Psalm 127

Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

  1. Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.
    Psalms 127:1‭-‬2 NLT
Without God we are unless if God not not in my sentence then it’s unless
If God is not building and I try to build with him then the the building will fall because it doesn’t have the Foundation of God
If God not in it then it’s unless
Everything we do we must do it in Jesus name
Have bless day go in Jesus name

  2. Verse 3 CEV says “Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord.” As we fast for VBS today, let us remember this verse. Each one of these precious children represent a household that needs to know of the love of Jesus. Let us (POFW) not only tell them about this love; but, show them through caring prayer and guidance. I have a shirt that says “My most precious blessings (gifts) call me Mom”. I thank you Lord for your protection over my girls and all of my little Sovereign Soldiers.

  3. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them. I pray for all the children of the world, that they should have food to eat , clothes to wear , loving caring parents to take responsibility for their own. I pray that they grow up in a house that God built. I pray for grandparents that are raising their grand children, for without them they would have no direction.

  4. 3. Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from Him. NLT

How anyone could neglect or abuse their very own fragile, innocent babies is beyond my comprehension, yet we read about it all too often. Since it breaks our hearts to hear about it as a stranger to them, just imagine how God feels! Lord, protect those who can’t protect themselves!

  5. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep

If Christ is not the center of why we are doing all that we are, unless it is within our sincerest desire to serve and reach people for Jesus or if we have any other motives, then all that we do is pointless. There is no reason for us to be doing all the expanding we do UNLESS it is for the kingdom sake. The Lord be our rock and source of strength

  6. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

This is by far one of my favorite scriptures. It tells of the heritage that God gives us in our own children and the power and promise He puts on their lives. Thank you, Jesus for giving me a quiver full of arrows, not just in my classroom but at home as well! Help my husband and I shape and sharpen these arrows the way You see fit so they may sail true to their target when they are loosed. They shall speak with the enemy in the gate…what shall they say? Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings comes power to silence the enemy!!! Hallelujah!

2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. Psalms 8:2

  7. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
Jesus you’re the center, it’s all about you! Let’s take a moment and remind ourselves what we’re called to do. We shouldn’t go through a day questioning if it was in vain. Reflect back on it at the end of the day and find that positive inspiring word of Hod you shared with someone. You shall be blessed!

  8. An important reminder from the psalmist: ‘Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it.’ Regardless of what we’re doing for the kingdom, God’s hand needs to be in it before it will truly prosper. Whatsoever we do in word or deed is supposed to be done in his name. That doesn’t just speak to whom is supposed to receive the glory afterwards. We need to seek his favor and direction before we even begin. If things appear to go wrong after initial success, it’s not time to complain or cast the blame, it’s time to wait upon him again. If we truly believe he is the builder, allow him to set the plan for the house from its very foundation to the peak of its steeple!

That is the example our children need to see in our life! If we truly believe ‘Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord,’ we need to raise them with the expectation of their reward! We need to raise them with the confidence in him! When things are going well and when things aren’t going according to our expectations, they need to see that God is in control! It is then that we can declare, ‘Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.’ They need to have example of confidence and trust to face the enemy themselves! Our children should be able to stand in our example and begin there, to go even further with God! O let me have the wisdom to launch them with confidence in the path and direction that God will choose for their life!

  9. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

  10. 2 It’s useless for you to work so hard from early morning to late at night.

Some individuals work long hours and fail to recognize its harming their relationship with family. Putting in 10-15 hours a day may be necessary at times, but on a consistent basis is not good. The Lord did say, man shall work for a living but not to work to put a strain on family relationships. Especially us men, let’s give attention to our loved ones and to God!

  11. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15). A house built on any other foundation will fall (Matt 7:24-27) when the rains come they cannot stand up to the foundation on the rock. Our rock is Jesus our chief cornerstone and strong tower. When we build upon him in his will our home will stand the test of time and trial.

  12. My God Jesus Christ is my rock and my foundation! His foundation is what I put my trust in. For Jesus is Perfect in all his ways, so why not want a foundation to your life that I PERFECT! You will go through trials, but you are going to see your way though in Jesus name! Thank you Jesus!

