Acts Chapter 12

40 Days of FIRE – Day 29

Peter appears to be just hours away from being executed by King Herod when he is miraculously released from prison by an angel of the Lord. He then visits a house full of disciples who are praying for him. Prayer works! Prayerfully thank God for hearing and answering every one of our prayers as we daily Go Pray.

Acts 12

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.

20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

  1. This chapter confirms that prayer changes things. When we try to do things on our own, the results do not turn out the way we want them to. Once we allow God to step in and we are willing to follow, we get the positive results we were looking for. Prayer is what gives us strength and helps change a bad day to a good day. Prayer is what is going to open blinded eyes and cauae deaf ears to hear. When we stop praying, we give the enemy unrestricted access to our lives.

  2. 21. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

    22. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

    23. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Be careful of pride and not giving God the glory; it can really eat you up!

  3. Prayer does work and we can launch it from where ever we are, no matter what battle we are facing, and know that it is being heard by the Master. 1 John 5:13-15 MSG says “My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening. And if we’re confident that he’s listening, we know that what we’ve asked for is as good as ours.” In the AMP 1 John 5:14 says “This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that [a]if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.” Thank you Jesus.

  4. Thank you, Jesus. No matter the circumstances God will bring you out of your prison.

But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Acts of the Apostles 12:5 NLT
I am thankful for a praying church. What can we accomplish if we operate in unity and stay joined in unified prayer?

  5. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

They prayed and prayed for Peter’s release, God answered miraculously and sent Peter to their doorstep…yet somehow they still have doubts and refuse to believe what God has done when a girl delivers the message, to the point Peter has to persist in knocking and then they are surprised…but why? Why do we pray and not expect God to answer, why do we seek God and seem shocked when he answers? If we pray for rain, we should have an umbrella when we go outside. It’s not enough to say we believe. We have been praying for harvest and revival, the latter rain is coming, it’s time to GO dance in the rain with expectation.

  6. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

  7. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

To pray and see those prayers being answered is one of the many amazimg things God can do.
Quick testimony: during these 40 days ive prayed for unity in my family and swveral other things for other people. Most of those prayers have already been answered and God is raising our faith everytime he does it. So dont forget to thank the Lord after you send a prayer up because hes gonna get yours soon.

    God bless you all!

  8. Paul wrote to the church at Thessalonica to pray without ceasing. Here we see that principle in action: ‘Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.’. There was nothing in their own power they could do, so they continued in prayer steadfastly that God would perform the work they were unable to affect themselves.

This was obviously not a one time affair. When the angel delivered Peter, the Bible says, ‘And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.’ Peter did not have to be told by the angel where to go.. when he stop and considered what the saints would be doing, he knew exactly where they would be at in prayer.

It was also the middle of the night and yet it says that many were gathered together praying. They didn’t just check the box and find a convenient time to bring Peter’s need before the Lord and leave a few alone to cover the midnight hour… they did it in the strength of the body. They did not know that Peter would be freed that night or even if he would be…. they had after all already witnessed the stoning of Stephen for his faith. Why would Peter fair any better? Despite that immediate reminder, they refused to back down or be discouraged and chose to pray together that God would make a difference!

Prayer should never be our last resort.. that’s why we pray without ceasing, but when there is no way before us, prayer is still effective! As our evangelist reminded us, he can make a way where there is no way. So let us pray together! Let his house continue to be called the house of prayer! Let each of our individual houses also be a house of prayer! Let our prayers be more than just a commitment… let them be part of our strength in our walk with God!

  9. 25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

We all have an expected end, so why do we cut it short and leave before we finish our whole reason in being somewhere?

I have seen it many times, with many different “churches” where because someone’s feelings get hurt, so they ” take their toys and go elsewhere”. This is PRIDE. Pride is the original sin. Pride is what Lucifer had in his heart, when Jesus kicked him, and 1/3 of all the angles with him. Pride is what causes us to take corrections or comments personal. It will take you further than you really want to go, and leave you stranded. Pride is like a cancer that just grows and worsens, the longer it is left alone. in the Old Testament Korah had pride, and look what happened to them.

Humility and repentance is the only cure. When we humble ourselves, we position ourselves where Jesus wants us, which means we fulfill our ministerial purpose.

