Proverbs 26
1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.
4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
7 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
8 As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
9 As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.
10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.
15 The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
17 He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
18 As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
19 So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
21 As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
23 Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
24 He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
25 When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
The POFW Daily Bible Reading 
You don’t have to argue with things with people definitely if it’s not your fight
Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are. Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools, or they will become wise in their own estimation. Interfering in someone else’s argument is as foolish as yanking a dog’s ears.
Proverbs 26:4-5, 17 NLT
Don’t answer to a foolish person I learn they are only trying to see what you will do or say don’t get you yourself in a foolish argument because that that happen is you showing you’re so that you don’t have control
Verse 4 MSG “Don’t respond to the stupidity of a fool; you’ll only look foolish yourself. Same verse CEV “Don’t make a fool of yourself by answering a fool.” 2 Timothy 2:16 NLT says “Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior.” 2 Timothy 2:23-26 NLT “Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.”
Verse 22 NLT “Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart.” Proverbs 20:19 AMP says “He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets;
Therefore do not associate with a gossip [who talks freely or flatters].” Psalm 15:1-3 AMP says “O Lord, who may lodge [as a guest] in Your tent? Who may dwell [continually] on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity and strength of character, and works righteousness, And speaks and holds truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;”.

5) Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
A fool has silly questions and only want to argue their point. Don’t stoop to their level of thinking and argue with them, for if you do, you become like them.
On the other hand, when we do answer them, do it so it challenges their line of thinking “lest they be wise in their own conceit” and think their reasoning is sound.
As my Bishop back in Illinois used to say, “Answer a question with a question.”

Stack up on fire wood, for Holy Ghost season is around the corner. You need wood for your fire that is down in your soul. Without the wood (word) how are you going to be lit up? How doth a young man cleanse his ways? By taking head to thine word. The word is here to taw care of us and build us up, not to be boring or to just be there. Thank you Jesus

I love how these scriptures seem to be easily misconstrued and thought to be contradictory, when really they go hand in hand. Simply put…don’t argue with fools cause u’ll look just like them but say something and make ur point otherwise he will just believe he is right. I love a good debate, an informed discussion but not one of foolish contention

Trying to talk to this generation about obtaining a hard work ethic is quite a challenge. Seven choice men can go to one individual to reveal to him his present
folly and he would simply roll over on hisbed to get some more sleep. We need a break through and we need some hard workers for the Kingdom of God!

The creator we all know his name is Jesus, will reward the foolish people sinners, the righteous people. Whether you are good or bad everyone will be judged and spend their eternity in heaven or hell. This is why we should always make sure we are ready at all times because we dont want too be caught unaware. I f we missed heaven we missed it all.
God delivered us out of a mighty long way! How can I forget what you done for me!

While the later part of this verse is dealing with gossip, the first part grabbed my attention. Where there is no wood (fuel/nourishment), the fire (energy/life) goes out. If we do not feed ourselves we will starve. When we are starving, we are likely to consume anything, whether good for us or not. The same applies to our soul. If we starve ourselves spiritually, we will entertain anything. We must feed ourselves with the Word of the Lord. Not only our daily blog but we need to have a personal regimen of reading and studying for ourselves.
Slothful Men & Women
13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
Here we see the word lion twice yet they are two different words. The first lion is the word Shachal- meaning to roar; a lion (from his characteristic roar).
The Second “lion” mentioned in this one verse is the word
ariy- (in the sense of violence) a young lion,
Each word are charcteristics of the very things that will hinder a slothful man from fulfilling the plan of God on his/ her life. Yet 1Peter 5:8-10 says:
“8Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering. 10And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you.”
We should not be afraid of the roaring lion because “the God of all grace, who has called us to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore us, secure us, strengthen us, and establish us.”
Proverbs 34:10
The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
We do not have to fear the young lion because “those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
Father, we thank you for Your love and Your grace. Teach us to be sober minded and alert in all things concerning Your Kingdom. This morning we put on the whole armor of God that we may stand against the tactics of the enemy who is trying to destroy our lives, homes, and region. We declare and decree peace into the nation and our homes. We declare that You shall restore, secure, strengthen, and establish us as we faithfully obey Your call. We thank You that as we daily seek You, You have promised that we will lack for no good thing. In JESUS Name, Amen!
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
This verse really deals with intentions and motives. If you dig a pit to put others in you will be the one to fall into that pit. If you try to roll a stone on someone to hurt them or maybe to block them from succeeding in what they are striving to do God will make sure that comes back on you. Thats why its important to strive to be a blessing to those around you and not to try to harm others.

Once we have been delivered from sin we must maintain our salvation. We must not foolish with our salvation. Whatever the cost we must be saved. Search me OH Lord! Deliver me from all evil and deliver me from myself.

