Isaiah 7

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.

Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field;

And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.

13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

17 The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.

18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.

24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.

25 And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.

    THANK God for SALVATION!

The days have arrived where respect is trodden in the streets. Not only the flag or banner of a people, but also the people themselves. The hurling accusations, the threats, the injustices are mounting.

GOD will permit us to hear what people say to and about us. He will also allow us to hear the threats, plots and plans of the wicked to attempt to destroy us. But, we must hear the rest of the story. The LORD says, “it shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass”.

The message here is to not pay more attention to our adversaries than our GOD.

  4. 9 Israel is no stronger than its capital, Samaria, and Samaria is no stronger than its king, Pekah son of Remaliah. Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.” (NLT)

“Unless your faith is firm, I cannot make you stand firm.” The KJV says if you don’t believe, you can’t be established. Wondering why you keep stumbling? Check your faith! God help our unbelief that we would have no doubt in You!

  5. 18. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

    19. And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.

    22. And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

    We’ve all heard the saying,
“When life sends you lemons, drink lemonade”…

Well, when God sends you bees, eat honey!

  6. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

  7. And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
    Isaiah 7:9 KJV
If don’t have faith or if you faith is not stable most likely your wort go far let say we have a table let’s say the top part is you and the legs are faith let say the legs broke it’s pretty obvious that the top part will fall why because it was not firm
That how I look at our faith if are faith is not firm and stable we will fall there no where we get anywhere without faith

  8. Tell him to stop worrying. Tell him he doesn’t need to fear the fierce
anger of those two burned- out embers, king Rezin of syria and Pakah
    Son of Remaliah.
    Isaiah 7:4 NLT

Faith vs fear both originated in our hearts and minds and work their way according to our response and actions. For God has not given us the spirit of fear ; but of POWER, and of LOVE, and of a sound MIND (DISCPINE). 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

  9. We often hear it said that Jesus is our perfect example… so consider the example of the child that is prophesied here. ‘Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.’ We know this is reference to God, and notice that he would be called God with us! Not a surrogate, but God himself walking among his people to provide them with the perfect example they so sorely need.

What should we do as we come to God, what should we do when we’re just not certain of the next steps, what should we do first? Refuse the evil and choose the good! Such a simple choice, such a simple step of faith, such a simple declaration of change, and yet one that is so often struggled with. Why should it be difficult to refuse to even be associated with evil? Why should it be difficult to make the right choices and continue to choose that which is good?

The author and the finisher of our faith, began his perfect example of how we should walk with him by refusing the evil and consciously choosing to go good! That is not just where we begin, that is what we continue to strive for! Choose ye this day whom ye will serve, as for me and my house, we shall serve there Lord! We shall choose the good! Every good and perfect gift is from above, so I choose Jesus! I choose to be associated with him and allow his goodness to be seen in me! I refuse to be associated with even the very appearance of evil, because I want his goodness to shine through me!

  10. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel

    GOD WITH US !

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMISES ARE SURE AND EVER LASTING

  11. Josiah: 11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.
12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.
This chapter got me thinking about how so many people want a sign from the Lord yet are not willing to put in the time to prepare for what God wants to do in them. If you want to be used then you should prepare. If you want to win a soul you should be willing to bend down on your knees and pray. Sometimes we just got to look at ourselves when we wonder why something has not happened. So, let us GO LABOUR and put time into the kingdom of God!

  12. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah! Are We talking about Jesus?
I believe we’re reading some prophetic words that was spoken hundreds of years before it occurred.

God works the same as he did then just as good now. Allow yourself to hear the Voice of the Lord. He wants to move in all our lives, if we can allow our hearts to be softened you’ll then start to see the miraculous works of God

iBless you in the name of the lord Jesus Christ

  13. Isaiah 7:14-15
    14) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
    15) Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

  14. iLove to Go Blog
9Israel is no stronger than its capital, Samaria,
and Samaria is no stronger than its king, Pekah son of Remaliah.
    Unless your faith is firm,
I cannot make you stand firm.”

We stand by faith, God is only able to keep us strong according to our faith. The stronger our faith, the stronger we are in general. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. These scriptures also indicate that a ministry, city, family, ect, cannot go any farther than it’s leader. I didn’t realize there was a scripture for this until today.

  15. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Thousands of years before Jesus was born this was a prophecy of his birth. If anyone doubts the word of God just read this scripture for proof of the infallible nature of it. The word Immanuel means God with us! Today he is not only with us but in us through the power and presence and the Holy Ghost!

  16. Isaiah 7:22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

Let those who will not belive the promises of God expect to hear the alarms of his threatening, for who can resist or escape his judgments?

  17. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The promise has been spoken onto our lives. The saviour has come and has saved us. Thank you Jesus for your promise. Thank you for what you did on Calvary.

  18. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

God gives us healing, blessings, increase…etc but nothing tops his greatest of salvation. There isn’t anything beyond or above that understanding that’s more important. We spend alot of our day asking God for this and that, which is fine…but the opportunity to be saved is something we should be grateful for every day!

  19. Then Isaiah said, “Listen well, you royal family of David! Isn’t it enough to exhaust human patience? Must you exhaust the patience of my God as well?
    Isaiah 7:13 NLT

Lord, let me lean on Your understanding, guidance and wisdom and not my own.

