Psalm 75

Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

  1. 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

When people understand that God is in charge, and they are not, then it becomes a lot easier to accept whatever He decides is going to happen. Allowing that to circumvent their mind, gives them freedom from trying to control the situation and worrying about what is happening to them at that time. It is a level of trust in God, that He knows what hes doing and he decides what and how things are going to happen. .
The revelation that God is Judge can set us free from worrying about how things will turn up. Allowing that way of thinking to have dominion in our minds will expand everything for us. For the Lord, He is God.

  2. Verse 1 MSG “We thank you, God, we thank you—your Name is our favorite word; your mighty works are all we talk about.” Same verse NKJV “We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.” Thank you Jesus for thinking that I was worth dying for.

Psalm 9:1 AMP says “I will give thanks and praise the Lord, with all my heart; I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds. I will rejoice and exult in you; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” Same verses MSG “I’m thanking you, God, from a full heart, I’m writing the book on your wonders. I’m whistling, laughing, and jumping for joy; I’m singing your song, High God.” I will bless the Lord at all times.

The greatest plot of satan is division in the Kingdom of GOD, especially in the BODY of Christ. He is the master accuser, the sly slanderer, the deadly deceiver. The plans and plots of the adversary are clear and precise, turn believers against themselves.

Too often the carnal mind will fall for this plot, even thou it is identified as such. The spirit of pride will not allow forgiveness, it only seeks vengence. We will never comprehend or understand everything that JESUS says and does. However, HE is GOD, he created all things and by HIM all things consist. The Psalm clarifies what our role is NOT.

Do NOT complain, accuse, judge, discredit or criticize what has happened in our lives.

Keep a PRAISE for JESUS on your lips and not an arrogant accussation. Allow GOD to be GOD.

  4. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
Bless that wonderful name of Jesus give that to all he done bless that wonderful of Jesus

  5. 10. For God says, “I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the godly.” NLT

The wicked only have whatever power God allows them to have, for as long as He allows it. The righteous have God living in them, and have the authority to call upon His power at any time.

    Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. KJV

    We Are Mighty!

  6. Psalms 75:4-7 (AMP)
    4) I said to the arrogant, Do not boast; And to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn (of self-glorification).
    5) Do not lift up your (defiant and aggressive) horn on high, Do not speak with a stiff neck.
    6) For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the desert comes exaltation.
    7) But God is the Judge; He puts down one and lifts up another.

The scripture that came to mind as I read this is St. Matt. 23:12, “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.”

  7. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

What a fitting verse for today. Resurrection Sunday. Thank you Jesus for what you did for me. You died and rose again. You defeated death, hell, and the grave. You overcame the powers of this world. You are the only King. Because of your blood shed, my sins are washed away. Because of you overcoming the grave, I do not have to fear death.becaise of you, we may have life everlasting. Thank you Jesus for what you did on calvary.

  8. Today we celebrate the name of Jesus and his resurrection: ‘Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.’ We worship him for who he is and the magnitude of his love that was demonstrated by his sacrifice on Calvary. His wondrous works even today declare that he is near, so we continued to give thanks and praise unto him. Whatsoever we do in word or deed, we do it in Jesus name as unto the Lord! That means we do it with all our heart, mind, and strength that our small portion might be blessed of his hand to truly accomplish his perfect will in our lives today!

He has been so good to his people, a single day or week or even a month of praise no matter how great would not be enough. So ‘I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.’ We will sing those praises together, we will worship his name together, we will gather in his sanctuary together, and as we lift him up, as his word declares, He will draw all unto him! He will add daily to the church such as should be saved. As that portion is gathered in today, even if perhaps they came thinking to satisfy a momentary tradition, let us be ready to receive them. Let us be ready to introduce them to the one that no tradition will ever be sufficient to satisfy. Let us lift him up in worship and praise, let us allow a liberty in his word and at his altars, let us introduce them to Jesus! Let today be their first day of forever!

  9. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

We GIVE thanks. Freely. We GIVE Him Thanks for the POWER that is in His Name! For there is so much power in the Name of Jesus!

Psalms 75:4-6 NLT “I warned the proud, ‘Stop your boasting!’ I told the wicked, ‘Don’t raise your fists! (5) Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.'” (6) For no one on earth—from east or west, or even from the wilderness—should raise a defiant fist.

WOW, as I read this I had to do some research and the following is what I found.

