Acts Chapter 9

40 Days of FIRE – Day 32

Saul, a Jewish Pharisee who is passionately persecuting Christians, has a dramatic encounter with the risen Savior while on the Road to Damascus. We also read the story of Tabitha being raised to life by Peter. Pray for the church to Go Changed: physically, spiritually, and emotionally and for others to be compelled to change because of our example.

Acts 9

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

  1. Acts 9
vs. 6 – The Lord told Saul to Arise (get up) and GO
vs. 11 – The Lord told Ananias to Arise (get up) and GO
vs. 34 – Peter told Aeneas to Arise (get up) and make his bed (do something)
vs. 40 – Peter told Tabitha (Dorcas) to Arise (get up) and she sat up (she did something)

The time is NOW to Arise (Get UP) and GO Do something for the kingdom of God. GO Pray, GO to Ourtreach, GO help with the children’s ministry garage sale, GO help with the men’s ministry dinner, GO mow the church lawn, GO clean church, etc… Let all that we do, be done for the glory of God.

  2. What a transformation from Saul to Paul. We too need to put our every effort, give everything we have into the work of the kingdom. Sometimes we push ourselves for the most insignificant things, while making excuses as to why we can’t do things for the church or what God has called us to do. Lord help us to be able to push ourselves and be overcomers in all that we do.

  3. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

The coolest part of being in the church is hearing testimonies. To think of where all my friends have came from, to think how lost they were in the world. And to see them now bring joy to my heart.

Seeing Saul i can no longer not think about when he had a encounter with God. And how his life got turned upside down. When I see most of you, I can’t help but be thankful of the testimonies my friends have.

  4. This chapter is a great example of not judging a book by its cover. Paul’s background could be seen as someone who wouldn’t make a good candidate for winning souls. Thank God that he does not use according to our past. He looks for the whosoever will. For everyone who is willing to be used by God, he will use you.

  5. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

  6. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Even though Ananias was a bit hesitant, He didn’t doubt the voice and command of God. He went and birthed a new believer as some would say now. Saul became Paul and simply testified about the goodness of Jesus. Hallelujah! Go do what God says and watch His will and work unfold!

  7. GO IN COMFORT AND REST

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

We have read repeatedly of the persecution of the church and the disciples. However we read here chapter 9 that there is also a season of REST and COMFORT. I am persuaded in my spirit that JESUS has a special season of REST and COMFORT for The POFW.

This does not mean that we will not have anything going on or that we will not host any events. What this means is that JESUS will cover us with HIS protection and we will enjoy a season without the onslaught of accusation and attacks. We must persevere in JESUS until we see this come to pass.

We will continue to GO and GROW, however for a season without opposition.

YES LORD I receive this prophetic WORD in JESUS name.

  8. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

Were reminded to let the lost know it doesnt matter what they’ve done their life. They too can still get the Holy Ghost. The life changing experience is just an arms reach away.
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
Yes once receive this beautiful gift you have the Victorybut that doesnt mean your days will be without trials and test. Its your choice to stay on this faithful path God has placed you on. Remember the scales that were lifted from your eyes. Remember the truth that was revealed to you. Never forget what God has brought you from and you will remain faithful to God.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

    God bless you all!

  9. One of the more dramatic aspects of the testimony of a new convert is the change that God makes in such a short period of time. Regardless of how long they may have struggled with things in their life, it seems that God makes it possible almost overnight. Things they claimed to never have an influence over them are cast aside. Things their friends thought they’d never adhere to become new pillars in their life. They cannot help but notice that something has changed and want to know how this is possible.

Even the believers were astounded by the changes in Paul. His testimony could not have been more clear as to who had brought about the change in his life and he was not afraid or ashamed to share that testimony to all who would hear. This is who I was, this is what I was doing, this was my intent, and then God stepped in and showed me his desire… a desire so contrary to my own.

