Proverbs 12

Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

  1. Verse 1 AMP “Whoever loves instruction and discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof and correction is stupid.” How plain and simple. Same verse NLT “To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.” Proverbs 19:20 AMP says “Listen to counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, That you may be wise in the time to come.”

  2. 3 No one can be established through wickedness, but a righteous root cannot be moved. NET

    Job 18:
16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.

21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God. KJV

  3. 3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

When you are grounded in the Word, you will not be moved to unrighteousness.

  4. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Really something I got work following instructions if I want to be a better leader I need following instructions even when I don’t agree cuz all they trying to do is help
When you push away all you doing is saying I don’t care I want more of God I desire More of him and the only to have a relationship with him is following instructions and obeying his l law see if you can’t follow you leader instructions what makes you think you will follow through on God law receive with leader are telling because God has anointed them

  5. 19. The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment. 20. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. It is a sin to lie. Thank you Jesus !!!!

  6. 7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

Righteousness will stand for ever but the wicked will always come trying to tear those walls down. You’re always gonna get hit and attacked by the enemy, he’s not a big fan of “good deeds”. Gods giving you a choice to overcome those challenges in your life. If we fall down we must get back up again take a deep breath and remember you have the victory the enemy has been defeated.

  7. 23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness
It can be easy to join into a conversation and’ add some thoughts’ to show your opinion/ knowledge on a subject when those around you are”speaking their mind”just to ‘have their point heard. You are listening as they are talking without any regard to the consequences as to how what they are saying will be received and you just want to say something.
However, It can be far better to remain silent and to be thought of a fool in the matter than to speak up and remove all doubt.

  8. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

  9. “The plans of the godly are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous. The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives. The wicked die and disappear, but the family of the godly stands firm. A sensible person wins admiration, but a warped mind is despised. Better to be an ordinary person with a servant than to be self-important but have no food. The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel. A hard worker has plenty of food, but a person who chases fantasies has no sense.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:5-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  10. 10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

  11. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

The thing that can keep us from favor with God and understanding how necessary correction is, is going to be our pride. Our pride keeps us from the changes we need to make in life and cause shame.

  12. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

  13. Proverbs 12:18 There is that speakers like the piercings of a sword : but the tongue of the wise is health.

Words have the power to penetrate where no sword can touch, for good or for evil. A wise man uses his tongue for constructive purposes.

    Use your words wisely!
Psalm 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverse Ness therein is a breach in the spirit.

  14. Proverbs 12
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

So thankful for all the Godly counsel that has been poured into my life.
I find it strange that men have so much pride that they cannot be the recipient of Godly counsel. One thing my husband believed was in spiritual authority Godly counsel. He always had counsel in all we did. Bishop Mooney became his head ship when we pastored. Don’t ever think you know it all for the moment you do you have become as the scriptures say just a fool, without any wisdom.

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength

  15. 25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Sometimes things happen, we get down just like anyone else does, the thing that sets us apart is we dont stay down, we dont stay sad, sometimes situations can occur which will make us fell real sad, or even depressed, but the difference of being depressed and living our lives depressed is so vast, when you lose a job, or your loved one passes on, or something like that can make you feel sad, depressed, or low, but that is just temporary, you pray, God gives us that peace, that strength, and then someone just gives you a word that is so uplifting, then all of a sudden you feel that joy, that peace, that comfort! Depression is just another word for sad, we all get sad, but to make it part of our everyday life is on us, God didn’t design us to live in that state, we have to defeat depression because it robs us of all the happiness that God has for us! There isn’t a pill big enough, or strong enough to replace God!
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.

  16. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

We must not concern ourselves with following our own minds and hearts and follow God. The bible tells us every man is right in his own eyes. We cant allow ourselves to be deceived by our own eyes but instead we must follow God. Not only that but we must be open to wise counsel and direction from the Lord in and our leaders in everything we do.

  17. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Life… What is Life? Life is what you do with the time that you have from being conceived to the time you die. Everyone has a life. But what are you doing with it? Are you making the best and most of it, or just laying around waiting for something to happen? Yes, we all are guilty of just laying around at some point, but we must get up and GO. Go do what you may ask? Well God placed us here for a reason and purpose, so find it out for you.
I remember as a teen into my beginning 20’s, how I would stay home and play video games. It was easy to do because I only had a part time job, so therefore I had much time to waste. So I thought. What I learned NOW was that time is one of the only things we have in front of us, but once it’s gone, we can never get it back. Where would I be spiritually if I would have used that time more wisely? Thankfully I am a saved man, and was saved at this time. I don’t want to think what would I have done if I wasn’t saved. So many people do stupid things at this time of LIFE. But as this passage states, in the way of righteousness is life. Be Righteous and your life can and will have joy and fulfillment. You must also hear and listen to the voice of God in your LIFE too. Too many times we miss out on a blessing or a teaching moment because we fail to listen to His voice.
#GODODSOMETHING by being Righteous and Listen to His Voice

  18. Proverbs 12:6 & 18 (NLT)
    6) The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives.
    18) Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.