Assyrian depictions of the goddess Ishtar show her raising a clenched fist.[2] A raised fist was used as a logo by the Industrial Workers of the World[3] in 1917. The graphic symbol was popularized in 1948 by Taller de Gráfica Popular, a print shop in Mexico that used art to advance revolutionary social causes.[4] The symbol has been picked up and incorporated around the world by various oppressed groups. In 2015 it has emerged in the southeast area of Ukraine among the separatists battling the Ukraine Kiev government forces, along with the phrase “¡No Pasarán!”.[5]
The image gallery shows how a raised fist is used in visual communication. Combined with another graphic element, a raised fist is used to convey polysemous gestures and opposing forces.[6] Depending on the elements combined, the meaning of the gesture changes in tone and intention. For example, a hammer and sickle combined with a raised fist is part of communist symbolism, while the same fist combined with a Venus symbol represents Feminism, and combined with a book, it represents librarians.
A raised-fist icon appears prominently as a feminist symbol on the covers of two major books by Robin Morgan, Sisterhood is Powerful, published in 1970,[7] and Sisterhood Is Forever, in 2003.[8]
A raised fist incorporates the outline of the state of Wisconsin, as designed in 2011, for union protests against the state rescinding collective bargaining.[9]

  11. For God say, ” I will break the strength of the wicked, but I will increase the power of the gadly. Psalms 75:10 NLT

We are mighty through God. Jesus is Alive and Well.

  12. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

Thank you Thank you Thank you!
On this Ressurection Day of Celebration!

  13. 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

God is the one that puts up and takes down, we must not think more highly of ourselves than we ought. If everything we say and do is about “us” or “me” or “I” then we are prideful and are exalting self. When we let God exalt us, there is no question of authority.

  14. 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

When you are speaking out of pride or a stiff neck no one wants to listen. Everyone deals with some amount of pride but when you feel it creeping up on you it is time to pray and wait to speak until you can speak out of humility. God resists the proud but he will listen to the humble.

  15. Psalm75: 7 ( English Amp). But God is the Judge! He puts down one and lifts up another. Be careful not to judge anyone. Don’t criticize , Try to be a good example. Our Mighty God is our Judge.

  16. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

What a fitting verse for Easter. We have been listening to whining and complaining for weeks. Today, the day our Lord concurred death – the first verse is all about thanks! I understand a portion of the population has lost focus on the purpose of this day. Bunnies and eggs may rule the isles of the stores and decorations but it is crucial that we do not forget the meaning of the season.

  17. God is our judge. By his word are we judged. If you want to know what you’re doing wrong or right, go to the word of God. His word will never lead us astray.

  18.  6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

These verses just reminded me of pastor’s teaching on spiritual authority. That one does not raise one’s self up that is how Lucy fell. But instead authority comes from God though who he has given authority. And to retain spiritual authority over the forces of darkness in this world, one must be submitted to the people and pastor in authority over you. May I remain submitted, to God’s will, those over me and pastor.

  19. Josiah: 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
Romans 2:11 says “For there is no respect of persons with God.” It does not matter how holy you may be or seem to be if there is ought or unforgiveness in your heart God is not impressed. God is not a respector of persons. He is a respector if hearts. The people who have pure hearts. The servants who build there house upon the rock. The ones who raise there kids in God’s word. The ones who are a light to this world. The ones who are like that city set on a hill. For God blesses his people. 1 Timothy 4:8 really sums this up when it says “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” Our strength is not going to save us and bring others to Christ. It is God’s strength that is going to save me. This psalm is my pray: 9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.. BLESSED BE THE LORD OF LORDS. LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  20. Hannah: “10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.” The righteous in the Lord will live forever with the Lord in heaven. It is not worth serving this world because you will only be brought to destruction. It is not a good time to backslide and walk away from the Lord. It is a good time to get right with the Lord and reach out to others all around the world. My desire is that I will bring as many people with me as possible to that heavenly place. Each of us serving the Lord will have many treasures in heaven. It doesn’t matter what you have in this world because having eternal life with God is worth more than all the riches in this world. It will do me no good to have all the riches in the world and to lose my own soul. Each of us should keep walking with the Lord even when you see no hope because God has a perfect will for each and everyone of us. He wants to bring his people as close to him as possible. Never quit and always turn to the Lord for the answer. He will provide for his people and those who serve him.

