Song of Solomon 4

Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.

Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.

Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.

Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.

Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.

Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.

Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.

10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

13 Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,

14 Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:

15 A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.

16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

Ephesians 5:27 NLT “He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.”

  2. 12. You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain. NLT

    2 Corinthians 6:17
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you KJV

  3. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

    Ephesians 5:27
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

We can see Gods love for his church. For those that preach the once saved always saved, God is coming for a church that is without spot or blemish. Meaning no sin, this is why we are preached to always live a life separated. Always repenting before God, living a life holy before him.

    We serve a Holy God.

  4. 16 Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.

1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

Boom! This is the hair scripture ladies! Your hair is like a flock of goats. Yep, a flock of goats not just one goat but a whole flock. If the writer would have said only one goat then it would justify the cutting of hair, but a whole flock symbolizes a lot of hair.

1 Corinthians 11:15 NLT (15) And isn’t long hair a woman’s pride and joy? For it has been given to her as a covering.

Ladies, enjoy your flock of goat covering today. It is your glory!

8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.

The Bridegroom calling us away . As we draw closer to Him we are able to hear His wooing,His beckoning call. When we feel the tug in our heart to get alone with Him. He wants our attention daily we must not allow anything to silence the call of our Bridegroom. We must communicate with Him daily . You may be have to say no to going somewhere with a friend, you may even feel isolated but when the Bridegroom beckons we must run to Him for in His presence there is much power abd much love He wants to bestow upon you.

  8. Verse 7 MSG “You’re beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless.” Same verse AMP “O my love, you are altogether beautiful and fair. There is no flaw nor blemish in you!”

Its always been Gods desire to present unto himself a glorious church one without spot or wrinkle. He wants a people who are separated and different from the rest of the world. Ones that are the salt of the earth and a city on a hill. This verse correlates with Gods desires.

  9. 7 “O my love, you are altogether beautiful and fair. There is no flaw nor blemish in you! (AMP)

This is how God will prepare His church to be; it is what we are expected to strive for. Sometimes it’s hard to believe we can truly be holy knowing the past sins we’ve committed; we remember the sin even though God has put it under the blood. This is where we have to convince ourselves and truly believe God has forgiven us; truly believe that in Gods eyes you were worth saving and dying for; in Gods eyes you are worth loving and keeping. Know that we are all beautiful in His sight and He truly loves us unconditionally so with that, I’m convinced and desire to strive for holiness and reflect His holiness.

  10. The way I see this verse I see that are beautiful among all his words are like perfume sweet and comfortable I know if we call on the name of JESUS he will answer what a beautiful name it is nothing compares to it nothing can stand against

You are beautiful, my darling, beautiful beyond words. Your eyes are like doves behind your veil. Your hair falls in waves, like a flock of goats winding down the slopes of Gilead.
    Song of Songs 4:1 NLT

  11. TRUE LOVE

7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

What does love look like? In the diversity of our world, I believe the answer to the this question from an old quote I heard as a child.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. I believe the same could be said of LOVE. This chapter seems to place a great amount of value on the physical beauties of the flesh and how they seem to satisfy a fleshly longing. This is a component of LOVE, but it is not LOVE defined.

We find LOVE defined in the apostle Paul’s letter to us through Corinth.

    TEV
    1Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;
    5 love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.
7 Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.
    8 Love is eternal…

    Or the writing of John:

    KJV
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The WORD of GOD is TRUE and POWERFUL. Love is the language of GOD. I believe the context of verse 7 is from the perspective of TRUE LOVE and not sensual love.

The phrase “there is no spot in thee” can be considered from 2 different perspectives.

    1. Whatever your flaws are, I LOVE you so much that I do not see them.

    or

    2. Your physical appearance is PERFECT and I can’t find any spots.

I believe perspective 1 is the reality, LOVE looks past spots and flaws to find the good. JESUS reveals this LOVE to each of us. Also, there are very few people in this world with “no spot”. How challenging would it be to find them.

GO understand LOVE is an emotion that leads to an action, not an action that leads to an emotion.

JESUS LOVES (emotion) so he gave his LIFE on the CROSS (action).

