Song of Solomon 1

The song of songs, which is Solomon’s.

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.

Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?

If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds’ tents.

I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh’s chariots.

10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.

11 We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.

12 While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.

13 A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.

14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.

15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.

16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.

17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

  1. 2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

Let us treasure intimacy with our spouse and ultimately with our God above all things. More than anything we could ever receive

  2. Song of Solomon
    Intoxicated with God’s love!
2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

  3. A HOUSE BUILT ON LOVE

17 The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.

Cedar and fir are 2 of the most solid woods of the forrest. The song of love from Solomon indicate that a house built on love will be one of great stability and endurance.

The Kingdom of GOD is built on similar foundation.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

1John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Lets GO build the House of GOD (Prayer) on the LOVE. The long lasting and enduring LOVE of GOD.

  4. If we ever doubt the love that God has for his people, this song should quench those fears. It is not coincidental that it is written of the same man who gave us such insight into God’s wisdom. Having an intellectual understanding of who God is should draw is closer into his love. When we understand the depth of his preparation for his people, we see that his love is not a passing fancy, it is one that cares about even the smallest details.

All God asks is that we return his love in the same fashion. A depth of relationship that is seen in our commitment. If our actions do not demonstrate our commitment to him, then how deep can our love be said to go? His commitment was demonstrated on calvary… if everything else he’s done is not already enough. He didn’t hold anything back from us. Our love is shown when we likewise do not hold anything back from him!

  5. 3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

His name JESUS is as ointment; sweet, healing, anointing…lets pour it forth every chance we get!

  6. 16 Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.

Six months ago today I said I do. Of course, I still consider myself a newly wed. But not only pertaining to my husband but above all pertaining to my LORD I am responsible for my part of making sure the bed stays green. Green means freshness, new growth and development, excitement, and tender care, nourishment that it’s being fed with what it needs to thrive. My relationship with God and my prayer life (the secret, special, intimacy I have with my LORD) must be cared after, watered, and kept green.

  7. iLove to Go Blog
    😳
Wow, what a great love story that will make you blush… especially when blogging with the kids…cough cough ahem. Well, we can learn from this chapter that the shepherd really loves the sheep… “”Tell me, O you whom my soul loves, Where do you pasture your flock, Where do you make it lie down at noon?

As sheep of the Lord He gives us rest! ❤️

  8. This chapter is similar to the love of God Jesus died for because he love usHow beautiful you are, my darling, how beautiful! Your eyes are like doves.

  9. Hannah: God’s love is so great for each and every one of us and he will never desert anyone. He is my strength, my shield, my protector, my redeemer, and much more. Without him none of us would be where we are today. His name is above all names and I am so thankful that is the One True Living God. Anything we go through, he always has love and compassion to us, and his mercy is great. His love and peace for us surpasses all understanding and none of us should never be ashamed to praise the Lord. Go and praise the Lord with all your strength, mind and soul in Jesus Name!

  10. Josiah: People love different things. Some love sports, others music and some books. There are many things people love. Liking things is not bad but if it is our first love them there is a problem. What we love most. Care for most should be God. Mathew 6:33 says “But seek ye first the kingdom of God…” Mathew 22:37 says “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love thy Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” In the next verse it says “This is the first and great commandment.” 1 John 4:19 says “We love Him, because He first loved us.” So, let us GO FIRST LOVE GOD!

  11. 3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

The love of God is as pure, good, ointment. It flows like oil upon all who serve Him.

  12. Song of Solomon 1:3
“Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.”

“Thy Name Is As Ointment Poured Forth”
JESUS is the most Powerful Name we can say. In any situation or any season of our life, when we say the Name of JESUS, HE brings Healing to us.

  13. I LOVE TO WORSHIP THE LORD
Song of Solomon 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

  14. 3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

The name of Jesus is like a good ointment! Its so powerful and I refuse to let the enemy fill my mind with doubt. I may be going through alot but I know we serve a mighty God. THINGS AREN’T WHAT THEY SEEM!!!

  15. 1 The song of songs, which is Solomon’s.

2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.

3 Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.

    Love is better than wine

  16. Part of understand this book takes discerning who is speaking. It has a unified theme that tells of the beauty of romantic love as it progresses from courtship, to marriage to a maturing relationship. We can identify who is speaking by the context and the Hebrew words, which reflect either the masculine or the feminine. The story revolves around the Beloved who is in love and her Lover who is the man pursuing a relationship with her and the friends who can be mentioned as the daughters of Jerusalem. The words flow like a poem that gives beauty and reality to the love of a bride and her groom. Their thoughts, emotions and longings are revealed, giving us not only a picture of ancient couples love but also a picture of ideal wedded love today.

  17. Verse 4 KJV “Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.”

Matthew 22:37 NLT “Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a]”.

  18. 4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee

The love between the Savior and His bride is paralled in this chapter. Oh how much He loves us and how He longs for us to reciprocate that love back to Him.

  19. 4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.

The NLT says this about the second half of verse 4: “How happy we are for you, O king. We praise your love even more than wine. How right they are to adore you.” Though this chapter is referring to a man, it parallels with the love we have for Jesus.

  20. 14 My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes.

I can remember Sis Nona Freeman preaching this Chapter and she always referred to it as a love letter from Christ to his Bride and visa versa. She spoke on how His love for us is personal and she wept as she described how much His love meant to her. When we give Jesus our most secret needs in prayer, we have an intimate closeness with Him that this chapter portrays.

  21. Song of Solomon1:1 (English Amp) The Song og song’s [ the most excellent of them all] which is Solomon’s. [1Kings 4:32] He also origjnated 3,000 proverbs, and his songs were1,005.God gave Solomon much wisdom. He was king over all Israel. People all came to hear Soloman wisdom. , And all kings heard it also. This chapter reminds me of God’s love.

  22. This chapter reveals love. It speaks of how a wife feels about her husband. This is how the church should feel for Jesus. Longing to be with him. Ever wanting more time. Seeing the beauty in all that makes him Jesus, and all his creation.

  23. 15 How beautiful you are, my darling, how beautiful! Your eyes are like doves.

A simple compliment goes a long way. Tell each how great you look, and your love will continue to strengthen each day.

  24. 6 Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Pastor preached and has said not to have prejudice. Here is a scripture that supports it. Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me. Do look or judge someone on how they look for only God knows the purpose and plan for their life. May I also this word to heart when hearing the controversy in this nation.