Prov. 18:21a says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

“Sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words will never hurt me” has never been a true statement. Cutting remarks and hurtful words wound people and can kill their spirit. That is why there are so many hurting/low-self esteemed people in the world today because of cutting and hurtful words that have been spoken to them over the course of their life.
We must, as a child of God, speak words of kindness and encouragement to people today because our kind and encouraging words can bring healing to broken hearts and save lives.

Let LIFE Healing Words come out of your mouth today, and GO Save A Life.

  19. Josiah: 2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
“but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.” It is wise to have the favor of the Lord. Jesus is the only one who can save us. Upon His word we can be established. Psalms 18:31 says “For who is God save the Lord? or who is a rock save our God?” Psalms 94:22 says “But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.” We as true Christians can be built upon the rock and nomatter what this world throws at us we can stand. On the other hand, this world is not built upon the rock and are lost and stumbling in darkness and some do not even know it. However God gave and example of reaching out to the lost. So, let us GO BE A CITY SET ON A HILL that is built upon the rock and has a fire burning for God!

  20. Which way did he go George?

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

In reading the chapter this morning I was reminded of the old cartoon of a big dumb dog who is always chasing a sly fox who disguised himself as a dog and gave bad instructions to the dog. In one instance George told the dog that way, pointing over a fence; of course the dog then jumped the fence only to fall off a cliff. In a moment, the dog returned and asked the same question with the same answer and results. At the end of the sketch, the dog jumps but we do not hear the crash landing. The screen pans and we find the dog laying a pile of mattresses. The dog then claims “I aint so dumb”.

    How does this apply?

It took a bit of digging why God would pull my attention to this verse and remind me of this old cartoon. I believe I have it though. We need to be cautious who we ask for advice. I know there is safety in a multitude of counselors as taught in chapter 11:4; but why a multitude? The Bible tells us that everybody knows somethings or “know in part”. As a result, no one will ever have all of the answers to everything in this life. Having a group of people, you can discuss and learn from will help keep each of us sharp in the Lord, help keep one another humble and accountable in our walk with the Lord, along with being able to learn from one another – “iron sharpens iron”.

  21. Many scriptures in this chapter regard the words we speak. Some tell the possible result of the worst we speak and some are about honesty. The words we choose to speak, matter. One of the biggest lies I can personally atest to is, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” It was one of the biggest slogans in school when I was growing up, but wow is it a lie. I think I would’ve rather taken physical pain in some of the instances where I received hurtful words. One problem today is how most people don’t realize the value of their words. We joke around, speaking all kinds of nonsense and then wonder later on why we are seeing reprocuscions of that nonsense. The words we speak can encourage, bring life, and guide; they can also hurt, bring down, and destroy. Be aware of the words you speak, be careful little lips, little tongue what you say.

The Amplified version titles this chapter, “Contrast the Upright and the Wicked.” Your words and the impact and the results they have, will reveal which side you stand on.

  22. THE BATTLE OF 2 KINGDOMS

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

The Kingdom of this world is one of deceit, lies and conflict and is in direct opposition to the Kingdom of GOD. The Kingdom battle has always been about TRUTH.

TRUTH is the reason for the crucifixion of JESUS. TRUTH is the reason for the incarcaration and death of the disciples of JESUS.

Sincere and complete honesty is the key to power in the Kingdom of GOD. For this cause satan the adversary attempts to sway our integrity, character and speech. at the Kingdom we serve is the one we confess with our mouth.

Speak TRUTH, Speak LOVE and SHOW or display the Kingdom of GOD through our acts and deeds.

  23. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

By comparing the ways & end of the righteous to the ways and end of the lazy, foolish, liar, etc, we can see the way to be blessed. Choosing His ways to live by will show which kingdom you are of.

  24. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Numerous times so far in the first 12 chapters the word “righteousness” has been quoted. Righteousness – the quality of being morally right or justifiable:

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Seeking the path of true righteousness, can be found by seeking the first the kingdom of God. By seeking first His kingdom, we will become kingdom minded, and choose a life style of kingdom living, we will find the path of righteousness.

  25. iLove to Go Blog
Proverbs 12:11 “He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.”

The meaning of the word “tilleth” in the Hebrew is very deep. To us, it simply means to run an air conditioned tractor over the land in preparation of sowing seed, but this word is much more than that in it’s original language.

