Psalm 105

O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:

18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:

19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.

21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:

22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.

26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.

27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.

28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.

29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.

30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.

31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.

32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.

33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.

34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,

35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.

36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.

37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.

40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Verses 1-6 AMP “O give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the people. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonderful acts and devoutly praise them. Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those who seek and require the Lord [as their most essential need] rejoice. Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. Remember [with awe and gratitude] the wonderful things which He has done, His amazing deeds and the judgments uttered by His mouth [on His enemies, as in Egypt], O you offspring of Abraham, His servant, O you sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!” These verses reminded me of our Sunday School lesson Sunday, as we spoke about “memorials”…… when the Israelites once again crossed the Jordan River on dry ground. They had something that would now remind them of the mighty miracle that God had done for them; so, that future generations would also know.

  2. 4. Seek the LORD and the strength he gives! Seek his presence continually! NET

    Take me into Your presence
    Take me into Your presence, Lord
    Take me into Your presence
    I want to be with You

    For You oh God are an awesome, awesome God!

    4. Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him. NLT

    Jeremiah 29:13
    And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. KJV

    Since God inhabits the praises of His People, the best way to find Him is to create an atmosphere of praise.

    Psalm 34:1
    I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. KJV

  3. 14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
    15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

    There is a covering over our lives that God has placed and as long as we are walking under our anointing we are safe. That’s why I believe the devil uses fear so much, and uses mental tactics because he has limits on what he can do. God protected job as much as he could handle. The devil brought disease to his body and death to his land but wasn’t allowed to do him harm. We have that same protection as long as we stay under our covering.

  4. 2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

    O, how I praise Your name, Jesus! You are such a worthy God! You are so mighty and Righteous! With my lips, my heart, my voice, my spirit, my hands, my feet will I praise You!! You are Glorious!!!

  5. All this happened so they would follow his decrees and obey his instructions. Praise the LORD! Psalms 105:45 NLT

    Lord you been good to us. may we remember your wonderful works and walk in obedience.

  6. GO IN THE FAVOR OF GOD

    24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

    Our Father in Heaven has great desire to Bless, Protect and Provide for us. We as Born Again children of the LORD have opportunity to live under the protective banner of the LORD JESUS. The Kingdom of GOD is identified with “Increase”.

    Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

    Participating in the Kingdom of GOD means INCREASE and the Favor of GOD. Participating in the Kingdom of GOD through Prayer, Worship, Bible Study, Giving Tithe (10%) and offerings (General “Temple”, Missions, Special) to invest in the Kingdom so that GOD can return to us through HIS abundance.

    Take a look back over our lives and identify the areas that we have fully committed to GOD and we will see that HIS abundant favor is our source.

    Everywhere we GO and everything we say and do should be founded and accomplished through the WORD and WILL of GOD.

    Following GOD has tremendous benefits.

    Lets GO

    24And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

    No matter what the weapons is I want you to know we win! The enemy is not nearly as powerful as some might think. Israel was always more powerful than their enemy. We are always more powerful than our enemy as well. We have to realize we outnumber the enemy 2 to 1. Yep, the devil only took 1/3 of the angels with him. Why do we go through life thinking we are outnumbered? We are far stronger than we realize.

    1 John 4:4 KJV  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  9. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    As Pastor just recently asked us, “What’s in your mouth?” We need to fill our mouths with Jesus talk so there’s no room for negativity.

  10. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

    44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

    45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

    God is always providing, he knows our situation, the beginning of it and how its gonna play out!

  11. 42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

    In times of trouble and heartache it may seem like God has forgotten you, but that is not the case. The trial you’re going through is only apart of the journey that is going to bring you to your promises from the Lord! Just keeping pushing, praying, and praising your way through, your promises are on the way!

    “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭30:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  12. 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
    Being on Gods side we have to remember what the Bible says.“And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    It’s says the devil took only 1/3 of the stars with him, talking about the angels. So when we feel like we’re being attacked remember we still have 2/3rds on our side so the enemy is trying to fight a battle that’s already one. The Lord has made us stronger and gave us the upper hand for a reason so today GO in boldness and speak the truth to one another!

