, but they had no real strength or hope in themselves… but they knew they were weary of the situation. The move of God that came was powerful, but it did not begin in praise and worship… it began with a heartfelt cry to God in prayer with no idea of how he was going to respond.

When we find ourselves in a similar mindset: when we’re just weary of all life is throwing at us and don’t know where else to go, it is still appropriate to cry out to God. Not only is it appropriate, it is the best thing we can do in the situation! We may not feel like running and shouting, but we still know who to go to in our hour of need… and he wants us to do so! It is not a shame to become weary, so don’t let pride keep us from going back to the well of our salvation and allowing God to fill us to overflowing again! He will move again in a powerful way, just as he did for the children of Israel… just give him the opportunity to strengthen first. Enter into the gates of God’s house with thanksgiving and give him the praise and allow him the opportunity to lead you to victory again and again and again!

  21. 1Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

    Let God fight the battles.

Take your hands off and allow God to fight. When we let God fight our battles, we win. We are his children and he will fight for us. We just have to let him. Let go and let God. That’s it! It’s really that simple.

  22. Josiah: 7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

God went before Israel in a pillar of fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day to lead them to the promise land. He marched through the wilderness with them. God goes through the wilderness with us. He is there with us when we go through trials. Selah. Think upon this. God is with us. And if God is with us who can stand against. Psalm105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Saint John 1:1 “In the begining was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” His word is my lamp… and since God is His word God shows us the way to go. He is the light to my path showing me where to GO. Something that. I can trust in as I go through life.

  23. 3. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. 4. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him. 5. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. I praise you I extol you O my God !!!!

  24. 4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him

Thank you Jesus!!! For your everlasting love!!! Being able to wake up every morning and know that we have an amazing God whose there to lead us the way every day ❤being able to worship your mighty name!!!! HALLELUYAH TYJ

  25. Let us sing praises unto God, he is worthy of it. When we sing praises to Jesus we make too much noise to hear what the enemy is saying. Let’s keep our mouth open with the praises of God and the enemy will have to flee.

  26. “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

DAILY! He daily loads us with benefits! God is so good. He will never leave us to carry the load alone. So thankful that He continues to bless and walk with us daily.

  27. A victory worship parade that honors the Lord’s triumphant battle is not uncommon in Israel’s history. These joyfilled moments celebrate occasions such as the ark of the covenant journey to Jerusalem (2Sam 6:12-15) and Jesus humble entrance there (Jn 12:12-15). These parades are far more than merely fun and exciting events however; they express their heartfelt worship to the King of glory “Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, ..He is the King of glory” (Ps 24:8-10).

  28. 35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

God gives us all the tools we need to receive the HG through his mighty power we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

  29. 1 Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
When GOD rises up there is no devil in hell that can stop Him. We are to stand strong with God and arise with Him. Arise again sin, arise against the enemy resist him and he will flee!

  30. Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
    Psalms 68:34 KJV

Our strength is in the joy of the Lord. We give God the honor for his excellent and holy strength. We are strong when he is within us.

  31. Verse 35 AMP “O God, You are awesome and profoundly majestic from Your sanctuary; The God of Israel gives strength and power to His people.
Blessed be God!” Bro. Smith preached about that power that God gives to His people. I pray Lord that you continue to bless and strengthen POFW.

Ephesians 6:10 AMP says “In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.”

  32. 34 Tell everyone about God’s power. His majesty shines down on Israel; his strength is mighty in the heavens.
35 God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God! (NLT)

    Praise be to God! Hallelujah!!

  33. 24 They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.
26 Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel.

    Praise goes before the victory!

  34. 19Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.

We are the children of God. Every now and then we need to be carried and feel secure. As parents we give that sense of security, protection and love when we carry our children. Allow God to do the same for you!

  35. Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah , and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
    Psalms 68:4‭-‬5 KJV

    ex·tol
    ikˈstōl/Submit
    verb
    praise enthusiastically.

Heb. 7311: rum-to be high or exalted, rise

This is where I need to be in my life. To exalt God in the highest. I know that God has pulled me from the pit and set me on a firm foundation. It is up to me to continue to build that foundation: as God is the head of me. I’m the head of my home and I have taken dominion over my home. The enemy has no place in my life or my home. I thank you Jesus for raising me to be the man that you have called me to be.

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord , and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
    Psalms 145:1‭-‬3 KJV

  36. 9 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.

God alone is our strength and hope in the midst of this world. He goes before us and guides our paths. He will give us strength and wisdom for our lives and never fails to both hear our cry in our hour of need and deliver us. All we have to do is give God the reigns in our lives and let him lead us and not us directing ourselves.

  37. Hannah: “20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death. 35 O God, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.” He is the God of our salvation! He is my strength. My refuge. My Redeemer. My deliverer and much more. It is up to God where we will go after our death, and I desire to always do everything in my power to do the will of God in my life. He is terrible unto his enemies but he is the one who gives strength and power unto his people. The Lord is mighty and worthy of all our praise. He is the one who comforts us when we are distressed and is our refuge in our time of need. He will always be there for us and he always has. Never stop serving the Lord and always pour out your praises unto him.

  38. Psalm68:5 ( English Amp) A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows is God in His holy habitatation. I am so thankfull that God took out of the darkness and put me in his marvious light. Thank you God for your protection.

  39. 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Amen! Daily he gives blessings. Every day we wake up is a new blessings and opportunity to praise his name.

  40. 19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
The lord loads us with blessings everyday. Our breath, steps, voice, and ability to go to the house of God is all a blessing that he loads upon us. When we read the word he blesses us with knowledge and wisdom. Always think of The little things because they all add up to big things. Thank you Jesus

  41. 3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.
19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

When I think on these verses, I am reminded of all I have to praise God for. The first of which is that God gives me joy and happiness no matter what happens. That He is great and greatly to be praised. No only does God, bless us daily, He is the God of our salvation. So I am reminded to sing to the Lord a new sing, praise him and extol, reach higher, farther in praise to my God whose name is Jesus. For he is great and greatly to be praised.

  42. The Lord gives the word, and a great army brings the good news.
    Psalms 68:11 NLT

When God gives the Word, you know it will come to pass and there is nothing that can change it because He is God.
