Psalm 107

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  1. Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord. (‭Psalms‬ ‭107‬:‭43‬ NLT)

    Thank you Jesus for your faithfulness to me, the chief of sinners!!!

  2. Verses 42-43 MSG “Good people see this and are glad; bad people are speechless, stopped in their tracks. If you are really wise, you’ll think this over—it’s time you appreciated God’s deep love.” So many mercies and chances/opportunities we are given by our loving God and yet so many still complain. This generation has been handed so many blessings, yet they seem to take advantage of what is given to them so freely. We must remember our memorials and look back at all that previous generations had to go through in order for us to be receiving the freedoms and blessings we enjoy today. Psalm 118:29 CEV says “Tell the Lord how thankful you are, because he is kind and always merciful.”

  3. 41. Yet he protected the needy from oppression, and cared for his families like a flock of sheep.

    42. When the godly see this, they rejoice, and every sinner shuts his mouth.

    43. Whoever is wise, let him take note of these things! Let them consider the LORD’s acts of loyal love! NET

    43. Is there anyone wise? If so, may the wise take notice of these things and reflect upon the loyal love of the Eternal. Voice

    Is there anyone wise? A valid question when you consider what is happening around us. The ones that are wise can see that God protects His family. It’s not wise to wander from under His protection in these perilous times!

  4. 27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

    28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

    29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

    When our life is a mess, Jesus can and will come in and fix it if we will let him.

  5. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
    2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  6. 42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

    It’s important to stop during our busy lives and observe how loving and great our God really is! We live such hectic and busy lives that sometimes we don’t notice the greatest things that God does in our lives are just waiting to be observed.

  7. Those who are wise will take all this to heart; they will see in our history the faithful love of the Lord. 107:43 NLT

  8. He is The One That Fills Every Longing

    9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

    You can search high and low. You can wander all over the earth yet there is not one thing that will fill that deep longing within you but His Love His peace .
    He does satisfy the longing soul and fills the hungry. He us my ever sustain Love.
    He us doing miracles in my life things that only God is capable of doing. When I had lost hope I still praised Him the best I could though in weakness fromm time to time yet He became the strength. Without Him I am nothing . In humbleness with all my inadequacy I will praise the name of the Lord !

  9. 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
    9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

    Hallelujah and thank You Jesus for satisfying the longing within us. You are so good God, nothing and no one could ever compare to how wonderful and terrible You are!!

  10. 42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  11. 41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

    42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

    God Is always saving us, when we are drowning in whatever it is we are going through, we humble ourselves, its like he reaches right on down and pulls us up! He is so Faithful and Loving, All He wants is what Hes always asking for! And He shouldn’t have to ask it should be a given, Prayer, Praise, Worship, Commitment, Love, Respect, Reverence, He is a great and Mighty God and He keeps on doing great thing for us! We have been redeemed, we have been set free, He has given us a chance at a new life, no more addiction, no more baggage, NO MORE ANYTHING! Its hard to commit when you’ve never committed to any thing, but God can give us the ability to do this! To commit to Outreach, Prayer, Ministry, Blogging, Reading, Fasting. I always look at certain people in our church as an example of what commitment is because of the way that they say that their flesh isn’t always willing, but yet you see them always there always committed! Thats God and I strive for that! Thank you Jesus!
    1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

    2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

  12. Psalms 107:8, 15, 21, & 31
    “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men.”

    “Oh that men would PRAISE the LORD”
    PRAISE, Confess, Give Thanks, Celebrate, Shout, be Joyful, Glorify the LORD for HIS GOODNESS and for HIS WONDERFUL WORKS.

    Thank You JESUS for Your Goodness and for the Wonderful Works that You do.

    GO PRAISE!

  13. 29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

    How much is this a prophecy of what Jesus did on the sea of Galilee? Or did God move in David’s life or of someone close to him? Either way it is an awesome example of God’s power that he can speak the seas to be still and it be so. Because nothing in man’s power can cease the raging of the wind and waves in an instant. God is great and greatly to be praised!

  14. Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
    Psalms 107:2 NLT
    Let’s go tell everyone about the word of God tell the about all the great things God done for us there hungry people out their look for a person looking for a church that they can find and seek God

  15. Josiah: 1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
    6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
    God’s mercy endureth forever and we can thank Him because of it. When “they cried unto the Lord in their trouble” , talking about the redeemed, God delivered them. His “mercy endureth for ever”. God is not just merciful to people the first time people are in the church and then unmerciful when they backslide and come back, for “His mercy endureth forever” Later in the psalm it talks about how he brought sinners who “rebelled against the word of God” out of darkness when they cried unto Him in verses 11-14. I pray that we take this example and no matter how many times people may wrong us whether in the church or in the world that we are forgiving even up to 70 times 7 times, and let our mercy be as long as we live and turn the other cheek because God died for them too. So, let us GO be a Christian example and let our light shine! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  16. iLove to Go Blog
    Psalms 107:2 KJV  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

    I was just praying this morning before I read this chapter, giving God thanks for delivering me from the hand of the enemy. Wow, the word “redeemed” basically means “to purchase” or to “buy back” in the Hebrew.