  13. 41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

    42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

    God keeps his promises! Way back thousands of years ago God made promises to Abraham and he still keeps those promises today. He said himself that His word will not return to Him void but it will accomplish that its been sent out to do. Be encouraged and know that If God said it he meant it and it will happen.

  14. Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
    Psalms 105:1‭-‬2 NLT

    My mouth keep quiet about the wonderful works of God I have to tell someone I will proclaim his great name and tell everyone that I know Jesus has set me free and I will praise his name

  15. 2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    Good and evil cannot flow from the say vessel. If we are talking of His wondrous works, the mighty things He has done then we will not have the opportunity to speak of gossip, or things that would destroy or tear down.

  16. 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

    I know that with God on my side; the enemy doesn’t stand a chance. There is nothing that the enemy can throw at me that God won’t protect me from.

    Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgement You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

    I will GO in BOLDNESS, to let those know about the goodness of Jesus. How wonderful God is. Give my testimony of what He has done in my life. Thank you Jesus for your GOodness.

    Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.

  17. Jesus on your mind, Jesus on your radio, Jesus on you phone, Jesus in books you read, Jesus goodworks on shows you watch. You cant go wrong. Jesus at mealtimes!!

  18. Psalm 105:24

    And he increased his people greatly. In Goshen they seem to have increased rapidly from the first, and this excited the fears of the Egypt, inns, so that they tried to delay their increase by oppression, but the Lord continued to bless them,And made them stronger than their enemies.

    Increase attained under great persecution and opposition so just keep PRAISING !!!!

    Exodus 1:7,9
    And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was
    filled with them.
    v.9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

  19. Josiah: 3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
    If God is for us who can stand against us? It says “23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham. 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.” Earlier it says “let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.” God’s people can rejoice because if we seek, serve and obey the Lord, God can get us through and past our trials, obstacles, and people we could not get past on our own. We can stronger then our enemies through Christ who strengthens us. Since it is God who gets us through we should “3 Glory ye in his holy name:” In Jesus name where there is power, power, wonderful working power in the name of the Lord. So, let us GO in His name! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  20. 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

    God had made us stronger than out enemies!

    Ephesians 6:12King James Version (KJV)

    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    Satan may have power ober darkness bit he doesnt have power ober us. Our flesh is what we wrestle with but we have power that lives within us THE HOLY GHOST it makes us overcomers cause we know that if we stand on God word, stay strong in faith while fighting this battle but never giving up we will rise and our enemies will scatter. HALLELUJAH!!

    Deuteronomy 28:7
    The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

  21. 42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

    44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

    45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

    When we are blessed and living of the great benefits and promises of God we have to make sure that we keep what verse 45 says; that they might observe his statutes and keep his laws.

  22. Psalms 105:1-2
    1) O GIVE thanks unto the LORD: call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
    2) Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    Make known His deeds among the people: Talk ye of all His wondrous works.
    GO Testify – GO Witness

  23. Is it really that important to share my testimony:
    – make known his deeds among the people
    – talk ye of all his wondrous works
    – Remember his marvellous works that he hath done

    God may have been speaking to Israel but the same principle applies today! We need to share what God has done and remind ourselves of whom were serve. Israel had a host of powerful examples the psalmist reminds them of. The ten plagues are recalled in all their glory… but there was an even greater testimony when he brings to their attention his everlasting covenant with Israel. That promise was going to be kept!

    Joseph may not have appreciated what he had to go through in his life, but he had a dream of what God was going to do. That vision wasn’t going to happen all by itself. It required some preparation through some trying ordeals. His testimony all by itself is powerful! When shared with the rest of Israel in the light of God’s promises it adds another dimension to the story.

    If we want to be powerfully used of God to make a difference among his people, we’re going to be prepared to be refined in the fire. Our testimony at the time may appear to be just one of survival but God did not invest that kind of effort in our life for us to just survive. In due season we’re going to reap some benefits and harvest from those trials if we faint not, so DON’T EVER GIVE UP! When we’ve done all we can do, we’re instructed having done all, to stand! And while we’re doing so, share the testimony of what God has done!