    “Tilleth” H5647
    עָבַד
A primitive root; to work (in any sense); by implication to serve, till, (causatively) enslave, etc.: –    X be, keep in bondage, be bondmen, bond-service, compel, do, dress, ear, execute, + husbandman, keep, labour (-ing man), bring to pass, (cause to, make to) serve (-ing, self), (be, become) servant (-s), do (use) service, till (-er), transgress [from margin], (set a) work, be wrought, worshipper.

Wow, see what I mean…see how powerful this word is…Attention all weed pulling ministers…we have got to make the land subject to us! We have to till the land and make it our slave. Curse the fig tree and pull the grass! Speak to the mountain of Johnsongrass and rebuke the Bermuda Grass. Pull, pick, and pluck in the name of Jesus and “tilleth” up your land. Boom

  26. 14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.

What are we speaking? What are we doing? Are we building up? Working on kingdom tasks? or tearing down? working on temporal flesh?

We must encourage and build up, as we preach and teach to “every creature”, as we work on His Kingdom. “Seek ye first …”

  27. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

If you don’t want to learn even years of schooling will teach you very little. But if you want to be taught there is no end to what you can learn. This includes being willing to accept correction and learn from the wisdom of others. A person who refuses discipline has a problem with pride and will never learn very much. But a person that has a teachable spirit will never stop learning and therefore never stop GrOwing!

  28. wanting to learn or be taught is the willingness to accept correction and to learn from others.
a person who refuses correction is letting there pride control them.
this person is unlikely to learn much.
a wise mean accepts correction but a foolish man leans on his own pride and understanding.
    wise men accept correction.

    or your flat out STUPID.

  29. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

Tonight I will come to the house of the lord seeking wisdom and knowledge as the word is preached and spoken or taught. My ears are open and my spirit is open as well. When you go with a closed spirit, don’t be rebellious that is wrong we need to receive what is spoken. Thank you Jesus!

  30. 12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.

  31. The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious. In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
    Proverbs 12:27‭-‬28 KJV
    http://bible.com/1/pro.12.27-28.KJV

Those that are lazy will never seen that which they need. The diligent shall seek the path to salvation. Man what a chapter; showed me the difference of where I was to where I am now. I was lazy: a lot of which was I just didn’t care. Now it’s a new day; a new beginning. Thank you Jesus for bringing me up from the valley of the slothful.

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

  32. “The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God will see you through your trials. He will be with you. When there is trouble, you will make it through

  33. 22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

As young children we are taught not to lie. To tell the truth no matter the cost. Yet, why do we seem to lose this trait as we get older? Is it we believe in the lie rather than the truth?

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

Yet, as we learn from John 8, that the truth will set you free.

  34. 4 A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.

Noble- having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals.

In my walk with God I have seen so many anointed, gifted men of God that are not doing Gods will due to their wives. I have seen the struggle that some men have because their wife doesn’t want to give it their all to God due to whatever reason. Being in ministry with my husband I have learned that I am that backbone to him. He can’t do it without me and I can’t do this without him. We are team!!! I love doing ministry with my husband!! I love the ministry that God has called us to do!!! I always pray for my FIRE to never decrease but to ALWAYS increase!! Yes ministry is not easy but It’s something beautiful and Worth It!!! Jesus don’t let me be a decay for my husband but a crown to him. I will not be the cause for my husband to not do Gods will!!!

  35. “To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. The Lord approves of those who are good, but he condemns those who plan wickedness.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A person who loves instruction grows into a very smart person. I believe part of the instruction meant there is instruction in right living. We are eager to learn God’s ways and we quickly see sins in our life and repent. The greatest knowledge that we can have is to know God and his Word. A good man is seeking to please God instead of himself. The Lord is pleased with this. A wicked man is always trying to figure out ways to do evil.

  36. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

  37. “In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
http://bible.com/1/pro.12.28.kjv The way if the lord is life. But the way if sin is death and to follow in the steps of evil is as in showing your death.

  38. I Love To Worship The Lord
Wow so many of the positive scriptures reminds us of our Pastor and Sis Watts vs 27
A lazy man wont even dress the game he gets while hunting but the diligent man makes good use of everything e finds

  39. When you consider the list of contrasts between the righteous and the wicked, there is only one possible conclusion to anyone who would not follow after righteousness: ‘The way of a fool is right in his own eyes…’ That one verse sums it up so well. It is perhaps a stark contrast in the context of the proverb and may even seem obvious, but consider the rest of the Bible. Why would anyone who actually took the time to read it not follow after its ways?

The sinner still in the world can perhaps be attributed to ignorance. That ignorance won’t save them and they are still without excuse in the mind of God, but what about those who call themselves Christians and yet choose to ignore what they’ve read? Those who see the many examples of those with the same mindset who fell by the wayside and yet still believe their life is fine. Why would they want any interference from something they’ve decided is trivial to their walk today. Stop and consider that: your thoughts versus God’s Word, which one is going to prevail?

