Proverbs 29

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.

10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.

14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.

15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.

17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.

20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.

22 An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.

25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.

27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

  1. Verse 18 MSG “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.” Same verse KJV “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

Psalm 19:7-9 MSG “The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes. God’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions of God are accurate down to the nth degree.”

Psalm 119: 98-104 MSG “Oh, how I love all you’ve revealed; I reverently ponder it all the day long. Your commands give me an edge on my enemies; they never become obsolete. I’ve even become smarter than my teachers since I’ve pondered and absorbed your counsel. I’ve become wiser than the wise old sages simply by doing what you tell me. I watch my step, avoiding the ditches and ruts of evil so I can spend all my time keeping your Word. I never make detours from the route you laid out; you gave me such good directions. Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking. With your instruction, I understand life; that’s why I hate false propaganda.”

  2. Proverbs 29:6
“In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.”

When a person transgresses (disobeys and breaks the Law (Word of God)), he is then ensnared by the devil and taken captive by him at his will. But a righteous person (who seeks repentance and forgiveness of God and lives according to God’s Law (Word of God)), he is Set Free and can Sing and Rejoice in the LORD.

    GO Sing
    GO Rejoice

  3. 1 A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed -without remedy.

11 A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control

  4. Proverbs 29

So much wisdom in this chapter.
Sometimes just remaining silent is the best choice. It allows you to hear from God and to absorb what is being taught to you. Life has ways of teaching you many lessons. We can either be a fool or be wise with what we have learned. I hope I choose wisely.

  5. 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

If we aren’t aiming for a goal, we aren’t going anywhere. I was taught in my early 20s that if your not learning your dying. There are many angle to look at this scripture, and they all say the same thing. To view the bigger picture, to reach for more, to aspire to for the big things. If we were not qualified to teach this city, God would not have placed us here to do so… God gave our Bishop this vision to reach and thus we are under the same calling. We need more of us involved in this vision and aspire to see it otherwise we are wasting our times on Earth.

  6. 23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

For those who are full of pride they allow themselves to be put in a position were God will judge them and bring them low. I remember a man of God saying we should fall on the rock in humility vs. the rock crushing us. We should humble ourselves before the Lord or he will humble us. When we humble ourselves we put ourselves in position to be blessed and promoted.

  7. Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety.
    Proverbs 29:25 NLT
When we allow Jesus to be Lord of our lives that shows a great amount of trust. When we worry more about what others think than our Lord, that can get us into very bad situation. This mentality becomes bondage. We must keep our eyes and hearts on Him and delight in His ways.

  8. 16 When evil people are free to flourish, sin is on the rise, but the just will surely see their destruction.

27 The right-living are disgusted by the actions of the unjust; likewise, the wicked are disgusted by the ways of the righteous.

It’s disgusting to see how evil has been allowed to flourish to a point that so many people feel free to practice their evil in public with no regard to order, decency, or other people’s rights.
We must pray for them that they turn to Jesus or things will only get worse and they will meet their destruction as declared in God’s Word.

  9. “The man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but if he hangs around with prostitutes, his wealth is wasted.

Evil people are trapped by sin, but the righteous escape, shouting for joy. The godly care about the rights of the poor; the wicked don’t care at all. Mockers can get a whole town agitated, but the wise will calm anger.

The bloodthirsty hate blameless people, but the upright seek to help them.

Discipline your children, and they will give you peace of mind and will make your heart glad.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:3, 6-8, 10, 17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  10. GO WITH VISION

18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Vision is a buzz word in ministry. We are taught, challeged and encouraged to dream and see things that are not as though they were. We are instructed to speak to mountains, storms and infirmities to be moved, still and gone.

In our own sense each of us are dreamers. We can name places we would like to visit, live, or see. We could all list some items that we would like to posses or things we would like to do. These dreams/visions make up our life here on earth, the temporal life, we are challenged and encouraged to work toward these visions and we invest our lives in preparing or working toward these visions.

The word VISION in verse 18 is similar to what I have described above. However we are cautioned that if we are not following an eternal VISION we will perish and the perish on this cause is eternal.

A VISISON is more than a dream in this passage. We can dream all day long and never get out of bed. The “I WISH” factory is in our mind. However, the word VISION has more to do with REVELATION than dreaming.

    VISION – 2377. chazown, khaw-zone´; a sight (mentally), i.e. a dream, revelation, or oracle:—vision.