  24. 44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;

    I believe that POFW has inherited the labour of people who have come before us. I do not know the names of the Godly men who have stood ground in the city of Fort Worth and claimed victories and spoke prophecies over this city. While we have toiled and plowed the ground there are decades of plantings that we are harvesting. We have done some work but there has been working going on in this city for many years. What a blessing to reap the harvest that someone else has planted. It is not that we take it for granted but we should be respectful and thankful for the patriarchs that have blazed a trail for us in this city.

  25. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
    VS:1-3
    Thank the Lord for all his glorious things he does proclam them to all the nations. Sing his praises and tell ever one about his miracles. Glory in the Lord O worshipers of God rejoice.
    VS-1 tells us to thank the Lord for all he does and is doing. I could wright a book for of vs-1 to begin with i was deliverd from being a drug addict living a very dangerous life as an out law in and out of jail i sold drugs stold for my drug addiction i shot alot of different drugs up my arm and i am sure i came very close to drug over doses and was close to death this is really just a very litlle of all i was in volved with and also new some very important and dangerous people that were very big in the under groung other words if they suspicted something fishes about they would had have me killed
    Yes i am very thankful the Lord pulled me out and filled me with his spirit also putting me in the best CHURCH IN THE WORLD AND HAVING THE GREASTEST PASTOR AND GREATEST FIRST LADY yes i PRAISE GOD FOR VS1-3

  26. Find your blessing.

    Wow, as we read in this chapter, we read of the many great works God performed. This is a testament to the work that God does for us each and every day. From the protection he gives us, to the help in times of need, the battles that he fights for us, ect. When God promises something, he will not let it go, he will not forget it. Just as we don’t see the daily groweth of grass; in a week or two we know its time to mow the lawn. We may not see the true fulfillment of a promise until the very end, but when we look back of where we were at. WOW we can then see the groweth, the place that God brought us from or kept us from. Young people- as a an adult I can tell you from my experiences in my 26 yrs on this earth. That God has never left me out to dry, never left me alone to fend for myself. And looking back of where I came from Spiritually, I can say THANK YOU JESUS FOR HIS MERCY, for it is everlasting. From moving 925 miles from my family, to losing my father at the age of 14, having a rough start with my step-parent, to losing friends through death. There is still a praise in my heart and on my lips, because God has never yet or will, fail me. And if anyone tells you other wise,know that they are the ones that quit on God. As a youth ministry Let’s lead the way for our generation and generations to follow, how to serve and trust in the all knowing, all together lovely Heavenly Father. Jesus. He is all we will ever need or want. So……
    #GODOSOMETHING

  27. 2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

    This verse is a reminder of his wondrous works that he has done for me. How he has saved me, healed me and brought me out when I was young. How he has blessed the people of God. May I bless him in turn, Just like Jehoshaphat and his people also blessed God in the valley of Berachah (2 Chronicles 20:26).

  28. 1-3 Hallelujah! Thank God! Pray to him by name! Tell everyone you meet what he has done! Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs, you who seek God. Live a happy life!

    Tell everyone you see about the wonders God has done and will do! God I give the highest praise to you! Hallelujah! Praise be to God for you are so worth of all of the praise! I give my all to you Lord, thank you for all you do!

  29. 39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
    40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
    41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

    No matter the situation we might be in the Lord will provide. Jesus will always give us what we need. Jesus is always faithful and when things go against us we just completely have to trust Him. When we have a relationship with God and make Him our friend, He is always there listening to us.

  30. 4Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

    Just like we are seeking for better opportunities to better ourselves at work, school or group, we should do the same seeking the Lord. This will strengthen us by reading the Word, worshiping, praising and serving in the church. If we stop seeking God, we’ll weaken ourselves little by little.

  31. If God seems distant to you be persistent in your search for him.
    Jesus said “seek and you will find”.

    Did God use the Egyptians to hate the Israelites? no

    .he is not the author of evil

    Often we use are freedoms to please ourselves but are pleasures should rather be pleasing god in are doings.