Change is powerful! God’s change is powerful with everlasting consequences! We want his hand upon our life. We want him to change anything within that would keep us from our eternal reward. That change makes a powerful difference in our own life and it doesn’t have to end there… our testimony of what God has done can be the impetus that brings about a change in another’s life as well. As we go changed, let us look forward to sharing what God has done in each of our lives that his loving work would impact many souls!

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Wow, if God can humble Saul the great persecutor of the church, God can humble anyone. But notice this one important fact, even when Jesus made himself known unto Saul, He still sent him to a man. Yep, Jesus could have told Saul the plan of salvation, but he sent him to a man. Yep, Jesus could have told him to stop going to his present church, but he sent him to a man. This man whom the Lord sent Saul to would lead him to receiving his sight and getting filled with the Holy Ghost. Saul would later be “sent” out to preach the Gospel under the “Leadership” of the Apostles. Yep, God uses man to fulfill His will in our life. He doesn’t just “send” us to and fro…He sends us to a man who turns leads us and guides us in the right way.

  11. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Miracles, Signs, and Wonders…..the miracles is what made the souls believe in the Lord!!! Only Jesus can do those miracles but He can use us. He can use our hands, our faith, our mouth, our voice, our feet, etc.

  12. Sometime God have closed our eyes for our eyes to be open when God has a plan for our he will follow through
You see in this chapter that Saul plan to kill god follower so Paul went to the hight priest to request to kill every follow but God had another plan for Saul next did he know a voice from god ask Saul why do you persecuting me then Saul answer who are you lord? And the lord answer I am JESUS the one you are persecuting . Don’t mass with GOD people

  13. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

It is our prayers that will get the attention of God where He then will pour out His Spirit and cause all to believe in Him!

  14. Acts 9:17-20 And Annas went his way and entered into the house and putting his hands on him said Brother Saul the Lord even Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou came st hath sent me that thou mightiest receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been s ales and he received sight forthwith and arose and was baptized.
Christ could have cured him so miraculously by his own power without human means as he had enlightened his heart without them but he will honor man by making him his disciple even in working miracles.

  15. 10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

There are those out there that may have some scales and are blinded by the situations in life but they are praying. Asking Lord if you are real… And here we see the opportunity for a certain disciple to go and deliver the message. It doesnt say he was a super preacher or a high minister, just a disciple willing to obey the call to go and preach the good news. We are to be an “Ananais” to a blinded world. As we are the light of the world. We are to be the disciple that goes and shares the love and good news. While you are there, lets pray for them that they might receive the light and revelation of the Gospel of Jesus.

  16. Take the scales off

We need a move a God that makes the scales fall off our eyes. These 40 days have been so great! I pray that as we continue that we see clearer than ever before. That God will remove any scales off my eyes that I may serve him better. It’s time to change for the better and get more on fire for God.

  17. AND Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2. And desired of him letters to Da-mas’-cus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Je-ru’-sa-lem. 3. And as he journeyed, he came near Da-mas’-cus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutes thou me? 5. And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Je’-sus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. I Love you Jesus !!!!! You make a way when there is no way !!!! Hallelujah !!!!

  18. 22 But their suspicions didn’t slow Saul down for even a minute. His momentum was up now and he plowed straight into the opposition, disarming the Damascus Jews and trying to show them that this Jesus was the Messiah.

Don’t let what other people think about you stop you from speaking about God! I pray that we don’t let this world stop or slow us down but we go straight to the people in this world and speak about our God!

  19. 3 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Ananias was instructed to go see a man who was well known for doing evil to christians, yet that was God’s instruction. God prepared him, let him know what to do, and when to do it, and He had also prepared Saul for the visit as well.

God is going to lead POFW Disciples to people that we might thing have no purpose or worth, or perhaps have been very evil, but God will have already worked in their hearts, and we will find a tender heart towards God and a willing vessel to be filled with the Spirit and live for God. We just must GO when God says Go.

  20. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
    VS-3-9
Sauls/Pauls conversion experience is described here and in Acts 22 and 26 this underlines the significance of Sauls unique conversion by a direct revelation of Jesus The experience must have convinced Paul that Jesus was alive that opposing Christianity was in effect persecuting God and that such a vital link existed between Jesus and his own that attacking was in effect attacking Jesus Himself.

