Song of Solomon 2

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.

His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.

10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.

15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.

17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.

  1. Song of Solomon 2:3-4
    3) As the apple tree among the trees of the woods, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
    4) He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

“I sat me down under his shadow with delight.” Ps. 91:1,”He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
“And his fruit was sweet to my taste.” Ps. 34:8, “O taste and see that the LORD is good:…”
“And his banner over me was love. Jer. 31:3,”… Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:…”

  2. This story serves as a beautiful picture of Christ’s love for His outcast Gentile Bride, the church, for whom He promises one day to return.

Song of Solomon 2:15 Then you must protect me from the foxes, foxes on the prowl, Foxes who would like nothing better than to get into our flowering garden. MSG

The verse is a plea for a careful relationship that does not allow little things to ruin it.

Luke 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do (perform) cures to day and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected (resurrected).

  3. 16. My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.

    In His presence
    There’s fullness of joy
    At His right hand
    There’re pleasures forevermore
    Oh what fellowship divine
I am His and He is mine
In the presence of the Lord
    There’s fullness of joy

  4. There will come a day when these words will come to pass! ‘My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.’

That is the desired end of our love for God… to be called up to be with him in eternity! Regardless of the situations here on earth, regardless of the difficulties we may have to go through, regardless of what it may appear to cost, the end is so much better than the journey. His prize is worth the cost! His love is with the effort! O that our love for him is truly greater than anything we’re attached to in this journey to be with him forever! O that his voice would be so familiar that when he says come, we’re already rising to be joined together with him!

“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.”
    Song of Solomon 2:15

Those little foxes…We, as the body of Christ, are to display the fruit of the Spirit. Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Goodness, Gentleness, Meekness, and Temperance, and Self Control. If we are missing any of the fruit of the Spirit, that is the evidence that there are little foxes stealing the fruit out of our lives. We must put up the walls of holiness and hunt down the foxes so that we will be able to bear much fruit. Don’t play with sin because it’s cute, take it out with an AR-15!

  7. Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard
of love, for the grapevines are blossoming.
    Song of songs 2:15 NLT

  8. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

We must protect our fruit. It’s those little foxes that sneak up, those are the ones that catch you by surprise. It’s when those little foxes sneakily take away overtime until you realize that your fruit is nearly completely gone and wonder what happened. Then you look back and realized you played with the cute little fox but you never noticed it eating up your fruit behind your back. Watch carefully and protect your fruit.

  9. 3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

  10. 8 The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.

Taking for granted the voice of The Beloved…… we are spoiled rotten. GOD IS GOOD TO US!!!

  11. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

It’s not the big things that get us…. They are easy to see, and even easier to avoid but it’s the small things that get us… The little enticements that start to bring us down, those are the things we must watch it for and be vigilant against

  12. GO IN PEACE AND FAITH

15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Consider the source. We witness tempers rise and emotions boil over all too often in our information drenched society. With everyones feelings on the table, people are easily offended and frequently angered over issues and causes they cannot control.

These pesky little foxes, chew away and destroy good relationships. They nibble at trust and fray hope, in their efforts to diminish and spoil unity.

JESUS help us to be prayerful in our approach to relationship and cause. Guarding our hearts and protecting our integrity. Lets unite together and dispel the caustic nibbling of the foxes, those little irritants that seem to show up uninvited into our homes, families, church and relationships. Making JESUS our LORD and speaking PEACE in FAITH is our victorious approach to the coming days.

  13. I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

That term “rose of Sharon is actually referring to a physical location refer to this excerpt from bible-knowledge.com: Sharon is a plain and it is one of the largest valley-plains in all of Palestine. Back at the time of Solomon, it was considered a wild, fertile plain that had many beautiful flowers in it. Sharon was supposed to have been known for its beauty and majesty back in those days.
The rose biblical speaking was known as the “perfect” flower. Today we use this terminology to describe Jesus although in this passage it is not referring to Jesus but to a Shulamite woman who was apparently one of Solomons brides. However we can still relate these statements to Jesus because he is “perfect” in the sense that he was the “spotless lamb slain before the foundation of the world” His perfect sinless blood washed us white as snow and because of that he is that perfect, beautiful, flawless “rose of Sharon”.

  14. 9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.

10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.

    11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;

    12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

Have you ever gone through a spell of loneliness, cold, and dry. The winter is like that a dry, cold, and lonely time where everything seems to be dead; but our God! Our beloved God is waiting for us to cherish Him as our first love. Then He will come and take us to the spring of His presence. Where there is life more abundantly. I will await my beloved until He comes for me. Jesus is all I need!!!! Let the rain of the Holy Ghost rain upon us and make it spring in our hearts REVIVAL IS HERE NOW!!!!!

  15. 3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.

