Isaiah 24

Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.

The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the Lordhath spoken this word.

The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.

The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.

They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

11 There is a crying for wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.

12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

  1. Verses 5-6 NLT “The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth. Its people must pay the price for their sin. They are destroyed by fire, and only a few are left alive.” Verses 14-16 NLT “But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the Lord’s majesty. In eastern lands, give glory to the Lord. In the lands beyond the sea, praise the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One!” Many think they are getting away with whatever they are doing (whatever sin is keeping them from serving the One True God); but, there will come a day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess as Romans 14:11 KJV says “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Philippians 2:10-11 KJV “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

  2. 12 The city is left in ruins, its gates battered down.

13 Throughout the earth the story is the same- only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest.

14 But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the LORD’s majesty.

15 In eastern lands, give glory to the LORD. In the lands beyond the sea, praise the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Even in the midst of ruin, God will always have a people that praise Him.

Consider the thought that the remnant probably didn’t start praising Him because they were spared, but rather they were spared because they were already praising Him despite of the situation around them.

And I will praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
Because You are who You are
    No matter where I am
    And every tear I’ve cried
    You hold in Your hand
    You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

No matter the situation the Lord is in control and He should be glorified.

There will come a day that it doesn’t matter who we are or high society we are God will put us all on a level playing field and we will not be able to escape it. The Bible says there’s coming a day when every valley is exalted and every hill is made low. Therefore no matter what our status is we should be humble before the Lord.

  6. The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted
God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting
    Covenant. Isaiah 24:5 NLT

  7. 5 The earth has been made unclean by its people. They have sinned and not obeyed the laws, and have broken the agreement that was to be forever

We can’t blame others for our own mistakes. We have the choice to be obedient or not! Many hear the good news and what we should do but how many actually obey them? We can’t let our bad decisions affect the ones surrounding us. How much longer will God have mercy on us if we don’t obey Him. How much longer till we die and then have no hope? We can’t be living like if God owes us something, yes He is love and merciful but we will all give an account of what we did and didn’t do. Lord help me be the light to the people of this city!!! Help my faith to increase!! Help me daily to reach the lost souls Lord!!!

  8. 14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

I want to be the one I want my family and friends to be the one on that day they will sing praise unto the Lord because they made

  10. Isaiah 24
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

His return will astonish many. It’s been prophesied for a long time. I’m so gjad we know who He is. We must let others know He will return they must be ready.
Endtime prophecy is being fulfilled and Soon and Very Soon We Are Going To See The King!

  11. 13 Throughout the earth the story is the same – only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest. (NLT)

Seems like only those who continue to praise will be the few left. In the midst of l it all, what do you choose to do?

  12. Isaiah 24:5
“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.”

The NLT says, “The earth suffers for the sins of its people…”
What are those sins? People have transgressed the laws – people have overstepped the boundaries that God has laid for them, people have changed the ordinance – people have changed the word of God to fit their needs, and people have broken the everlasting covenant – God has entered into a covenant with man, but man has turned his back on God’s covenant.

So the earth is suffering because of the sins of man.
In the past few weeks, we have seen and heard of hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes.

  13. GIVE GOD GLORY

14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

In the midst of utter destruction we witness the POWER of our GOD. JESUS and HIS Church will rise in the day of desolation. When nothing remains in this earth worth living for. JESUS and HIS Church will be VICTORIOUS.

We are witnessing the last days unfold before us. There has never been a greater opportunity to serve the LORD and labor in HIS Kingdom. When everything in this world crashes as the prophet described, the church will rise. Get IN, Get Ready, our greatest hour is before us.

Do NOT allow anyone or anything to distract you from your privilege and right to GIVE GOD GLORY today. The day is coming when HE will reign through us!

23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

  14. 16 – 24: Terror and pits and booby traps
    are everywhere, whoever you are.
If you run from the terror,
    you’ll fall into the pit.
If you climb out of the pit,
you’ll get caught in the trap.
Chaos pours out of the skies.
The foundations of earth are crumbling.
    Earth is smashed to pieces,
    earth is ripped to shreds,
earth is wobbling out of control,
    Earth staggers like a drunk,
sways like a shack in a high wind.
Its piled-up sins are too much for it.
It collapses and won’t get up again. MSG

When reading this, I couldn’t help but think of a character from the cartoon Up. There is a little boy who is complaining from walking in the woods; He proclaims his knee hurts until asked which knee, then he proclaims that his elbow hurts, the scene continues until the little boy is offered what he wants and then all of a sudden everything is fine and he is happy again.

At times in our lives, it is easier to focus and complain about the terror, pits, and booby traps. Just as the character from Up, once he took his focus off the troubles at hand and onto the object he wanted, there was nothing to complain about anymore. In our walk with God, we too must do the same thing.

When the terrors, pits, and booby traps are overwhelming, we must bring our attention to Focus on God. When we FOCUS on Him the troubles that surround us, aren’t that bad anymore. For we know Greater is Our Reward.

  15. Fortify the City!

10 The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

Just one glance at events that have happened in our nation in the pasts couple of years should show us and warn us that we must fortify ourselves and this city.

Fortify-strengthen (a place) with defensive works so as to protect it against attack.

In the Bible, Kings were brought to ruin because of a lack of proper defense against their enemies. Then when they were attacked it brought confusion and chaos and this leads to emotional and mental destruction. So, not only were their homes and livelihoods destroyed but the people were destroyed from the inside out.

