Psalm 147

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Praise the Lord ! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting! He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! The Lord supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust. Sing out your thanks to the Lord ; sing praises to our God with a harp. No, the Lord ’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Praise the Lord we serve a great and my God he is a healer and my protector he is my strength and my guiding hand great is the LORD his love never failed but it will endure forevermore Jesus how great it is to praise you name there is no other name I rather praise but the one who made the moon and stars

  2. Verse 5 AMP “Great is our [majestic and mighty] Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is inexhaustible [infinite, boundless].” Psalm 139:1-6 NKJV says “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.”

Verses 10-11 CEV say “The Lord doesn’t care about the strength of horses or powerful armies. The Lord is pleased only with those who worship him and trust his love.” Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP says “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. [a]In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

  3. He health the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars, he calleth them by their names. What a mighty God we serve blessed be the name of the Lord.

  4. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

We’ve all heard the saying, “Easier said than done” because saying something takes the least amount of our energy, vs physically doing the task.

Well, when you think of how much power is in a tornado, hurricane, tsunami, or consider a black hole in space so strong that even light can’t escape; then consider that God created these by just speaking them into existence…how can our minds comprehend how much power He really has?

    Matthew 28:18
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

  5. His words may be smooth. But his words will never fail you. I will always look towards him as my help. As my refuge. Today I am thankful for his faithfulness!

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

  6. Salmo-147:12 al 14 Alaba al Señor, Jerusalén;
alaba a tu Dios, oh Sión.
Él refuerza los cerrojos de tus puertas
y bendice a los que en ti habitan.
Él trae la paz a tus fronteras
y te sacia con lo mejor del trigo.

  7. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

God is not impressed with the physical abilities of any man or best. He is impressed with those who fear him and love him. Thats what pulls at and attracts the heart of God.

  8. 2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The one who calls the numbers of Stars and knows them by name, the God of Abraham, the God that knoweth all things and is all powerful…has an eye for each and every person. He heals the broken hearted and gathers the outcast..if we are not careful to remember, we can forget the greatest privilege outside of salvation we have is that we get to pray, we get to praise, we get to be in touch with the God of our forefathers. We are but vapor in the wind and still somehow have significance to the Maker. We are truly blessed more than we can know

  9. He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

God is not impressed by what we can do on our own. God is impressed by what we can accomplish through Him and Him alone. For those that draw their strength from Him, that rely on His goodness and mercy, that fear the LORD with love and respect. The LORD is great and greatly to be praised.

  10. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

  11. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

As I read this verse 10, I thought it odd to say that, but then it occurred to me all the things we think God cares about and all the things we might do to please him may not. God gives us strength, and the animals he made them just as they are, so a strong horse is just using the strength that GOD gave him. But what about us, God gives us strength, he gives us joy, he gives us Salvation. But God isnt impressed, hes seen the same things from us from generation to generation, I believe that he is happy, and pleased when we are obedient and when we show him the honor that he is due, It says in 11 those that hope in his mercy, but his mercy is new every day, and every day we have a chance at repentance, What if we live each day like its our only chance, like if we mess up there is no forgiveness, like we wont get the mercy that is new everyday! Live like its our last chance! I believe that I would be better than before if I lived my life like that! Then I would stop taking things for granted!

  12. I never really thought of how important it is to give God praise. Until I starting coming to POFW; man how very important it is to praise His Holy name. Without praise why pray for anything. God knows our hearts and our minds. Give Him praise every minute of every day. He will show mercy and love to each and everyone that will fear Him and keep His commandments. Thank you Jesus for giving me a heart of praise.

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Praise the Lord , O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
    Psalms 147:11‭-‬13 KJV

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.

  13. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

  14. GO PLEASE THE LORD

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

Considering the condition of the world and the sin of our society, it would be sensible to believe that the heart of GOD is grieved over the lawlessness. However we learn through the psalmist today what exactly GOD takes pleasure in.

People that FEAR HIM (love, honor and respect) and have HOPE (faith, confidence and trust) in HIM.

