Acts Chapter 14

40 Days of FIRE – Day 27

First they believe Paul and Barnabas to be gods, then they nearly stone Paul to death a few days later. Yet they continued to do the work of the Lord and strengthened the disciples and encouraged them to remain true to the faith. Acts 14

And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,

They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:

And there they preached the gospel.

And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:

The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.

12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.

14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,

15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the people, that they had not done sacrifice unto them.

19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

24 And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.

25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:

26 And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.

27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

28 And there they abode long time with the disciples.

  1. Verses 21-22 MSG “After proclaiming the Message in Derbe and establishing a strong core of disciples, they retraced their steps to Lystra, then Iconium, and then Antioch, putting muscle and sinew in the lives of the disciples, urging them to stick with what they had begun to believe and not quit, making it clear to them that it wouldn’t be easy: “Anyone signing up for the kingdom of God has to go through plenty of hard times.” We have been talking about Paul/Barnabas in Sunday School and spoke of “perseverance” yesterday: continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition : the action or condition or an instance of persevering : steadfastness. We must continue to encourage one another and never stop; but, continue to GO as Romans 15:5 NLT says “May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.”

  2. Supposing He Was,Dead
9 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded
the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

I am not dead but alive. Paul had a work to finish and had to rise even above that which should have killed him. We cannot allow the stoning from the enemy to keep us down. No matter what any one thinks says or perceives about you jeep on working for the kingdom! Like Fire shut up in your bones. A desire a determination a made up mind. Until God says no more we gave to keep reaching jeep teaching jeep serving for the last in Jesus Name
    His Strength is Perfect

  3. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
23 And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Sometimes the propose of tribulations is to burn off infirmities, sometimes it’s for increase in our spiritual strength, other times there’s a different propose, either way, the way we look at tribulations matter, but more importantly we understand that they are a necessity to our faith and future in the kingdom of God. Without trials, there are things we will never see and be able to do.

It’s not enough just to bring people into the church and pray for them to receive the Holy Ghost and be baptized in Jesus name, there are millions who have done that, we must equip them to become disciples and continue in the faith. Preparing them for trials and tribulations, and encouraging them to continue in the faith, that’s our duty and calling for every Christian.

  4. Some of the Juws, however, spurned God’s massage and poisond the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas. ACTS 14:2 NLT

The opposition reveals the level of commitment.

  5. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Man I wish somebody wouldve told me the tribulation thing when I first got the Holy Ghost. I’m thankful for every test God has put me through so far. Each one had a solid purpose to strengthen me and sharpen me into a better christian to GO and reach for the Lost. Today im thanking God for every tria,l today im thanking God for every period of tribulation I have been through.

    God bless you all!

  6. 15. Paul and Barnabas (shouting): Friends! No! No! Don’t do this! We’re just humans like all of you! We’re not here to be worshiped! We’re here to bring you good news-good news that you should turn from these worthless forms of worship and instead serve the living God, the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that they contain. Voice

Just as you shouldn’t “shoot the messenger”, you also shouldn’t worship the messenger. We aren’t here to point people to us, but to allow Him to shine through us as we point people to Him. We are blessed to have a Pastor that doesn’t seek ‘preacher religion’, but seeks to add souls to God’s Kingdom.

Don’t look at me if you’re looking for perfection
Don’t look at me I will only let you down
I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction
    But don’t look at me
Don’t look at me, look at Him

I’ll lead you to the One I found
He’ll give you everything you need

He’s the One who lived a perfect life
He’s the One who always gets it right
He’s the One and only guiding light
He is everthing you want to be
He’s the answer to your every need
If you follow Him then you will see
    He’s like no other

  7. PREACH THE GOspel

7 And there they preached the gospel.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

The GOspel is the GOod News of JESUS. Whenever and wherever the GOspel of JESUS is preached, signs will follow. We are a BLESSED people that we are privileged to witness the works of JESUS at The POFW.