  13. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

The Lord truly is the builder of the church and the cheif cornerstone of the church. Through Jesus we “live move and have our being”

  14. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

The Lord truly is the builder of the church and the cheif cornerstone of the church. Through Jesus we “live move and have our being”

  15. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Children are a blessing, ALL KIDS, some may not have the understanding that others do of how to pray, read, how to act in church, but that is what learning is for, if you are raised in a house of believers you learn the things of God, they may not stay in the church, but they do come back, but if your raised by a drug addict or a partier, you feel trapped like oh well this is all to life, this is how life really is, thats why i love that we go and get the kids, we try to show them what life can be like with God in it, we give them opportunity to repent, get baptized and the Holy Ghost! So they have , hope! They have a choice now, they see that that life is not the only life, I wish that I had that when I was a kid! God is so great, Lord I expect that I will have a blessing! In Jesus Name!

  16. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

We serve because we choose to; lets make sure we don’t work in vain for labors that do not glorify God. Let all we do be for the glory of the Lord!

  17. LIVING IN THE WILL OF GOD

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

There are few things that influence others; money, position, leadership, GOD to name the most common the I witness. Through influencing others, we find businesses built, ministries formed, churches grow, foundations established, however, what is the only guaranteed staying power?

Considering the facts of each one:

Money = Run out, become worthless
    Position = Eliminated, lose place
Leadership = Influence is swayed against, negative report
GOD = Never changes, always wins, ever producing

Whatever we feel called to, or set out to do for the LORD, we are wise to Follow HIM and not expect HIM to follow us.

Let GOD Build IT. Do NOT try to Build without GOD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  18. Psalm 127:1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour
in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

1.The human hand without the hand of God is vain.

    2. The human eye without the eye of God is vain.

    3. God is to be acknowledged in all our works.
A By seeking his direction before them.
B.By depending upon his help in them.
    C. By giving him the glory of them.

    4. In all our cares.

  19. AMP – 1It is vain for you to rise early,
    To retire late,
To eat the bread of anxious labors—
For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.

I believe in giving our employer their 8 hours of good labor, giving them what they are paying for. However, there comes a time when we have to line our priorities up with the word of God. If we are spending so much time working that we are not leading our families in how to live as good spirit filled christians trusting the Lord to provide for our needs, then we need to adjust our lifestyle.

We must build our house according to the Word of God, with God’s priorities and He will provide and take care of us. Let the Kingdom be our priority and our jobs the means to meet the needs of that priority.

  20. I Love To Worship The Lord
The chapter tells people to remember that it was God who saved there city from enemies God had given them everything that was valuable to them safety houses food children and peace it was God who let them work hard to build houses it was God who let them do other things.

  21. iLove to Go Blog
“It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Wow, God wants his children to have rest. God is not a task master and this is the reason He put the Sabbath Day of rest into effect. God wants us to be productive for sure, but He also desires for us to be rested. 😀👍

  22. Psalms 127:3 (NLT)
“Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.”

Let’s remember that EVERY precious child that comes to POFW is a GIFT from God. Let’s Love them, Teach them, and Train them in the Word and Ways of the LORD.
They are our Heritage and Reward.

Thank You JESUS for my son, Timothy.
Thank You JESUS for every child that I have had the honor and privilege to teach and train in Your word and in Your ways.
Thank You JESUS for Kingdom Cadets.

  23. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

If we are not doing the work of the Lord to glorify Him then we are laboring in vain. All the we do should be to help build the kingdom of God as He desires it, not the way we see fit. Lord anoint my hands and feet and give me the wisdom to know how to better serve Your kingdom!

  24. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Children are so important to the Lord God, that we need to take notice and be mindful to fast and pray for our own Children’s Ministry and those who labor here: Bus staff and drivers, Sunday school teachers, G-Force team members, Director and the children we are privileged to serve. POFW needs more laborers in this ministry! Bless these laborers as they teach, lead and are examples every week.

  25. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth. NLT

It’s important for us to raise our children to be mighty warriors for God’s kingdom!

