Psalm 140

Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

  1. Verses 6-7 CEV “You, Lord, are my God! Please listen to my prayer. You have the power to save me, and you keep me safe in every battle.” The end of II Chronicles 20:15 says “…….Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

Verse 13 NLT “Surely righteous people are praising your name; the godly will live in your presence.” In your presence is where I want to be. As the song “Your Presence” says:

All of my life I’ve searched for You Lord

You called me to Your side
With all of my heart, I’m desperate for more
    Your presence is my life
    The cry of my heart
Is to be where You are
    I love Your presence

  2. Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man, preserve me from the violent man. In today’s world we need your help more and more,we can’t do it without you. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  3. 6 “Eternal One,” I said, “You are my one and only God. Hear me, O Eternal, hear my humble cry for rescue. Voice

Sometimes we need to stop everything and make sure that God is the one and only in our lives. If we have allowed any other gods to come before Him, when we cry out, He may tell us to get one of our “other gods” to rescue us.

  4. Wow.

Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

  5. 3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

We are not without the subject of being attacked, being talked about and slandered, it is not far to believe that we are often laughed at for what we do and how we live, but out God knows and those who wish to trap us, he is more than able to preserve us from them upon our cry

  6. 11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

    Evil = Pride
A proud heart comes before the fall…
If evil go out looking for someone to overthrow, it reminds me a lot of two men, sitting down to arm wrestle. Why? Just so one can brag that he bested the other… Pride.

If pride = evil, than an evil speaker is a prideful boaster. A prideful boaster can expect someone else coming along fighting with all their might to best him…

  7. GO IN THE COVERING OF THE LORD

6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.
7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

One of the greatest needs in the church today is effectual, fervent prayer from righteous believers. It is possible to be a faithful follower but never know our LORD JESUS. The psalmist identifies a powerful revelation here, when he requests, declares and decrees for GOD to “hear” his voice in supplication or requests.

    Some personal considerations for us:

Do I include JESUS in every choice I make?
How often do I ask, seek, petition JESUS for choices I make?
Do I speak to JESUS most often for DIRECTION or FORCIVENESS?
Do I KNOW the VOICE of the LORD?
Does the LORD know my voice?

The purpose for these questions in my life are the fact that I do not want to make a choice that JESUS has not sanctioned.

    Why?

I desire JESUS to cover my head in the day of battle.

People are often afflicted, wounded and deceived in the day of battle because their head is uncovered. Understanding that covering is the fruit of “SUBMISSION” or being under authority.

This can be summed up in one word

    “RELATIONSHIP”.

Do I have a RELATIONSHIP with JESUS?

  8. “I said to the Lord, “You are my God!” Listen, O Lord, to my cries for mercy! O Sovereign Lord, the strong one who rescued me, you protected me on the day of battle. Lord, do not let evil people have their way. Do not let their evil schemes succeed, or they will become proud. Interlude”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭140:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  9. 140 1-5 God, get me out of here, away from this evil;
protect me from these vicious people.
    All they do is think up new ways to be bad;
they spend their days plotting war games.
They practice the sharp rhetoric of hate and hurt,
speak venomous words that maim and kill.
God, keep me out of the clutch of these wicked ones,
    protect me from these vicious people;
Stuffed with self-importance, they plot ways to trip me up,
    determined to bring me down.
These crooks invent traps to catch me
and do their best to incriminate me. (Msg)

We cannot afford to allow the devil to use a persons evil venomous words to trip us up. We are pilgrims passing through this life and the enemy is setting up traps to get us entangled in lies and mess. Let us trust God to lead us through the valley.

  10. Psalms 140
6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

    My Covering
Thou oh Lord are the Head of my household, I submit to You ,I leave my hair uncut I leave my hair uncut as a covering in submission to Your word in submission to You.
You are my strength in these daily battles. I know You hear my voice.
Keep my heart keep my mind keep my feet walking I the right direction.
As I submit to your will.
Thank you for the leadership I submit unto the head the covering You have placed me under.
A cover is a protection,a blanket,a place of safety, a place of refuge,a place of peaxe. A covering,a wall of strengthening. Gid is my refuge and my strength fth a present help in the times of trouble. Thank you Lord
    His Strength is Perfect

  11. Salmo-140:13 Yo sé que el Señor hace justicia al pobre
y defiende el derecho del afligido.
    14 Los hombres honrados alabarán tu nombre;
¡los hombres rectos vivirán en tu presencia!

  12. 2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

Mom was right when she said, “Be careful who you surround yourself with.” Even though I was a teenager when last I heard this warning, we need to follow this advice into adulthood. Apparently, we’re still easily influenced by those around us. We’d like to believe that each choice we make is based upon the facts and our good judgement. But, unfortunately, that’s not always the case.

