Proverbs 30

The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.

I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:

Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

10 Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.

11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.

17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

18 There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:

19 The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.

20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

21 For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:

22 For a servant when he reigneth; and a fool when he is filled with meat;

23 For an odious woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

24 There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:

25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;

26 The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;

27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

28 The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.

29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:

30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;

31 A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

33 Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

  1. Characteristics of being exceedingly wise:

The ant: prepares ahead of time.

Rock badger: ingenuity to find a place of security.

Locus: their order and cooperation even though they have no rank.

Spider: easily caught but cannot be prevented from getting into the most significant places

  2. GO READ THE BIBLE EVERYDAY

5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

This is a major reason I blog on this page every single day of my life. The unattainable riches of the knowledge and revelation of GOD are endless. Even if I could quote every single verse, I would still not know all of the WORD of GOD.

I must study to show myself approved, not completed or finished. There is great danger is twisting the WORD of GOD to say what we want HIM to say. If we add to HIS word we will be found the liar. GOD is the author and we cannot correct or change the author.

Every WORD is PURE. This is why all chapters and verses matter to our lives. Whether Old or New Testament “Every WORD” is PURE and is our access to the protection or shield of GOD.

The adversary, the deceiver, the evil one, the devil, satan used the WORD of GOD to deceive Eve and will attempt the same with you and I. We must KNOW GOD through the Power of HIS WORD.

The WORD of GOD tells us that satan is a liar and the father of them. Therefore by his questioning and changing the WORD of GOD in the garden, he was found a liar and judged. Lets GO with the WORD of GOD and be filled with HIS Power through HIS TRUTH.

If we are not careful to honor God during our seasons of blessings they can easily return into our worst enemy because it can take our eyes off of Jesus. Paul said whether I abound or I am a basted I am content and that I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me…

  4. enough.

  5. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Can men make God a liar? According to this if they change His word they do. Can you imagine then thos that go prophesying to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and the oh ar saved, knowing the truth of One God, One Faith, One Baptism!!!! They will have to respond for every soul that have taken the wrong path and for making God a lair. That’s why we must tell the truth and speak of His Goodness and what He has done for you at all times. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

  6. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

When we put our trust in God and obey His Word, it bring us under His protection and He becomes our shield. Anything that would come against us has to go through Him first.

  7. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

  8. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Trust in the word of God and ye shall be blessed!
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus!

32If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
This is good advice to the World today…we all need to learn to put our hand over our mouth and humble ourselves. Sometimes our thumbs override our brains on Social Media as well. We need to trust in God and only speak as the Spirit gives us the words.

  11. I remember the prayer of a sister in Petaluma. She had prayed fervently as a youth for God to never give her anything that would draw her away from Him. At times she would testify she had been praying in a certain direction and in her frustration ask God why her prayers were going unanswered and he’d remind her of her prayer. After repenting, she’d give thanks, and reiterate her prayer for God to keep her and protect her from her own desires.

That example always comes to mind when I read these verses: ‘Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.’ The first request is easy to affirm and few would disagree but the second request can often be harder. Why can’t we be blessed with sudden wealth, why can’t we be free from struggle, why can’t we be entirely independent in and of ourselves? Because we serve a God who treats us like a loving father rather than a spoiler child.

I don’t need to be free of constraints.. I need my reins to be in his hand. I need to trust him above all the temporal blessings of this world. I want to be blessed, I want my children to be blessed, but God forbid those temporal blessings should ever reach the point that my desire is diverted or hindered from the God who provides then. Let my first desire remain upon him! O let God feed me and provide me with that I need, what is convenient for my walk to remain sure with him, rather than the fine foods of the king’s tables in this world. O let me be thankful for the physical blessings while retaining my trust solely in him!

  12. Proverbs 30:5-6
    5) Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
    6) Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

  13. 5 The believer replied,“Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

God you are flawless! You are the Great I Am who holds all power! Your word is true and everlasting! And I thank you God for being my protector! I put my faith and trust in you knowing I’m on your side God, I know nothing can come against me!

  14. 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Dear Lord. Help this generation of vipers. I pray that as men and women of God that we let our light shine. Show this generation what it means to serve God whole hearted. They say that this generation is one of the most educated generations, yet have failed to be educated in the ways of God and his word.
#GOdosomething by being educated in the word of God.

  15. 8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

In these verses we see great balance as the writer is not asking to simply be rich but to have “food that is convenient for me” He also is not asking to be poor. He understands that he can do nothing for the kingdom if he is poor and needy so he brings great balance to the request because its more important to him to remember who his Lord is than to take Gods name in vain.

  16. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Hallelujah, what peace to know that if I trust Him, He’ll continue to keep me and protect me.