  10. iLove to Go Blog
Acts 12:4 KJV  And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Now this is great! A quaternion is a group of 4 soldiers. So, Herod had 16 soldiers watching over one man. Now carnal thinking would say that Peter was out numbered 16/1. Not to mention, the soldiers had Peter bound with 2 chains and they also had weapons. The carnal mind might not think Peter had a chance… But the church prayed a Go Pray prayer chain and God sent just one to help. So now, Peter was outnumbered 16/2. Well, it just so happens that 16/2 odds is no match for God. The angel of the Lord walked into that prison and soldiers just fell asleep, chains just fell off, and doors just opened. Boom! I’m telling you nothing is impossible with God and we are never outnumbered. God is able to do anything!

  11. Imagine, Vision, Dreams

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

When you were a child, did you ever day dream? Seriously. Did you ever imagine flying high above your house, or think what it would be like to have super human strength. Or maybe be able to control water or fire. Did you ever think about where your life would be? Maybe a dream job. Whatever it is we all have dreamed, and imagined about something.
Now have you ever been in prayer and the Holy Spirit show you a vision? Has it come to pass yet?
As adults we tend to forget just how easy it is to believe in something. When I was young I believed that my dad could do anything. That he wasn’t scared of anything. A simpler time in life I suppose. But the interesting thing is that when we dream and see visions or minds can revert to believing in something that is either not yet or cannot. But with God all things are possible. Dreams and visions become reality. Dream on children of God for we are his children. And what father doesn’t want to see his children’s dreams be meet. Have a little faith. Dream and have visions.believe and know that he is God.

  12. Acts 12:6-7 & 11
    6) And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
    7) And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
    11) And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

The Lord sent forth His Angel.
Heb. 1:14, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
Ps. 91:11, “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways “

  13. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Many people are bound by the enemy, but I praise God that POFW taught me to never give up and never stop praying for those that are lost. We might not see any hope in some of the prodigals coming back but I sure do believe that prayer works. Due to prayer I have seen souls not leave God and come to God. Sometimes the only things that are keeping prodigals from dying completely are our prayers. We can’t forget about all those that the enemy has prisoned, but pray for them without ceasing because I know there are still people that are lost, bound, desperate, and crying out for help. Jesus guide me to those people Lord!!!

  14. GO PRAY

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

We are BLESSED to be involved in a Church that will GO PRAY. PRAY for one another, PRAY for the LOST, PRAY for those that are suffering through tough times.

We witness here the POWER of a Church that will PRAY until. I want to THANK YOU and ENCOURAGE you to continue in PRAYER without ceasing until you see the fruit or evidence of your request, regardless of how unbelievable it may be.

  15. Prayer Can Get You Trough the Iron Gates
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Keep praying keep be living prayer changes things. At midnight the border if Zambia and Zimbabwe were to be closed. An uproar had broke out that day and thereally was a law all whites had to be a across the border. It was just a few seconds before it was to close. We were loaded down 7 of us in a jeep. As we approached we began to pray for we knew we would be searched and the border would be shut. As the guards approached our jeep we began to pray and out of no where there came children carry sandwiches approaching the border of course at midnight the guards were hungry and as the children began to give theme the sandwiches the head guard leaned in to the jeep and said go on across.
    PRAYER OPENS THE IRON GATES
As we drove across we began to thank God for the little angel s He had just sent our way. Thank You Lord for my wonderful memories of Your Glory!

  16. 12:11 and whe Peter was come to himself,he sai,now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of a the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
    ————
… now I know for a surety…. Thank you Oh Lord for all those times that have saved me and delivered me from evil.
But I want to be able to discern , to perceive , and then shout for joy and victory knowing that it was the angel of the Lord sent to me to rescue me from evil.
And I am seein it, PRAISE GOD!

  17. 22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

Whenever we decide not to give God the glory and instead heap glory upon ourselves (or allow others to heap glory upon us) we are in danger of what happened in this passage. If you notice the problem wasn’t that people were singing his praises. The problem was that he didn’t give God the glory. As leaders we must redirect all praise and glory to God and now allow ourselves to be lifted up by the praises of men.

  18. 12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Prayer opens the doors, changes the fate and brightens outcome of the circumstances of life. What is impossible for man is possible with God.