I think that people like to stir up trouble, and sometimes people just tend to say what they want to to make another feel what pain they feel, If someone is your friend and someone says something about your friend, shouldn’t we keep it to ourselves, because all its gonna do is cause unnecessary hurt for your friend and the friend is going to get upset and that will and can cause strif, sometimes gossip taste good coming out of our mouths, but have we considered what it feels like going in anothers ears, or how it makes them feel when they are by themselves, especially if it pertains in part to them! So what should we do when someone is gossiping about someone gossiping about you, PRAY, especially if you examine your self and you see that you haven’t gossiped and you know that its not true what they are saying about you! We have to pray because we dont want anger or bitterness to set in! It hurts but we can grow from it!
20 For lack of wood the fire goes out, And where there is no whisperer [who gossips], contention quiets down.

A heated disagreement. Have you ever heard someone say “that makes my blood boil”?. A contention is like a fire, it burns relationships. This is why it is fatal to not listen to the gossip, as it fuels the fire. Yet, we should be Peace Makers, and spread the Love of God! That the Holy Ghost Fire will consume us instead!

a “shred”, i.e., anything severed, as a fragment of earthenware.
Think about this: a potsherd is a broken earthenware vessel. So would that make a gossiper a broken spirit that is trying to get attention any way they can; or somebody that maybe reaching for help to get away from a situation. In most cases that I have witnessed: it has been somebody wanting all the attention. That person is pouring out this filth. Why; mostly it’s jealousy, but it can also be envy. Jealousy and envy have torn families apart; it has torn churches apart. What we say and do has to be guarded; there are those that would love to come in and tear the relationships apart that have been built. Guard yourself from this; the body is stronger together and that is what we need. GO and be free of the bondage of gossip. What God has built up: let no man tear down.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord .

Josiah: 22 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
There is numerous routes to inflicting damage into persons. Contrarily, humans also possess the power to try to win things over to God. As people power comes not because of us however, God can dwell among and within ourselves. Words are weapons while being tools. To use these nastily (weapon) our reputation might be known with evil, deceit, gossip and worse souls line of sight would not look at us as a light. Though as time ticks round with all the while the POFW stubbornly refusing to let the light in us to have cover, our testimony will be vastly different. Souls who were at a time dwelling among this darkness of the world can know have a light and a path that is in their horizon. So, let us GO be a CHRISTIAN EXAMPLE and LIGHT so that souls can be saved and not be a talebearer who gossips!
Three major points I got from this chapter: don’t be a fool, don’t be lazy, and guard your ears. A fool and a lazy person don’t listen to who they’re supposed to. They only go as far as needed to find someone who agrees with them so they can continue to be foolish and lazy. This is why the end of the chapter gives examples of how disastrous gossiping, lying, and deceiving words can be. We must guard ourselves from people who speak such things. Know who and what you allow into your spirit. Seek the truth and don’t involve yourself with such foolish acts.
HATE DEMONSTRATED BY LIES
28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
Being lied to is painful, being lied on is even more painful. According to the WORD of GOD, a lie on or a lie to someone affects both the same. The author, speaker, originator of the lie has hate toward those that he lies to or on. Often this hate is covered up by flattering words of deceit.
Dishonest is a nature that as children we seemed to learn all by ourselves.
Did you say?
NO is our answer when we know we said it.
Did you do?
NO is our answer when we know we did it.
Are you sleepy?
NO is our answer as we fell asleep.
These seeming simple lies begin to weaken our own character and devalue our own self worth, because we are not honest with ourselves. However the deepest demonstration of hate is when a lie is manufactured to someone or about someone and double hate is revealed when a lie is told to someone about someone.
JESUS is TRUTH and lies have no place in HIS Kingdom. Consider the facts of every word we speak, type or text.
Most often a lie is to cover up something deeper. We learn this from Adam and Eve in the Garden.
Genesis 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Adam lied to GOD to cover up a greater evil.

If you want your message reach it’s destination intact and in it’s original form, you must be careful how you send it.
Don’t try to deliver eggs on a pogo stick.
“Trusting a fool to convey a message is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison!

Pit: a large deep hole from which stones and minerals are dug
Have you ever heard the phrase “you’re digging your own grave”? It’s typically said by a friend to someone who is either saying something they shouldn’t be or lying, knowing the truth is bound to come out. Basically they’re digging a pit that only they can fall in. And as we can see from the definition, that stones come from the pit. So when falling into this pit only by our own mistakes, we, by human nature, start casting stones to take others down with us. We can avoid all of this by simply praying before we open our mouth and steering away from lying behavior.

Sometimes you just can’t reason with a person. Nothing you can say will change their mind because they have it all figured out. It’s a waste of your breath when you see they are determined to continue in their own way. You notice this person is called a sluggard which is a habitually lazy person. You can be lazy in the physical as well as the spiritual.
MSG 5 Answer [and correct the erroneous concepts of] a fool according to his folly, Otherwise he will be wise in his own eyes [if he thinks you agree with him].
Silence is acceptance, if we don’t correct lovingly those that striving to be like Jesus when they act like a fool, then we are just as guilty. On the flip side if we don’t receive correction when we are acting a fool then we just examine our hearts. Who are we trying to be like? Christlike character shows integrity, honest as well as other characteristics.
24 Enemies disguise themselves with their lips,
but in their hearts they harbor deceit.
Don’t be deceived by people who have wickedness in their heart, just try and show them how you can help them find what God has for them!
He who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a dog by the ears. Mind your own business. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

These two scriptures caught my attention, because they seem to contradict each other, One says not to answer lest you become like him. Another says to answer lest he becomes wise in his own conceit. The only thing that comes to mind, is not to argue with an idiot, because they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. So What I got from this (correct me if I am wrong) is that if you meet a fool in his folly, do not argue, debate or rebuke him. But give an answer according to his folly. That will correct them and show the foolishness of their way and leave it at that. May God give me the wisdom to apply these scriptures righty.