  21. Acts9:15 English Amp) But the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of Mine to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the descendants of Israel; For I will make clear to him how much he will be afflicted and must endure and suffer for My name’s sake. Don’t let people slow you down about talking about God if someone don’t want to hear about Jesus just go to the next person and tell them. Ananias was instructed by God. Keep on doing God’s work.

  22. Hannah: “5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” These verses spoke out to me because it showed me that no matter how far away from the Lord a person is he can always bring them to him. Saul was a person who killed the people of God, and then God turned him around. He used Saul to go around the world preaching his gospel. God can use anyone and the person you see on the side of the street could be another Saul. They could become great in the Lord, and they could just need to be reached to from those who have the word of the Lord. None of us should just pass someone by by how they appear. Instead we should continue to show them the love of the Lord so that they can desire to come to him. It is my desire that I never pass someone by and not show them the love of the Lord. Instead I desire that I will always continue to show the love of the Lord to every person I pass by and reach out to.

  23. 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
What a moment of revelation for Paul! And what a amazing one God scripture for us!! The word “Lord” in the new testament can be translated “Jehovah” so what Paul was asking is “who are you Jehovah”? Jehovah God answered and said “I am Jesus” this means that the Jehovah of the old testament is the Jesus of the new testament!! Thank God for revelation of His identity.

  24. The scales of pride

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

Pride in our lives distorts or blocks our vision of the kingdom of God. Imagine driving a car with a blind fold, it would be very dangerous but this is what pride does.

  25. … and they turned to the Lord.
    … and many believed.

They saw the miracles, they saw the miraculous and they (them) believed in the Lord Jesus Crist( the gospel)
Lord, ” 40 days of fire” anointed us Lord, cleanse us Lord, prepare us Lord, so they ( the ones who come to church) may be converted once the see the miracles happening at Pofw. We believe! Help our unbelieve.

  26. This chapter is proof yet again that our God can do anything! That which is going against us and causing us anguish and persecution may be the very thing that God turns into a blessing! Surely Saul could not undo what he did in the past, but when God touched his life he became a blessing to those very same people he had been persecuting before. The same thing can happen in our lives too! God loves us and will always take care of His children, so we need to keep trusting in Him and allow Him to lead us each and every day. Trust that He will bring you through!
“Bless the Lord , O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;  Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.” – Psalms 103:1‭-‬6

  27. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
We can never judge whether a person can ever choose to serve God. He died for every soul and desires that all should be saved. It is our job to show this precious truth to everyone and let God convict their spirit. God took a persecutor of the church and changed his life so that he could bring people to the truth. How much more can he do today if we obey Jesus and witness to that one soul that appears to be antagonistic and against this precious truth….”and we know that with God, all things are possible.”

  28. Josiah: 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
“Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” Saul was on his way to Damascus to take people in the church in chains to Jerusalem. Yet even when the Lord spoke to him what does it say? It says “he trembling” Even people in this world recognize the power of God. In fact the devils believe also and tremble. Yet, despite Saul going to persecute the church when God spoke and the light shined he asked “Lord,” He recognized the power and position of God. Then the verse goes on to say “what wilt THOU have me to do?” This question is one that I pray I never stop asking because it is not about me, but it is about Him. THANK YOU JESUS! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD! THANK YOU JESUS! HALLELUJAH!

  29. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

Many times those we don’t really see as worth the time God calls them chosen vessels. With the natural eye we see broken vessel, worthless vessel, or useless vessel and God sees chosen. Even in our own lives we know all of our personal faults and failures and God says we are chosen.

We were chosen for this hour to be willing vessels that will lead others to Him. We just have to get our minds off of the brokenness and focus on the fact that He chose us. Chosen vessels are really broken vessels that have taken their eyes off themselves and focused them on God.

  30. 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

This verse reminds me that, even those, especially those that persecute the church can be saved. The testimony of Saul also shows that, those that persecute the church can be some of the best soul winners for the church. May God reach more Sauls today, and may more Sauls be witnessed to in Jesus name.