Thanks be to God that He has given us “the Kings Kids” a weapon of Praise that is able to fortify our minds and a weapon of prayer that is about to fortify our spirit. That despite the destruction our physical body may be seeing and experiencing around us we have HOPE in CHRIST!

    2 Chronicles 11:5
Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem and built cities for defense in Judah.

As men and women of God, we are to live on the offensive because He has already won the victory. Yet, I use to wonder how do I live offensively when the enemy is always warring against me. Well, it’s simple; I live my life in a manner that glorifies God! I am a worshiper and worship is my lifestyle, Prayer is my lifestyle, and outreach is my lifestyle and all three of these things protect me.

  16. 13 When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done.
14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.
15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

We glorify God in our trials as well as in our victories and give him praise. It’s the praisers here that are pointed out in the midst of the judgements. We must walk by faith and not sight or we will be complainers and murmurers when this world turns upside down. I praise him for his goodness, mercy and loving kindness; for truth and salvation.

  17. 18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

We’re given a choice at this moment we have “the fear of the Lord” or the “pits of hell”
He who’s flees the fear of the Lord shall surely fall into the pits

19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

In the world it’s a constant battle between good and evil you in shows and movies the people with a good angel on the shoulder and the devil on the other. That’s just a small example of the clashing of two thrones.
Though you and I know who wins in the end, every body else might not. It’s up to us to help the Lost Glorifying God the WHOLE way.
You can see the world as a nasty place so it’s our job to help the Lost see the truth. Let’s GO in Jesus name

iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  18. 1 Behold, the Lord maketh…

Many of us are convinced that God is absolutely sovereign. He can do whatever he wants to, and he can do it whenever he wants to. He has that kind of power. But does that mean God controls all things all the time? God’s permits satan to do things and is part of God’s ultimate design and final control. Even in situations where God is permitting, he is permitting by design. When we permit something and we know the outcome we go ahead and permit it, we permit it wisely.

  19. Isaiah 24:4,5
The Lord will be praised because of His victory over all of his enemies and because of His care for His people.

  20. 14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea.

PRAISE THE LORD

  21. 12 In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

Those who continue to praise God in the midst of the storm are those that will continue to stand strong and have the favor of God upon them!

“The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth. Its people must pay the price for their sin. They are destroyed by fire, and only a few are left alive.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Here is the answer! Why is all this bad stuff happening? Well, the Word says it’s mans fault. Wow, all these folks blaming God saying things like, “ If God loves us, why is he allowing all this bad stuff to happen…” Well, God is asking humanity the same question, “If folks want to be saved, why don’t they listen?”

  23. Victorious Praise

Our praise will get us out of trouble. Praise him in the good times and in the bad. Praise him always. When we are on God’s side we win. We shall not live by fear but by power and a sound mind. Live through victorious praise .

  24. 4 The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

It seems like present times. As the earth have removed Godly principles from their lives and strayed away from truth of God’s light many and more devastations have hit

  25. 15 Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.

Glorify the Lord in the fires. No matter the trial we are still made to glorify the Lord. No matter the circumstance. No matter what storm or tribulation may befall us or that we may even bring on ourselves, we are still to glorify God, the Lord and Commander of Heaven’s Armies. The One True Living God. The Holy One of Israel.

  26. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

When judgement day comes we will all be brought before him. The young, The Old rich and famous.. There is no getting around it. We need to get out lives right now.. that we have time.

  27. 18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

The key part in this scripture…. AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS. Everything that happens to us, everything that we go through, it passes, it’s only for a season. I tell my clients all the time, this is only a season in your life, unless you decide to stay in it. All seasons have a propose.. Or goal should be to find that purpose and pursue it

  28. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

In that day, we shall have no excuse. Everything is subject to his authority and by him are all things.

What a tremendous things it would be to fall into the hands of the Living God. I

    • “From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.”
      ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  29. The Bible assures us that even as the world slowly brings itself to the brink, as the noose is tightened upon all those that would refuse to bow, that there would be a remnant that would not only continue to praise him but that they would be strong and do exploits! So how do such a people continue in such times? Look at how they did so in this passage as judgment is being poured out even amongst their own people.

‘When thus it shall be in the midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage is done. They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing for the majesty of the Lord, they shall cry aloud from the sea. Wherefore glorify ye the Lord in the fires, even the name of the Lord God of Israel in the isles of the sea.’

They continued to lift up their voice! They refused to be silenced! They continued to sing praises to the God they served! They continued to worship him in the midst of the fire! Consider that carefully. The Bible doesn’t say they were spared the effects of everything going on around then. It says they chose to continue to lift their voice and praise him even in the midst of the fire. They recognized that while the fiery trial may consume the sin around then, that at most it would continue to purge and purify their own walk. If there was anything in their life that was being brought into judgment, they could consider what God had to say about it and allow it to be removed from their life rather than fall by the wayside.

The more exciting aspect of the situation however is that they continued to prosper in the spiritual harvest! That same passage says that when this comes to pass, it would be like a time for gathering the olives and the grapes from the field. That is strength! While everything else around us is going up in flames, we continue to be about the father’s business. We continue not only to praise him but to be prosperous for him! To recognize it is a time for exploits!

  30. “The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

How important it is to keep the covenant and ordinances and not go beyond the bounds of the law? All of this judgment was on those 3 things.
    1. Set rules
    2. Authoritative order
    3. Personal agreement

  31. 1. BEHOLD, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. 2. Jesus is the answer to all no matter what. So simple and easy, life will never be easy, and if it is check some areas of life.
