Isaiah 6

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

12 And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

  1. 1. IN the year that king Uz-zi’-ah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2. Above it stood the ser’-a-phims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3. 2. The Call Of a Leader

6:1-8 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here I am I ! Send me.”

The first 8 verses of Isaiah 6 Illustrated how God calls many leaders. When Isaiah received a vision from God, the Lord lays out a need for someone to speak for him. God has a message and is looking for a messenger. God issued a General call, for anyone, and Isaiah took it personally. He did so because of three factors that make up a Divine call to lead: Opportunity: We see a specific place where we can make a difference. This has to do with timing.Ability We recognize that we have the God-given gifts to do something about the need. This has to do with competence. Desire: We want to step out and address the need; our Hunger pushes us. This has to do with our passion.

  3. Verse 3 AMP “And one called out to another, saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is filled with His glory.” This reminded me of the song “Holy, Holy (Worthy Is The Lamb)”:

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, for our Lord God Almighty Reign
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, for our Lord God Almighty Reign
    Hallelujah

    Holy, Holy
    Are you Lord God Almighty
    Worthy is the Lamb
    Worthy is the Lamb
    You are Holy, Holy,
    Are you Lord God Almighty
    Worthy is the Lamb
    Worthy is the Lamb
    Amen

  4. I am so thankful for the privilege that I have to be part of a body(Church ) that has so many opportunities, where we can serve. You See when we serve others and looking for opportunities where the Lord can use us, our problems somehow seems to diminish.

We need the spirit of servanthood.

Lord Jesus baptizes with the spirit of servanthood that we my set aside our own personal gain and Yeild to your spirit

  5. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Today just like thousands of years ago a cry is going forth. God is asking “will anybody go?” Who will answer the call? Who will be the willing and obedient? Who will be the passionate ones to take up the cause? My answer is “here I am Lord send me!”

  6. A CONVICTING MESSAGE TO GO

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

People often attend a Church service to “get a WORD from GOD” for their particular, personal situation. However, often is the case we witness here. GOD has a WORD to speak, but it is most often a WORD “through us” and not “to us”.

The FRUIT of the message should be an empowerment to GO and tell others. However, if we do not receive the convicting power of the WORD of GOD. “Woe is me” we will never receive the sending of GOD “Here am I, send me”.

I pray to continually seek the WORD of the LORD for messages to convict and send me to HIS HARVEST and not become so consumed with the need for “an answer” for my need. If I am “Born Again” and filled with the Holy Ghost then my needs are trivial compared to a soul that is lost and not yet “Born Again”.

Lets GO today with the message of salvation through JESUS. John 3:5, Acts 2:38.

    Ye, must be Born Again.

  7. Isaiah 6
    The Call
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

I remember ” The Call. ” The first one came in a small town called Bryan Ohio. We lived on a sheep farm. I was standing by a fence talking to God I could see the sheep in the field and hear their bleating. I was 11 years old and all I wanted was to be used of God that day within me something was born. The night before my dad had brought in to the house a new born lamb that the mother could not care for thus became my call to care for the lost .

The same voice tugged at me while on vacation with my parents in Mexico City as I watched an elderly lady crawling on her knees to a Catholic Cathedral as she was bleeding every movement I could hear His voice saying tell them about me.

The 3rd time was when I again was accompanied by my dad. I was 14 standing in the Foreign Missions area at General Conference in Dallas I began to cry I could hear the voice of God so deep within me calling me to His work. I looked up at my dad and with tears on my face and told him I wanted to be a missionary. My dad took my hand and gave me a reassuring smile he knew I had heard The Call.

When The Call comes it never leaves you. It will forever be there “The Call ” seems to be a great focus for all of us but in reality it is now What will I do with “The Call”. If it truly is from God you will do all you can to WORK for His Glory to fulfill what God has called you for. Thank youGod calling someone like me so unworthy so unskilled but willing. He will use you He will equip you for easy assignment.

  8. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
I look at this scripture as a calling
Here I am LORD take me I want to be uesd by I can’t stay in the same place I am I want to move forward each person has a different calling the one thing we are all have is sharing the gospel of JESUS Christ

  9. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

This scripture jumped out to me, because Isaiah is a man of God, doing God’s will. But he when coming face to face with God is woe is me for I am unclean in the presence of the most high. Showing the truth of God’s word For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;-Romans 3:23. May I not lift myself up, for I am in the all. But instead lift him up and repent.

