Isaiah 3

For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

13 The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.

14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

15 What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord God of hosts.

16 Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.

18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,

19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,

20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,

21 The rings, and nose jewels,

22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,

23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.

26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

  1. Verses 10-12 in the CEV are captioned “The Wrong Kind of Leaders” and say “Tell those who obey God, “You’re very fortunate—you will be rewarded for what you have done.” Tell those who disobey, “You’re in big trouble—what you did to others will come back to you.” Though you are God’s people, you are ruled and abused by women and children. You are confused by leaders who guide you down the wrong path.” Watch and beware of who you are following. One version questions, True Leaders? No, misleaders.

Hebrews 13:17 MSG says “Be responsive to your pastoral leaders. Listen to their counsel. They are alert to the condition of your lives and work under the strict supervision of God. Contribute to the joy of their leadership, not its drudgery. Why would you want to make things harder for them?” 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 MSG says “And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!”

  2. 8. For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the LORD and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face.

    9. The very look on their faces gives them away. They display their sin like the people of Sodom and don’t even try to hide it. They are doomed! They have brought destruction upon themselves. NLT

God is no respecter of persons; what happened to Jerusalem and Judah will happen to everyone else who speaks out against Him, and refuses to obey, but provokes Him.

  3. For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face.
    Isaiah 3:8 NLT

Doesn’t this sound familiar? This very thing is happening today. But the people that provoke God may not be taken away as slaves or removed, but are allowed to be put in bondage in their minds and spirits. Spirits and mentalities can leave a person in their own personal prison. Lord, help us to reach this city. To go forth and, in Your name, bring these people to the realization of who you are. Draw them into Your house so the yokes of bondage may be broken and they may have freedom to worship and honor You, O King of Kings.

  4. CHOOSE JESUS TODAY AND REJOICE TOMORROW

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

The prophet describes the fall of Israel to Babylon as well the fall of christianity to carnality. However even in the fall of the world as we know it. The Righteous shall be WELL.

There will be a GOD takeover once again of the world. For this we must prepare. Live RIGHT today and be BLESSED by it TOMORROW. On the flip, all of those living a life of sin and demonstrating a wicked lifestyle will be humiliated by GOD and the will have no help, no government, no organization, no club, no group, nothing.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Many people are making attempt to get by with a dual commitment. Trying to fit in this world and trying to fit in The Kingdom of GOD. However, we all must choose.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

  5. This is a sad chapter for Jeruselam/Judah – when God begins to strip away from His people protection and provision, there is no refuge for them to run to. He is our everything and it is His hedge of protection that keeps us daily with protection and provision, but also protection of our minds and spirits.
When all that is removed, we are open to the attacks of the enemy in every way.

We must keep ourselves positioned prayerfully so that the same thing does not happen to us. The people became stiff-necked and hard hearted towards God. Daily I must check my spirit to see what I have allowed in my life that would cause God to take a step back from me.

Jesus, keep me near the cross in heart, mind and spirit.

  6. 10 Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!
11 But the wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they deserve. (NLT)

Are we working to earn or just living what we deserve? The Lord will bless and reward if we are obedient. If you don’t like what you’re getting, remember you’re not perfect and if you didn’t obey, you might be getting what’s deserved.

  7. 9 The look on their faces testifies against them, they parade there sin like Sodom, they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.
10 Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruits of their deeds.
11 Woe to the wicked ! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done.

  8. For Jerusalem will stumble,
        and Judah will fall,
because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him.
They provoke him to his face. NLT

If we refuse to obey the Lord we will have destruction in our lives and will fall like Judah, but if we obey him we will have joy and blessings and much more, God is on our side, but the question is, are you on his?

  9. iLove to Go Blog
12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

    “Children are their oppressors”
The word oppressor in the Hebrew is H5065
    נָגַשׂ
    nâgaś
    naw-gas’
A primitive root; to drive (an animal, a workman, a debtor, an army); by implication to tax, harass, tyrannize: – distress, driver, exact (-or), oppress (-or), X raiser of taxes, taskmaster.

