Acts Chapter 17

40 Days of FIRE – Day 24

Paul stops in Athens, studies his audience’s culture, then begins to reason with the Greek philosophers about the One True God. Pray for God’s guidance to GO in Understanding of today’s culture, and how we might more effectively share what God has done in our lives.

Acts 17

Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

19 And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is?

20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

33 So Paul departed from among them.

34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

  1. v6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

    What a testimony! Let’s mirror some basic aspects of the church described in the book of Acts.
    Go turn the world upside down!

  2. i Love To Worship The Lord
    For those who are self seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil there will be wrath and anger the fact is that as sinners every human being is already condemned already under the wrath of God only trust and living in the truth will help you on judgment day

  3. 22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

    23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

    We should look for every opportunity as Paul did to show others Christ in what they already perceive to be truth, but we can guide them into real truth.

  4. The Belief of the Unbeliever

    6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

    What a proclamation made by the unbelieving Jews …..these that have turned the world upside down…….the unbelieving were still effected by what Paul and Silas were preaching. Wherever we go whatever we are doing always will have an effect on the lives of people. We may not get the result we are wanting but we can leave a mark on the lives of everyone. Oh that we too would turn the work upside down . Lord let my life be one that will be usable let me walk right into the presence of unbelievers and leave an impact upon them that My God is the only God and that they will be brought into the Kingdom of God! In Jesus Name.

  5. GO FOR AND IN GOD

    27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
    28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

    There is an unfulfilled longing in each of us to know GOD. Deception is often used by our adversary to cause us to attempt to live our lives without JESUS at the center , core or controls of our lives. When we seek after GOD we will follow or trail HIM in order to know HIM and HIS ways. HE is not hiding from us, but HE is in front of us and very near to those that seek HIM.

    When we find HIM and allow HIS Lordship in our lives, the fruit or evidence is the fact that everything we do is IN the name of JESUS and our life will reflect HIS Kingdom and not ours. How we live, everywhere we GO and our existence itself will reflect and evidence that we are HIS offspring.

    The FIRE of the LORD is revealed in, by and through our passion for HIM to seek, live, move and BE in HIM.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  6. 6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

    I desire that men say that of us, the pofw church, that we have turned this world upside down. Our labor in the Lord is so impactful that we have made that much of a difference. I believe the pofw already has, but I know there is a lot more for us to claim that God would entrust us in. There is still much To do. Let’s get behind our bishop and the vision God gave him and turn our world upside down.

  7. “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.
    Acts of the Apostles 17:30 NLT

    Amen!!

  8. “But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    On the day that the come for us. On the day they finally have enough of us. On the day that the government says get rid of us. On the the day they want our heads. This is our they will act. They will go to our neighborhoods and point us out one by one and demand we come out. Beat us and nearly take our dignity, BUT GREATER Is he that lives in us. All for his name sake!

    We are the ones that turn the world upside down! Revival!

  9. Verses 23-28 CEV “As I was going through your city and looking at the things you worship, I found an altar with the words, “To an Unknown God.” You worship this God, but you don’t really know him. So I want to tell you about him. This God made the world and everything in it. He is Lord of heaven and earth, and he doesn’t live in temples built by human hands. He doesn’t need help from anyone. He gives life, breath, and everything else to all people. From one person God made all nations who live on earth, and he decided when and where every nation would be. God has done all this, so that we will look for him and reach out and find him. He isn’t far from any of us, and he gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are. “We are his children,” just as some of your poets have said.” Let us (POFW) GO and tell someone about our God.

  10. When they heard paul speak about the resurrection of the dead, some laughed in contempt, but others said “we want to hear more about this later” Acts 17:32 NLT

  11. 24 The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built my hands.
    25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all man life and breath and everything else.
    26 From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them in the exact places where they should live.
    27 God did this so that men would seek him and reach out for him and find him though he is not for each one of us
    28 For in him we live and move and have our own being. As some of your own poets have said, We are his offspring.

  12. 16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

    My prayer is that my heart is moved with compassion everyday for those that I meet that do not know the fullness of truth and are steeped in the sin of this world. I was reminded reading this of an old hymn:

    You never mentioned Jesus to me
    You helped me not the way to see
    You met me day by day
    And you knew I was astray
    But You never mentioned Jesus to me

    I don’t want people to stand at judgement and point their fingers at me stating I never told them about the Savior of this world.