  17. 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

I get very disturbed when I hear or see someone disrespecting parents, even before my Mother passed, Some things I hear kids say to their parents make my hair stand up on end, and the thought would be if they said that to my mom they woulda been laid out! People laugh when I say that but its true my generation verses this generation is so vast in differences! We need to respect the people that are authorities in our life, we need to be mindful of the way we speak to our parents because they wont be here forever, they have been through some things and they know some things. This generation thinks they know everything and some are unteachable! God obviously values how we treat and view our parents, if we cant respect our earthly father that we see and spend time with everyday how can we respect our Heavenly father that we cant see!

  18. There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
    Proverbs 30:11‭-‬14 KJV

Father help us to raise up this generation with core values. There are so many young people out there that have no respect because of how they’re raised. They need to learn how to respect those that raise them and those that are trying to guide them.

  19. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

The word of God is so powerful but we must be careful on how we use it.

  20. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee , and thou be found a liar.

There is nothing that we can put in or take away from the word of God. The word of God is forever settled in heaven. So anyone that teaches or preaches anything that you can’t find in the bible is a liar.

I forever grateful for a true man of God that stay in the bible and preaches and teaches what in the word of God. I dont ever want to take it lightly.

  21. Josiah: 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
God’s word is pure. The things of this world and what people may say may be evil and wrong but, the word of God is pure. Not just part of it or, some of it but, all of it. His word is like a two-edged sword. We can learn from it and stand firm upon it nomatter how much turmoil this world may be in. God is our Savior “He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” So, let us GO in JESUS NAME for God is the path to eternal life in heaven!

  22. 9 Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the Lord? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Some would say that taking Gods name in vain would be a curse word. I disagree. Although I would never say that phrase or approve of it I believe it goes deeper than that. When someone has the fish symbol on the back of their car to say they are a Christian and then cuts people off in traffic cursing and giving the bird. Or even worse when someone uses God or the church for personal gain. These are things that happen right under our noses and get overlooked. God doesn’t want his name associate with anything but righteousness. Anything else is vain.

  23. Hannah: “5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him” The Lord of the Lord is pure and there is nothing that is not pure about it. I will place my trust in him and through him will I be saved he is the only Savior and he is the only one who is perfect and pure. He is a mighty God and every day we need to place our full trust in him and let him lead the way. It is my desire that I will always let the Lord use me and that I will never walk in my own way. He is my God and he deserves all the praise.

  24. “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭30:5-6‬ ‭KJV

If every word from God is pure then why do people try to add extra to what he says? It’s something that has proven itself over and over. The very obvious cases are those like –reasons the world will end in —-. I never really payed much attention to these things because the Bible says no man knows, but some people tried to add to the word and they were found to be liars. It’s better to be unsure and just say hat the Bible doesn’t tell all about that or even to say I’m not sure than to make something up and be proven to be a liar and a fool.

  25. Verse 5 AMP “Every word of God is tested and refined [like silver]; He is a shield to those who trust and take refuge in Him.”

Psalm 28:7 AMP says “The Lord is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.”

  26. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

He has no flaws or blemishes. He is pure in all his ways and his love extends beyond beliefs. The shield of faith is a protection from this world. Sometimes we think how does he protect us? But it’s simple… by his angels and him you may not see it, but we have everything fighting against us, but somehow we make it out.

  27. 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Unfortunately this describes our current generation. Where are the Godly parents? If we, the parents will teach and train our children to live right, and be their parent, not their friend, then we can guide them in the right path when they make bad choices. However, if we wait on the church, or the Pastor to be their only guide we are doing our children and the church an injustice. We will always be their parent. Offer them advice, guide them through the Word of God, prayer with them and for them – lead them by example in worship, praise, prayer and the Word. If we are not faithful to the house of the Lord, don’t expect them to want to be faithful. Be consistent, faithful and dependable. Our Children needs us whether they think they do or not.

  28. Sometimes anger is an appropriate like a righteous anger in response to injustice and sin, but when anger is unchecked or misdirected, it can cause great destruction. Jesus goes so far as to say that unresolved anger and resentment are no less serious than murder (Matt 5:21-22). Dwelling over resentments takes people’s focus off God and sets them on a course towards evil (Ps 37:8-9). Venting frustration, whether through silent, seething rage or explosive temper tantrums injects the whole situation with negative tension. There certainly are much more productive ways to expend ones energy. There are more specific ways we could be investing energy more positively in the lives of those around us.

  29. 32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Glory be to God always, Lord let us search ourselves of any impure thoughts that would lead us to thinking we are too good to lift up your holy name.

  30. 2I am too stupid to be human, and I lack common sense.

So many wants facts about the bible to believe it. They want facts to believe if God exists. A little common sense will reveal to them God does exist. Thank God I have enough common sense to believe in God.

  31. 30. A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any; 31. A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up. 32. If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth. Jesus I Love you !!!!

  32. 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

How true is this. Many people from the Mormons to Islam have added on to the bible or removed it entirely. God will reprove them. My I never be in the danger of adding to or taking away from his word.