Hey…LOL, we are here! This “Go take a time out’ and “my son has a disorder so he acts that way” generation has arrived! Welcome to the generation in which we have allowed the children to oppress and terrorize the adult population! You can’t touch them, or talk to them, or correct them, or lead them…all folks can do is fear them. The devil is a lie! Because of these “politically correct” ideas the judgement of God came upon the nation of Israel. Lord have mercy.

  10. 8. For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the LORD and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face.

There are many today who speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey Him today. Recently I saw a scientist that I used to respect walking through Noah’s Ark in KY and trying to refute every claim that was possible that God created the world. It was sad and frustrating to see that but regardless of what he or anyone else says we know God created the heavens and the earth! For those who choose not to respect God for who he is they will eventually stumble and fall. They will not be able to stand up to the God of the universe and will ultimately fail.

  11. Isaiah 3:10-11
    10) Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
    11) Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him; for the reward of his hands shall be given him

  12. 18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 The rings, and nose jewels,
22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.

All things shall pass away. Through God we shall become new creatures. We are alive and well.

  13. In those days a man will say to his brother, “Since you have a coat, you be our leader! Take charge of this heap of ruins!” But he will reply, “No! I can’t help. I don’t have any extra food or clothes. Don’t put me in charge!” For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the Lord and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face. Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned! But the wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they deserve.
    Isaiah 3:6‭-‬8‭, ‬10‭-‬11 NLT
Careful who you surround yourself with be careful who you follow you might just be going on the worg road don’t surround with bad people you might just become just like them the wicked will get what they deserve but I don’t want to be in the I want to be the light I want to be the one that shine Jesus light
In the Bible it said there will be false preachers and false prophets at the end many will be the fool by the false doctor and False Teacher that why we have to have the truth in a heart in mine

  14. Isaiah 3

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

    Galatians 5:22
Righteousness, Peace,Joy in the Holy Ghost.

    Ephesians 5:9&10 amplified

For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or the Spirit (consists ) in every form of kindly goodness, up righteousness of heart, and trueness of life.
And try to learn (in your experience ) what is pleasing to the Lord, (let your lived be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him).

It will be well as we dwell in His Beauty in His Light!

  15. 13 The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

God still pleads for the souls of men today, trying to bring them back to him. When pleading has gone unheeded, judgement could be next. Verse 14 reminds me of Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
With that verse in mind, I think of how we live for God today…does it measure up to the saints of old that we will be with when the Lord returns? I can do more…

  16. 13 The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
Only the Lord can judge you, even the carnal know that one.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus

  17. 9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

Just like back then, people now too are proud of their sin, they do everything they can for attention and to show the world just how “bad” they can be. But the thing about sin is, it’s self destructive. In today’s world sin is often viewed as exciting and interesting, but regardless of how the world views sin, in the long run, it will only destroy us. God does everything He can to protect us, by warning us over and over again about the harm we will cause ourself by continually living in sin, but is up to us to decide to obey his word or not! Lord I pray that You would give me a heart of willingness and obedience so that I will not fall into sin!

  18. 9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

The countenance rarely lies!!! (At least mine doesn’t, nether does Bellas) =D

  19. 9 The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

  20. I Love To Worship The Lord
The arrogant and fashionable women of Jerusalem are condemme by the prophet for being more interested in the latest fads of fashion than the spiritual well-being of the nation.
They are described as haughty proud and wanton (suggestive)

  21. 1 For, behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

God does not fail, for we should Remember that he has all power and authority to do all he likes. As apostolic men and woman we have to GO and I mean GO reach out to people. Get them friend day info and etc. When I go to the lord for judgement I want him to look at how many souls I reached.

  22. v10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
    Reward Of The Righteous
GOD will reward those who live righteously in Christ Jesus.
Peter proclaimed that there is a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness will dwell.
Praise GOD no more sinan it’s curse death will be a thing of the past,
Thank you JESUS for the kn6 that our salvation will be finally complete and forever more with the. LORD,

  23. 9. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sod’-dom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. 10. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. I LOVE YOU LORD !!!!

  24. join Jesus today, stay with him and rejoice with him when he comes back.
all we have to do is follow the map he left us”THE BIBLE”.