  26. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Our children are the biggest blessings that the Lord could ever bestow upon us, both our natural born and spiritually born children. With the blessing also comes an enormous responsibility. He wants us to train up our children in the ways of God so that they too can learn how to put their trust and faith in Him. God does not have any grandchildren. We cannot serve the Lord for our children, they must make that decision themselves. No greater joy will I have in heaven than seeing my Jesus and then seeing my family and those that I love worshipping at the feet of Jesus with me!!

  27. Josiah: 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
If God is for us who can be against us? When we obey God’s word we are likened to a person who built their house upon the rock and when the rain, wind, and floods came the house stood. On the contrary if someone does not heed to God’s word they are likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand and when the rain, wind, and floods came the house “it fell: and geat was the fall of it”. When God builds something through us it can last, but if we try to do it without God it is in vain. “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it:”
So, let us GO in JESUS NAME!

  28. It is vain for you to rise early,
    To retire late,
To eat the bread of anxious labors—
For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.

In Psalms 127 it states that sleep is a gift to His beloved. Trust in the peace that Jesus truly has everything under control, and rest!

Ps 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

  29. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

It is blessed to be a parent. Have children for this is a commandment to Noah and his family.
Young people-even though we are not to have children until we are married, we can become parents to dreams and visions. We must learn to seek out God’s plan for our lives and birth the visions and dreams of our generation. What do you want to see come to pass in your life time? What do you dream of doing for the kingdom to further it? These dreams and visions should be our children. We must nurture them and feed them. Take care of them and watch them grow into reality. #GODOSOMETHING by dreaming

  30. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Everything we do in word or deed we need to do it all in the name of the Lord! He is mighty and everything He does is far beyond us and our understanding. He even works circumstances in our lives far more intricately then we can understand. His works in our lives are the best thing that could happen to us! I need to be sure that I am allowing God to mould and shape me how He wants me to be rather then according to how I want. The things of this world do not last but things of God last eternally! I need to allow God to build me up and to lay my treasures up in heaven! What God wants to happen will happen, so if I continue to allow Him to build me up then I will be ready for what is to come!

  31. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Jesus is why we live. Let’s live for him.

  32. Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.(Psalms 127:1 KJV)

As for me and my house we will praise the Lord (Joshua 24:15 KJV). When we make God our foundation that we build upon their is nothing that can defeat us. He is our cornerstone and strong tower. He is our protector and provider anything else us done in vain.

  33. La prosperidad viene de Jehová! Salmo-127:3 He aquí, herencia de Jehová son los hijos; Cosa de estima el fruto del vientre.

  34. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

When children are trained up in the ways of the Lord, when they know how to war on their knees, when they have seen their parents overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, these children are dangerous to the enemy. They don’t know any other way of life but to have their foot on the devils neck. From my experience with martial arts, the young fighters were much more limber, flexible, and effectively more dangerous. Although the experience of the old fighters was great wisdom to those in the fight, it was the young that actually did the fighting. If we are going to truly defeat the enemy we will use everything in our quiver. Our children will keep the enemy at the gate!

  35. 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

The children we reach out to are like a arrow in the hands of mighty warrior. When we invest into the lives of the youth and children of this region we are investing into the now and the future and it is an investment that will benefit many.

  36. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

You may provide what you can and labor hard but if the Lord is not in it nothing good will come out of it

  37. 3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

4 “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth”.

  38. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

    “Happy is the man”

  39. Reason to be in children ministry.

Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

  40. 1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

It is my pray that the Lord builds both my house and my life that I do not labour in vain. That he directs my paths and my direction. That I build where he wants me to build and leave untouched what God wants me to leave untouched.

  41. “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This little nugget make me evaluate myself more. Why do I get up early and stay up late? Burning the candle at both ends is rather difficult. Jesus gives me rest. I’m gonjntg to rest in him.

  42. Psalm 127:3 (English Amp) Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. [ Deut, 28:4] Blessed shall be the fruit of your body and fruit of your ground and the fruit of your beasts, the increase of your cattie and the young of your flock. When I work in the nursery I want to love and hold those babies. It a blessing from God when new babies come in the nursery. Thank you Jesus for my two children Tommy and Ashley. Thank you Jesus for all children so we can love them, teach them, train them , read your word to them, pray for them. Every child counts, They are important to Jesus.l
