Psalm 116

I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

19 In the courts of the Lord‘s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

I am a decider, I have my mind made up! I am a servant, daughter of the most high, I have decided to JUST DO IT, I will bring my tithes, my offerings, and my praise IN the house of the Lord, I decided, I wont be fearful, Who cares what I did, God has Forgiven me, I have decided to Forgive My self! I have decided to LET IT GO! I dont know what has changed but something did, and I LOVE IT!

  2. GO PAY YOUR VOW

14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

During seasons of prayer we are often compelled to make commitments and vows to the LORD of our lives in prayer, fasting and serving. As well often during devotions and church services we are compelled to make vows to the LORD of offerings of time talent and treasure. JESUS takes these vows serious and we should also.

The psalmist made a strong declaration of prayer when he said “I WILL” pay my vow.

Today is a good day to search our hearts to discern and determine if we have any unfulfilled vows to JESUS.

Pledges of finances and service are awaiting us today.

    Let’s GO!

  3. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow

I love this psalm! He starts off with very simple words, I love the Lord comma then proceeds to talk about how good God is and then make a declaration about how he is going to follow through and pay his vows unto God. He says that God preserved the simple and talks about being brought low comma that is the sure mercy of God when God will bring us down just to build us up and help us to complete our vows. I love the Lord

Psalms 116:17 KJV  I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Wow, let’s think about this statement and meditate on it. “The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving…” I think we’ve all been tempted to complain. I think everyday holds the opportunity to get upset…and that’s why the “sacrifice of thanksgiving” is truly a sacrifice. When everything in the world is against you and you’re still thankful, that to God is the ultimate sacrifice.

  5. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
It is truly a blessing to serve the Lord and his house, when I was about 10 years old my neighbor that was like a grandma to me said, “jack, if you wanna live a long life…you gotta work hard.” So I always took those words and I pressed them into my heart, but when I began my walk with God it was also stamped into my spirit. I thanking God today for this “want to” or “can do” attitude towards working today

  6. Then called I upon the name of the Lord, O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous, yea, our God is merciful. I thank the Lord for his mercy and grace in my life .

  7. Josiah: 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
God hears when His people call upon Him for “he hath inclined his ear unto me” and “he hath heard my voice and my supplications.” God is not just sometimes available, or has a wait for us to call upon His name, but He is always there. In the middle of the night or in the middle of nowhere we can call upon the Lord and He hears us. Who is like the Lord? When we call upon Him miracles, and signs and wonders can happen. When we call upon Him people can be healed and hearts can be mended. When we call upon Him sins can be forgiven. So let us GO in His name! In Jesus name! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  8. No place I rather be but here in God love in his presence healing take place in his presence strongholds of breaking off in his presence is the only place that you will feel real love that no one on Earth can give you so I love to pray that when I pray i know he listening and making a way

  9. 12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

What can we give to God for his goodness to us? What can we render unto him? We cannot begin to repay God for the great things he has done but we can give of our time, talent and treasure to his kingdom!

  10. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

What a beautiful heartfelt psalm. What else can we give our great God but our love, thanksgiving and praise. I am blessed to say that I am his child.

  11. 4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

Thank God for His mercies made new every day. We are not perfect, we’re merely humans and this chapter even says all men are liars; as hard as we try we are imperfect. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for perfection, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to live the Holy life He has called us to; to be Holy because He is, to reflect His perfection so that others see our efforts, so that others see Him in us. God deliver my soul and save me everyday because I need it! Let others see You in me! Let them see the demonstration of Your power through me!

  12. Psalm 116:16( English Amp) O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I son of your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds.(17) I will offer to You the sacrifice of Thankgiving and will call on the name of the Lord. This is beautiful psalm what more could we ask for to have a great God that loves us. Used me did Lord for your kingdom. I love you Jesus. I’m Blessed as your child.

  13. Paul was a well studied teacher of the law and yet reminds us that we are saved by the simplicity that is in Christ. When things in life don’t appear to make sense and confusion begins to set in, we need to remember the basics! The psalmist recognizes this as well: ‘The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.’ When we’re feeling down and low, we don’t need to look for a complexity of reasons for our situation, just let our soul cry out to him! Let us return to that rest we have in the holy ghost and allow his spirit to bring bring peace and renewal to our soul! Remember the simplicity which is in Christ and the gift of the strength of his spirit we have within!

So ‘What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.’ It really is that simple! Eat of his bread and drink of his cup and allow his salvation to have full reign in our lives! More than just something we say, it’s what we do: ‘I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.’ Serving the Lord requires public declaration and action on our part. We are not ‘secret’ Christians, our consecration and dedication is seen amongst his people and serves as an example to follow us as we also follow Christ! It is then that we can say, ‘O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.’ Let us exalt his name together in spirit and in truth!

  14. 8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

He never says everyday was rainbows and sunshine. Instead, that even in storms and trials God has preserved him because he put his trust in him. A simple man doesn’t prevents from getting distracted with things of the world but makes God his source. It’s simple God is everything we need. Having that revelation keeps us safe from death, falling and tragedy with tears. Make God first and his kigdom and everything will be added unto us.

