Proverbs 21

The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.

11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.

12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.

13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.

21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?

28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

  2. This verse is talking about an area I need some work at! We don’t always choose our words wisely!

23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

    “Don’t want any trouble!”……….

  3. 9 It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home.

19 It’s better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife. NLT

I’m so thankful that God blessed me with a great wife and I don’t have to live alone in the corner of an attic or in the desert!

  5. 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

Anybody can get up and comb their hair and brush their teeth, but safety is in prayer, safety is seeking Gods face first daily. It’s hard because your spirit is willing but your flesh is weak. I promise you his though after a week or two of praying be seeking Jesus…you won’t be able to Go back to the old mornings of eggs and bacon. Ask the Lord to lead your day and have the reigns.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus

  7. WHICH WAY TO GO

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

It is extremely unwise and dangerous to make decisions based only on how I feel about it. In my eyes it may be the right thing, the right way and the right time. However, reality may prove it to be different. This is where accountability and submission play such a large role in my life.

Refusing to seek the counsel of elders or the covering of Pastor is an arrogant way to approach the spiritual and supernatural. Most often there is a proud heart somewhere in the decision process.

Another opportunity for the heart to be arrogant is when we make decisions that draw attention to ourselves. It is a heart issue and pride that causes a man to seek to be in the spotlight always. GOD knows the motive behind our decisions. If our choices cause us to bring attention to ourselves. GOD knows, if our choices are sincerely for ministry and to benefit others. GOD knows.

WHICH WAY TO GO must come from and through the LORD JESUS. He is the way maker, and the one who orders my steps.

Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

WHICH WAY TO GO is always and only found in walking with JESUS.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

    Lets GO!

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  8. iLove to Go Blog
Proverbs 21:16 NLT The person who strays from common sense will end up in the company of the dead.
Wow, it is very necessary to have common sense. I’m not sure if they teach common sense in school any more, but folks really need it. This chapter gives insight into all kinds of wisdom, and we would be wise to follow it.

    com·mon sense
    ˌkämən ˈsens/Submit
    noun
good sense and sound judgment in practical matters.
    “use your common sense”
synonyms: good sense, sense, native wit, sensibleness, judgment, levelheadedness, prudence, discernment, canniness, astuteness, shrewdness, wisdom, insight, perception, perspicacity; More

  9. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

We must be careful that our heart doesn’t deceitfully trick us into believing that we are doing right and seek God to examine our intentions and motivations.

  10. 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.

25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

  11. 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

23 He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity

  12. People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. Haughty eyes, a proud heart, and evil actions are all sin.
    Proverbs 21:2‭, ‬4 NLT
We can fool people all the time but the Lord examine our hearts he knows what we are thinking and know the real you so yes you can play games know you

  13. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

We can say all the right things, look the part and still in the heart of man things are not right, and that is what the Lord judges. Our heart reveals who and what we truly are. Those that struggle with holiness revealed on the outside have issues of the heart with their relationship with the Lord. Likewise those that struggle with issues with the heart, maybe looking right on outside, but inside is as ugly as can be, have heart/relationship issues with the Lord. If we get our heart right, everything else will all into place and our attitude of “have to” will turn to “get to with joy.”

  14. 5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty. (NLT)

It’s important to plan and seek the advice of elders in our lives. We plan and we made choices, but we must always be flexible and willing to lay aside our own plans for God. He orders our steps. We cannot take shortcuts and miss out on any of those steps He has planned for us. Take a short cut He didn’t plan and you could be robbing yourself of something great.

  15. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Sometimes we think we are great, doing good! But its then when we get complacent, and we get comfortable and we slack off, I cant afford to do that, I think that at that time our view is marred and we think we are ok, God dont judge us according to how much or how long we pray, if we do the blog or read, study the word! He judges our hearts and what is the condition of it when we are doing the blog, and studying the word, or praying or what is our motive! He wants us to serve him with our whole heart not half hearted! Help me Lord to do everything that I do with my heart sold out to you and not halfheartedly!

  16. Proverbs 21
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

In thee Oh Lord do I put my trust. there is no on like You. I will lean into You for you are the joy of my salvation. There is safety and refuge in You. Your presence brings peace in the midst of chaos and trouble. You are a present help in the time of trouble. I will delight in You. You are the peace giver and you will guard my heart and my mind. There is light in You there is nothing too hard for You. Yes in You there is safety. And in You I will abide.

The Joy of The Lord is my Strength

  17. 21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

It is following the ways of God, hearing the word and being a doer of the word that brings true life. Anyone can live their life their way, but what will the end result be if it wasn’t God’s ways.

  18. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

People can find an excuse to make anything they want to do “right”, but God looks past the excuses and at the motives of the heart. When making decisions first ask yourself “would God be pleased with this decision?” If the answer is no, then you shouldn’t be doing it.

  19. It may seem that so many in the world may oppose our doctrine and way of life and that we are rowing upstream as they press against us. It may seem that effort is always required to make any headway and sometimes perhaps it is even true in our situation. But when we consider what is arrayed against us, it is always good to remember that ‘There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord. The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.’ Regardless of what may seem to oppose me, I know who is on my side. I’ll do my part to be prepared while still recognizing that it is his hand that provides the covering upon my life. It is his hand that gives me strength. It is his voice that matters most even when it may seem that so many voices are lifted against his way. His way, His will, His word, His call, it’s always about Jesus! And there is no wisdom in their opposition, none of their counsel against God will prevail, they lack even a basic understanding of who God is, so as for me and my house we will continue to serve the Lord! Just like that old time hymn, Victory is mine!

