Psalm 114

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

  1. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    The question I gave is “what is your sanctuary?” Some have made fear, complacency, and rebellion their sanctuary. Others have made wealth, confusion, and contention their sanctuary but God is seeking a people that will worship Him in spirit and truth this will position us to walk in a place of dominion.

  2. The question in verse 6 means to me is we are like lambs skipping ahead to are future and not worrying about the time we have now just like are theme at the camp meeting a day and a time we need to understand God has given us time and we must be thankful are future is to come but just worry about now.
    Go in Jesus name Amen

  3. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    Say Israel five times fast, now say he’s real five times fast.

    When we feel God’s presence and the Holy Ghost falls upon each of us, it’s like God stepping in between you and the world. You can feel that utterance or a tremble, you immediately start feeling something. The most powerful thing in the whole universe, galaxy…etc. is literally running through your body.

    Gods on a move, GO be used by God today.
    God bless

  4. 5. What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

    6. Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

    7. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    Nothing else could make the seas flee, the rivers turn back, and the mountains and Hills to skip than the presence of the Almighty God that created them!

  5. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    The Earth itself give reverence to our maker, yet there are millions of people who don’t fear his name or even recognize it. We need to as a body to teach and say the banner of Jesus with the reverence the Earth has.

  6. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    Judah is our Praise as we have heard many times. Judah is what is going to get us out of worry and trial. Judah is going to give us victory!!! Praise! Praise! Praise!!! Send Up Judy!! Let it be part of us! I must praise my way out of everything!!! Joy, sorrow, grief, pain, trials, tribulations, everything!!! God is Good!!!

  7. When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land— the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom. Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob. He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.
    Psalms 114:1‭-‬2‭, ‬7‭-‬8 NLT

    This what type of God we serve a great and mighty God who ture to his word and faithful what might God he never change he is the same he is Alpha and Omega who is is was to come

  8. Josiah: 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
    “Tremble, thou earth, at the presences of the Lord…” The power of God is amazing. God makes a way for His people and if God is for us who can stand against us? When pharaohs chariots tried stopping Israel from leaving Egypt God made a way. He divided the waters for Israel and let them pass and then closed the waters upon pharaohs chariots. God’s power is greater than anything that may oppose us in life and all we have to do is call on the name of the Lord. Even the very devils who oppose us believe also and TREMBLE. God’s power is infinite. He can do anything and we have Him on our side. So, let us GO BOLDLY in JESUS NAME doing the will of the Lord! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  9. Psalms 114:5-6 (MSG)
    5) What’s wrong with you, Sea, that you ran away? and you, River Jordan, that you turned and ran off?
    6) And mountains, why did you skip like rams? and you, little hills, frolic like the spring lambs?

    The answer – they were in the LORD’s Presence.
    Vs.7 (MSG) – Tremble, Earth! You’re in the Lord’s presence! in the presence of Jacob’s God.

    Not only does the earth Tremble at the Presence of God, but the devils Tremble also (James 2:19). Therefore we ought to Tremble also in the Presence of God. “THE LORD reigneth: let the people Tremble: he sitteth between the cheribums; let the earth be moved.” (Psalms 99:1)

  10. Psalm 114The Message (MSG)

    114 1-8 After Israel left Egypt,
    the clan of Jacob left those barbarians behind;
    Judah became holy land for him,
    Israel the place of holy rule.
    Sea took one look and ran the other way;
    River Jordan turned around and ran off.
    The mountains turned playful and skipped like rams,
    the hills frolicked like spring lambs.
    What’s wrong with you, Sea, that you ran away?
    and you, River Jordan, that you turned and ran off?
    And mountains, why did you skip like rams?
    and you, hills, frolic like spring lambs?
    Tremble, Earth! You’re in the Lord’s presence!
    in the presence of Jacob’s God.
    He turned the rock into a pool of cool water,
    turned flint into fresh spring water.

    In The Lord’s Presrnce. Our God who is Almighty. If He turned rocks into water what mighty acts He will do for us. His promises are sure.
    I am sure He will fulfill what He has promisef.
    His Strength is Perfect

  11. 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
    3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back

    A sanctuary is a sacred place that you can go to to feel safe and have intimacy with your Creator. Dominion is your parameter of authority. So we, as the children of God, are led to walk in the Spirit by the Spirit we are given a sacred place to hide in, but also be restored, strengthened and renewed when we allow the PRAISE OF GOD erupt from our lips. It’s is also a tactical place in which we can give HIM access to operate fully in our circumstances.

    Hebrew: יִשְׂרָאֵל, Standard Yisraʾel Tiberian Yiśrāʾēl; “Triumphant with God”, “who prevails with God”

    Israel is our Dominion meaning that we walk in the authority of being Triumphant with God. We walk in absolute VICTORY! In those verses I didn’t see any “maybe” “sort of” or “sometimes” in there. That’s an absolute! This is God’s Word and it does not return void! We walk in an absolute VICTORY because we are Triumphant with God. He has given us the victory! When we open our mouths we are in a place of shelter but also a place of war! Stand up, children of God! With praise on your lips and triumph in your steps! You are victorious!