Notice that the man with a need had FAITH to be healed and walk, even though he had never walked before. Think for a moment of something that we do not have the means or ability to perform or accomplish and then ask yourself if you have FAITH to do IT.

JESUS has set up some impossible situations in our lives over these 40 Days of FIRE to determine if we have FAITH to be healed, delivered or saved.

  8. 13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.

We must keep in perspective that it is only through the grace and power of the Lord Jesus that we can do anything.

  9. 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony; He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provide you with plenty of food and fills your heart with joy.
18 Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.

22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God they said

  10. iLove to Go Blog
Acts 14:9 NLT and listening as Paul preached. Looking straight at him, Paul realized he had faith to be healed.

Do You Have Faith to be Healed?

Everyone does not have faith to be healed. Notice the scripture,”Paul realized he had faith to be saved…” The revelation here is simple, Paul preached. We understand that Paul had great faith. As Paul preached he noticed there was a man who had faith to be healed.

The Bible does not say that Paul was moved by the Holy Ghost that it was finally in God’s timing and finally God’s will to heal…The Bible says that Paul realized the man had faith to be healed. How did the man get faith? The Word says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of the Lord. Paul preached the Word and faith was a result.

  11. “where they strengthened the believers. They encouraged them to continue in the faith, reminding them that we must suffer many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God. Paul and Barnabas also appointed elders in every church. With prayer and fasting, they turned the elders over to the care of the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭14:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  12. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

Life isn’t perfect, and even though living for God makes it a whole lot better, it still isn’t perfect because we’re not perfect. We should, like Paul and Barnabas encouraged the believers then, continue in faith and strive for a life of holiness. Sanctify us God that we would be strengthened to successfully endure every tribulation set before us.

  13. 19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

Paul suffered some real setbacks in the process of preaching the gospel and doing Gods will nonetheless when the devil gave him his best shot and people stood around expecting Paul to be dead he rose up and kept on preaching! There is power in the call and anointing of God that will give you the strength to do his will when all else is against you.

  14. Acts 14:3 long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace , and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
    ——-
The unbelieving Jews started something, and so they had to stay there even longer, persuading and speaking the word boldly……
And that is my prayer: Firstable let me be fruitful in the place you have me…..let me be a witness, and share the gospel with boldness,, and if I have to stay there longer, let it be, for I know that in time, those ( souls) people will heard the truth, maybe not all, but those you have called, and the rest will not be able to envied that there’s was a woman( man) of God showing them, telling them about salvation….

  15. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.

This is why it’s important to read and pray because you might just have a little 🐍 snake that will try to sneak up on you and spit lie and get into your mind every day we need to get refilled with the holy ghost

  16. 27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

Our testimony is powerful and draws people to God for their needs when they hear what He has done for us and others.

  17. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

God repeatedly warns us to be careful of the company we keep. The wrong influences often point us in the wrong direction and quite often hurts our relationship with the Lord. What we learn, or are told, by the wrong pressures can direct us into making wrong decisions that we may regret. Adam did what his wife told him to do, rather than obey God’s commandment, and it cost him and every person since, death and the heartaches of sin. The 10 spies did not have their faith in God, as did Joshua and Caleb, and thus aroused fear among their people.

Samson picked the wrong girlfriend and ended up losing his life. Why is it so hard for people to discern the difference between counsel of those who love them and care for them versus people who just have an opinion? I believe it is a matter of selfishness, immaturity and a need for instant gratification. Clichés such as “good things come to those who wait” and scriptures such as Acts 1:7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.

I took the wrong counsel many times in my life. When those who loved me most did not give me the answer that I wanted – I sought and found someone who would agree with me. I paid many times for the differences too. I wonder where my life and relationship with God would be today had I followed Godly counsel all my life rather than my seeking my own desires and carnal counsel?

  18. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

We all go through test and trials and though we may not always want to, we see here it is necessary to enter into the kingdom of God! Sometimes when we going through tribulations we ask God to change our situation, not knowing He put us in that situation to change us! So when facing life’s opportunities we must be patient and trust Gods timing, and keep the faith!!

