Ecclesiastes 3

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

  1. Verse 1 AMP “There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—”. Everything is
    and will be in God’s time and in His manner. We may have plans or ideas of when and how things will take place; but, it is all in the Lord’s hands (divine appointment).

    Ecclesiastes 8:6 CEV says ” Life is hard, but there is a time and a place for everything,”. 1 Corinthians 14:40 NLT says “But be sure that everything is done properly and in order.”

  2. 16 I also noticed that under the sun there is evil in the courtroom. Yes, even the courts of law are corrupt!

    17 I said to myself, “In due season God will judge everyone, both good and bad, for all their deeds.” NLT

    I often shake my head at the rulings of the court systems, but we have to remember that there is a higher court and God is not mocked. Just because it looks like someone is getting away with something, that doesn’t mean they actually will.

  3. Ecclesiastes 3:17, “I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

    There Is A Time – when we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…
    Rev. 20:12 says, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God: and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”

  4. 12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

    So happy that I know that all the seconds of my life belong to Christ Jesus. When all your time belongs to Him, there are no worries for the tomorrows, no fear of corporal death for our bodies may die but our soul leaves for ever in Him. The corruption of this world will affect our bodies, but as long as we keep HIS JOY, HIS PEACE, HIS LOVE, AND BE OBEDIENT HE WILL GIVE US LIFE AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY.

  5. GO IN UNDERSTANDING OF YOUR SEASON

    1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    One of the most often uttered questions we hear is:

    “Why is this happening to me?”

    Truth is there are some things that happen in our lives that we may never know “why”. However, it is possible to know the “What”.

    Season and Time. Every relationship is tested for the depth of love, usually the depth of love is reveal through the level of commitment during the seasons of life.

    Understanding the seasons of life is not always simple and easy. However, GOD gave us the 4 seasons of Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring to identify that each season brings its own dimension of change. If we utilize this unique position of approach to the seasons in our lives we will embrace them and not reject them and misidentify them.

    Understanding our season can only be fulfilled as we walk in the SPIRIT of GOD. We must know what HE says about where we are and what HE is doing in and through us. Each day and especially each season we must seek the LORD for understanding of what HE is doing.

  6. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    Nothing in this world goes unseen by the creator. For everything that happend is all for a reason, hurricane Harvey is the begging of a larger, more united, and greater country which is soon to come. Our God is going to do greater things and more so we are going to be used by him. Thank you Jesus!

  7. Somethings in life are good some are bad. Some are happy times, others sad; some are productive while others seem wasteful; some inspire peace and others bring pain. All of them are necessary for us to learn and grow. If we look closely enough, each experience reveals a loving purpose that we can learn from. We have to try and find the gift in each season.

    Although new beginnings are usually preferred over endings, we should remember that every new beginning requires an ending—sometimes even a death. Likewise, reaping a harvest may be preferred over the work of preparing, planting, and tending a crop or garden, but we cannot enjoy one without the other. Even the storms of our lives are necessary to clear the atmosphere of old ways of thinking that keep us from moving to the next seasons of our lives.

    With every crisis comes a choice—to resist or to accept, to respond in fear or in faith. If we can only remember that there is a gift in every crisis or challenge—in every transition of life—we will be able to go with the flow more easily. As we discover the gift in every season, we learn to trust God and His purpose within it.

  8. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
    15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

  9. Always important to remember that ‘To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven’ Even if we think we know something has to be within the will of God doesn’t mean that the timing is ready for it to be accomplished. Our perspective is very limited compared to the one who knows all things.. the one whose thoughts are so much higher than our own. We have to learn to wait upon the Lord and truly trust in his timing. We need to learn to listen to that still small voice that’s trying to speak to us even in the midst of the storm that’s so occupying our attention.

    God works all things after the counsel of his own his and ‘I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.’ This is a most important perspective! We recognize this principle with respect to his Word, but the same principle applies to his work. Nothing I do on my own will survive much past my lifetime.. that’s why I want it to be done according to THE PLAN, as we heard last night. Not just a plan that seems to work, but the plan that God is weaving for eternity. His work shall last bforever! The work of God’s hands upon my life has eternal consequences and rewards. If I allow his spirit to work through me then perhaps my frustration in the storm wouldn’t so distract me… because my focus is on his purpose rather than the immediacy of the moment.