  20. 10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying,
11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

I pray that I continually eat of the Word of God so that I may too know to refuse the evil and choose the good! A life lived pleasing to God is more then worth any thing! If I continually eat of the Word of God then, i can more easily understand what and why God chooses us to be and live the way we do. God’s forethought into our lives is truly amazing, something that I may never truly understand or fully grasp, yet I am so very thankful! Thankful for His love for us and thankful for the opportunities He has/will give me to put His truth in my heart and to share it to those around! God is amazing! For this I can praise the Lord!

  21. 10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, sayin

Have yours way lord. Re-evaluate My life the way you would like it to be. My Life is your lord everything I do and say needs to be what you want in Jesus’s name!

  22. The unfailing plan of God

6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

7 Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

The Lord didn’t waste any time shutting this down. Gods focus is on his purpose. If something comes against his purpose or plan he is quick to move. When our lives are lined up with Gods will he will move that quickly on our behalf as well. Our focus should be on aligning ourselves with his plan and his focus will then be on us.

  23. To refuse evil and choose good is sometimes a struggle, but it is not impossible. We must continue to look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. God will lead us to make the right choices, we must be willing to listen to what he has to say.

  24. 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

God will give a sign that Jesus shall be born of a virigin woman, live holy and separated life, do the miraculous, and die for our sins. A small minded person could not imagine this is the Messiah but a simple sign. Something they’ve known of God doing since Abraham. Ahaz thinks of God so small that he doesn’t know what to ask God for. Nothing is too small or too big for our God to do. He has given us air to breathe that we can’t even see and a heart to beat in our chest without a conscious effort or need to control it. Sometimes the thing that is holding us back from the miraculous is ourselves. Our own common sense preventing the mind blowing move God wants to do.

  25. 4 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Thank you God for coming down in flesh to give me an opportunity to live for you. You thought i was worth saving!

  26. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

I love how the Old Testement verifies the coming of our savior. The Jewish people have been little by little been witness too. More people are coming to the knowledge of Jesus. The whole bible is based on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

    God is with us!

  27. Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.(Isaiah 7:11 KJV)

First we have to have faith in ourselves for what we want to ask God before we ask God for him to show us a sign we have to be convincing to “ourselves also have to have the mentality mind set of a high expectancy. There is nothing more grievous to God than distrust, but the unbelief of man shall not make the promise of God of no effect; the Lord himself shall give a sign.

  28. Then the Lord said to Isaiah, “Take your son Shear-jashub and go out to meet King Ahaz. You will find him at the end of the aqueduct that feeds water into the upper pool, near the road leading to the field where cloth is washed. Tell him to stop worrying. Tell him he doesn’t need to fear the fierce anger of those two burned-out embers, King Rezin of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah.
    Isaiah 7:3‭-‬4 NLT

It’s amazing to note that here we see an example of where the Lord knows exactly where you are. If we could say it this way he know your spiritual latitude and longitude or your exact location. If we are willing to listen and have faith we will receive the Word and directions he has for us.

  29. Verse 4 CEV “Tell Ahaz to stop worrying. There’s no need for him to be afraid of King Rezin and King Pekah. They are very angry, but they are nothing more than a dying fire. Ahaz doesn’t need to fear.”

Isaiah 41:10 CEV says “Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

  30. 10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying, 11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.

You figure most people want a sign from God that help is on the way. Show me a miracle that I can believe in. But Ahaz, had already made up in his mind to reject God, so he used the excuse of temptation. If you have already rejected God, is doesnt matter how big of a sign sends your way, it will not make a difference.

  31. 5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

7 Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

God is in control no evil will stand upon his people. In faith no harm will come to those who seek him.

  32. When Ahaz refuses to ask God for a sign (vs 12), the Lord gives him a prophecy with a double meaning. When the boy has grown, Judahs two enemies, Israel and Aram, will be destroyed. Second, a virgin will be miraculously impregnated and bear Jesus, the Messiah. He will be called Immanuel, “God is with us” (Mat 1:23). The virgin birth is a crucial sign of the coming Messiah and later becomes an important part of Apostolic doctrine. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, Jesus, is wholly God robed in flesh. With both qualifications, he perfectly fits the role of intermediary between God and humanity. He can, and does, redeem the world.

  33. Isaiah 7: 14 (English Amp) Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Big old the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son , and shall call his name [ Immanuel [God with us ], Jesus was actually born in time when the Holy Land found itself under the supremacy of [ Assyria, ultimate cause. He named shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God ,Everlasting Fathter [ of Eternity], Prince of Peace. Thank you God for your Salvation.

  34. 4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

It doesnt matter what the situation look like. God is control of the situation and he has final say. God can open any door no man can open and he can close doors rhat no man can open!

  35. 23. And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings , it shall even be for briers and thorns. 24. With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. I LOVE YOU JESUS !!!!

  36. “Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal: Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God won’t just stand by while his people are taken. God will say no and it shall not happen.

  37. when you know that you let Jesus be your God, and you do what he tells you and you follow the bible. the he shouldn’t have to give you a sign that he is going to help you, because he isn’t only going to help you but he is going to win your battles for you. because when you are with him he will protect you always. that is who he is.

  38. 7 Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

God promised that the plans against Jerusalem would not come to pass. This story is a true example of how men stood on that promise and where saved. May I always remember that God’s word is sure and trust it more than any granite rock under my feet.