  19. 2 Some of the Jews, however, spurned God’s message and poisoned the minds of the Gentiles against Paul and Barnabas.

If we allow others to change our mind about God, about authority, and obedience, then we really weren’t rooted in God’s word. We can’t easily be influenced by what other people say. We have to stay in the Word to be able to recognize when someone is diluting the Word!

  20. 1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

Reading this chapter, specifically these verses I am reminded of the Sunday school song that says, “be careful little ears what you hear for the father up above is looking down in love O be careful little ears what you hear”. If the Gentiles in Iconium had NOT listened to the unbelieving Jews, then how much of the persecution in this chapter would have happened? How many more people could have been saved? I need to be careful of what I listen too as I go through this world, so that I do not run the risk of my heart being turned away from God! There is nothing in this world more important than Him! So I want to be sure that in ALL I do, I do it in the name of the Lord Jesus!

  21. 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

This is the cry that most christians have. Why do you these things! Don’t you see that God is good! And his mercy is great! Turn from things nonsense and turn to the one that created heaven in earth!

  22. No matter where Paul and Barnabas went, no matter who was against them, no matter Paul was stoned, they continued to preach the word, healed people, and encouraged others.
To me they were example for us to “be steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…” 1 Cor. 15:58

  23. I Love To Worship The Lord
    APOSTLES
The term is used in both a restrictive and general sense. In the first sense the Twelve and Paul are Apostles in the second sense persons like Barnabas who undertook itinerant evangelistic missions are apostles today we would probably call these apostles missionaries

  24. 3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

I read this several times and it sounds to me like because they spoke with BOLNESS about the Lord, this gave great testimony of His Grace, and that granted signs and wonders. So LETS GO SPEAK WITH BOLNESS ABOUT THE LORD!!!! We will reap great testimonies and signs and wonders in Jesus Name!!!

  25. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
We have heard over and over from the last several preachers and also Pastor that we better be careful who we are hanging with and listening to. Putting on post facebook about one of our brothers and sisters in Christ and then calling it venting is the same thing as gossip. You just put it out there for the world to see. If we are so called venting on social media and causing discord how in the world do we think we are going to get someone to come to church with us. It’s time to bind together and help each other out and pray for each other, when someone is down pick that person up don’t keep kicking them while they are down. Let’s speak positive things!!!!

  26. Encouragement one another in the Lord is not the positive thinking mantra so popular in the world today. Positive thinking assumes neutrality at worst of the situation and an inherent negativity on the part of the individual. As Christians, if the joy of the Lord is truly our strength, our outlook is not negative… and no amount of positive thinking was going to improve the situations Paul found himself within. It wasn’t a negative outlook, it was a negative reception of the gospel they had delivered. The rejection was real and often accompanied by the violence of those who didn’t want to change.

Encouragement on the other hand recognizes the difficulty of the situation at hand and still refuses to give up! In this chapter we see Paul go from being threatened with death, to literally being left for dead… yet they encouraged one another to go on. We know the end of the story but they did not, and yet they continued to press on. That’s the power of encouraging ourselves in the Lord! Where people would long have given up on their own strength and perspective, we are able and willing with the help of God to keep on keeping on! It would be easy to allow the situation to discourage, but instead we encourage to allow God the opportunity to have the final word. He’ll have the final word regardless, but how much more fulfilling is it to see the hand of God move through our own lives rather than standing aside as he accomplishes it through another means.

The enemy of our soul would love to discourage the people of God. If we aren’t even willing to try, he holds the field of battle. When we recognize the strength of the holy ghost within us and allow God to provide for all our needs, there is nothing the enemy can do… the Bible clearly declares that none can even stand before us. We can’t afford to be sidelined before the battle is even engaged. We need to go encourage one another and declare with confidence and boldness that greater is he that is in me than he that is in this world!