  25. 13 The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

  26. 11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

These verses show both the prophecy over the wicked. That they shall receive their reward. It also shows what that reward is death and sorrow. May God remove any iniquity in my heart and not let it firm and bring death and sorrow into my life and walk. For as Jesus said the wages of sin is death and I do not want that wage. So me o God.

  27. 24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty

Carnality stinks to God! It turns what was once Holy and sweet smelling into a garbage dump. It should be our desire to flee carnal thinking and actions in a effort to please God!

  28. Isaiah2:8 (English Amp) For Jerusalem is ruined andJudah is fallen, because their deeds are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of His glory and defy His glorious presence. If we dont obey God’s laws we will fall down like Judah and have destruction in our life’s. Lord I need more of you.

  29. Not good to have God upset with you……

7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

    “Be safe”………..

  30. Tell the godly that all will be well for them. They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned! But the wicked are doomed, for they will get exactly what they deserve.
    Isaiah 3:10‭-‬11 NLT

It matters how we live our lives for our reward is in how we choose to live. The word clearly states that we shall reap what we sow.

  31. 8. For Jerusalem will stumble, and Judah will fall, because they speak out against the LORD and refuse to obey him. They provoke him to his face.

So many times we have come in contact with someone that doesn’t believe there is a God and that he never existed. We know that is a lie and we have to pray that God will give them revelation that the God I seeve is real What about the time I didn’t fully trust God in a situation? Does that make me right because im a Christian..No. I need to make sure that I keep my Gaurd up and stayed prayed up because the enemy can see wherever and what ever I lack and try to ease his stupid self in.

  32. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

  33. Isaiah 3:4-5 NLT

4 I will make boys their leaders,
    and toddlers their rulers.
5 People will oppress each other—
    man against man,
    neighbor against neighbor.
Young people will insult their elders,
and vulgar people will sneer at the honorable.

It’s important to have elders as leaders in the church as well. Their wisdom is needed to guide and counsel the younger leaders.

  34. Important to remember: ‘For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of what his glory.’ It wasn’t their lack of ability that destroyed them… it was their lack of desire toward God. You read this passage and so much jumps out from what we see around us in society today and you cannot help but see the analogies. The only real difference will come through real repentance. If our nation refuses to change, even history tells us where it is headed. It won’t be the politicians or their programs and platforms though that will turn us around. As that old time hymn declares: There has to be a revival in this land!

  35. 12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Many leaders get caught up in thinking about power rather than their responsibility to those they lead. Margaret Thatcher once said: “Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to say you are, you aren’t.” If we have to tell those we are leading that we are a leader and leading them – maybe, we are not much of a leader.

An effective leader will push the group in the right direction; we should bring a focus to the group.
We need to explain our vision with specifics direction. Earning trust and respect is crucial. As leaders we should want our people to be inspired, committed and motivated. It’s our job to instill confidence in them as they follow us.

  36. 24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.

God always gives us a choice. We can serve Him or this world. There is blessing, provision and protection in serving Jesus because He will never forsakes us. If we decide that we do not want nor need Jesus; then we are left to our own insufficient devices and subject to the full evils of the enemy and of this world.
We can never afford the price of losing the saving grace and protection of our Lord Jesus. Nothing on this temporal Earth is worth the cost.

  37. 10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

The Law of Sowing and Reeping. Remember Jesus CANNOT lie…

  38. 12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Female and young leadership indicated a nation in chaos for instance two young kings (Joash, 2Ki 11:1-3; Josiah, 2Ki 22:1 as well as Deborah (Judges 4) and Esther (Esther 2:1– 9:32). Isaiah paints a picture of a wayward people and possible war. If women and children rule, it means the men could have been killed in battle. Or the men or immature or unfit for leadership. The message of Isaiah is that if people turn away from their sin, God will forgive, heal and bless. He is the hope for every person and nation.

  39. Josiah: 10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
We reap what we sow. People may wonder why their whole world seems to be falling apart and all they have to do is look in the mirror. If God is for us what can stand against us? When we serve God we can have a peace in our heart because God makes a way. If serving God is what we desire and do then we can reap blessings and not curses. So, let us GO SOW into the kingdom of God!