  13. 20 For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

    GO preach in the Unknown God’s Temple

    Wow. Knowing a little bit about astrology, our planets were named after false gods. Yet as Paul said. On the alter is was to our God to the Unknown God. Let me tell you his name. Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! To the only wise king, above us all. Even though the people made the temple to serve their gods. They unknowing put God in the midst of it all. Jesus be the center of it all. So GO PREACH THE GOSPLE!
    #GOdosomething

  14. Acts 17:6, “And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.”

    “Turned the world upside down.”
    What they were saying is, “These men have radically impacted our world and nothing seems to be the same.”
    Isn’t that what POFW is all about, “Impacting Lives To Change The World?”

    Let’s GO Impact our world today!

  15. 23 for as I was walking along I saw your many shrines. And one of your altars had this inscription on it: ‘To an Unknown God.’ This God, whom you worship without knowing, is the one I’m telling you about. (NLT)

    It’s crazy to me how some believe, some don’t, some don’t care, and some flat out just don’t know – but in today’s world, that’s all ok. I know plenty of people who say they believe there’s some higher power/being out there they just don’t know what or who it is. With all the religions, how can you be sure who’s g/God it really is? When we come across people like this we can be like Paul and say, “That’s my God! Let me tell you about Him. Oh, and here’s my church, you should come see Him!”

  16. Here in this chapter you see Paul preaching the gospel you see some of the people didn’t agree what he was saying so the try to kill him we are going to have people that don’t agree but we must continue to preach the good new of Jesus Christ

  17. “For as I went around and observed closely your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: ‘To an unknown god.’ Therefore what you worship without knowing it, this I proclaim to you. The God who made the world and everything in it, who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives life and breath and everything to everyone. From one man he made every nation of the human race to inhabit the entire earth, determining their set times and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, so that they would search for God and perhaps grope around for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move about and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ So since we are God’s offspring, we should not think the deity is like gold or silver or stone, an image made by human skill and imagination.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:23-29‬ ‭NET‬‬

  18. 34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

    Even if it’s just one soul it matters! Thank you Jesus for your great spirit and power! Your will is all we seek and desire. Revival will be 100’s of souls and 1000’s of souls being saved and baptized in Jesus name! The lord had a plan!

  19. 11. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

    They didn’t just decide that since it didn’t agree with what they thought, then it must be wrong – they searched the scriptures to either affirm or disprove.

    Don’t be worried if someone wants proof of what we believe in the scriptures – it’s there!

  20. 17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

    I noticed that before Paul had his more famous sermon on mars hill that, first he was daily spreading the word of God. I do not know how many days he was there, but the bible says Paul was in the marketplace daily. It is a reminder to spread and talk about Jesus every day that I can. And to God be the glory.

  21. Unknown God

    23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, To The Unknown God. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

    It is hard for me to imagine worshiping, serving and praying to an unknown entity. How? Who are you praying to? What is this god’s likes and dislikes? While I don’t agree with the doctrine, if one is going to worship Diana for example, who is this god? She is the god of hunting, the moon and virginity. This would give one a direction in which to worship and serve this god. One might understand that a god of hunting would appreciate a sacrifice from what one gathers while hunting.

    An unknown god though? It just illustrates the hunger of people to fill a void in their life. People may not understand what the missing piece is but they have a natural urge to seek that which will fill this void. What a blessed people we are to know and understand the one true God. We are also blessed in the fact we know how to worship Him. We know how to approach Him. We know how to sacrifice of our time, talent and treasure.

  22. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

    31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    God had mercy on those that sinned and didn’t know truth, but now everyone must repent and be baptize in Jesus name. There is time coming when we all will stand before God and will be judged for the things we have done. Repent while we still have time.

  23. 6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

    What a reputation! To be known as ones who turned the world upside down! To be known as the ones who changed the course of history for the kingdom of God. That’s the testimony we should seek today and strive for. One that has a lasting effect on our generation now and forever!

  24. 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
    32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.

    Jesus will judge the world using his word and we are the ones he will use to tell everyone we can.

  25. Understanding is such an important aspect of our walk with God. If we have responded in faith, we need to take the time to gain understanding least any would come and steal or corrupt that which we have received. The Bible declares that God’s people are destroyed by lack of knowledge… we need to know both who God is and what God desires for our life. It’s not enough just to hear the truth, we need it established as our very foundation.