When we don’t stop and take the time to consider our options, we go through the motions as if we’re on auto-pilot. Instead of conducting our own research, we’ll look around at what others are doing and simply copy what we see. Beware of, “I’ll have what he’s having,”. Let’s develop our own opinion. Educate ourselves about our choices so we can make a well-informed decision.

People are more likely to copy other people when they feel pressure to hurry with a decision. Take time to make decisions by asking questions and thinking about our options – even if that means we risk looking “stupid” or holding up the line. Just because everyone else seems to be making a quick decision doesn’t mean they know best.

  13. 4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

The prayer to be preserved from the wicked also applies to our leadership. David as the godly King of Israel allowed the people to freely worship God and today we also need this peace to worship God. Our freedom to do so is under fire and our President needs our prayer to lead us as a Chrisitan nation. Leadership comes under attack more violently than those under their authority sometimes so pray for our leaders on the national, state, and city level as we also pray for our spiritual leaders: Pastor & Sis Watts, the Elders and Directors. I bless our leaders in Jesus name.

  14. 8 Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

We push back the darkeness of sin and evil with the Name of Jesus! Jesus lights up the kingdom that can not be shaken. Desires of wicked are all around us tormenting and trying to do an evil work, but they cannot push forward when they are surrounded by Jesus Christ! Thank you Jesus!

6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8 Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As I read this all I hear is ” Choose this day whom you shall serve ”
God is not a God to be mocked, we can dance, praise and all that but if its not real in our heart, its nothing! I Declare today that God is my God, And there is not one thing or person that will come before him. Its time to Declare who my God is, its time to have the relationship that he desires, not the one that I create the one that shows him that My mind is made up, and that I am souled out, and that no mater what is going on what battle I am facing, He is my strength and my Covering, I dont need no blind, mute, dead god!
I CHOOSE THE GOD OF MY SALVATION, JESUS CHRIST

    Joshua 24:14-15The Message (MSG)

14 “So now: Fear God. Worship him in total commitment. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped on the far side of The River (the Euphrates) and in Egypt. You, worship God.

15 “If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you’d rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you’re now living. As for me and my family, we’ll worship God.”

  16. Grant not, O Lord , the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah. As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
    Psalms 140:8‭-‬10 KJV
    http://bible.com/1/psa.140.8-10.KJV

As I read these verses; it reminded me of a time when I was like them. No matter who came before me I would cast out words like an asp. Man I can’t believe I was one like this. I thank God that I found the truth: now I can’t see myself any other way, but as God’s chosen. God give me the strength and courage to stay on the path and not to be pulled back into the pit. Thank you Jesus.

“Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord . But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord .”
    Joshua 24:14‭-‬15 NIV
    http://bible.com/111/jos.24.14-15.NIV

We can’t serve God and the world. This is a very important step for all. Whom do you serve God or the gods of your ancestors. This is a daily battle for myself. I have to chose God daily or I can fall right back into the world of delusion I was use to living in. God knows my struggles and He gives me the weapons to fight these gods off daily, but it is still my choice in the end and I chose the ALMIGHTY GOD over these fake gods.

  17. 6 I said to the Lord, “You are my God!” Listen, O Lord, to my cries for mercy!
7 O Sovereign Lord, the strong one who rescued me, you protected me on the day of battle.
8 Lord, do not let evil people have their way. Do not let their evil schemes succeed, or they will become proud. Interlude. (NLT)

Reading this chapter I thought of a song I heard a whIle back that’s also scripture: “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” (Micah 7:8) There’s a reason God renews His mercies everyday; He knows as humans we mess up, a lot. So even though I stumble, I know God’s mercy is right there ready for me. God, You are my God and today You will save me!

  18. 7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

For starters we need to come to an understanding it’s not our battle it’s His. If we don’t have a strong enough relationship with Him then we will fall and He will continue to win. Im sure each of you have heard things like “it’s in Gods hands” or “Gods got this” in order for those saying to really be affective in your life then you have to have a strong relationship with God. That means humbly submitting yourself to your pastor or anyone higher in authority. If you go against the man of God you’re going against the Word of God which means you’re going against God period and we already know we won’t win like that. So I pray for spiritual guidance and direction, I pray that we can obey the voice of God and the man of God. Then you will see results/blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

I bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  19. Psalms 140:1-4
    1) DELIVER me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me form the violent man;
    2) Which imagine mischiefs in their hearts; continually are they gathered together for war.
    3) The have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.
    4) Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

There are going to be many people who will (purposely) come against us to overthrow (hinder) our walk with the LORD. Gal.5:7 says, “Ye did run well, who did hinder you…?” But we can’t allow this to happen.
Today stand upon HIS WORD that says, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:17)

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Wow, check this out…”thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.” Wow, that sounds like the helmet of Salvation to me…Yep, Ephesians 6:17 KJV  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

The helmet of Salvation covers our head in the day of battle. All the negative thoughts, fear, doubts, and trials must be filtered through our minds. We must have the helmet of Salvation on in order to have the victory. We must read the Word which washes our mind with equips us with the helmet of Salvation.

