Psalm 103

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

19 The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.

  1. Verses 1-5 NLT “Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” Thank you Lord for loving me, as we sang yesterday “Jesus I love you, I love you, because you care. I couldn’t imagine if you weren’t there.”

  2. Praise God! Let Your praises ever be on my lips, O LORD!! I bless Your name! Let us never for get who You are and the great and mighty things You have done! Let us forget not Your benefits, for they are everlasting.

  3. The commandment in this chapter is to “Bless the Lord”

In everything we can find reason to Bless the Lord. He daily loadeth us with benefits, He watches over us, protects, provides, shines His favor, grace and mercy upon us. Daily we should be reminded of where He has brought us from and that in itself should be reason for us to Bless The Lord!

  4. Our God is a good God and worthy of all praise. There’s no need to stay in trouble when God is able to bring you out of it. There is no need to remain sick when God is able to heal. We must not forget the benefits of the Lord and hold fast to his promise.

  5. 1. Praise the LORD, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise His holy Name!

    2. Praise the LORD, O my soul! Do not forget all His kind deeds!

    22. Praise the LORD, all that He has made, in all the regions of His kingdom! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

This chapter opens and closes with praise unto God, and in between are plenty of reasons why we should praise Him. If you run out of theses reasons, He is always worthy of praise just because of who He is!

  6. 5He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

How blessed we are that God meets our needs daily. Though we age gracefully and can’t do the things we use to as youths, doesn’t mean we should stop worshipping and praising God. But let our spirit be renewed and strengthen daily by reading the Word, and praising God daily.

  7. GO BLESS THE LORD

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

I will BLESS. There are multiple meanings for the word BLESS. Some we know as cultural, and some scriptural. However when I think about BLESS the LORD with my soul and all that is within me, i don’t believe it was just some passing action of half hearted effort.

The word BLESS here in verse 1 is:

1288. barak, baw-rak´; a primitive root; to kneel; by implication to bless God (as an act of adoration)

BLESS – a: praise, glorify bless his holy name. b: to speak well of : approve

I believe the spirit of the Psalmist is to be passionate, give all, invest much, dedicate energy and be purposeful in his effort to bring attention to our LORD JESUS. Even the closing verses of the chapter indicate that there is great effort in honoring the name of the LORD.

Everyone should approach today with the unrelenting intent to BLESS the LORD.

    Lets GO BLESS THE LORD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  8. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

10 He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

Praise the Lord O my soul

  9. Let all that I am praise the Lord ; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
    Psalms 103:2‭-‬5 NLT
What great God we serve he is heading a forgive loving and filled with mecry slow to angry and fast to forgiving how can I set here and not be remind of the great things God done for me I’ve got to praise JESUS is enough for me

  10. The mercies of the Lord are new every morning.. how could I not bless his name? Just as that song, when I think of all the Lord has done for me… ‘Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;’ The psalmist continues to give example after example of the Lord’s mercy and the reasons for praising him name. O let my soul be satisfied, let me be thankful and bless his name!

Lest I should take his mercy for granted, we are reminded, ‘He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.’ If we received only what we’ve deserved from God there would not be much hope for man… and the psalmist reminds us that his opportunity does not last forever. There is an end even to God’s patience and when it comes we don’t want to be the focus of his anger and wrath. We need to remember that when it says he will not always chide with man, it is not just a revelation of the end. Each of us had an appointed day with the Lord and when that day has come it will be too late to make things right with God. This is the day that the Lord has made and I will resolve and be glad in it!

Although it is true that, ‘As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more,’ I will redeem the time that I have been given. This vapor can make a difference in the lives around me because ‘the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him…’ As long as his mercy endures his people will praise his name, so let my soul do the same! If the Angels bless the Lord and hearken unto the voice of his word, should not I do the same? If I am part of the host that is called to serve according to his pleasure, ‘Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.’ It is hard to find an exception to this last verse, so bless the Lord all my soul and all that is within me!

  11. Strength in Him

20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

His angels encamp about us. They are powerful and are dispatched when we need them.
Someone recently asked me why do bad things happen to those who are serving God doing everything they to do. I could not give them an answer except that there are more angels of light than darkness. The enemy us put to destroy and defeat but God’s army is greater. His angels beckon at His voice and His voice is as thunder yet His ways ever so gentle to carry ys through each obstacles of life. His Strength is Perfect

  12. 21: Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

This verse is not an excuse from praising God, but a call to Praise Him more than ever before! We are privileged to praise Jesus with so many!

Luke 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

The Lord will be praised. If we want to be honored to give Him that praise we must continue to stir apraise within us. When we’ve praised Him with all we have, we must Go Praise Again!