    This is beautiful masterpiece of Gods love for his people who only deserved judgement.
    His love and and mercy are not limited to are faithfullnes towards him but
    He was so merciful to give up his life while robed in flesh for when we were yet in sin.

    If he can do this for us when were in sin , How much more do you think he can do for us now since we are his blood bought children ?

  32. God truly takes care of His children! This Psalm shows as a reminder of the goodness, mercy, and love of God that He showed the Israelites throughout their history. God not only takes care of His children in the times of need,  but He also already knows what is going to happen and He prepares certain things to happen in advance so His children are taken care of! We have no need to worry about whether we will make it through a trial because God’s own works in the Bible show that with His help we will! God cares for us and for this we can praise Him! We can praise Him for what He has done and for what He will do! We can literally praise Him all the time!! Glory to God!

  33. Upholding The Angel of the House

    15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

    We are to lift up the man of God . To adhere and speak highly. Doing him no harm.
    I recall my daddy telling the story of the two boys who called a prophet baldy in the Bible the story goes on to say a,she bear came and ate the boys. No whether or not the prophet nay gave looked funny to the boys it was in direct disobedience to the word of God. So be careful who u longer around and if they r talking about our pastor you better flee. God has placed him and our first lady to watch for our souks. How blessed we are.
    His Strength is Perfect

  34. Rivers in the Wasteland

    41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.

    42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.

    The dry places of the land are like the ones of us who had never known the Holy Ghost. Just as God gushed the waters out where they had never been before, he gave us the Holy Ghost when we were ignorant of it. It is not about who we are or what we have done but it is about the promise. It is to all who are afar off even as many as He shall call. Just as God pulled the mountains and lands out of the oceans he can give the miracle of his Spirit to an unworthy man. Thank God for Rivers in the Wasteland!

  35. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
    3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
    4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

  36. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.5

    5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

    42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:

  37. This chapter recounts Israels history were used as exhortations to God’s people, reminding them of God’s faithfulness over time, so they would be encouraged to stay faithful to him. Our testimonies can also encourage our hearts by recalling events were God clearly moved in his power and love in our lives.

  38. Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.
    (Psalms 105:19 KJV)

    Sometimes we are tested in our trials by God for him to see how our faith is with him. He tests us to prove us and cause us to grow.

  39. Psalm 105:42 For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.

    He will never forget!

    This holy book called the Bible, is an instructional book to guide us to heaven. A map to navigate this world. It is full of prophesies, a glacé into the plans God has for humanity. It is full of unforgettable promises made by an infallible God.

    If God has undoubtedly spoken a word to you, His word cannot come back empty. We can stand on what comes out of his mouth.

  40. 42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
    43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
    44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
    45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord.

    God “spoke and smote” because He “remembered his holy promise.” People of God, He will come to our aid we must be willing to remind Him of His promise to us by going to Him in prayer. Verse 45 tells us that after He comes to our aid His expectation is for us to continue to observe His statutes and keep His law. Yet we can’t forget to “praise ye the Lord” for praise is a continual weapon used to fight off our enemies.

  41. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
    2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
    3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.
    4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
    5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

    If we don’t truly hear this, and take it to heart, how are we passing Jesus on to our children??

  42. 7 He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
    8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
    I am so thankful that our God is a God who is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. He will never leave us nor forsake us. His mercy endures forever and he will always be right by our side. We do not have to worry that he is too busy or unavailable to help us. We just have to make sure that we are not unavailable or too preoccupied with the things of this life to be with him and serve him with all of our heart, mind and spirit.

  43. 24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.

    He blessed those that stood by him and trusted him. Made them bigger and stronger then their enemies.

  44. “Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭105:19‬ ‭KJV

    Joseph had to wait for the right timing. He was given a word from the Lord, but he didn’t get it immediately. Many trials occurred between hearing and seeing. Our world today is so fast paced that many people have a microwave mentality to their life. Waiting should be diminished as our world is fast paced, right? NO! With God it is still, “Get a word. Wait for it to grow into reality.” Sometimes God doesthinfs instantly, but most of the time He requires our patience. That is something the whole world needs to work on.