  21. I said to the Lord , “You are my God!” Listen, O Lord , to my cries for mercy! O Sovereign Lord , the strong one who rescued me, you protected me on the day of battle. Surely righteous people are praising your name; the godly will live in your presence.
    Psalms 140:6‭-‬7‭, ‬13 NLT
If it’s ok I want to put my put in
1# God will never let those who trouble us get away with it we are GOD people
2#have little faith if you don’t think God will protective us and be by our side God is fighting for us
3# instead of praying for bad things to happen to your enemies you should be praying for God to bless them and let there heart turn to GOD father God help us and bless those who me prosecute let them know that you are GOD the great I am then maybe they might have a changing.
I bless you in the name of JESUS

  22. 8 Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

There is not one thing to happen if not gone first through GOD HIMSELF !!!

  23. 1 Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

Selah.

Separate me lord from the world and help me to recognize and steer clear of the evil temptations of the world.
When you go fishing you bait your hook with something that the fish likes usually it’s exiting or a bright color or just smells good so the fish are attracted to the bait, but there’s always a hook inside. The fish may get the initial taste but gets hooked. We go through the same thing. And only those who know god can recognize the traps and steer clear of them.

  24. 6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

    God, you are God
    There is no one greater
    No one greater

When I first heard the lyrics to this song I thought well He knows He’s God so why do we have we tell him, but then I begin to realize that yes, He knows He’s God but does He know that He’s the God of my life or have I put other things before Him and given more of my time to something else? I pray that I live my life to where there is no questioning that He is the God over my life!! God you are my God!

  25. 13 Surely the righteous will praise your name,
and the upright will live in your presence. NIV

His presence is heaven to me!

  26. Los que alzan su voz para maldecir a hijos de Dios no prosperarán porque el señor todopoderoso no abandona Asus hijos los libra de la lengua venenosa y de la lengua mentirosa el señor es nuestro escudo en todo tiempo

  27. 6 I say to the Lord, “You are my God.”
Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.

If there is something that I never want to leave is crying out to God!!! I never want to leave His presence!!! You are My God Lord!!! My King Of Kings and Lord of Lord!!!

  28. 6 I said to the Lord, “You are my God!”
Listen, O Lord, to my cries for mercy!
7 O Sovereign Lord, the strong one who rescued me,
you protected me on the day of battle.

What is so amazing about Jesus, is that He is who you need Him to be. A Healer, Way Maker, Peace, Joy. We are blessed to have the All in One and the One in All God! We don’t have to worship “different gods” for certain needs. We worship the One True God to receive everything we need!

  29. But I know the Lord will help those they persecute; he will give justice to the poor. Surely righteous people are praising your name; the godly will live in your presence.
    Psalms 140:12‭-‬13 NLT

But I know! I know the LORD is my help! You are the strength of my salvation!

  30. 9 Let my enemies be destroyed by the very evil they have planned for me.

Yes, all your enemies the Lord will deal with them. According to scripture, it will not go well for them. The Lord will guard us from our enemies at all times.

  31. 6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Protect your head. Your head is where we see, hear, and say things. Protect it and make sure that only Godly things come in and go out. We are known for what we say. So make sure it pure. Stay in tune with God.
    #GODOSOMETHING

  32. 140. 7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

  33. Psalm 140:12(English Amp) I know and rest onconfidence upon it that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted and will secure justice for the poor and needy [of His believing children]. Lord you are the strength of my salvation, You are my protecter of my battles . I bless you in the name of Jesus Christ.

  34. The Bible let’s us know the people of this world will be wiser than ourselves concerning the things of the world, so the prayer for God to ‘Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man’ is not an admission of defeat: it’s a recognition that we need the strength of God to prevail. We don’t need to become ‘wiser’ in the ways of the world, we need our focus to remain upon God, for our heart to be molded according to his will and desires. Their lips may only speak with the intent to take us down and poison our walk, their snares may be laid in wait hoping to catch us unawares, but our confidence is in the Lord! We don’t fight fire with fire or return evil for evil, we allow his spirit to abundantly provide for our character and perspective and trust in him to deliver us from the evil day. We need to ‘know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.’ It is not just a faint hope, it is SURELY and SHALL, and when that is truly determined in our heart, we can heap coals upon those who would see us destroyed just by doing good.. because God is good!