    We were slaves to sin. We were sold into bondage by Adam but, the Lord Jesus purchased us back with his blood. We belong to Jesus! Praise the Lord, let us show our loyalty to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  17. 15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    Sometimes we take for granted the goodness of the Lord and the wonderful works that He does for us. We fail to recognize that they are from God. For instance, it is the very breath that we breathe each day that is a wondrous work from God. He didn’t have to allow us to wake up today. Being blessed with a roof over our head, a job, a family, a church to worship Him in, a church family, health, etc is all wondrous works of the Lord. Not having health issues, is a WONDROUS work of the Lord.

    Our entire outlook on life would change if we would slow down just a bit and recognize all day long the wondrous works of our mighty God.

    Oh What a Mighty God, what an Awesome God You Are!!!

  18. GO PRAISE

    21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    Understanding the word Praise and the reference application births a deeper revelation and stronger appreciation of our LORD JESUS and HIS Goodness.

    In this psalm, the word PRAISE is

    3034. h∂dÎy yadah, yaw-daw´; a primitive root; literally, to use (i.e. hold out) the hand; physically, to throw (a stone, an arrow) at or away; especially to revere or worship (with extended hands); intensively, to bemoan (by wringing the hands):—cast (out), (make) confess(-ion), praise, shoot, (give) thank(-ful, -s, -sgiving).

    Oh that men would PRAISE the LORD or

    Oh that men would openly vocally and physically declare the LORD JESUS is GOD. This demonstration of PRAISE is the type of PRAISE that changes the atmosphere of the room, that silences the voice of the adversary, that strengthens the FAITH of the believer.

    We PRAISE JESUS for HIS Goodness, because of HIS Holy nature. As we purpose in our hearts to today to PRAISE the LORD, we will declare HIS Goodness, everywhere we GO and in all situations.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  19. 19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

    20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

    God is so powerful and omniscient that by simply sending his word he heals us by the power of his spirit. In the NT there are various examples of Jesus just speaking the word and meeting needs and healing bodies. His word is powerful enough to travel over space and time and meet the needs of his people.

  20. 23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

    24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

    These are the ones that stick with God through the good the bad and the ugly situations. The ones that truly see blessings in the end. That’s why it’s important to praise God for any situation we’re put through. Keep this in mind the next time slipping crosses your mind or someone else’s mind that’s around you. Speak to them encourage them. Go through everything good that’s gonna happen in the end.

  21. 41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

    42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

    This is where I want to be in the LORD. I want our family to be apart of the flock; for each of us to be strong in the LORD. To understand HIS word and be where HE has called us to. I pray for my family to become part of the flock of JESUS. For each of us to become mighty warriors in CHRIST. To live up to that which GOD has called us to. It is a struggle to rejoice and not fall into the traps of the world; GOD knows me and HE knows what needs to happen to bring me fully into HIS light. I thank you JESUS for building me up and being the light in those dark times.

    1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

    2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

  22. 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

    I will praise the Lord with my whole heart for He is the only one who can sustain my soul and fill me with His goodness!

  23. 28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
    29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
    30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
    31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    In trouble know that just over the horizon there is peace. Behind the dark clouds, there is sun. In the Rain Storm there is a Rainbow. In time of death there is life. Young people in your times of distress and uncertainty, there is a God who has peace that passes all understanding. The God of Abraham, Issac, and Israel. He is The God that we serve. If we will give all of our cares to him and let him shield us. WE/YOU will make it. Yes the storms will come, yes understanding is not always going to be so easy to find, you may even want to quit and just hid. Let me say this , that you should hide in the arms of the Almighty God. You need to put your trust in Him. Although the storm is raging, the winds are blowing, the seas are rough, and the rain is falling. BE Still, and KNOW that HE IS GOD.

    #GOdosomething for God.

  24. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
    The psalmist calls the redeemed to praise God. In a series of vivid images he contrasts the lost state with the release that redemption brings exercising His power over nature God will remark our barren earth and revitalize our barren lives
    In this chapter the psalmist points out after what God has done for them theyPRAISED the Lord.
    I love to worship the Lord that goes hand and hand on what a great message that our GREAT PASTOR brought out on worship and praising the Lord.
    I am in a season of blesson only that the Lord could do some materalistic but mostly Spiratual.The Lord has taught me over and over through prayer and Pastor teaching and preaching and counslin
    I HAVE A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR AND WORSHIPING AND PRASING

  25. 11They rebelled against the words of God, scorning the counsel of the Most High.

    As teenagers most of us rebelled against authority, at the same rebellion against the Lord without realizing it. As a adults we continue to rebel against God. As we learn more about God and submit ourselves to God and serve him, our rebellious nature will slowly go away.