There are some fights we need not to fight. Or simply we should just mind our own business. We can be in trouble that was not any of yours.
26 Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
God knows the intention of the heart. Seek God in all of his ways for the truth will find you out be wise.

Growing up with wood heat was tough, and waking up with the fire out was even worst. If you just enough embers in there you could get it back started. Everyone complained when they woke up cold and it was always up to the man to get started up again. No one ever wanted to put wood on the fire in the middle of the night though it’s a FLESH thing. “I’m just gonna walk past this empty fireplace and pretend it’s full”. That’s the wrong attitude to have because let me tell you….it can be difficult trying to get a fire started up again, rather than keeping it going.
Don’t let your FIRE go out or even get close it’s easier to keep it going with the word, praying, and fasting. We can’t afford to try and stay warm with only embers…

Don’t let your fire go out. Keep the fire going through reading, prayer, and fasting. Know that God is still God. Don’t let your fire of the holy ghost go out. We must actively keep it lit. Keep the holy ghost alive inside of you.

It is our job to spread the Gospel not to be involved in arguments or gossip that spreads strife and discord. We must be in unity to advance the kingdom.
18 Just as damaging as a madman shooting a deadly weapon 19 is someone who lies to a friend and then says, “I was only joking.”
The person will say “I was only joking” when they are caught in a lie. They try to laugh it off as nothing. But the trust is broken, and now they are no longer considered a friend. Friends are to ones you can talk too, have trust in, and confide in. The only true friend is Jesus, through prayer!
A person that does not want to work will come up with a million excuses to avoid it. The less you do, the less you want to do, and the more useless you become.

GOD HIMSELF takes note of ones disregard and rebellion against HIM,and will surely reward appropriately.
This chapter shows us the importance of putting God first. If we continue to put him first we can keep ourselves from falling into a bad situation. God is the strength of our life.
Fools
There are several types of fools referred to in the book of Proverbs- from the naive or simpleminded to the shameless and contemptible. The fool referred to in these verses is one who is obtuse, insensible and even averse to the truth. Such people must be controlled by force, like animals (vs 3) for example policemen use battons, tazers or handcuff on perpetrators and MHMR patients are therapeutically and medicinally detained. When people get out of control they can’t be reasoned with or trusted; wisdom is useless to them and honor is wasted on them (vs 1). They are likely to behave as know-it-alls, high on their own list but low on everyone else’s. They don’t learn from their mistakes but repeat them over and over. A fool is one to read these verses and deny they have a problem; therefore the wisdom here is for those who have contact with fools. In order to operate wisely in relationships, we need to discern with whom we are dealing and act accordingly (vs 4-5).
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.(Proverbs 26:11 CEV)
A fool returns to his sin that he committed time after time. Many times the wicked man turns to his wickedness because they haven’t made up in their mind to completely turn away. A wise man turns away from sin in repentance and hates the appearance of sin when he sees it again.

We are not fully covered by Jesus when we speak lies. Let’s be honest and speak truth. Lies can hurt and tear relationships apart.
If the importance of humility is not apparent, consider the words of this proverb. ‘Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.’ When we’re not willing to listen, when we’ve decided that we know more than anyone around us, when the voice of those who used to influence our life fall upon dear ears, we are in serious straights. I’ve heard it said the likelihood of a fool succeeding is somewhere close to the likelihood of finding a cache of snow next to the lake of fire to cool you off. And a man lost in his own conceit is said to be worse off… regardless of his talent or intellect.
Just like everything else in our walk with God, we have to recognize that it is not about us. The Bible even instructs us to prefer our brethren higher than ourselves. It didn’t give a stipulation about ability or knowledge or position, because it is the mindset that is important. The mindset that recognizes that in the midst of many counselors, there is wisdom. The mindset of humility that is willing to listen to what others have to say even when you think you already know. The willingness to listen with the intent to be influenced!

If you do not listen to gossip, then you are not allowing it to grow and pass onto another. It is so much better to have a reputation that shows one who is not easily swayed by gossip, one who will take the time to discern a matter, one who has integrity andcan be trusted. It is always easier to take on the things of God when you are not consuming yourself with the things of this carnal world.

I see so many people that I know and love that are outside the Church that live life by “their terms” and it’s like everything they touch fails. Nothing well works in their favor. I use to be one of those people.
What have we brought upon ourselves by living a life that was given to us in a manner that doesn’t come close to fulfilling the full potential of what it was created for?
“Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.”

Don’t add fuel to the fire. Be the wet blanket that puts the fire out. Keep you mouth closed and don’t give in to gossip. It will leave you because there is no wood for the fire to burn.