  31. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

  32. 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks

It wasn’t that Saul was a bad guy to begin with, but instead a confused man. He thought he was doing God’s will but really working against him. That same zealous spirit if corrected in the right way would be unstoppable. His revelation sparked a revival I wonder what would happen if we had more Sauls who saw the light.

  33. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

I know we all heard this line before ” seeing is believing” pretty much like I’m not going to be live it unless I experience it. Maybe we have some lost loved ones that have told us this when we’re trying to convince them to come to our church. Don’t get discouraged keep telling about Jesus and tell them what God had some all the miracles God is performing and we eill build faith will be buildt. Our friends aquaintces will want to come find out what we are all about! There hungry people even in the last days

  34. 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

God revealed Himself to Saul that day. How awesome He revealed His name.
Saul recognized even I’m his blinded state that the Almighty was speaking to him.
The light will reveal Gods Diety. Let us reflect the light of Jedu SD I’m this dark world. In Jesus Name
    His Strength is Perfect

  35. Through this chapter we see Saul is directed to Get Up and GO. It would be easy for Saul to fall into into a state of selfishness and ignore the direction. It would be easy for Saul to call back into his old habits, but he doesn’t. We should take this example and apply it into our own lives.

When the Lord says Get up and Go; it’s as simple as that. Get up and Go.

    Deut 30:10
If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

  36. v31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and we’re edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Not only does HIS Spirit empower and saves us, but it also comforts our hearts because HIS PRESENCE dwells in us.

  37. It is important to listen to God when he speaks to you or when other people speak through him to you. Saul was a terrible man. People avoided him. The man who visits Saul sis just If you want to be used to open blind eyes, then give up and let God be in control.

  38. Acts 9:15-17 Note that even Saul’s commision does not come directly from God but through a God-appointed disciple. his apostolic authority did come directly from Christ, not by succession through one of the apostles

v.16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
II Corinthians 4:11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

  39. “Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are some feel that they must have certain qualifications, a certain number of years experience or just a preach or minister to be used of God. That thought is simply not true. The scripture said it was a believer or a disciple. That is one who is following, believing and a learner in Christ. He can use any disciple, are you willing to GO?

  40. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

God is merciful. Instead of taking down Saul, He gave Him a chance to receive eternal life.

  41. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

God has a plan for all of us. We will go through tríals in our lives and we will live to tell many testimonies that we gone through for our fathers sake.

  42. 32 As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord’s people who lived in Lydda. 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. 34 “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up. 35 All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

This is the kind of revival that I would love to see at Los Pentecostales. That a man that is very know in a community that has a serious illness or disability would be healed in Jesus name, and all those who live in the community and surroundings would see him whole again, and turn to the Lord.

This is a Jesus Miracle. Besides preaching in every place that he would be, he was known as well for healing all manner of sickness.

    Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
    17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

It can be your signs, if you have enough belief.

  43. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

  44. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

I love that to find his sight Saul had to go to the straight path. I find it interesting that of all the streets that he was told to go to he went to Straight street. Not Easy street. Not anywhere else. When he got set straight he went to Straight street.

  45. 22 But their suspicions didn’t slow Saul down for even a minute. His momentum was up now and he plowed straight into the opposition, disarming the Damascus Jews and trying to show them that this Jesus was the Messiah.

According to recognized aero technical tests, the bumblebee cannot fly because of the shape and weight of the body in relation to the total wing area. The bumblebee does not know this, so it goes ahead and flies anyway. It is time to stop playing church. We can live for God. We can live in this world and live for God at the same time. As long as we live with one foot in the world, living according to the world’s values and for the world’s goals, Satan won’t trouble us. We can go to church and even pray and read our Bible, and he won’t mind. The minute we wake up and commit ourselves to Jesus, our lives will take a new purpose.

We were created to worship God. That is our original purpose. We get distracted by life and our own desires and our original purpose becomes distorted. We start listening to voices other than the one who created us. What if the simple bumblebee decided no listen to the creator’s voice?