It is possible for the church to PLEASE GOD by simply doing what is right and best for us. We begin with PRAISE unto GOD.

    It is GOOD for us…

1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

    Lets GO PLEASE THE LORD!

  15. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

It could be said that fear is the opposite of hope. Where fear reigns there is no hope. When there is hope, there is always a possibility which leads to opportunity. Once our minds are clear of paralyzing fear we can then search for the solution. What is hope if it is not a response to mercy? Where there is hope, there is a future. Where there is mercy we can realize forgiveness.

Mercy is Jesus and His sacrifice. Undeserved forgiveness. It is because of faith that we hope for the future. We hope that forgiveness will come to the sinner. We hope that the lost will be found. Faith, kind of creates hope. Faith is looking to a future that is uncertain and hoping for what God will do, based upon the what He has already been done.

  16. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Reading this chapter, all I could think was, “Wow God! You’re so great.”

  17. Psalms 147
    He Heals the Broken Heart
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Jesus the healer of a broken heart.
Life has a way of causing the heart to be broken from time to time.
    A relationship gone bad.
911 destroying many lives leaving loved ones with a broken heart.
A car accident leaving someone paralyzed.
Children being removed from their parents due to neglect.
The death of a child, the death of a spouse, the shunning of family members ,the liss of a grandchild, the incarceration of a son.
The list is endless BUT JESUS SAID HE HEALETH THE BROKEN HEART HE DID NOT STOP THERE THOUGH
Oh Such a loving Savior He goes further than that. He knew that their would be memories also that woukd come from time to time and He said He would bind up the wounds. Wounds that noone else can heal He us binding them up,He applies His salve of peace when tormenting thoughts arisr. I believe this us eat He meant when He said He would bind up the wounds. Yes He is the Healer of a Broken Heart but His love goes much deeper that He cares about all of the emotional pain that has destroyed the Heart He does Heal He is hesling. We just have to give Him the pieces and He will Heal and Bind up.
    Thank you Lord
    His Strength is Perfect

  18. iLove to Go Blog
Psalms 147:1-3 KJV  Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.  (2)  The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.  (3)  He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

These verses show us “how” to receive our healing for our hearts and and our bodies. We must praise God! When we truly praise God, we become beautiful in the sight of God. “For it (praise) is pleasant, and praise is comely.” If we want the blessings of the Kingdom…we can’t be ugly!

  19. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

  20. Josiah: 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite.
God is more powerful than anything that this world can throw against us. His greatness is unmeasurable and when we put our trust in Him why do we need to worry? Because, if God is for us, who can stand against us? When God is on our side He can give us strength to battle. 2 S. 22:40 says “For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.” So, let us GO BOLDLY for God is on our side! LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  21. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

There aren’t very many things in life that you can absolutely count on because of what people call ‘Murphy’s Law’, but we CAN count on the promises and love of our God. Relying on the arm of the flesh or our own strength doesn’t please him, but a humble spirit he will not despise. We each need his mercy and grace and must be wise to fear/respect him.

  22. My hope is in Jesus Christ. God knows our very soul. He knows all that is spoken and unspoken and yet if we fear Him and have hope in Him, He brings us through the storm

  23. Psalms 147:3, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

There are many things in this life that can cause us to be brokenhearted and wounded, But JESUS is our HEALER, COMFORTER, PEACE, and STRENGTH!

  24. Psalm 147:1 Hallelujah! It’s a good thing to sing praise to our God; praise is beautiful, praise is fitting.

  25. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

  26. I Love To Worship The Lord
God who heals the brokenhearted sustains the universe itself by his power God who takes care of the living on earth takes delight in those who fear Him and grants them peace God who controls all by his word has blessed Israel with His commands and decrees Praise the Lord

  27. 14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

God wants peace for you and to provide for you.

  28. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

If you want to please God, you must follow Him, obey His word and serve His kingdom whole heartedly! You cannot please or impress Him by trying to do life on your own for He takes pleasure in you seeking after Him for guidance!

  29. 1-2 Hallelujah! It’s a good thing to sing praise to our God; praise is beautiful, praise is fitting.