  35. Josiah: 12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,  and the right of the poor.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
When God is for us, what can stand against us? Psalm 125:2 says “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from henceforth even for ever.” God protects us. So, no matter what this world may try to do to us we do not need to be afraid. In fact when the devil opposes us and tries to stop us we can use that as encouragement that we are doing what God wants which is why the devil is mad. So, let us GO BOLDLY in JESUS NAME! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PAISE YE THE LORD!

  36. 6 I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Pray for the mind of Christ everyday. Protect your mind from attacks of the enemy for there is where the battle starts. Fill your mind with the Word of God. And cast down imaginations in Jesus name.

  37. O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
    Psalms 140:7 KJV

As Ephesians 6 talks of our spiritual armour, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit, breastplate of righteousness, to be girt with truth and feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Truly this armour is important! Yet, one can look throughout history and see many different types of armour that soldiers wore, yet the most important aspect was whether it would be strong enough to withstand and protect the soldier throughout the battle. The upkeep and strength of their armour was one of the most important things that they cared about. Because without it they would die, when the next battle came. How much more spiritually should I be caring for my armour! Not just one piece, but the entirety of it!  I should be being sure that God is the source of the strength of my armour; not the things of this world. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! So I should be sure that He is also the strength of my armour! So that His strength is what covers my head from the enemy! Praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever!

  38. They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.(Psalms 140:3 KJV)

The enemies know that there tongues are weapons for which the words they say are like venom when they bite deep like a poisonous fangs of a snake.God protects us from the venom of evil.

  39. 5 The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

The enemy sets snare and attacks for us and can’t wait to see us slip and fall into one. If he can keep us from the destiny the Lord has for us he figures he’s won. It doesn’t matter how many traps he sets he cannot win. He doesn’t have the keys to his own home in hell. Death has been overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Next time a snare pops up we are prepared, knowing the antics of devil. This is why it’s so important to put on the full armor.

  40. The covering

7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle

The battle will test your obedenice. In the middle of the battle the commander will give specific instructions to his troops. You can’t spell unity without unit. This is a military term when several people work as one under the authority of one commander. The obedience to his voice is life or death. God has given us a Pastor to lead us. The unit is the church. When the battle rages we need to be keen to listen for his voice and work together. This is our covering in battle. If we are covered we can fight without any harm. Protect your covering and your covering will protect you.

  41. 12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

God is righteous and will not suffer his people to be afflicted. Instead he defends the rights of the poor and comforts the needy. That’s the kind of God we serve. One that sits high and looks low, one that is considerate of the lowly and those who are destitute. Thank God for his kindness and mercy.

  42. Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

3 They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

  43. The Lord my God protects me from many things.
    Evil men
    Violent men
    The wicked
    The proud
    Those that compass me
    Evil speakers

For his great hand of mercy and forgiveness we owe much gratitude. We can’t make it without him. He is the grace that allows us to live.

“Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭140:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  44. 13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

There’s no place to be than the presence of God. There’s peace, salvation, and direction when we stand on His word and follow Him.

  45. 2 Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

Where your heart is, there will your treasure he also! It’s true that evil people always find someone to do mischief with. All under the umbrella of self-righteousness. They justify there actions or cause because it is for there better good.

There measurement of good is relative. Having there own measure. God is the ultimate good, that’s why we have standards. We measure according to God not man.

  46. 7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
We cannot go through this world without the protection of Jesus each and every day. The covering of our heads in the day of battle spoken in the 7th verse relates not only to the physical protection but also the mental protection as well. Our brain controls every single function of our body and our thoughts direct the course of our actions. If the enemy can destroy the head, then he destroys the body. Likewise, if the enemy can destroy our mind and we fall away from God, then our soul is lost from God. We need the continuous protection of Jesus during these days. Our souls and those of the ones we love will not survive without it.

  47. 7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

I must put on the whole armor of the Lord everyday! This is for my protection. There are some thing that we can ask the Lord to keep us from and do for us, but there are some things we can and must do for ourselves first. If we don’t do want we can to protect our spirit, it’s useless to ask the Lord to cover us.

Do our part first, then God will do His!

  48. Something to remember is that Evil hunts the violent man in this chapter. But, in Proverbs it says to persue peace. So, you have a choice! Just choice wisely!

    “Choice Peace”………

  49. PsaIm 140

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

I remember how Jesus said doing Good unto them that hate you is like heaping burning coals unto their head. Showing that even today David’s prayers for the wicked ones are being answered.