  20. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

We must be careful not to make decisions based on our own thoughts or belief systems, we should instead seek the counsel and direction of almighty God in our conduct. We must remember that God judges the heart and our hearts motives and intentions should be checked with every decision we make.

  21. Proverbs 21:1-2 MSG

God examines our motives-Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses.

We justify our actions by appearances; God examines our motives.

  22. No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord .
    Proverbs 21:30 NLT

This is why we need to pray before we make plans and life goals. We need to have ourselves aligned with God’s purpose.

  23. 26 Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!

Today’s society, so many have the free mentality of always receiving, and never giving. They want something without having earned it. Its funny, the unrighteous seem to believe that Christians don’t give, but we give the most than any other group. Having a caring and serving attitude, it will be easy to give no matter what the purpose is for.

  24. We may see things as being just fine, but we must ask ourselves what does the word of God say about it. Every time we try to interpret things our way and not according to what the God gives us, we will go down the wrong path. We can’t put how we feel in the way of what God is trying to reveal to us. This is why it is important to know the voice of God, this way when another voice begins to speak, we can tune it out.

  25. Josiah: 27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
“how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?” Yes, it is good to give and obey the Lord by paying tithes and giving an offering. It is good to offer our time and labor for good things. If we do not GO do these things with a good mindset would God be happy? You may do the right thing, for the right cause, at the right time but, if you do it with a bad attitude or spirit you might as well not do it. The Bible says “The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination:” When it continues to expound upon this the word reads “how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?” Containing and cherishing a Christian spirit is key when we sow into the kingdom of God. So, let us GO SOW and work while showing and having a GOOD SPIRIT that our sacrifice of time and talent may be holy an acceptable unto God!

  26. “The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; he guides it wherever he pleases. People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭21:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  27. 28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.

30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

  28. Proverbs 21:13 NLT
[13] Those who shut their ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in their own time of need.

  29. The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him,
because his hands refuse to work.

    Sluggers-a lazy, sluggish person.
Wow!!! As a Pentecostal we can’t let laziness creep into our lives because it’s easy to not do anything, not worry about anything, sleep in, not care about anything but this doesn’t please God!!! If we are lazy we will refuse to Work for Gods Kingdom!!! We can’t expect for lazy people to work! I have seen it many times how a lazy people not only destroying their lives but destroying their families lives. God doesn’t want us to be lukewarm but to be on FIRE for HIM!!! He can’t use us if we are lazy and not willing to work! I rebuke that spirit from my life Jesus!!! Help me to always push, be on FIRE, and never be cold Jesus!!!

  30. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

It’s so dangerous to make life decisions based totally on feeling any emotions. We must counsel and direction from the man of God that God has given us to lead and direct us. I thank God that He has given me a wonderful man of God that will direct me to the Word of God and seek God in prayer.

  31. Hopeless preparation for an unknown adversary

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

You cannot prepare for the unknown. You can prepare your horse for battle all you want but he will buck at the unknown sound as soon as he hears it. We should prepare for the battle but not forsake the voice of the Lord. God is not suprised by the circumstances that surprise us in our lives and if we always keep our spiritual ears open to hear the voice of God he will warn us of what may be creeping around the corner. Using our wisdom is good but using His wisdom is much better.

  32. It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Arguments are terrible. They don’t just effect those in the argument. They also effect the people in close proximity to it. Your proximity makes you either choose to get closer or run away. Often people allow themselves to get drawn in by the drama of an argument and then they begin to pick side and the whole thing is blown out of proportion. If the kids are fighting, sometimes there is just not enough house (like a long argumentative road trip).

  33. 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

…one simple word to this great verse full of wisdom: Amen! Sometimes it is just wise to keep our opinions and our words and just ponder. We do not have to throw in our 2 cents on everything that is shared or talked about.

  34. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

  35. v31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
ONLY GOD IS able to protect us.HE IS OUR ONLY PROTECTION
All human efforts at defense are in vain.
    Psalms20:7;4-8

  36. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Everyone has there own thoughts, emotions, and desires, but they may not always be in the right place, for God knows all things so he will k ow if our hearts are right. I pray that I would have Gods heart and eyes to see and feel like he does so I can be more Christ like every day.

  37. 25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.

If the slothful were to put the same effort they put into there wishful thinking into actually working, he would accomplish great things.

  38. 2. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. 3. To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. Praise ye the LORD !!!!

  39. 15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.

  40. People in relationships know that maintaining harmony and the ideal of “oneness” 24 hours a day is impossible. But Solomon has a much greater challenge than the average person. He has not just one wife, but 700 along with 300 concubines! (1Ki 11:3). His frustration with those who are hard to get along with is palpable in Proverbs 19:13 where he compares a quaralsome wife with “a constant dripping.” While it may appear that he is picking on a woman, his statements that it’s better to live outside the palace or out in the desert (vs 19) than in the luxury with with a contentious wife simply reflect a general truth. There’s nothing worse than strife at home no matter who creates it. Home is the place God intends us to enjoy peace, intimacy and safety.

  41. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

May I not be right in my own eyes, but constantly reaching out and checking my ways against, his word and correcting myself to be right in his ways. That my heart would be pleasing to the Lord and the he mold it to the shape of his will.