  10. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

    Our newest praise song:

Holy, Holy, Holy are you Lord
Holy, Holy, Holy are you Lord
Lift your voice and sing His praise,
shout unto God and give Him glory.
With our voice and hands upraised,
we will exalt and bless You only.
You are holy, holy, holy, holy are You, Lord.

  11. Remember the call of the angels in heaven: ‘And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.’ Israel no longer valued that call. They became too enamored of themselves and their own desires, too caught up in what they were doing. Notice the warning that is given in this passage. God still sends them his prophet, but this is what he tells him: ‘And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.’ The voice of God was still being spoken, but he had lost patience with Israel and no longer wanted this generation to hear. They were going to be given over to the result of their own sinful desires. O Lord let me always hear and receive your Word for my life! Let my greatest desire be to him and what he is speaking and directing to me! Let me praise the Lord at all times!

  12. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of host, the whole earth is full of his glory. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  13. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

While living for God, we still find that we battle with this flesh daily and have need to repent & be cleansed from our sins and receive the renewing of our minds. Being in his presence brings that desire to repent and draw closer to him, then we can hear his call.

  14. Josiah: 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
How many would be willing to GO if God called you? How many of us would be willing to say “Here am I; send me.” without first worrying about what people would think, or how you are going to do it. Yes, you need your pastor’s blessing. Later details about how to do it can be figured out. Yet, who would have the immediate response shown in this chapter. I pray that I never get to the point where I am happy just doing the minimum to get to Heaven. Let us GO be willing to GO the EXTRA MILE!

  15. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Before we can have a “here am I” moment we need to have a “woe is me” moment
A moment where we allow God to step in, cleanse us, purge us, and take away our iniquity. Though this process may be painful, it is necessary to fulfill the call God has placed upon us! Before we can ever GO and reach those around us we must first confess our sins, be cleansed, and submit to His control! Letting God purify us may be painful, but it must be done in order for us to truly represent God, who is pure and holy in everything He does!

Isaiah 6:8 KJV  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

I often use this verse in comparison to Genesis 1:26 in which the Word says, “And God said, “Let us make man in our likeness…” You see, in Isaiah 6:1 it describes One throne and One Lord, but yet in verse:8 the Word says, “Who will go for us?” Who is the US? It’s easy to know who the “us” is because it tells us. lol. It’s God on the throne, and all the different types of angels. Isa 6:2  Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

If “us” is only referring to One God here in Isaiah chapter 6, why can’t the “us” in Genesis 1:26 also refer to One God? BOOM!

  17. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

The whole earth is filled with His glory. Everywhere we go we see God’s creations and His marvelous works. Our God is an amazing artist.

  18. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. I know what it means to have unclean lips; to speak ill of others and treat people like they are less than you. I’ve done it and had it done yo me. The murmuring, back biting, and just flat out lying on others to make yourself look good. I felt that coal being placed upon my tongue here just a couple of weeks ago. Now I walk in the glory that God has freed me from the bondage of a false speaking tongue. The glory be to God and thank you Jesus for showing me the truth.

The day is coming that our Lord and savior is coming back to reign.

  20. 5Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”

For we are all sinful. Yet no matter how much sin on e commits, God will forgive you. You will be able to feel God fill you with his holiness. You may think I have committed to much wrongful things, but with God all is forgiven.

  21. I Love To Worship The Lord
    vs-3
In a great Antiponal chorus they sang HOLY HOLY HOLY the Lord of Hosts the whole earth is filled with his glory

  22. God has been warning us for a long time because he knows whats going to happen and he doesn’t want us go go through it. and if we haven’t realized, time goes forward not backwards, and we are getting dangerously close, so it might be time for us to open our ears and listen, and change because what he says happens and we don’t want to on the wrong team when the final showdown come around, which is getting closer and closer by the day.
they join him, follow him and rejoice with him in the end.

  23. 3 They were calling out to each other,

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies!
The whole earth is filled with his glory!” NLT

Our God deserves for us to fill this entire earth with people that glorify him constantly, no matter if they want to or not, there is no name that is above his name, so let’s join together and worship God through our easy and tough times!

  24. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

  26. 6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

We have to face God with our sins and repent of them just like we did tonight. I repent lord before you..

  27. 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

We have a God that will take our iniquity away and purge our sins through the blood of Jesus. Then we can go and share out testimony of what once was but now is made clean made new made while in God.