  19. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

How wonderful is it to think that someone is always praying for us. Never doubt even in the hardest times, that you can’t trust God or that no one sees you or cares. People see, people care, and people of God pray. I always know that it’s those prayers unknown to me and unheard of by me that keep me when I stumble. Thank God for a praying church!

  20. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Acts of the Apostles 12:5 NLT
The church was praying the story of this chapter is that God is real and that he can do anything and that you should Know that the church is praying for you

  21. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

We never know what our pastor or a person in the church is going through, that is why we must uplift them in prayer everyday, you never know what your prayers might be doing for someone else. We are truly blessed to be apart of a praying church, and I’m thankful for every prayer that has kept me from trouble!

  22. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

It goes to show the power of prayer and how it pays to never stop praying. If a situation doesn’t seem like it isn’t going to budge, keep praying! God will move in your situation.

  23. 6. And when Her’-of would have brought him forth, the same night Pe’-ter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. 7. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Pe’-ter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. Thank you Jesus !!!! Free in Jesus name !!!!

  24. Smote by an Angel

I wonder if the same Angel who smote and woke up Peter was the same Angel who smote and killed Herod? What can we learn from these two encounters? First, let’s look at the easy one; Herod. He did not give credit where credit was due. I would predict being a King is hard. Everyone is supposed to honor you and do whatever you want them to do. This kind of thing can get to one’s head – as it did and still does with most kings, rulers and leaders. Herod paid the price for his arrogance.

Peter’s smote had a different result though; it woke him up. The scripture is literal in its tale of the story of how Peter was sleeping and smote woke him. How does this apply to us? It could be literal in that has anyone ever been awakened in the night for no obvious reason? I have. I have been awakened to nothing – it would seem. There are no lights on, no odd noises in the house and upon further inspection nothing is out of place. I then tried to go back to sleep only to have sleep run from me. It took me a few times to realize that maybe I was awakened for a purpose. I have since commenced to pray when I am awakened in the night.

I have never seen or heard of any fruit from these efforts but I believe I am doing the correct thing. It could be that Peter was not so soundly asleep, rather in a deep prayer. Or, it could be his faith in God was so strong that laying between soldiers in jail awaiting your death one can still sleep like a baby.

  25. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

  26. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

They prayed without ceasing and their prayer was answered.

  27. 19 Herod Agrippa ordered a thorough search for him. When he couldn’t be found, Herod interrogated the guards and sentenced them to death.

The power of one individual and the length he goes to, just show his might. He ordered the death of the guards who were doing their job. Herod failed to recognize that Peter’s escape was a miracle that only God could have done. But he wanted to blame someone, and unfortunately the guards paid the price with their lives.

  28. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

Pray with out ceasing… Just because you dont see it happen in a day means you have to give up. Pray and pray and then continue to pray. It may just be that there are certain bonds that your loved ones or prodigals are going to have to be set free of first. You see how first the chains were loosed..oh I prayed they didnt make it. Go pray again. There might be guards to pass through. They are still not home. Go pray again there might be a gate that the Lord needs go bust open. They did not ceases to pray untill he was at the door. We cannot do what God can but we are more powerful when we are on our knees interceding and going before the One that holds all power in His hand, our Lord Jesus. Our prayers loose chains and open doors that leads souls home. Go pray again in Jesus name.

  29. Josiah: 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
“because he saw it pleased” I pray that I never want to please the world first. Herod followed the crowd to try to destroy and kill the man of God. Herod did not get blessed by not serving God. However the church prayed. They turned to God and God heard their pray. It is my desire to always serve the Lord with my whole heart because God hears the pray of His people. He saves His people. LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD. THANK YOU JESUS! HALLELUJAH!

  30. Hannah: “5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Never underestimate the power of the Lord. He can do anything and the more prayer and unity the stronger the pray is. God freed Peter and let his chains fall off when the church prayed unceasingly. The Lord’s ways are always higher and even when there seems to be no way, he can make a way where there is no way.

  31. We need some mighty powerful Angels today especially with all that’s been going on. I know my God is faithful and will reveal all truths and will turn all things to his Glory, for those who love him! So, place your trust in him!