  27. 12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

  28. Acts14:3 ( English Amp) So ( Paul and Barnabas) stayed on there for a Long time, speaking freely and fearlessly and boldly in the Lord,Who continued to bear testimony to the Word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be preformed by their hands , But the residents of the town were divided, some siding with theJews and some with the apostles. The things Paul went through it didn’t matter , He still went ahead and preach God word.

  29. Enter In

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

The scripture says “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.” So, how do we enter in:

    Psalm 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

    Luke 17: 20-21
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you

    Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

The coming Kingdom of God is the message that God wants to convey to every person on earth. Jesus preached the Kingdom of God, Paul preached it, and John the Baptism also preached it. It is up to us to take up the banner and preach this great message to all that are willing to hear that His kingdom may be established here on earth. The infilling of the Holy Ghost granted us access to the kingdom and now righteousness, peace, and joy helps sustain us in the kingdom even in the middle of life’s troubles.

  30. Only way this gospel will be preached to every nation is if the people of God are not afraid to tell it. We cannot sit back and expect someone else to do it when that someone God is calling is you. We have to be instant in season and out. The more we study the word of God, the more God will reveal to us. When we give our all to God, he will lead and guide us into all truth.

  31. 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

We go thru things for a reason, we need to examine ourselves to see what God is trying too remove the impurities from our lives!

  32. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
Keeping our minds on Jesus and focused upon encouraging one another to the unifying of the body will only draw people to want to serve God. This world is full enough of backbiting, bickering and too much contention one another.Jesus is our only refuge from this dark and dreadful world. We must show the light of Jesus to all that we encounter so they too can find rest, peace, and strength to walk in this chaotic world and joy knowing that they will also one day be with Jesus.

  33. Josiah: 5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:
7 And there they preached the gospel.
When the disciples were opposed and wanted dead they did not turn around, hide, and give up on the ministry. They simply moved on in the will of the Lord and preached the gospel somewhere else. God sometimes may let us go through certain trials, but even when people may not receive God I pray that I continue to GrOw in the will of the Lord. I pray that I always GO in the will of the Lord so that I can GO reach the lost and so that God can be on my side. AND IF GOD IS FOR US WHO CAN STAND AGAINST? LET US GrOw IN JESUS NAME! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAIS YE THE LORD!

  34. Hannah: “19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. 20 Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.”Even through all his trials Paul still stayed steadfast in the Lord. He was stoned and thought dead, but even after being stoned he continued his walk in the Lord. I desire that my walk will be like Pull’s in my life, where through the hardest trials I will stay with the Lord. He will always be by each of our sides through everything and he has brought us through. He has done so much for everyone and we should stay steadfast in the Lord and continue to serve him.

  35. 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

As it is described here it should also be that our faith should be evident as well. We need to come to God with expectation. He never did and I don’t believe he never will turn away anybody for expecting that he can do anything. Notice the reminder, ” the same hear Paul speak” or should we say preach the gospel. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It should so be that we must hear this Word and build up our faith that when we approach God we should know that He is able! To God be the glory!! He can, He will..

  36. When you know your in the right place

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

God doesn’t give opposition to those who are following him, his yoke is easy. When you are living for God and you begin to have things come against you from every different direction you can count it all joy because you are closer and closer to the will of God. The adversary is not going to give you any opposition if he has you where he wants you, out of the will of God. He only starts to buck you when you get close to God, just ask Job. All things work together for good, not all things are good. We are not accepting the adversaries attacks rather we are ready for them. If we are in the fight we know that we are doing something right.

  37. 22. Strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
Sometimes when we are in some trials, we are looking for a good answer, for an exit, but sometimes we have to have a trial. Since several preachers preach about prosperity, people think that we have to have everything and nobody preach about persecution. Its not a popular topic, but reading this verse, I am praying for strenght and faith in the middle of any storm. In Jesus name!