These verses make me think of how Jesus covers us with his love in Pslams 91: 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

  16. He escorts me to the banquet hall; it’s obvious how much he loves me. Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, by the gazelles and wild deer, not to awaken love until the time is right.
Song of Songs 2:4‭, ‬7 NLT
I was reading this chapter and veres 7 spoke out to me it said don’t awake love until the time is right as I was studying the meaning of this verse don’t Awakening love until you ready
Sometime our flash may say we ready but God says we’re not my dad always say don’t fall into a man unless I give him the go so when God thinks you really I will find you one

  17. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

It is often the “little foxes” that cause the biggest problems. The reason for this is because they’re sly and sneaky, they’re not obvious. This is why we must keep our eyes open and our spirit in check!

  18. Verse 16 AMP “My beloved is mine and I am his; He pastures his flock among the lilies.” Isaiah 43:1 ESV “But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”

  19. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.

  20. SIS NORA-

1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

I read this. And I’m like, If this doesn’t exemplify the love of Christ! How wonderful it is to know that there is a God who loves us to this magnitude, To die for us, and then will come back for us!

Things are not as they appear go be!

  21. 3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.

    An Apple Tree

When I was growing up in Illinois, we had 2 apple trees. They were very good to eat. But it took time for them to mature to the point of having fruit. As they grew, we had to take care of them, and nurture them. But after a time, they had fruit. RED Apples,Sweet and Juicy.
As a teacher I can say it takes time to teach ,train, and grow children. But not just in the physical, but the spiritual. When we get a new convert or someone new into the church. It will take time to grow a relationship with them, and for them to generate a relationship with God. We must be patience with them and help them grow.

  22. 1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

Reading these verses I could not help but compare this to how God’s love for us is in this world. Truly, the relationships and friends we may have in this world are like thorns in our sides when we compare their love to God’s love. His love for us is so pure and beautiful and is always there for us, even in the midst of the thorns in this world. I want to always be sure that as I go through life that I never become too ensnared and caught up with the cares of life, that I forget that God’s love is still there for me!

  23. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come. and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  24. Josiah: Pleasures last for a season. In the morning a football game that you spent money to watch is over. The week of fun at Disney can be a thing of the past next week. Yes there are many things that are fun and leave you with memories but they do not save you. When we put time into the kingdom of God. When we put sacrifice, study, money, and much more not only can we get blessed on earth we can have treasures laid up in heaven. Moth, rust and thieves can not get what is laid up in heaven. We have an opportunity to get closer to God and be mightily used of God and fulfill our calling! So, let us GO SOW into the kingdom of God!

  25. Song of Solomon 2: 11- 12( Enghlish Amp) For, behold , the winter is past, The rain is over and gone.(12) The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing [ of birds]. has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. This chapter sounds like peace and harmony.

  26. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

We cannot be ignorant of the enemy devises. We might not even realize that sometimes are the enemy tactics too see if were going to slip up or are we going to stay strong in Jesus..

  27. 1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
As beautiful the Lilly is h in the midst of thorns so is the the love and light of Jesus shown to and through his saints in this dark and trying world full of thorns and obstacles. It is this love and light that will draw others out of darkness and into the kingdom of God.
Just as the Lily blooms for a little while, so is our life here on Earth. We only have a brief window to show the love of Jesus to all around…

  28. Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

It is the little things that have a great significance and impact. Somehow I’m reminded of being faithful over little and he will make one ruler over much. Also if our faith be as a grain of mustard which is small it can move mountains. The same small things can have an impact on people’s lives. It is the small things that can lead to great loss.

  29. 5 Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.

I have the agape disease. God’s love is so powerful it changes you and makes you a better person, love your neighbor and love God. For God loved us first! If we ever stop loving our brethren how can we say we love God ?

  30. The Lord cares for his people. Sometimes it may be hard to get through certain trials, but with God all things are possible. If we can continue to put our trust in God, great things can happen.

  31. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Foxes destroy the vine that connects us to Jesus! We can’t let the foxes destroy our vines or other peoples vines. Jesus help us have your fruits and distinguish these foxes. Cover us Lord and protect us in Jesus Name!!

  32. “My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.”
    ‭‭Song of Solomon‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What an assurance when the Lord is yours and you are his. That’s a part of your life that you can’t make up. It’s work but it’s worth it. You have to fight for your relationship and maintained.

  33. 5 Strengthen me with raisin cakes, refresh me with apples, for I am weak with love.

When couples are in love, they both are weak with love. We need to be refreshed with the presence of your love. Let your spouse be your source of strength each day, and not allow bickering come between the both of you.

  34. 15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

Guard your love and relationship with the Lord. It’s the “little foxes – little things” that become distractions in our lives that spoil the relationship.

  35. I AM the rose of Shar ‘-on, and the lily of the valleys. 2. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. 3. As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. I LOVE YOU MY LORD !!!!

  36. The Beloved is praising her Lover. He is as delightful as an apple tree in a forrest; to be near to him is both protection and joy. She says his banner over her is love vs4. This signifies that My Lover lets the whole world know that his love is for me. He has claimed us not just us individually but as the church body, depicting the love of Jesus for his bride the church.

  37. 12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;

This verse just reminds me that there is a time ad season for every under heaven.
