Psalm 149

Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

    It is important that we daily wake up and get battle ready with a praise on our lips and His Word in our hand. Both are weapons yet together they become extremely dangerous.

    The enemy has less to worry about if a person is missing one of these elements. If you have the word in hand yet your negative and the words that you speak are not victorious, Satan knows your not ready to use the weapon in your hand. Let us daily Go in God with a positive attitude of praise and the Word of God in our hands to advance the Kingdom of God and take vengeance upon the enemy.

  6. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
    Do you like it when people verbally lift you up? Yes you do! Well, that’s what we gotta do for the Lord. We have to verbally lift up the Lord. Lift him up and exalt his name for it is greatly to be praised. Now take that two edged sword and GO in the name of JESUS and spread that Gospel.
    I bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

    The praises of God should always be spoken from the people of God. If anyone should praise the Lord it should be us, if anyone should be worshiping in spirit and truth it should be us. And if anyone should have the two edged sword of the word of God at their disposal it should be us!

  20. 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands;

  26. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

  27. 4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

    So often we place limitations on ourselves and on others based on many factors such as height, weight, hair color, etc. We think they should have a certain level of education, look a certain way, speak a certain way or know the best people. God is not limited by these factors; He looks at the condition of our hearts. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks; it matters what God thinks. God always has and always will look at the heart before anything else.

    But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).

  28. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

    I will sing praises .
    I will dance before Him.
    If I find myself somewhere I cannot feel at liberty to do this then I .use be in the wrong place or with the wrong people.
    I always admonish anyone who was courting or considering a relationship my question to them is Can you worship God with all your heart without any hesitation
    in the presence of this person. If the answer is no then I would say this is not the will of God. We must be able to worship express our love to God first before we can ever give it to someone else . Try it . Check it out . It’s a good gauge of your love for God or your love for self.
    He beautifies the meek with salvation.
    Praise Him in a dance. Praise Him with your whole heart!

  29. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

    Our praise is as important as wielding his word. They are both weapons against the adversary. Put on the whole armor of God and use what he has given us to be victorious.

  30. “For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭149:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    Our praises to God should flow from a heart filled with delight and triumph in God’s attributes, and our relation to him. We must by all proper ways show forth the praises of god..

  31. Oh my God. Praising God confuses the enemy. Just went through a situation this morning and i did give praise unto God and the devil left me alone. Glory to God

  32. GO PREPARED

    Simple steps to VICTORY = GO PREPARED

  33. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

    Too many of us don’t recognize the power we have at our finger tips – a two edged sword in our hands. We have the ability to use the word of God like a sword cutting away things from our lives and the lives of others that we see hindering. The word of God is powerful. We must learn how to use it as the weapon God intended it to be for us.

    Know the Word, Use the Word, Speak the Word!

  34. Psalm 149 Rejoice In the King!
    1. Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

    33:3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud voice.

    3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

    5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

    7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

    8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

    9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

    God gives us all the tools for success: it’s up to us to use them. Praise God all the time and the enemy can’t take your joy. Not only that: a joyful noise is one of the many weapons that God gives us to beat back the enemy. The bible is my sword and God’s word is the armor that I need. Satan has no power over me and he is under my feet. Like the song says, “Stomp, Stomp, Stomp. Stomp on the devil. I’ve got the victory, I’ve got the victory.”

    Eph. 6:11-13
    11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  36. Josiah: 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
    “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:” 1 Pe 2:9 We are a chosen generation. We can enter into His presence any day of the week. We are called to be lights to this lost world. So, let us GO BE A CITY SET ON A HILL. Let’s have a fire burning for God. Let’s have continual praise to God in our lips and the word of God in our hand. LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD. PRAISE YE THE LORD!

  37. We can always praise the Lord! With everything that’s within us, we can praise Him! We can use this Word to fight against the adversary and praise Him for the strength,  for the victory that He gives us! The Lord loves us and has given us so many things in life to praise Him for! Not only has He given us physical blessings, but He has given us spiritual blessings as well! HE has given us the knowledge to live pleasing unto Him, and for ALL these things we can praise Him! We can give Him the glory and the honor! Even as come against spiritual advesarys we can praise God! It doesn’t matter the situation, I can always praise Him!

  38. Psalms 149:1
    The word “Hallelujah” means “Praise the LORD.” “Praise” means “tell someone that they are very great.” “LORD” is a special name for God.

  39. Salmo-149:3 al 6 Alaben su nombre con danzas,
    cántenle himnos al son de arpas y panderos.
    Porque el Señor se complace en su pueblo;
    da a los humildes el honor de la victoria.
    Alégrense los fieles con el triunfo,
    y aun dormidos canten de alegría.
    Haya alabanzas a Dios en sus labios.