  28. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

It is not our ability that God is looking for, it’s not the one without flaws, nor is it the one who knows all the right things to say and do. What is God looking for if he isn’t looking for the qualified? He’s looking for the ones just to answer. There are plenty of people who are called or who the potential to do something great in their life, but they won’t get up and answer the door when the master knocks…they missed the most important step to working the kingdom, availability.

  29. Go

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

Whenever you are called to Go you cannot choose where. Got sent Isaiah into people that think they know the truth but he had to tell them they were wrong. It seems to be the hardest ones to reach are the ones that are in denominal church already. God said to go tell them that they are hearing from God but the understanding only comes from the Holy Ghost. Tell them that no doubt God is speaking and calling his people but without the name of Jesus it is all void. There is so much work to do in our city to reach those that in this situation. Here am I Lord, send me!

  30. If even a tenth—a remnant—survive, it will be invaded again and burned. But as a terebinth or oak tree leaves a stump when it is cut down, so Israel’s stump will be a holy seed.”
    Isaiah 6:13 NLT

Gods love for His people shall not die.

  31. 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Lord send me is a daily prayer. We should be willing to Go wherever and to whomever He sends us to. It is this type of willingness that opens the door if the miraculous to flow through us.

  32. I wonder who would be ready to say send me. It’s important as Christians that we are ready when the Lord calls us. We cannot be so caught up in our everyday lives that we miss what God wants us to do.

  33. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Lord Whatever you want to do with me in your kingdom use me lord use me! I am your humble servant!

  34. In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

His train filled the temple. A train is like a robe or loose garment robes are symbols of love, authority, power, and victory! And the longer the train, the more victorious the King. So Gods train fills the temple! That means he has never lost. I’m glad to know we serve an undefeated God. It truly is a blessing to be on the winning side!
iBless you in the of the lord Jesus Christ!

  35. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

God has an open invitation of who so ever! Who so ever is willing, that is who God will use. The answer is not an easy one, because even Jesus said, take up your cross, and follow me.

Bare your cross, it’s not gonna be easy but it’s possible. Here I am Lord, I know it comes with it challenges but if your with me I’m willing to go.

  36. 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Amen! Before coming to POFW I was taught that your nothing unless you sing, play an instrument, or preach. I never was taught to warfare pray for the lost souls or prodigals, to reach the lost, to do outreach, to love the souls, to serve, to work, etc. It was until I came to POFW that I was taught and learned what God really want me to do for HIS kingdom!! I had to completely set my flesh aside and let Him take the wheel! Yes I was scared, nervous, almost denied everything, but my God told me why fear, if I am with you!!! It was when I told Jesus Lord here I am, use me!!! I don’t want to stand in judgement and stand next to Jeff for example and God ask me why I never came to outreach??? I don’t want God to question me of all the things that He gave me to use for HIM and not use it!!! It’s a shame to come to POFW and not be on FIRE for God!!!! Before coming here my husband and I would cry, we were desperate, so lost, and would dream of being part of a church like POFW!!!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

  37. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

All too often, I have found that I answer that I am here, send me, but then, later I am not going anywhere. As I read this a minute ago, I had to ask myself the question, ” do I put a stipulations as to where I go, and what I do???”

  38. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

God wants to use us for his glory. God wants us to go and do his will not our will. To be submissive and not let the cares of the world deceive you from righteousness.

  39. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Make yourself available – here am I, Lord!

  40. 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

I pray that no matter what may happen spiritually that I do not become afraid or too timid to say yes to the Lord. I may not know what He has in store for me if I say yes, but I cannot be afraid! I need to always trust in the Lord and know that when I allow Him to work in my life and allow myself to be used by Him, that He will not just leave me without the means to do what He wants me to do. The Lord is a gracious God who cares and understands! for this also I can praise Him! The Lord, He is good! And His mercy endureth forever!

  41. 13And though a tenth remain in it,
    it will be burnedf again,
like a terebinth or an oak,
    whose stump remains
    when it is felled.”
The holy seed is its stump.

God is the gardener and we are the vine.John 15:1 Jesus says “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” We are identified by our fruit. Israel’s bad fruit is about to get cut off and leave them a small tenth as a stump. This prunes them of their evil and gives just enough opportunity to grow spiritually fruitful for God’s glory. Lord search my heart and prune anything that doesn’t glorify you so that I may bear more fruit.