  21. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.
1Pet 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time”.
When we are of a humble spirit, God can use us for his kingdom because we are not focused on what we can do of ourselves but rather what God can do through us and HE ALONE will receive all of the honor and glory!

  22. But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

We will send praises to Our God. My saver lives!!

  23. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

I have praised the Lord all day long. Thanked him over and over again for the blessings hes giving me amd im constantly remimded why im still standing here.
The Love Jesus Christ had for us. The sacrifice that was given. The people cried out how they didnt care how they accepted the fact his blopd wpuld be om their hands/our hands…the hands of our ancestors. They chose a thief over the Prince of Peace…and right now it occurred to me that people are still doimg the exact thing. Choosing the enemy over peace. Having peace in pur lives and approaching these “wolves”…i have never felt more fearless in all my life. All because i came to see a man. A man the gave his lofe for us and rose from the dead 3 days later. On this day we celebrate Jesus going home to Heaven. My God is MIGHTY.
    we are MIGHTY.
    God bless you all.

  24. 1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob

We have so much to be thankful for today as we celebrate his resurrection, the power of his name and victory over the enemy. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think. I give him a special praise and thanks today because he filled my dad today with the Holy Ghost! No words can adequately express my love and appreciation for my God! There’s nothing my God can’t do.

  25. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

There is one Judge and that is God. I feel it is important that we learn to exault Him and let Him work everything else out. As we live our lives to Glorify Him He will work out the details of where everyone needs to be.

  26. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

It is important to remember that living a life holy unto God is also one of humility; not to lift ones ownself up, but rather to lift God up! Our eternal salvation does not depend on our status in this world among men, but rather our status with God. He knows every situation and everyone’s strengths and weaknesses. It is with this knowledge and with His tender loving care that He will walk us through situations that will bring us closer to Him. In our walk with God we will see many people that God raises up and many that He puts down; yet it is important to not become prideful when it seems that God is using you. As Proverbs 16:18-19 says “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud” It is important that I always remember that God is the one I must be accountable to in the end! As David said, God is the judge! I must always be striving for perfection, and do so without lifting myself up with a prideful spirit.

  27. “Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭75:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oh He is more than all this whole to me
My dearest Friend that I could ever know
And it will take all eternity
Just to thank Him for all that He has done.

So thankful for my Savior. He is Great and Marvelous! I’m thankful for all He has and will do in my life!

  28. 9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

God I am so grateful for who You are and all that You have done! I will forever declare Your goodness!

  29. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

Humble yourself and God will exalt thee…the scripture comes to mind that speaks if anyone desires to be great among you he must be a servant of all. We should not seek a title or place nor the spotlight but rather to please God. Be wise and serve joyfully…be wise and win souls.

  30. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

There is power in the name of Jesus! His name changes everything. He is alpha and omega. He is the one true savior. He is Jahovah. Thank you Jesus that you have revealed your great power to us through you name.

  31. 1) Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. 9) But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. 10) All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
    Psalms 75:1‭, ‬9‭-‬10 KJV

For everything God does I should praise Him. For every hurt I will praise Him. In the light or the darkness God will always be put first and in my life will I praise Him: no matter the war going on inside me; Jesus has me covered. Thank you Jesus for being who you are!!!!!

  32. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another

These verses remind me that God is the only one that will promote and it will be in His time. That means that it doesn’t matter what others are doing or not doing God does not promote you by their standard He promotes you by His standard.

  33. 5Don’t raise your fists in defiance at the heavens or speak with such arrogance.’

To me raising your fist is sign get ready to fight, and also a sign of rebellion. When you worship God, one uses an open hand ready to receive or to give in obedience.

  34. 8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

    Wine=Wrath

The cup of wine is a frequent Biblical metaphor for God’s wrath. To mix wine with other spices makes it even more potent and destructive (Pr 23: 29-35). In the final judgment, the rebel Baylon will be given ” the cup filled with the wine of the fury of (God’s) wrath” (Rev 16:19). God’s chosen people have had to drink this wine at times themselves (Ps 60:3; Isa 51:17), but God promises that, for the redeemed, his wrath will come to an end.

  35. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
    Psalms 75:1

We could never repay God for how good he has been to us. But we can give him thanks with a heart of praise and adoration. He is great and greatly to be praised.

  36. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. I give you thanks !!!!

  37. 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.
6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.
7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

The most successful I have ever been, is when I have Jesus all the credit.