    • And seeing this victorious stance that God had given the Israelites, even the waters of the earth stood back! When we walk in this same God given stance what effect can we have on the prince of this region? God has given this land to us! Time to GO TRIUMPHANTLY and take this city! In Jesus name!!!!!

  12. 2 the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom. (NLT)

    He inhabits the praises of His people, what kind of sanctuary are you building? Better yet, who’s dwelling in the words and songs that you hear and speak/sing?

    “Not just a temple our hands have made, we’re building you a house of praise. Built for Your glory, for Your excellent name. We’re building you a house of praise; come and dwell in this house of praise.”

  13. GO IN FAITH

    1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
    3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
    4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

    The psalmist in describing the exodus of Israel from Egypt offers this incredible vision of creation moving and bowing to its creator. The MSG version offers a description that leads the mind to relive and reimagine the events of that day.

    MSG
    Judah became holy land for him,
    Israel the place of holy rule.
    Sea took one look and ran the other way;
    River Jordan turned around and ran off.

    JESUS took control of the world and all of its systems to deliver HIS people from the bondage of Egypt. This gives me HOPE that JESUS will do the same for me today.

    GO IN FAITH

    iRepent

  14. 5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?

    6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?

    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
    God is So Excellent, God was in the house last night, and I saw and felt much trembling because who can stand in the presence of a mighty God that even the mountains and hills dance before him! Pastor once said that skipping is a form of praise, then he skipped around the sanctuary! Verse 15 said that the mountains skipped like rams! The little hills skipped like lambs, God is so amazing,

    I GIVE YOU GLORY, GLORY JESUS!

  15. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
    The psalmist sees in the miracles of the Exodus Gods mastery of all nature
    vs7-Tremblr o earth at the presence of the Lord the God of Jacob. For he caused gushing streams to burst from flinty rock
    Thank you Jesus for campmetting last night it was great I am iooking forward for what God has for us tonight

  16. iLove to Blog
    Psalms 114:2 KJV Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    Boom!
    There it is…Judah was his sanctuary. If we at The Pentecostals of Fort Worth truly want a sanctuary built unto the Lord, we must let Judah build it. Judah is praise, the Lord’s Sanctuary is built with praise. If we just stand there like a bump on a dill pickle during worship, then the sanctuary is in shambles. We must send up Judah and build the Most High a true sanctuary.

  17. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    The earth and all the people in it should tremble at the miraculous power of God! He is great and greatly to be praised and in his presence is fullness of joy and in his right hand are pleasures forevermore!

  18. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

  19. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

    What pushed the waters back so Israel could cross the red sea? I believe the answer is in verse 3 – Praise was in the sanctuary, praise was being displayed in the hearts and minds of the people, giving God for dominion over the people of Israel. The people believed God was going to make a way of escape, they praised the Lord in advance for that way of escape and God parted the waters in answer to their prayers. What is our need? Praise defeats our enemy and will open the door for the miraculous, however it’s up to us to do it. We must be the praiser!!!

  20. 3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
    4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
    5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
    6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
    7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    When all of creation is subject to the awe-some power of the Creator. Who are we, to think that we are something? Without the breath of God we would be piles of dust. When we take a look at what God has done, from forming the heavens, to creating each grain of sand, to the highest peak and the lowest valley. This is the God that gave us free will to worship Him.
    Young People- it is our honor and privilege to worship and praise the Living God. The God of our fore fathers, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Israel. We have a choice everyday to either serve or not to serve God. This is the greatest choice of everyday that we must make. More so than school, friends, and family. If the Earth is subject to Him, and we live on His earth. Then it would seem wise to serve Him as well.

    #GODOSOMETHING for God.

  21. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    Let my life become a sanctuary of Your glory, let my life show forth Your love and mercy. Take my life and let it be all for You and for Your glory! I pray that everyday everything I do will be building my life into a holy sanctuary!

  22. Hannah: When God decides to move he will move and nothing will stop him. He opened the Red Sea for the children of Israel to cross and he can move mountains out of the way. My God can do anything and it is reassuring to know that nothing is too big for God. No situation or obstacle will stop my God because he can move them out of the way instantly. Many times the Lord will test our faith to see how much faith we have in him to take care of the situation. Always trust in the Lord and never stop praying and being faithful. When you stumple he will always be there for you so get back up again and continue to walk in his steps. Never stop trusting the Lord and always continue to do his will in your life.

  23. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    Prove time after time that he is God.

  24. I am reminded of when Naaman came to Elisha. He brought silver, gold, and expensive presents, in huge amounts, to buy his healing. Elisha refused his money and his gifts. Naaman was upset and humbled because he was powerless to buy his healing. He was also humbled by the availability of the healing power of water, which is free there for everyone. Naaman begged for two loads of dirt from the riverbank, to have something to take home. Sometimes, we take it for granted that God’s love is free and for or us all, even in the land where God is not always respected and compared to false gods.