  12. Love such a beautiful thing , but here he delights in her virginity.
Sex before marriage a very unwise and cheap and destructive thing .
But nothing can compare to the love and joy of you completely giving your self and committing in a marriage. She was refreshing to him is yours ???

Small disclaimer I don’t know anything about marriage 🤷🏽‍♂️

  13. “O my love, you are altogether beautiful and fair.
There is no flaw nor blemish in you!

Our God is perfect in every way, there is no blemish in Him. He has created us in His image, and we strive for perfection everyday.

To Be Like Jesus, to be like Jesus
On earth I long to be like Him
All through lifes journey from earth to glory
I only ask to be like Him

  14. 4 Your neck is as beautiful as an ivory tower.
Your eyes are like the sparkling pools in Heshbon
    by the gate of Bath-rabbim.
Your nose is as fine as the tower of Lebanon
    overlooking Damascus. NLT

God made you in his image, therefore no matter what anyone else says, you are beautiful the way you are!

  15. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

All the beauty of the saints is derived from him, and they shine by reflecting his light; it is the beauty of the Lord our God that is upon us.

  16. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, none of us are perfect. But with a heart of repentance and Gods mercy, he sees us as spotless! How great is our God that he sees our beauty within, even when we do not!

“To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  17. 1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

  18. 8 Come with me from Lebanon, my bride. Leave Lebanon behind, and come. Leave your high mountain hideaway. Abandon your wilderness seclusion, MSG

There is scripture after scripture explaining that the flesh is against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh. That you must leave the one and be with the other.

Gal 5:17 “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”

Jesus desires for us to leave the wilderness and be with Him, for He knows that to be spiritually minded is life and peace!

Romans 8: 5-6 “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

  19. Song of Solomon 4:7, “Thou art all fair, my love, there is no spot in thee.”

1 Peter 1:19 says, “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

We have been redeemed by the blood of J ESUS CHRIST, who was the spotless lamb.

  20. 1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves’ eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.

Keep your eyes on the head. Beauty is in the eyes. You can tell a lot about someone when you look at their eyes. You see the joy and the pain that they have endured. But what does God’s eyes see? Do they see us prospering, or failing? What are we doing with our lives? Are we progressing or digressing? Do we have a winning attitude or a failure mentality? What do the eyes of God see us doing? How are we changing, where we are going? When we look up at our giants, we fail… If you look up to God, our giants fall. Look to God for your help.

  21. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.
Gods love is without spot or blemishes he loves unconditionally.
We are all clease by the blood of the lamb.

I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned against Me and by which they have transgressed against Me.

  22. 11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

Honey and milk are under thy tongue. Could you do that daily? The Bible says the word is as sweet as honey. Could you keep nothing but the word of God in your mouth spread his love and kindness? Being an example and showing good fruit of the spirit. Lead others like they should be lead. Especially new born babes in Chris, they need they’re milk. I can remember like it was only a year ago when I first got the Holy Ghost I was so hungry and had so many questions and I wanted to share immediately what God was doing. I don’t know where to begin how wonderful He is and how sweet it tasted to have just a little understanding. It’s a hunger that is never gonna be fulfilled. His word will keep you wanting more.

I want more of you God
I want more of you God
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus!

  23. I Love To Worship The Lord
    1-7
Solomon beautifully describes seven parts of the maidens body 7 being the number of perfection thus from head to toe Solomon found his beloved incomparably beautiful

  24. How the Lord loves us! He calls us alone with him, he brags on us and shows us kindness. We are valuable to Him even though it is His grace that picked us up, cleansed us and saved us. He calls us perfect even through when He first found us perfect was not the word to describe us. Yet, regardless of our lowest moments He still thinks we are valuable.

  25. Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices: A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon. These verses stood out to me from when we were talking about our praise being a heavenly scent going up to God. To build a garden of praise and prayer; that would be awesome. To know that our prayer and praise is a heavenly scent to God. Thank you Jesus.

8 Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions’ dens, from the mountains of the leopards.

9 Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.