  15. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

  16. Psalms 116:5
“Gracious is the LORD, and righteous: yea, our God is merciful.”

Our GOD is GRACIOUS, RIGHTEOUS, and MERCIFUL!

    Thank You JESUS.

  17. I Love To Worship. The. Lord
Vs 3. The sorrows of.death compassed me
I recently lost my mother thank you Jesus he has comforted me theres nothing.in this.world that could do thar
    Praise God

  18. 4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

God is so good I just cant tell it all! Great is thou faithfulness!

  19. 1. I love the Eternal; for not only does He hear my voice, my pleas for mercy,

    2. But He leaned down when I was in trouble and brought His ear close to me. So as long as I have breath, I will call on Him. Voice

When we don’t have the strength to cry aloud to Him, He knows and bring His ear close to us, just waiting for us to have the faith to whisper His Name and release Him to work in our situation. He is Faithful!

  20. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

He listens. There are many times when I know for sure that God has heard my cry and my prayers and it just builds up more faith in me to continue to pray for I know that He cares and attends to my supplication. There are been instances that some one ministering to me would say a word that falls right with what I just told God. Just another of many reasons why I praise him. He is a God that answers.

  21. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of theLord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
19 In the courts of the Lord‘s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye theLord.

  22. Yes Jesus Loves Me

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

    The Bible Tells Me So

Lord let us see with your eyes what You want us to see.
When we have questions You are right there before us ever reaching. You are faithful. Thank you for your love and mercy and kindness. Thank you for the people of God and the strength and unity of a church.
Oh to to know the glory of the end as your saints that have come home to You. Thank you for all You are doing.

    His Strength is Perfect

  23. Gracious Lord

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful

How many times have I neede the grace of God? He has been so merciful and gracious to me and my family. Thank God for his goodness. It makes me think of how I am called a Christian or Christ like. This means I have to be gracious and merciful as well. Unforgiveness and vengeance are the path to hell, but mercy and grace show true love and God accepts that kind of love. If God is all these wonderful things to us, we were made in his image so we should show the same qualities to the world. Be Jesus to someone this week, be gracious be merciful, be righteous, be Jesus!

  24. 8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

  25. “And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Heaven on earth! What a privilege we have to be able to seat in heavenly places while on earth. God is so amazing! He has even us an earnest of our inheritance. So thankful for His Holy Spirit.

“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  26. “I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God truly knows what we are talking about every time we talk. He also understands fully what we mean. Many times people just think hey are sharing something with another person only to find out hey were distracted, ignoring or just wasn’t responding. These things never happen with God. He always answeres. I love Jesus because he knows my name and thoughts.

  27. Verses 7-8 MSG “I said to myself, “Relax and rest. God has showered you with blessings. Soul, you’ve been rescued from death; Eye, you’ve been rescued from tears; And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.” Every blog begins with “JESUS today YOU will SAVE me” and we must remember Psalm 37:23-24 NLT “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

  28. 7-8 I said to myself, “Relax and rest. God has showered you with blessings. Soul, you’ve been rescued from death; Eye, you’ve been rescued from tears; And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.”

Thank you Lord for rescuing me! God you took the pain and you took my chains away and you cleared a path for me to take that I would keep from falling! God I surrender myself to you for you to use me and I praise your name with thanksgiving! Thank you God for all you have done and I will serve you everyday with all that I am!

  29. 17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

This verse reminds me of camp meeting when it was said love and sacrifice are joined. So with our sacrifices we show our love to the Lord. One way David shows this is with the sacrifice of thanksgiving. And we enter into his courts with thanksgiving and call open his name he will incline his ear and hear. So will I continue to pray to he listens and responds.

  30. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.(Psalms 116:8 KJV)

We always have to be recharged and fuel up and ready no matter what time of the hour it is because we children of God are his instruments we have to keep our eyes on him and he will keep us from torment and tears and keep our souls from death alnd our feet from falling into sin. This is because we are important parts of the body of Christ, his church he can use us at any time.

  31. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

This reminds me of a time where I called upon other gods for deliverance; my soul belonged to the world. For years I would walk by churches and think what if I just walked in and started praising God; but it was never the right time or the right church. Yes Mission of Hope set me on the right path, but here I feel at home and I know that God is with me. He hath delivered my soul from the pit. Thank you Jesus for delivering me.

Phil. 3:14 I can do all things through him who gives me strength.

  32. 12. What can I give back to God for the blessings he’s poured out on me?

How can I say thank you to God? Such insignificant words for all the He does for me. While I am not the most imaginative person I know, I can build a scenario in my mind of where I might be without the guidance and protection of Jesus. Then in complete contrast I look at all that I have, those around me who care and love me and thank you does not even ripple the emotion overload.

I can do a few things. I can save my praise. I will not hoot and holler for my favorite sports team. This does not mean I cannot enjoy the game but I will keep a constant reminder of who gets my praise. Psalm 63:3–4, “Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name”