    I’m not going to be able to add to it either. Regardless of my ability, regardless of my influence, regardless of what I think I’m able to accomplish, the best I can do is still less than his perfect will for my life. When we stop worrying about what other people are doing and what other people are thinking, when we reach that point that his voice is able to speak with liberty in our life, then we are truly able to accomplish something in his kingdom. Remembering of course, that the best we can do is remain submitted unto him… to truly demonstrate the respect and reverence that the almighty God of heaven and earth deserves!

  10. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    Seasons… they are something we must all deal with in life. We must understand the season that we are in and be willing to accept it. Once we understand what season we are in we can better deal with what happens to us in that season. As a church planter that is something I deal with and must come to grips with. Now is the season for planting but one day there will be a season of reaping. If we know that were in the planting season then we can wait expectantly for reaping! But if we do not sow we simply will not reap. So let us be aware of our season and sow for the harvest!
    The rain only matters for those who have seed in the ground.

  11. 14 And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. (NLT)

    God works in our lives based on our choices. Ultimately, as Bro. Crockett preached, God has His plan for us that brings us the most joy and prosperity. We try in our controlling human nature to add and take away from that plan but at that point Gods not the one ruling in our lives. The scripture says His purpose is for us to fear Him. So fear the Lord, trust Him and all will end well according to His plan.

  12. iLove to Go Blog
    7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

    This scripture would have gone perfect with brother Crocketts message last night. Wow, there is a time for everything…a time to keep silence. I know by experience, the best thing to do when folks are falsely accusing you or they are threatening you is to keep silent. I’ve done it before…back in the day when some folks wanted to beat me up on the basketball court. Yep, he was cussing me out threatening to beat me up. I didn’t say a word. I threw up my hands like I knew martial arts and when he came at me I bounced outta his way and faced him again. He kept cursing but I stayed completely silent. God gave me deliverance that day through silence. The guy never hit me and I never hit the guy but I stood my ground and God made me look as if I was a black belt fighter with some fancy footwork. Later the guy became my friend and all was well. Silence is Golden Gloves.

  13. WOW. JUST WOW. There is a moment for everything, every little detail, is so important, to complete our lives. It shows how careful God was when he made life.

    We need to cry, but sometimes we cry at the wrong times, or even laugh, every moment is import to Gods Plan! And Gods Glory.

  14. “Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

    Because God has planted eternity in my heart I will never be satisfied with this world, for I know nothing but the eternal God can satisfy me!

    And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:11, 14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    God makes everything beautiful in its own time, now we may question why we can’t all receive our blessings at the same time or we may try to change it to fit our timeline, but His plan will not change! Like bro. Crokett said last night we can try and resist His plan and throw our own plans out there but that will only delay His plan for a short time, for His will is final!

  15. 14 I’ve also concluded that whatever God does, that’s the way it’s going to be, always. No addition, no subtraction. God’s done it and that’s it. That’s so we’ll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear.

    15 Whatever was, is.
    Whatever will be, is.
    That’s how it always is with God.

    I was reminded Job 38 after Job and his “3 friends” discussed for days why Job was in the situation he was in and then God had finally had enough and thundered into Job’s life questions regarding what God was up to. Job 38 “Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said…”

    We must learn to trust what God does. He has a plan.

  16. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
    1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    Whatever God does it stands forever. He has also made seasons in life for us to walk therein. So may I follow God and lean not unto my own understanding, but trust in him knowing that he is sure. May God take me though the seasons he has planned for my life.

  17. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. NIV

    We are all blessed to see all the beautiful things that God has created!

  18. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    The Lord us gracious, He is good. In His time . All is well. He knows the beginning, the middle, the highs, the lows and the end. What more could we ask for.
    He is everything.

    The Joy of the Lord is my Strength

  19. 18I also thought about the human condition—how God proves to people that they are like animals.

    Without God in our lives, we probably are comparable to animals. You only think about surviving. Where is your next meal, protecting yourself and getting a good night rest. In reality you have no purpose in life. Having a relationship with God, you’ll have purpose for living. You’ll have relations with others, have love, you’ll want to spread God’s word for salvation.

  20. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
    3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
    4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance

    No matter whether it’s good or whether it’s bad it’s going to pass because everything has a season. Comforting and yet also it can be discouraging it all boils down to how we look at it. We cannot appreciate the dry seasons unless we’ve had too much rain nor can we appreciate the rainbow without having the rain…. We need every season in our life to produce the fruit that God wants to bring forth out of us in our lives.