    When Paul was rejected and moved on from Thessalonica, it was said that ‘These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.’ They didn’t accept our reject what Paul was teaching in the passion of the moment. They took the time to measure it against the word themselves… and many believed!

    It’s important to recognize that understanding is for every individual. Paul’s understanding was such that he was effective in converting many souls. Our understanding can help us do the same today but we should never forget that understanding is first and foremost a matter of our own salvation. The Bible exhorts us to work out our own salvation with great and trembling. It is not something to take for granted… our eternal salvation may very well depend on our grasp of his word for our life, so go in understanding!

  26. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

    with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily,

    Search daily for the knowledge of God. Each day learn something new about the way youre living. You will never know everything there is to know about God but that shouldnt stop you from wanting to know more if anything it should encourage you to Go after it even more!

  27. “When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:32‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    When you GO to spread the gospel, not everyone is going to believe you and not everyone is going to want to hear you. But we mustn’t let that stop us because there are others who are just waiting on people like us to reach out to them and once you begin to speak of His greatness, they won’t be able to get enough!! So never let one negative comment keep you from spreading His word, you never know when you might be touching a life!

  28. 23for as I was walking along I saw your many shrines. And one of your altars had this inscription on it: ‘To an Unknown God.’ This God, whom you worship without knowing, is the one I’m telling you about.

    It seems to me the Jews wanted to worship a god, but wasn’t what god. To me, why would you want to worship an unknown god; a god that doesn’t exist or has a name, or a person who claims to be a god. The inscription is worthless. As Christians, we have our God (Jesus) we can claim, pray too, have a relationship with, and who is a living God. No other religion can make the claim of a living god…

  29. Josiah: 16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
    “his spirit was stirred in him” Sometimes opportunities come our way but it is up to us to take advantage of them. Paul was just waiting at Athens yet he felt a stirring in his spirit “when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry” However he obeyed God and talked, reasoned, and shared the word of God and, yes, some did not believe, but others wanted to hear more. Even better it says in verse 34 “Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.” I hope that I always take advantage to be a light to those in this world because who knows when one may actually come to church, or believe because of it? LET US GO IN JESUS NAME! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD. HALLELUJAH!

  30. 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

    29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

    My God is alive and is able to give life. The key is like Paul preached, repentance. Turn to Go and find life today.

  31. Paul wasn’t ashamed to speak the good news to everyone. He demonstrated that regardless of their faith he would go the extra mile to explain the goodness of God and his good works. He didn’t allow anything to distract him from teaching the lost that there is only one God.

  32. Acts 17:27 (English Amp) So that they should seek God, in hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. Every soul matters to God. Paul wasn’t ashamed to go and tell the people the good news about the Lord. I will go and reach the lost.and help them.

  33. 15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
    16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.
    17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

    Paul was so full of the gospel of Christ that he literally could not keep it to himself! He had just fled a city because the people there did not want the gospel; yet Paul was so accustomed to talking about God that when he was supposed to be hiding and waiting for friends, instead he went and shared the truth. It did not matter to him that other cities chased him away because of the gospel, he was still going to share it; nothing was going to get in the way. This is very encouraging, because it goes to show that again Paul was willing to continue to share the gospel for the possibility of revelation for only a few, even if it meant his own persecution. I need to be always GOing like Paul and sharing the gospel to as many I can, whenever I can!

  34. 2. And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3. Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Je’-sus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. I Love you Jesus !!!! I Praise you Jesus !!!! I Lift you up Jesus !!!! I Thank you Jesus !!!! You are Awesome !!!!

  35. Turning the world upside down!

    6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

    This was the testimony of our for fathers. The boldness of Christ lead them to great uproars in the Name of Jesus. When is the last time you heard of someone going to jail over the Name of Jesus? It is time for the church to get the Holy Ghost boldness back. We are missing a lot of the harvest because we haven’t turned the world upside down yet.

  36. iLove to Go Blog
    “As was Paul’s custom, he went to the synagogue service, and for three Sabbaths in a row he used the Scriptures to reason with the people. He explained the prophecies and proved that the Messiah must suffer and rise from the dead. He said, “This Jesus I’m telling you about is the Messiah.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭17:2-3‬ ‭NLT

    It’s great to have good customs and to go to church on a regular basis. We notice that Paul went to church and preached about the prophecies of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    The Lord is coming back soon and we should turn to the prophecies of the Word and preach them more often. Thank you Jesus.