  38. “Finally, they returned by ship to Antioch of Syria, where their journey had begun. The believers there had entrusted them to the grace of God to do the work they had now completed. Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, too. And they stayed there with the believers for a long time.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭14:26-28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One thing that Paul made sure of was to go back and follow up on the new believers. He went back to check on them and made sure the work was complete. This is the same for our new believers today. It’s amazing to see them receive salvation but we must go back to make sure they are maintaining that Salvation. I’m so thankful that POFW equips our new believers for success. We become their friend, engage them in a bible study and encourage them to develop a ministry opportunity that would best fit them.

  39. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:

9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

  40. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

Why is it that unbelieving brothers are so much meaner than unbelievers? It wasn’t the unchurched people, it was the church people.

  41. Acts 14:27 And they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

Rev. 3:8 I know they works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Open door for Opportunity for testimony and service!

  42. “They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about: And there they preached the gospel.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭14:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What do you do when you feel threatened? We can read in the above verses that when they became aware they moved on, and PREACHED THERE. It doesn’t say that they stopped preaching. They moved on and kept preaching.

We too must keep GOING. It would be easy to stop and walk away, but I choose to keep GOING!

  43. 7 And there they preached the gospel. 8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

    Preaching The Gospel = Faith!!!
Hearing the Word of God is what makes our faith increase because His Word doesn’t lie!!! If God says its going to happen, its going to happen!!! It might not happen at the moment we want it to happen it doesn’t mean that God has forgotten about that promise!!!

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. John: 14:12

  44. 27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.

Lord help us reach the lost souls and back sliders.

  45. 1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

When doing the will of God, you will face much opposition. But through Christ, we can endure and make it through anything.

  46. 1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

When doing the will of God, you will face opposition. But with Christ, we can make it through anything.

  47. 23 Paul and Barnabas handpicked leaders in each church. After praying—their prayers intensified by fasting—they presented these new leaders to the Master to whom they had entrusted their lives.
27 On arrival, they got the church together and reported on their trip, telling in detail how God had used them to throw the door of faith wide open so people of all nations could come streaming in.

And their prayers intensified by fasting! Let our prayers be with a passionate fire with the Holy Ghost and have authority and victory in Jesus name! With prayer and fasting it opens up our faith in seeing how God works and it spreads to people that are hungry and wanting to know about God! People all around the city of Fort Worth and through out this nation will know about Jesus! Let them stream into our churches to hear about a Man that saves, delivers, and sets free in Jesus name! Thank you Lord! It’s revival time!

  48. The Power of Preaching

I pray that the power of the Holy Ghost will continue to move fiercely over our Apostolic Pastors and preachers to preach the Gospel with such power that many turn and come to worship the One True Living God.

The same thing happened in Iconium. Paul and Barnabas went to the Jewish synagogue and preached with such power that a great number of both Jews and Greeks became believers.
Acts of the Apostles 14:1 NLT

  49. 8. And there sat a certain man at Lys’-tra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 9. The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10. Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. Thank you Jesus for your Healing !!!!

  50. 2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

1 Cor 1:5-6 “It takes one rotten apple to spoil the whole bunch and yeast destroys the whole lump. It takes one to destroy but it can also take one to overcome.

6Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?7Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.g8So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old breadh of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.”

  51. “But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There was a great split among tr thoughts of the day. Today if there is such a split it is usually over doctrine. The doctrine the Bible teaches is plain. It is in black, white, and red all over those pages. The issues that people have with the doctrine comes down to ONE SIMPLE FACT: you must love the law.

“Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:165‬ ‭KJV‬‬

People who don’t love the law are easily offended by it. Maybe they don’t know if, or maybe they just don’t love it. Either way it is evident by the reaction of someone that hey do or do not love the law.

  52. But he showed he was there by the good things he did. God sends rain from heaven and makes your crops grow. He gives food to you and makes your hearts glad.
    Acts 14:17

God reveals himself to us in different forms. He is our protector watching over us and provider who makes crops grow with food. We get to rejoice in Him for he makes us glad.

  53. 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

These verses so that with every healing both parties should have faith, both the one laying hands and the one receiving the healing. I just pray that my faith would also increase daily, so that I can receive what God would have me receive.