What is JESUS saying, this is the VISION we are all here on earth to reveal. Simply stated, without this VISION people persish. The latter part of the verse indicate that the Proverb is speaking of the WORD and or WORDS of GOD. We are most BLESSED when we follow and obey the WORD of GOD. Whether written, inspired, preached or revealed. We are HAPPY when we are fulfilling the will of GOD.

  11. 23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

We are the guards of our heart/mind/soul/spirit. We choose what we allow to live there. God hates pride. We must take responsibility to see that we keep a humble spirit at all times.

Everyday I pray God keep me humble, don’t let me think more of myself than I ought. I don’t want any trace of “pride” to be found in my life.

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

  12. iLove to Go Blog

Proverbs 29:3 KJV  Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

Wow…Think about it young men. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Young (and old) men if you are looking at women as eye candy you are spending your substance. What again is substance…it’s faith. Why are you so weak, your losing faith. Stop glancing at strange women! Leave them alone so that you can finally build up some faith and live an overcoming life.

  13. 2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

We need righteousness to rule today. But instead hate and intolerance are being demonstrated. Those who are ungodly are desperate to rule this nation and instigating people to riot. I even read an editorial in a major newspaper touting Satan is good and Christians are responsible for the recent riots. They also want to ban conservative speech on a certain college campus. Wow. We need a righteous leader in this nation now.

  14. 6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

“My dance will crush satan under my feet!” Keep dancing, singing, rejoicing, and praising then you don’t get caught in the snares of sin because you’re to busy lifting up Jesus!

  15. There are so many good principles in Proverbs… it’s a book that should be read often. When it comes to controlling what comes out of your mouth, ‘A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.’ If we’ve ever spoken in the heat of the moment and then regretted it afterwards, this verse is for us. Especially if things have angered, or if the situation appears out of sorts, it’s always worth the time to understand the entirety of the situation before jumping in with a hasty judgment and response.

The verse later in the proverb is a little more direct: ‘Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.’ The Bible declares it is easier to win an entire city that a brother you’ve offended. We need the discipline as Christians to listen before we speak, to take the time to think it through before we speak, and sometimes to stop and pray before we speak so the fruit of his spirit is evident in us. The tongue is a most unruly member of the body.. let it’s testimony demonstrate the transformation that God is doing on the inside! Let it speak with his wisdom and mercy! Let it glorify our God!

  16. 18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
21 If you let people treat you like a doormat, you’ll be quite forgotten in the end.

God I listens for your instruction! I pray that you’ll let me see what you have planned so I may walk on Your path for me! God I stand for your name, that when people see me they will see you and when they hear me they will hear you!

  17. Josiah: 11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
Sometimes we do not need to say anything. We may be right but being an example is more important than being correct. John 13:15 says “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” God did not come to just strive work men. God came to save the lost. When people would not receive Him He would move on. Proverbs 3:30 says “Strive not with a man without cause, it he have done thee no harm.”So, let us GO BE A LIGHT to this world!

  18. 23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

As flesh we want to do things our spirits do not want to do, as in boast and be prideful, but when we receive honor and compliments here and here we can be humble. Being humble brings progress, and the fruit of the spirit , I pray that I would stay humble everyday. Thank you Jesus

  19. 25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
There isn’t surety in the name of Jesus. There is safety in the name of Jesus. We are covered by the blood of Jesus. Blessed is he that trust in the Lord
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus

  20. 3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

This scripture tells not only how to make your father happy, but even further make make him rejoice. That is to love wisdom. So may I love wisdom and hide it in my heart and mind. So that my heavenly father may rejoice in me.

  21. 2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

  22. A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

  23. “The bloodthirsty hate blameless people, but the upright seek to help them.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The bloodthirsty feels terrible guilt when they compare themselves with the right, and they hate the upright. The bloodthirsty love no one but themselves, and they will stop at no lengths to get what they want while the just are always seeking to save a soul, even of this bloodthirsty one.

  24. Proverbs 29:11 (English Amp) A self confident ] fool utters all His anger, But a wise man holds it back and stills it. Truer words couldn’t be said, Its better to listen to them .

  25. The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

Sometimes we judge books by their cover. At one point in my life I sold new Toyota cars. The sales manager taught me to never judge anyone that comes on the lot. Anybody could have the money needed. The first car I sold was to an 18 year old boy. He walked by 3 salesmen before he reached me and I asked him how I could help him. He had a blank check from his grandfather and chose a top of the line 4-Runner.

We must not decide whether a person we meet is too sinful, dirty or undeserving of God’s love. It is not our job to judge. It is our job to share the good news.

  26. 15. The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. 17. Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. 26. Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the LORD. 27. An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked. I BLESS YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST !!!!