“God’s praise is a subject that will never be exhausted, and therefore we must never think this work done till we come to heaven, where it will be forever in the doing.” – Matthew Henrys Commentary

  13. If we did not face the storms of ife,the rainy dsys, pain and suffering how would we ever know the peace that God brings. His sacrifice would have been useless and oh His love us so ever reaching. His ways ever so kind and fulfilling.
No we do not have all the answers but the true answer us found in serving the Lord with gladness I truly love serving the Lord!

  14. Let all that I am praise the Lord ; may A never forget
the good things he does for me. Spalms 103: 2 NLT

  15. I Love Love To Worship The Lord

    David praises Go
D for the many mercies that unveil the compassion of Him and lead all beings everywhere to praise The Lord
    Gods compassion
Forgiveness is the prime expression of Gods compassion for a needy humanity These verses explain the nature of the forgiveness we enjoy as well as any passage in the OT or NT

  16. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

  17. Psalms 103:1-2
1)Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2)Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

To often we worship the Lord half-heartedly. “We honor Him with our lips, but our hearts are far from Him.”
BUT when we begin to think about ALL His Benifits, how He forgives us, He heals us, He redeems us, He loves us, He’s merciful to us, He’s gracious unto us, etc… How can you not Bless The Lord and All that is a Within You?

When I Think of the Goodness of JESUS and All He has Done for Me, My Soul cries out HALLELUJAH!!

  18. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

So far, the Lord has helped me remember this verse; it is one of my favorites. What if the verse had stated as far as the north is from the south, would it be different? Suppose we could take a journey to find our sins. We start traveling east to find where the west begins. As long as we continue to travel east we will never find our sins because there is no east west boundary. One who travels east will always travel east until they turn around.

However, north has a defining separation from the south. If one travels north at some point you will start traveling south. There are no east or west poles to define where the east and west start and stop. There is a north pole and any direction traveled from that pole is south. The same for the south pole, if you are there, any direction you proceed will be north.

I think there is more to the shape of the planet in this verse. When Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden they were sent East – away from God. In Genesis 4:16 Cain went away from the presence of God to a city east of Eden. In 11:2 when the people decide to rebel against God and make a tower to show how great they are, they migrated to the east. When Lot separates from Abraham, he chooses the land of the east – away from God’s chosen man 13:11. Again in 25:6 when Abraham sends the sons of his concubines away from his promised son, Isaac, he sends them to the east country.

So, if movement east represents movement away from God and separation from his people, then perhaps that’s the point of this verse. Maybe the point is not the infinite distance between east and west, but the biblical imagery of being removed from God’s people and the land of promise. He removes our sin from us, just as he removed sinners from his promised land, to purify us.

  19. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Bless the Lord for he is more than Good to us. He has taken our place in judgement and redeemed us. We should never forget his daily benefits and the mercy he gives. Because of Him we are forgiven and that is more than enough to be thankful and praise him.

  20. Josiah: 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
    3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
“…forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities…” God died on the cross for us, so that our sins could be forgiven. He died for you and me and offers us so many benefits including forgiveness. Yet, all we have to do is ask and it shall be given as long as it is in His will. Seek and ye shall find. The Lord offers so much and asks for so little. He did not have to die for us, but “God so loved the world…” SO, LET US GO PRAISE THE LORD! The Bible says “Let EVERYTHING that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.” SO, LET US GO PRAISE OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST WHO DIED FOR OUR SINS!

  21. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

This verse I am reminded of what was written of an old author I had learned about, I do not remember his name now. But he had said even if the sky where parchment (paper) and the oceans ink we still would not have enough space or ink to write all the good things that God has done. Every now and again I stop to think of it and ways around what the old writer said but every time. I am reminded of the multitude of the people I know he has done good for and how much more I do not know. I am convinced again of how true that record is. I just want to thank God of all he done for me and everyone else past, future and present.

  22. 15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth

Flourisheth – to blossom, shine, sparkle

So let the lord shine through you, exalt his name for he is worthy to be praised. Spread Gods love and share the Gospel to one another. Everyday is another day to be taking advantage of to share the Gospel to someone who is lost. Let that light shine or FLOURISHETH to others. Don’t float with wind, Grow in the Wind!

  23. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

Praise Him for his great love, mercy and grace to bring us to repentance and salvation. What a mighty God we serve!

  24. iLove to Go Blog
13Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.14For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

So many times while praying with folks I hear them talk about how unworthy they are to God. They don’t think they would ever be able to receive the Holy Ghost or ever be able to receive anything from the Lord. So many times I ask the simple question when I know they have children. “Would you not forgive your children if they came to you with sincerity and asked for forgiveness?” This scripture in 13 describes that scenario completely. God loves us!

  25. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

    3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

    4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

What other reason do you need to bless His name? He forgives us of our sins, heals us of our sickness, shows us mercy and kindness with His blessings! So why wait to bless His name when He answers a certain prayer when he has already given us plenty of reasons to praise Him now! I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth!