My desire is not justify my ways, my desire is to be led in his ways! My life may be far different than when I came into the church but in comparison to his righteousness, it is still just another set of filthy rags. Let me continually seek to follow after his righteousness because ‘In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.’

  40. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
If we always go against instruction and those that reproof us then we will never grow or get knowledge to do things. We will always stay the same because if our stubbornness.

  41. Hannah: “1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. 2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.” Hearken to the voice of the word and open your heart. He will take you to new deminsions and bring further than you ever could have imagined. Don’t listen to the foolish because they will only turn your around and make you stumble. Instead listen to the wise men of God and the man and women of God in your life. They will lead and guide you in the right direction. God will not forsake you and he has a lot in store for you to receive as you grow in him. His ways are higher than ours, so never doubt what the Lord is doing. He is always going to be there to strengthen and guide you so open your heart and listen and do what the Lord tells you.

  42. 17He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

17An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies.-NIV

    Proverbs 6:19
A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

    Proverbs 12:16
A fool’s anger is known at once, But a prudent man conceals dishonor.

    Proverbs 12:18
There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

    Proverbs 14:5
A trustworthy witness will not lie, But a false witness utters lies.

    Zechariah 8:16
‘These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.

He that speaketh truth showeth forth righteousness,…. He that “blows” or “breathes out truth” (d), as the word signifies; that utters it freely and fully without any hesitation; that speaks nothing but tr

  43. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

This could of been part of the preaching tonight. It is wise to listen to council. All night I was thinking about a plaque that was is my Dads office growing up that I wish I had.
    It said:
A wise man learns from his mistakes,
A wiser man learns from others mistakes,
But the wisest man learns from others successes.
The wisdom that you get from listening to wise council is much easier than learning the hard way. At some point in life you would think you would be tired of learning the hard way and start listening to someone. The school of hard knocks doesn’t have a graduate program. They are called survivors.

  44. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
This last verse of this proverb is very encouraging, because no matter how hard it may seem to get or how difficult it may be to change to the way God wants you to be, “in the way of righteousness is life”. Truly broad is the way way and wide is the gate that leadeth to destruction and narrow is the way and straight is the gate that leadeth unto life! God is light and in him is no darkness at all! Truly if we are living righteous and living with God in our everyday lives,  He will be that light to show us the straight and narrow way to life! He can guide us and direct us each and every day! We just have to let Him have His way in our lives! Praise the Lord for His mighty acts! for His mercy endureth forever!

  45. 4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

A virtuous women is a righteous women and servant of God. She cares for the house of God and the house she has been blessed of Him to have. She honors her husband and is submitted unto him. She hates the appearance of evil and the schemes he tries to attack her family with. She is a loyal wife and a loving mother. A wise woman builds up her house and a foolish tears hers down. The foolish woman not only shames her husband but sins against God. The world today tries to neutralize the roles of God with equalization like he has designed the head and the help meet. When we stay in our place God will bless us.

  46. The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.(Proverbs 12:5 KJV)

The thoughts of a righteous man are constantly focused on Jesus and his purpose. He wants us to deal justly and truly with God and with men. This is why its so important to have many wise counselors speaking into our lives.

  47. v28 In the way of righteousness is life,
And in its pathway there is no death.

Righteousness is a way of life. Righteousness will keep one out of situations and places that tend to death.
The righteous will inherit eternal life and forever triumphant over death.

  48. 14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.

What is coming from your mouth? Is it for blessing or harm? We can speak life or we can destroy with what we say. A righteous man will speak life and truth that will bless his life and those around him.

  49. 26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

What’s right is right, there is no substitute to righteousness. Make up in your mind if your going to live right for God, it’s pleasing to God to follow his commands.

  50. 13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

Lips beware of what you say!!!

  51. 23The wise don’t make a show of their knowledge, but fools broadcast their foolishness.

We all know someone who falls under this category, the “one who knows it all”. I have some at work, who love to hear themselves speak about what they know. They always have a story to top your story. Instead of listening of what others are saying, the want to be the center of attention. Its better to listen and speak as needed.

  52. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

May I have and listen to those that give me good counsel. Too many people do what is right in their own eyes. May I not be one of them. Rather instead do what is right in God’s eyes

  53. Proverbs 12:25 (English Amp) Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But an encouraging word makes it glad. Psalm 50:4 He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that He may judge His people. Proverbs 15:13 (English Amp) A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance,But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken. Ask God for deliverance of Anxiety . Having stress can harm you. Cry out to God he will make you feel better as he cleans up your heart.

  54. 18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

“Sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Well that was a lie. No matter how many times we said it as we were being mocked or ridiculed or attached with words, we would walk away wounded, distraught, and broken.

Many wise words with time can build something beautiful, but one evil word can destroy years or progress!

I think that’s why we have 2 ears and only one mouth, so we can listen twice as much as we speak.