  21. “Human life apart from God, even at its best, has no ultimate significance and consequently is valueless. This theme characterizes the Book of Ecclesiastes, which begins with “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity” (1:2 NRSV), words that have become classical in the languages into which the Bible has been translated. In viewing life without God the believer is on the same level as the unbeliever in recognizing the desperateness of life. Hebel [l,b,h], the Hebrew for vanity, as its Arabic cognate, suggests a wind or vapor. Man’s life is like a breath ( Psalm 39:5 )”

    From Baker’s Evangeligal Dictionary of Bible Theology.

  22. 14 -15 I’ve also concluded that whatever God does, that’s the way it’s going to be, always. No addition, no subtraction. God’s done it and that’s it. That’s so we’ll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear. Whatever was, is. Whatever will be, is. That’s how it always is with God.

    God I place my life in your hands because you are all I need! You are my provider, protector, and I find my Joy in you! God I pray daily you take control of my life and let everything I do be on the path you have for me! Whatever you do God I’ll give you all of my glory and praise because I put myself in the hands of the Great I Am!

  23. 16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

    17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

    To everything there is a season and a purpose. People think they are getting away with the wicked things there doing, or the righteous feels like there labor is in vain. God will judge the righteous and the wicked nothing is unseen! God see and know it all!

  24. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

  25. 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
    There’s a time for everything, don’t dwell on the past.

  26. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

    When God sets it into motion, nothing or No one can stop it. This is why we must be patience when it comes to the things of God and what he does in our lives. When God dose it, watch out. This is a principle that my father taught me, was to be patience with God and everything will turn out to his glory. And you know what , my dad was right. I have tried my best to patience when it came to things with God. Wait on the lord and he will renew your strength.
    #GOdosomething by waiting.

  27. I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

  28. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    There is a time for everything under heaven. Yet, in God’s time everything is beautiful. Wait on the Lord for the right times and seasons of your life.

  29. 20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

    AMEN!!! We are all of dust and dust we shall be!! We cant blow up ourselves and think we are someone when we know that someone is Jesus!!This book reminds me of how much we should not focus on this world but focus on the mission that God wants us to do for Him, use the talent He has given us, leave everything behind and follow Him!!! We can’t get consumed by this world but walk by faith!!! I can do all things thru Him who strengthens ME!!! Jesus help me do your will Lord DAILY!!!

  30. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    MSG. There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth.

    Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

    More than Conqueror’s !!

  31. “There is a time for everything. There’s a time for everything that is done on earth.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

    God set our world in motion. We have seasons and cycles. God doesn’t have to keep spinning the earth or telling the sun to rise. He is a sovereign God! We must seek His timing and goodness.

  32. “I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Gifts

    Many times people overlook the small, simple gifts in life trying to see hr next big thing. Breath is so essential, yet expected. People overlook the gift of breath that is given to them every time they breathe in. We should become more thankful for even the small things. Thankful for life, breath, family, the ability to talk, walk, and listen. We simple take so many things for granted.

  33. 14. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: Nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. 15. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. 16. And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there, and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there. Praise ye the LORD !!!!

  34. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

    We may not know our purpose here but God does. There’s opportunities for life changing experiences that God tests to see if we glorify him or self. We choose life or death it’s up to us be of good cheer and seek the Lord for your purpose. Your season is chosen by God be still for he’s in control.

  35. Josiah: 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    Sometimes we just need to stop and let things happen in due season. We may want a door to be opened right away but, God knows things that we do not know. He may reveal it in due time however. God is not bound by time. He could have already gone forward in time done it and come back and we might still be praying and asking for whatever it is. On the other hand we could praise God for things we have yet to see and be rewarded for our faith. So, let us GO PATIENTLY and praise God in advance!

  36. It’s clear that their is a time for everything. No matter how hard we strive for something if it’s not the will of God it will not come to pass. It’s all about God’s plan. He plans in times of seasons, it all has it’s order and and a process. It takes building and growing nourishment and patientce. Everything is made beautiful in its own time. One thing is for certain that everything God does will endure forever, nothing can be added to it and nothing taken away from it. (Vs 14). This is done by an everlasting God so that men would reverence him. Many times in judgment of the Isrealites it was done so they would know that he is God (Eze 12:15; Eze 34:27; Jer 16:21 etc.)correction is to trigger conviction and encourage a cause us to repent

  37. Ecclesiastes 3:14 NLT
    [14] And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him.