  26. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

    Throwback Sunday.
And old song that we used to sing at my old church in Illionis
Bless the Lord, o my soul. And all that is within me. Bless his holy name.
For he has done great things, he has done great things, he has done great things. Bless his holy name.

Young people-don’t ever forget what you learn as a child and these years in your life. They will stay with you forever. Make the best of them. Do good. Follow God and his will. Be a servant. And know without a shadow of a doubt that He is God. And he can do all things. Remember to love like Him and lean not unto your own understanding. All these things that I just spoke about, were things that I had learned at your ages. Weaver not. And be blessed.
    #GODOSOMETHING for God

  27. 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

There should be something on the inside of us that blesses the Lord and gives God all the praise. Through thick and thin blessing and trials our attitude should be to bless the Lord and give him praise for what he has done!

  28. Psalms 103:10 & 11 He hath not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

Thank you Jesus for for dying on the cross for my sins thank you Jesus for mercy and Grace.

  29. What we deserve

10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

I’m very thankful that we don’t get what we deserve. If we did get what we deserved, Adam would have been killed after his transgression and none of us would have been here. From the very beginning God has given us mercy, he has been a good father watching his children grow and become. We should be careful to watch our hearts that we don’t want someone to “get what they deserve”. Jesus already paid the price for us so we don’t hold things against people. Letting it go and loving people where they are is how the Kingdom works. We defiantly have to watch the direction of a person to know how and when to interact with them but we don’t judge. That is his job. But ultimately we extend grace just as he has to us. No one is going to come and be the perfect church member but we can help each other get better every day. Thank God for grace

  30. The grace of God could not be more beautifully described. As sinners we can cause him pain, yet he responds to us entirely unlike we are humanly inclined to respond. When someone treats us badly, we may feel justified to make them feel badly in return. Even though they may deserve it, we too deserve God’s wrath, but he gives us compassion and abundant love instead. He treats us in the very opposite way than we deserve. In Romans 12:9-21 Paul gives us a tall order of how this Godly “sincere” love should be lived out in our relationships.

  31. 11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Its been said time and again, we repent for sins that God has already forgiven us for, and hes like what is this child talkin bout, once we ask for forgiveness He forgives, His mercy is so great, and so awesome Thank you Jesus for your forgiveness! Thank you Lord for allowing me to accomplish this part of my Journey with You and POFW! What Now Jesus! Thy will be done!

  32. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord , ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
    Psalms 103:17‭-‬20 KJV

I should always praise God and magnify his kingdom. God is great to be praised and worship. His name should be on my lips 24 hours a day.

  33. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

When I look back over my life I can see that He should have killed me because of my iniquity yet He loved me. I cannot describe His mercy. For my mind cannot comprehend it. We serve a merciful God that deserves our praise.

  34. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

God has great mercy on those who honor and obey him.

  35. 15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

These scriptures should remind us that our life isn’t much. And we don’t have time to waste it on useless and pointless things. It’s like. A vapor in the wind. STAY FOCUS

  36. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Hallelujah and thank you Jesus for mercies made new everyday. The thought that He has cast my sins as far as the east is from the west blows my mind; He could’ve said any other comparison, He could’ve said north and south but He didn’t. East to west never ends, they’re a continual direction unlike north and south that eventually hit an end. North eventually becomes south and vise versa, but thank God His mercies have no end – “…You know just how far the east is from the west, from one scarred hand to the other.”

  37. “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The benefits of the Lord a innumerable. One of which is that he satisfieth our mouth with good things. That means we are filled with good things in our mouth.

    Good in Hebrew:
    towb-
    adj
    good, pleasant, agreeable
    pleasant, agreeable (to the senses)
    pleasant (to the higher nature)
    good, excellent (of its kind)
    good, rich, valuable in estimation
    good, appropriate, becoming
    better (comparative)
glad, happy, prosperous (of man’s sensuous nature)
good understanding (of man’s intellectual nature)
    good, kind, benign
    good, right (ethical)
    n m
    a good thing, benefit, welfare
    welfare, prosperity, happiness
    good things (collective)
    good, benefit
    moral good
    n f
    welfare, benefit, good things
    welfare, prosperity, happiness
    good things (collective)
    bounty

Let’s speak well and be satisfied as we are filled with GOOD. When we speak negatively we are not satisfied (that’s why negative talkers just keep going on and on).

  38. Psalm 103:3 ( Enghlish Amp)Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies and crowns you with loving- kindness and tender mercy. God forgives your inquities. Heal your diseases.Thank you Jesus for a new life with you.

  39. Micah4 [English Amp] And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall dwell ( secure) , for then shall He be great (even) to the ends of the earth. [Ps.72:8] He [ Christ] shall have dominion also from sea to sea and from the River [ Euphrates] to the ends of the earth. Jesus is same today and forever. He is our mighty God that protects us and watched over us.