When you Love someone you will go where they Go, it’s awesome to know Love like this, we find this love in Jesus!

    John 3:16
For God so Loved the World that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever
Believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life. (NIV)

  27. The love of God is perhaps difficult sometimes to express in words. The Song of Solomon tackles that conundrum by expressing the intimacy of a husband and a wife who are truly in love with one another. This same analogy is given by Paul and others and they present the depth of relationship that God desires with us.

When the cares of life begin to get you down, or your spirits are in a valley where you just don’t see clearly, it’s good to remember the unfailing nature of God’s love. And when we consider the magnitude of his love, it’s always a good time to reflect on whether our love to him is truly demonstrated in our walk. Can people tell that we do indeed serve a loving God that were are doing our best to please.

That kind of love is important to our testimony, but it’s even more important to ourselves. We know that God knows all things, but what would anyone other than him say of our love? If we know that he loves us, do we also know that we show him our love in return? What I do is just as important, and maybe more so, than what I say. We know this is true of our natural relationships, and it’s important to recognize that the same principle applies in the demonstration of our love to him. Let our love be known! Let it keep us closer to him even as it draws others to the only one that can save!

  28. 11 Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

one word “Agape” Gods love is sweet like honey and flows smoothly.

  29. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

Praise be to God for he is coming for a perfect bride. The church must be ready…even so come Lord Jesus come

  30. Christ’s love for the Church is truly unique! There is no love on this world that can compare to His great love for us! HE loves us so much that He died for us to wash away our sins, so that we may spend eternity with Him! God is great! I want to be sure that I keep a daily relationship with God, so that when He comes, I will spend eternity with Him! HE has already paid the cost; there is nothing to hold me back from living for Him EVERY step of the way! God is great!

  31. Metaphors can speak of infancy without being lewd. The beauty of the Lover admiring his beloved is heightened by describing her to be as a garden filled with delight, we see the power of both his love and his desire in the images he uses. He delights that she is a locked garden, an enclosed spring and a sealed fountain. She has kept herself pure, separated and holy. The combination of their love will be greater because of the exclusivity of their relationship. Men are also called to this same purity and faithfulness (Proverbs 5:15-20). We should embrace singleness and dedicate that time unto God and when the time is right he will line everything up the way he wants our lives with a spouse for his glory. He is coming back for a bring holy and separated unto him ..without spot or blemish. The greatest love comes from Jesus who died for our sins and his blood washes white as snow. When we walk in him he becomes delighted in us. To please the Lord is the greatest accomplishment. It’s the relationship with God that will lead into eternity not those here that are temporal. The one we will be married to in heaven is him because we belong to him first and foremost. You cannot love others until you first love God and yourself. In order to be admired as a garden we have to pull the weeds (repent of sin) water the plants (full of the Holy Ghost) and grow (bear spiritual fruit) because nobody wants a dead garden.

  32. 12 A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

Some things are best concealed. He spoke of the importance of not awaking love before it’s time. This same way we have to keep ourselves separated in our walk in holiness unto him. When we are faithful God blesses us with growth and abundance.

  33. 7 Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.

As the church, God should see no spot in us! We must be pure and holy upon His eyes. We can’t have a blemish upon us but be like Him. It’s not easy but I believe He would’ve told us that if it weren’t possible. We can’t justify and “excuse” ourselves just because we are “humans.” Yes we are humans but God created us and we can’t let this world corrupt the temple that God has made.

  34. “You’re beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless.”
    ‭‭Song of Solomon‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I am glad that when Jesus looks at us he sees what we are in him. This is the way he sees us. Thank you Jesus that you help me to be more.

  35. Josiah: This chapter reminded me of Christian love. 1 John 4:21 says “And this commandment have we from Him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.” 1 John 4:8 says “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” When we love God it will show in the way we treat others. If we do not show Christian love then we do not know God. Sometimes how we act makes us different than those in this world especially for boys where there can be a smaller difference in how we look. However when we show that Christian love people may begin to ask us questions that can open doors. So, let us GO SHOW CHRISTIAN LOVE to this world!