  37. 24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

    25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

    26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth

    I like how he started out with creation.

  38. Jesus has a wonderful way of meeting people right where they are. When he is by the seashore, his words relate to fishing (Mt 4:18-19). When he’s on the mountainside, flowers of the field and birds of the air become examples used to make a point (Mt 5:1, 6:26,28). Paul has learned to do the same as Jesus. He says “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save one.” (1 Co 9:22). It makes sense that when in Athens that he affirms the people seeking and their desire to be religious. This fact becomes the springboard for a conversation about the unknown god to whom they have built an altar. In his conversation with the philosophers he even quotes two of their own poets. Paul’s example was modeled after Jesus, and speaks to us today. The best way to reach the lost is to speak their “language” and meeting them where they are.

  39. Paul explained to the Athenians about how God is the creator of the heavens and earth and that he made every living creature with breathe on the face of the earth and God is not in such one place but his spirit is in all places of the earth because for he is a all knowing God.

  40. Acts 17:29-30 “Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

    One of the biggest false religions in the world, the Catholic faith, still to this day regard statues made of gold and silver in the stone. Even in the New Testament church, Paul told the Athenians that they should abstain from the worship of idols, and even called it the work of ignorance.

    All idolaters need to find an altar of repentance before God, because God will not let you make it surely because of your ignorance of his word

  41. 30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

    This is the beauty of God, there is no limit on learning about God!!! The more we seek Him, the more we will find Him!!! We must repent daily and learn and dig deeper in His Word!!! It’s not time to be playing church and doing our own will. God is going to judge each and everyone of us and I pray that we be ready when that moment comes. The devil is alert and is getting a hold of so many people that are letting him get into their minds, but I rebuke the enemy in Jesus Name. He can’t have my children, my husband, my soul, my family, my ministry, my friends, my finances, my house, NOTHING!!!

  42. 16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

    You know the enemy brings accusations against us to distract us from purpose. When you find yourself spending more time trying to defend yourself instead of your God, you know your on the wrong side.

    Paul was always focused on the harvest way more than he was focused on the accusations and threats. He was so focused on the harvest that his spirit was stirred in him when he saw the city giving their all to idolatry.

    When was the last time we were stored from within for our city. During 40 days of Fire let us be stir to the point of action. Our commitment to outreach must be intentional and one if the top priorities of our day?

  43. 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

    31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

    Let’s live right before God. Let us strive and be good faithful servants unto Him

  44. “And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Turning the World Upside Down

    It’s not something that is done flippantly. You have to do it on purpose. It takes careful thought and boldness. It takes determination and commitment. You can’t just get part way there and turn around. You have to be fully commited and fully pursuaded yourself. There is no way you are going to change others if your not committed to what you believe.

  45. 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

    Anything we need and more we find in Jesus! In Him we live, for His glory. His will be done.

  46. 19 Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting? 20 You are bringing some strange ideas to our ears, and we would like to know what they mean.

    People in this world are curious and have a hunger to hear about God! They may think it’s strange or we’re strange but that’s what pulls them in to wanting to know about God and wanting to know more and more about Him! We have a hungry city, Fort Worth, that is waiting to hear about our God! Revival is here and more to come!

  47. Hannah“16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.” When we witness unto other people we have to witness in understanding. I always need to make sure that I fully understand what I am saying when I witness to other people. If you witness when you don’t understand then you could easily lead someone astray and teaching them something false when you think you are teaching the truth. Each of should look in our own lives and pick out the thorns in our life. We should learn from someone who knows the gospel so we both learn and teach others. Always witness with understanding and what God places in your heart and not in your flesh.

  48. 32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.
    33 So Paul departed from among them.
    34 Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
    It is those that will hear the gospel that keeps us continually witnessing of Jesus. It does not matter how many may reject, how many mock or how many push aside this truth until a time when they feel it is more convenient. If all of heaven rejoices over one sinner repenting;I too can rejoice over those that will hear this truth and not turn away. It is those people that make all of the prayers and witnessing worth the sacrifice!!!

  49. 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

    We are nothing without God.