  27. 11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

We don’t need to give everybody opinions on everything. It doesn’t make it right to do. Be wise control your tongue.

  28. The secret harlot

3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.

The modern day harlot of someone living a righteous lifestyle is not the blatant nasty sin of adultry or permiscuity. It is something that could sneak in under the radar, something you might not notice with natural eyes. The natural harlot gives you false love in pretending or actions of physical love that lies to your emotions and could somehow give you a moments pleasure or escape. This is exactly how spiritual harlets are. Anything that would pull you away from your first love.
    Rev 2:4
“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.”
‭‭When you let lusts of the flesh take you away from your call to the Kingdom you are dealing with a spiritual harlot. These things deceive you into believing you are somehow happy for a moment but when it is finished you are left empty again. No one finds true happiness in anything you can buy, natural harlot or spiritual harlot.

“Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭23:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

True love is not for sale.

“We love him, because he first loved us.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  29. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. If you are going to be a leader in a country you normally would go through the people’s words ,but back then you would be put in by God or by whoever was the king’s son.So back then the people didn’t get a choice who was king the king might be there to teach you a lesson or they were just ment to be great ,but God put them there so shut up because God put them there.

  30. 11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards

saying nothing can get you further in most situations than blurting out whatever comes to mind. You can vent in private after but don’t start saying things that are going to worsen the situation.

6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

If you’re always playing with snakes they’ll eventually bite you, sending poison through you. The bite would be the pang of guilt the poison being the feeling that you don’t diserve to talk to the same people or hang out with them because you feel like an ex convict, like you just got out of jail and no one will hire you, or you don’t diserve a chance. The snake is the snare, the snare is anything that pulls you into sin.

  31. 10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.

The just seek for the salvation of THE LORD for each and every person regardless of gender, race ,ethnicity and even despite of what state of sin they are in. Love covers multitude of sin……..

  32. 15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

There is a way to correct that is biblical and can honestly spare so many pain and heartache in the long run. I grew up spanked and corrected by my parents not to the point where there is abuse but you learn that there are consequences for bad things. Imagine if we just allow ourselves to do what we wanted when and how…this world would be even more chaotic, no order, and lawless.

  33. 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

3 years ago My family and I almost perished because of the lack of vision. I didn’t know my purpose, Gods will, or anything. I just knew that I had to go to church and well that’s about it!! I was dying spiritually and the devil was destroying my family and Gods will but then God sent us here!!! He sent us here to open our eyes and help us understand the true purpose of His Kingdom!!! I’ve learned to love souls, carry a burden for them, cry for them, carry their pain, laugh with them, but overall lead them to Christ!!! Ministry is not about having a title but about being a servant and doing everything for God!!! Thank you Jesus for sending me here!!!

  34. Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.

It’s all crumbles from the top. The integrity of the leader is crucial. There must be no wavering but all can be lost or destroyed with a simple contamination at the top.

Pray for our leaders and our pastors that meet to be guarded from evil to preserve good within all.

  35. 7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.

8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.

  36. 6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). When you are free you can’t help but be joyful and praise him. He breaks chains and tears down strongholds and when he does we are set free to praise him. Evildoers are too shackled up to move and rejoice. Praising God leads to the breakthrough, all the chains fall off and he strengthens us to overcome.

  37. “If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Quarreling really irritates me. My children do it. I’ve heard my family do it. I’ve caught myself doing it. What real gain do you get from it? Not satisfaction, the other person is usually just angry. Not justification, the other person starts trying to put holes in your reasoning or tunes you out. So the. What do you get? Nothing. You get a bunch of upset people who think that you just want to argue so they don’t really want to talk with you any longer. Arguing about things doesn’t settle problems. Logically talking about and thinking through problems is what causes solutions, that’s wisdom.

  38. 26 Many seek the ruler’s favour; but every man’s judgment cometh from the Lord.

God is our avenger, he’s in control. He sees everything the enemy has done. Trust him with your situation he’ll favor you and bless you when you seek him.

  39. Whoever stubbornly refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be destroyed beyond recovery. The man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but if he hangs around with prostitutes, his wealth is wasted. The bloodthirsty hate blameless people, but the upright seek to help them.
    Proverbs 29:1‭, ‬3‭-‬3‭, ‬10 NLT
    http://bible.com/116/pro.29.1-10.NLT

If you want to grow in God to going to have to be ready for feedback a preson who received feedback is Wise and show that they want to grow more in God it also shows the relationship you have with God but a preson who foolish will throw it all away and get upset about the it