“Love one another! Quick to forgive!”

  32. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Notice that it wasn’t until after the prison break and a little ways down the road that Peter was come to himself. His understanding was opened that a angel delivered him not only from his enemy but from the expectations of others ; his own people.

Let us glean from these scriptures that God is sending Angels to break us out of prisons the enemy has us locked in but He is also breaking us free from the expectations others have placed on our lives. Sometime we can get so caught up on others expectations that we miss God divine will for our lives.

So, don’t expect me to do anything but the will and work of God!

  33. 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Don’t think for a moment you can get away with not giving the glory to God. Every thing that we are is because of him.

  34. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

The angel would not take him anywhere till he was presentable. He said get ready then we will go. The garment was necessary to GO do Gods work. The Bible is full of places where it instructs us on how to look 👀 before you GO. One of the first lessons that Pastor Watts taught me was, You never get a second chance at a first impression.

  35. Herrod’s shocking and sudden death raises two questions: why? And how? Luke helps us understand that is by divine judgment by the hand of God through an angel against his ungoldliness. It’s actually a pretty graphic account describing an infestation of some sort of worm, probably intestinal roundworms eventually causing an excruciating painful death. It’s important to give praise to God for his glory and not for our own. Holding it back can cause a death spiritually.

  36. 21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

What Herod did in the later portion of this chapter can easily be applied to our own walk with God. We need to be careful that in these times of blessings and revival that we are in and will continue to be in, that we give glory to God and not to ourselves! We need to make sure that our flesh does not stand in the way of God’s outpouring! The gospel will continue to spread in these last days. If we want to be a part of that, we should be careful to not be taking the glory that is due to God for ourselves as Herod did. Yes, we pray for our brethren, but when their need is resolved we need to give the glory to God, He is the one who is doing the Work! HE is the one who will allow the Church to prosper! We gotta keep on and GO share the gospel to all we meet so that ALL may have the same opportunity to have the almighty God in their lives!

  37. Though the prayer of the church was fervent due to Peter’s situation (v.5), there was a deficiency in faith (vv.15,16). Evidently they did not believe God would answer in this miraculous way, or so soon.

  38. “So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church.”
    ‭‭ACTS‬ ‭12:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There will be many occasions and circumstances that will arise, and we must unite in prayer. Pray without ceasing.

  39. v1″ Stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church”

However the hand of our Great GOD was and is greater and brought deliverance for Peter.
Trust in the LORD to fulfill HIS PROMISE of power, protection, and provisions.

  40. 2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

What good does it do to please men but displease God?

  41. “And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:7-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The Power of Submission

The angel of he Lord came to Peter and told him to do things. Over and over Peter did exactly what he was told. He was supernaturally lead past Soliders, through a gate, and out into the street. When we submit to those I authority we allow the power of a God to do amazing things in our lives.

Pastor and our her leaders in our church are voices in Our lives. They can warn, prevent things, or walk with you as you exit your problem. The things that we don’t see, that Pastor does see, is part of God’s plan. We just have to fully submit to the voice of authority so we can b lead out of captivity and into the goodness of Jesus.

  42. 1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

We can’t allow people to hold us emotionally or spiritually hostage. Not everyone is going to like how we choose to live, and what we choose to stand for, but STAND anyway. We are the ones that will an account for our actions not anyone else. Don’t let other’s sway you, search the word for yourself and stand for what is right.

“Be a pineapple, STAND TALL, wear a crown and be sweet on inside, and let the light of Jesus be seen in you”

  43. 5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

Prayers work! No matter the chains or walls that may look like they will stop you, God makes a way! He breaks the chains and it’s all through the power of praying in Jesus name! Thank you Lord for making a way out of my chains!

  44. Acts12:5 ( English Amp) So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him for him was persistently made to God by the church (assembly). Prayer is your answer, Pray in the holy ghost.

  45. 15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.
16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

These scriptures are an amazing testimony for the church was praying for Peter to be released and yet when their prayers were answered they did not believe even when it was knocking on their door. My I have the faith both to keep praying and to see the revival that is knocking at the doors of our church.

  46. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Jesus is right there with us in our darkest hour. When it seems that we are all alone, there is someone interceding on our behalf. God is making a way where there is no way!