  25. 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

    I love how the scripture says “When Israel went out of”. During times in our lives, it’s easy to get caught up and discouraged that we will never get out of a certain mess. Yet, if we believe that Our God can truly do anything, then We believe WHEN we reach the other side, we will give all the praise deserved!

  26. How like Israel is the church today… separated by the strange language of those in the world. We don’t live the same, we don’t act the same, we don’t even talk the same. It may seem like just another difference in tradition until God begins to move! When nature itself makes way for God’s people, the power of the difference becomes clear. When God moves in a mighty way among us, even those in the world are likely to take notice. We can’t afford to wait for those moments before we make up our mind to serve him with all our heart… those moves of God are made amongst those who have a made up mind and have dedicated their lives unto him!

    The psalmist humorously asks the water what troubled it so that it would feel the need to part that the children of the promise could walk through on dry land. It is in those moments when God delivered beyond anything we imagined that we can truly appreciate his words: ‘Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.’ When the world looks on and sees a people in a dry and thirsty land where no water is and the God we serve provides us with living water! He makes a way where there is no way!

  27. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters. We serve a God that formed and controls with his word the very forces of nature that cannot be brought under subjection by man. How can we worry about whether or not He will provide and answer our needs..
    He loves us more than the Earth he created because he did not die for the Earth nor the things of it. He has everything under control, we just need to have the faith to both believe and obey his direction. He always works everything out for our good and His Glory!!!

  28. When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion.
    Psalms 114:1‭-‬2 NKJV

    When we get out of trials and the things that have bound us we must always give praise and make that the the foundation of our live. If we always have praise God is there because He inhabits in the midst of our praise.

  29. 7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.

    Even the earth trembles at God. The presence of God, we all should tremble knowing he is the creator our Father. One day, everyone will tremble when we all are before the presence of God.

  30. Psalm 114:7-8 ( English Amp) Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord , at the presence of God of Jacob, (8) Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.Last night at Ntx Camp Meeting I felt a great trembling of Holy Ghost flow over everyone there. Wow Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smoke the rod twice.And water came out so that the congregation drank, and even their lifestock. Wow!

  31. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    Literally God can do anything. When it seems like nothing can be done, God can take those things that are making the situation impossible and literally change them to make the situation possible. There is nothing to be afraid of when we have God guiding us in our lives! He is always there to turn too! All praise and glory to God! For He is a mighty God! There is none greater! HALLELUJAH!!

  32. The mountains leaped like rams, The [little] hills, like lambs. What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back? O mountains, that you leap like rams, O [little] hills, like lambs? Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob (Israel),
    PSALM 114:4‭-‬7 AMP

    When you Go [anywhere] with Jesus allowing Him to lead the What, there is nothing that can stand in your way. Surely you will make it to what God called destiny he has for you. Allow him to remove the hills and part the waters that you may go in a path of righteousness.

  33. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    Tremble o Earth for great is the power of God, and greatly is he to be praised he that has all authority. Tremble for great things are about to happen tomorrow in Jesus name!! He is moving mountians to spread his name. May I move with him.

  34. Verse 7 NLT “Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.” Philippians 2:12 CEV says “My dear friends, you always obeyed when I was with you. Now that I am away, you should obey even more. So work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved.”

  35. 2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion

    Enveloping yourself in praise and honor to The King of Kings is a sure way to developed leadership. When praising God becomes a way of life, you begin to gain authority. Your authority will be delegated unto you according to your love and praise for Jesus. The message tonight was it is not enough to just have the truth but with the power and the truth we are unstoppable.

  36. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    The earth and all his creation worship our creator & he will move mountains for his people. In the presence of the Lord we find everything we need. We are complete in him.

  37. 2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion

    God I pray that my life will be a sanctuary for you! Let my life be filled with praise to you everyday at all hours! Let me build up your praise for a sanctuary so I may show yourself in me. When people see me I pray they see you in me God! Thank you God I praise your name with all that I am!

  38. 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

    A people of strange language: I can only imagine what it was like to hear people speaking out in public; where few could understand what they were saying. Judah was and still is a sanctuary; I’m reminded of the song “Send up Judah”. Our praises should always be like the praises of those that the Isrealites from the land of Judah. I should never have to feel that my praises go up in vein. God’s word does not come back void; I give the glory to God and will always give Him the highest praise. Thank you Jesus;

    phil. 4:13 I can do all things through him who gives me strength.

  39. 7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

    8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

    The presence of God is so powerful that nothing can contain him. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and can not be tangible but dwell within us. His glory is so overwhelming that water rushes out of rocks

  40. Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.(Psalms 114:7‭-‬8 KJV)

    When we are in the presence of the lord and when we shout and praise and worship his holy name the earth trembles. My Gods wonders are powerful.

  41. 1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
    2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

    Even today, Judah, praise, is where his presence resides, and we actually acknowledge that Jesus is in control when we turn from the things off this world, and over His word, being there Church.