  26. Psalm107:11 (ENGLISH AMP) BECAUSE they had rebelled against the words of God and spurred the counsel of the Most High. Most children are rebellious against there parents today.This the same way if we as parents are rebelling against God.We should submit and obey God.We should help these children love them like there our own.

  27. 1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

    2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

    3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

  28. A chapter of redemption!
    Sin, sin, sin…….
    Revelion ( witchcraft)…. every time they were in trouble( predictamen..)
    They cry unto the Lord , they were forgiven and they PRAISE, ohh yes they praise, they have been FORGIVEN…
    As for me:( my desire is and my determination is to PRAISE my Abba father at ALL. TIMES, NO MATTER WHAT!
    Wether I am in The Valley, or mountain, in lacking or plentiful,.
    I WILL BLESS THE LORD, at all times, and his praise SHALL CONTINUALLY BE I. MY MOUTH!!!!!
    God’s love shown back then and NOW, HE DOES NOT CHANGE. Ohhh God how you love us!!!

  29. 8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
    9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. God never ceases to amaze me. In the driest moments of my life He has given me what was needed to sustain me. He brought me out and I know what “wells of living water” really means. Thank you Jesus for you love and faithfulness.

  30. We serve a mighty God who is able to do all things. No matter what we are going through there is nothing to hard for God. Our strength is in the Lord.

  31. 10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

    11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

    12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help

    Sometimes God has people in a position that no one seems to be helping them. We never know his purpose but we should always pray and seek Godly council before we help them. They might be just one step away from their victory over a situation and if we help them they have to start over again. All things work together for good. This means God will use bad situations to get us where he wants us at times.

  32. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    God does so much for us each and every day! All we have to do is look around us and see evidence of God’s handiwork, evidence that He has worked before we ever came. Truly we not only see this in nature around us, but we can see His hand in our lives as well. The times that He kept us safe from harm, directed our paths to intersect with anothers’,  or even just provided a way in a situation. Truly God cares for His children more then I can possibly understand! There are so many aspects of God’s goodness and works to praise God for! I need to be sure that in all that happens in life I should praise God for it! Even for the tough times, because I know that through those tough times, my walk with God will prosper when I look to Him! Praise the Lord for His mighty acts, for His tender mercies, for the love that He shows us each and every day!

  33. The psalmist is speaking of us when he declares, ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.’ We are the ones who should ‘give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.’ If his mercies are still new every morning, if we’re still thankful for all that he has done, we should be amongst those who continue to give praise unto his name, for his mercy endureth forever!

    Although he’s speaking in general, that 20th verse just brings to mind the first chapter of John. ‘He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.’ How much truer are those words to us today now that the word has already become flesh and dwelt among us! We’ve heard the testimonies of those who beheld his glory and saw him take the stripes that we might be healed. ‘Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.’ As we sometimes sing, ain’t no rock gonna take my place!

  34. 31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    Our God is a just and righteous God that will always take care of his children. He makes desolate places bountiful, provides a rest and peace in the midst of chaos and will never forsake us. He loves us so much that he will not force us to serve him.He is always right there waiting for us and will let us choose to be securely sheltered by him or left to the insecurities and uncertainties of this world.As said multiple times in this psalm how that men would praise Jesus for his wonderous works and goodness to man. He deserves all of the praise,glory and honor because he never had to do anything at all for us. He alone is worthy forevermore!!

    43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

  35. “Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭107:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    We were created to Praise Him! GO share the great news with all those around you!

    “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

  36. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    Send Up Judah!!!! Praise Him for His goodness and everything He has done. No matter the trial, praise us what will let the devil know that we are still strong. We believe who the true king is and trust in Him completely. We can’t let the enemy intimidate us.

    For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound. 2 Tim 1:7

  37. 21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

    Thank you Jesus for you are good to me and has done great things in my favor. Thank you Lord for life and mercy and grace. Praise be to God for he is my help and my strong tower. He comforts me in time of pain and strengthens me when I need it. His words are pure and uplifting. His works are amazing. I praise you Jesus!!

  38. Psalm 107:3 those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.

    The Lord of the harvest

    We have been faithfully laboring to reach the lost in the last days. Those before us planted seeds, we are watering the ground, God will will gather the people from all four corners of this region.

    Are we ready for the coming harvest? Yes Lord, bring them to Los Pentecostales de Fort Worth.

  39. 2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

    Each blood bought born again believer owes God thanks an praise due his name. We are delivered by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

  40. 15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

    God is always good to us. He deserves all of praise! Let’s give him our highest, best praise!

  41. Time after time the chapter tells us of the hope people have in Jesus. Throughout the chapter it says how wonderful God is. It describes the things they went through and the way God saw them through. God is so wonderful that in the bad times he guides and and feeds us on the way to where we are going.