    Psalms 149:8 KJV  To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

    Bind#H631
    אָסַר
    ‘âsar
    aw-sar’
    A primitive root; to yoke or hitch; by analogy to fasten in any sense, to join battle: – bind, fast, gird, harness, hold, keep, make ready, order, prepare, prison (-er), put in bonds, set in array, tie.

    The power in this verse is found in the fact that ordinary people are binding kings and nobles. The fact of the matter is, we can take this to a spiritual level. The god of this world can be bound by “all” Saints. If you are a saint, you can bind the king of this world. The only catch is, you have to be free and not in bondage. Ha, how can you bind and loose if you’re not already free yourself? Imagine someone in chains demanding a free person to do something…So, only free children of God can bind the prince of this world.

  41. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
    Let everyone be joyful even if you are sick or unable to be at church, you should still praise the Lord thy God with all thy heart.

  42. “Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them. Let them sing for joy as they lie on their beds.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭149:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Sing day and night! Sing praises all the time!

    For He is worthy of all the praise!

  43. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

    HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  44. Wonderful Psalm of praise unto God with a good reminder of God’s perspective: ‘For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.’ God is so often portrayed as harbinger of Old Testament judgement but his truest desire to his people is only seen when that judgement is averted by the salvation he freely provides to all. He takes pleasure is his people, he wants to bless them and see them grow, he wants a spiritual prosperity in their life that spills over into the physical. So ‘Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;’ Imagine being so consumed with the move of God in praise that you continue to praise him as you try and lay down at night. Those moments don’t have to as rare as a blue moon in our walk with God if we truly allow his joy to be full! Even recognizing this verse is referring to a physical sword, it’s hard not to capture the analogy of those who worship him in spirit and in truth: with a praise upon their lips and the word of God so firmly a part of their life that it is truly a spiritual sword in their hands! High praise should increase our confidence and boldness in the spirit so that sword of his word is truly effectual in our hands. O let God’s joy and word remain within us and continue to increase!

  45. 4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

    5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

  46. PRAISE ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. 2. Let Is’- ra -el rejoice in him that made him : let the children of Zi-on be joyful in their King. 3. Let them praise his name in the dance : let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. 4. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people : he will beautify the meek with salvation. 5. Let the saints be joyful in glory : let them sing aloud upon their beds . 6. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two- edged sword in their hand; PRAISE BE TO GOD !!!!

  47. Psalm 149:6 ( English Amp) Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two – edged sword in their hands, [ Heb. 4:12] For the word that God speaks is alive and full of power making it active, operative, energizing, and effective. Carry our bible’s with us to be ready to preach the gospel. Hallelujah I blessed you in the name of Jesus Christ.

  48. 1 Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

    “A new song”, and “his praise” are two different things. While both are going to be praises, they are not the same. Our lives should be the new songs we sing as we live or daily lives to glorify Him. As we praise Him, we give him a place to dwell, and reign, that we might get to bask in his presence.

  49. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    No this isn’t the kind of dance you find on MTV or BET. To dance like David danced isn’t to be taken out of context. David danced before the Lord to praise God, not for pagan enticement or entertainment. When God inhabits our praises we become the instrument. We can use song, dance and musical instruments. However God moves us let it be unto God in praise.

  50. Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

    Sing to the Lord a new song… that is very interesting while there is nothing new under the sun yet there is only one of you according to your finger prints. So there is only one unique and new song that every individual can sing and that is their own personal praise song to God. “You don’t know like I know what the Lord’s done for me” that is why we all have that one song that only you can sing. Let your life be that of a unique and new song to God in praise. That one song that only you can offer from a sincere heart of worship.

  51. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    Joy when all is well and joy in the storm!

  52. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    When I was 6, I started leaning to praise him with instruments. I never realized how important it would in ministry.

    I had to overcome stage freight, learn public speaking, I learned to sing in public, so many things that have been invaluable to me now. It reminds me of David. He was a musician but also a sheppard, warrior, singer, praises, servant, a king and a prophet.

    Wow! Little did I realize I was in training this whole time.

  53. “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭149:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    We are to always praise the Lord, to lift his name, and to glorify him. The reasons we do this is not just for us, but it’s to show him our gratitude and to allow others to be drawn to him through our actions.

    The two edged sword is the word. The word cuts apart the things that should not be in our lives. It shows us how to change and live for God. It shows new believers an example of what to follow and gives them ears to hear God.

    As we GO we praise and use the word to GrOw the kingdom. Often times the things that get new believers to come are our TESTIMONIES or PRAISES of God. Then the word cuts off the world until the babes in Christ can fully grow and walk in his kingdom.

  54. PsaIms 149

    5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

    I remember when pastor spake on this verse and exhorted us to let the Praise of God and a new song, be on our lips as we lay down to sleep. May this message be in my mind and practiced every time I lay down to sleep. To God be the glory