I sing my praises to you God! You are the creator of it all! You control everything it’s all in your hands! God you are great and I praise your name with thanksgiving! Wow God you are amazing!

  30. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

It is good to praise the Lord.

  31. Hannah: “6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground. 7 Sing unto the Lord with Thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:” Blessed is the meek in the Lord who serve him with all their heart. The Lord ways that he lifts the meek in him up but he casteth the wicked to the ground. Each and every one of us should always continue to sing praises unto our Lord and magnify his name. He is worthy of more than we can ever give him and we should always praise him for what he has done. Serve the Lord with all your heart and never turn to the wicked ways of this world.

  32. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds

Wounds send signals to the brain of pain to alert the body of it’s need in distress. In response the body tries to heal itself by sending the cells needed to repair. Even then some wounds need a miraculous healing. Some hearts and body parts will never be the same but God can make them whole again. Just touching these wounds emit pain but if we trust God to deal with us we will grow from the hurt to a new creation he is molding us into. Pain and wounds are a part of the process and no two will look alike.

  33. Praise ye the Lord : for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.(Psalms 147:1 KJV)

I will shout unto my God with the highest praise for he’s worthy to be praised and blessed is his Name to be high and lifted up. King Jesus is so pleased when only those that worship him and trust his love. So it is right and good to praise the Lord God almighty for he loves to see his children praise his name.

  34. The world today competes vigorously to find the best and brightest for its association. From colleges to the corporate world to self defined organisations, they all share that common goal and resort to advertising and marketing and whatever else they can to make theirselves more attractive. Yet God chooses to gather the outcasts of society to build up Jerusalem. The downtrodden outcasts the world deems of little value are activity sought out by God. He doesn’t look too their outward strength but to their inner hope in him. He even binds the wounds they bring with them and heals their hearts that have been so broken by a world that thought it could get by without them. It is with these that God will build a kingdom to rule over everything else in this world because unlike ourselves, his understanding is infinite. And then he takes it a step further: ‘He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.’ It almost defies comprehension and yet those whom the world rejected have now become the means by which they might be saved, because with God all things are possible! He is great and greatly to be praised!

  35. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Thank you Jesus for your healing power. When I was a teenager. My father passed away. He was an inspiration to many people and a role model for many young people. I am honored to call him father. Yet when he passed my whole world had turned upside down. I had No one to really turn too, except God the true Father. The healer of it all. Do I still miss my father. Yes. But I got healing through the Father. What ever you’re going through God can heal you. You have to open up yourself for him to do so. You have to trust in him and believe that he will do it for you. Thank you Jesus for your healing power.
    #GODOSOMETHING

  36. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Great is pur lord and greatly to be praise! God who is creator pf of creations.. he knows the number of hair on our head! The one who is powerful and all knowing. I will praise his name forever!!

  37. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

  38. The Lord is our provider. Everything we need can be found in Jesus. It matters not if it seems impossible because all things are possible with God. He is our help in the time of trouble.

  39. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

The lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, and the ones that fear him take pleasure in the lord! Our God is merciful and gracious, but we can never stop fearing his power and if that happens we lose much much more spiritually. When we fear him, we gain the fruit of the spirit, and we gain the lords words! Thank you Jesus!

  40. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

When we sit and think about the Lord we can’t help but see that He is merciful and great. The Psalmist said to fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (proverbs 9:10) and we can put our hope in Him because His mercy is unfailing (proverbs 130: 7)

His love for us will extend into our lives no matter how far we are. He just ask us to fear him and put our hope in Him.

  41. 8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

The Great God who puts things into place, who has the power to do anything. Has the power and willingness to lift us up and heal us. Not only do we have to praise him when things happen, we have to praise him in advance.

  42. The great physician

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds

Ther are plenty of professionals in the medical field that can stitch you up if you get a cut. They can diagnose a cold and give you the proper medicine. Some of them can even do amazing feats like operate on your brain. Lots of life saving goes on in the hospitals all around the world. But none of them can do what the great physician can do. Healing the broken heart can only be done spiritually. Pastor told me along time ago you can not fox a spiritual problem with a natural solution and you can not fox a natural problem with a spiritual solution. The word says you can go to heaven sick or even without all your members. This tells me that God is not as concerned about our physical being as he is our spirt. Although He loves us and wants us to be well just as any good father would, he knows better than all of is that the spirit is the most important. The great physician is on duty if we would just call on him. He is ready and willing to operate.

  43. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

God really is out loving father that wants to comfort and protect us. I can remember when I was younger that my dad would come and have me sit on his lap. He would wrap his arms around me and help me to feel better. He couldn’t mend my broken heart, but it would feel much better. If my dad, who was sinful (like every man) would try to fix my heart, how much more would Jesus do for me?

“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  44. “He counts the stars and calls them all by name.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭147:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    star
    stär/
    noun

    1. a fixed luminous point in the night sky that is a large, remote incandescent body like the sun. Made from very hot gas.

If the Creator of all and the Lord of all can call mere balls of hot gas by name. Then why do we allow deception to creep in and make us believe that the Lord does not care about us. That we think that He doesn’t even know who we are, or if he is even real.

“Just as He says in [the writings of the prophet] Hosea: “I WILL CALL THOSE WHO WERE NOT M Y PEOPLE, ‘M Y PEOPLE,’ A ND [I will call] HER WHO WAS NOT BELOVED, ‘ BELOVED.’” “A ND IT SHALL BE THAT IN THE PLACE WHERE IT WAS SAID TO THEM, ‘ YOU ARE NOT M Y PEOPLE,’ T HERE THEY SHALL BE CALLED SONS OF THE LIVING GOD.””
    ‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭9:25-26‬ ‭AMP‬‬

WE the children of God are far more important to God.
GOD knows our name, our heart and our needs.

Stand confidently on the Word of God that He KNOWS Your Name!

  45. 4 “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.”

5 “Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.”

6 “The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.”

7 “Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:”

God you are so magnificent! you are so great and greatly to be praised!

  46. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. That comes to mind as I read this verse. We must believe that He is and thus fear, reverence and respect the Lord.

  47. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

i feel like every one goes through their own trials, and through every trial the Lord is there.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

  48. Psalm 147:10-11 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

He does not pleasure in the Go if you go without fear and hope. Fear and Love give purpose to your Go!

  49. 1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

To Praise GOD is to be delivered, chains begin to break and fall off. It’s not a one time deal, it is a continual process……PRAISE GOD!!!

  50. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

I was reminded while reading this chapter about a song:

There is no one great, no one higher, no one like Our God
There is none more able Christ our Savior, Great and Glorious

  51. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

This verse tells me again how to please the Lord to fear him and hope in his mercy. May I please him, and have a good report from Jesus, in Jesus name.

  52. 3’He healtheth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds”
Only Jesus can give a peace which passes all understanding to calm his children when they are in the raging storms of life. Only Jesus can permanently heal wounds, hurts and make us whole again. No physical bandage,no medication, no therapy can begin to compare. He is my comforter,my healer,my protector. He is my God!

  53. “Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for he issued his command, and they came into being. He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭148:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Praise the lord for he is worthy of all your praise.

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭15:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My god deserves our praise because He made all come in to being

  54. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Every time I read this verse, its like “Wow, and I worry about something because….” If the Lord call the stars by name how much more me? There are so many things that I have seen God do that it could’ve only been God!!! I have gotten to a point in my life, where my foundation is stronger than ever before, I pray like never before, I fast like never before, I love Jesus like before and I must maintain this FIRE burning!! I do not want to be lukewarm but ON FIRE for GOD!!! I can’t let anybody or anything get in my way from doing God’s will!!! Move Out Devil!!!

  55. Psalm 147:11 (English Amp)The Lord takes pleasure in those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him,in those who hope in His mercy and lovingkindness. [ Psalm 145:20] The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked will He destroy. We should not ever stop fearing power of the Lord , And want the Lord can do. To fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To love him ,To honor him, to respect him, To have trust and hope in JESUS. We need all of His fruits. I blessed you in the name of JESUS Christ.
