Isaiah 44

Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:

Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

And they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the water courses.

One shall say, I am the Lord‘s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Lord, and surname himself by the name of Israel.

Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.

Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.

10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.

12 The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint.

13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.

16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:

17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?

20 He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the Lord hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

27 That saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers:

28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

  1. Some will proudly claim, ‘I belong to the Lord .’ Others will say, ‘I am a descendant of Jacob.’ Some will write the Lord ’s name on their hands and will take the name of Israel as their own.” This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God. Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future. Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses—is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock—not one!”
    Isaiah 44:5‭-‬8 NLT
There going to be false preachers people are going to rise up a claim they are God that why it’s important to stay in the words then you will know for there is No like are GOD none first of everything the last alpha omega beginning and the end JESUS

Image-making is described, to expose the folly of idolaters. Though a man had used part of a log for fuel, he fell down before an image made of the remainder, praying it to deliver him. Man greatly dishonours God, when he represents him after the image of man. Satan blinds the eyes of unbelievers, causing absurd reasonings in matters of religion. Whether men seek happiness in worldly things, or run into unbelief, superstition, or any false system, they feed on ashes. A heart deceived by pride, love of sin, and departure from God, turns men aside from his holy truth and worship. While the affections are depraved, a man holds fast the lie as his best treasure. Are our hearts set upon the wealth of the world and its pleasures? They will certainly prove a lie. If we trust to outward professions and doings, as if those would save us, we deceive ourselves. Self-suspicion is the first step towards self-deliverance. He that would deliver his soul, must question his conscience, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

  3. Isaiah 44

8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

Fear not. Our God is with us.
Through out the Bible these 2 small words have been spoken. From the Old Testament to the New Testament. These words spoken to shepherds in a field, to a man that woukd raise a child no The Child that would save us from our sins. To the young woman Mary who would give birth to the Messiah. To the disciples on a raging sea. God knew that fear would try to take hold that it was a stronghold the enemy woukd use throughout the world. Fear hath torment. Oh but God says Fear Not Be Not Afraid For I Am With Thee. God who is the only God can bring a peace. We must allow the peace of God to push out to destroy fear fron our lives. Through Him in Him is peace.

  4. Verse 6 AMP “For the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts says this, ‘I am the First and I am the Last; And there is no God besides Me.”

1 Corinthians 8:4-6 MSG say “4-6 Some people say, quite rightly, that idols have no actual existence, that there’s nothing to them, that there is no God other than our one God, that no matter how many of these so-called gods are named and worshiped they still don’t add up to anything but a tall story. They say—again, quite rightly—that there is only one God the Father, that everything comes from him, and that he wants us to live for him. Also, they say that there is only one Master—Jesus the Messiah—and that everything is for his sake, including us. Yes. It’s true.”

Ephesians 4:4-6 MSG “You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.”

  5. 6. This is what the LORD says-Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.

    7. Who is like me? Let him step forward and prove to you his power. Let him do as I have done since ancient times when I established a people and explained its future.

    8. Do not tremble; do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim my purposes for you long ago? You are my witnesses-is there any other God? No! There is no other Rock-not one!”

    24. This is what the LORD says – your Redeemer and Creator: “I am the LORD, who made all things. I alone stretched out the heavens. Who was with me when I made the earth?

    Job 38:
    4. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.

    5. Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line?

    6. What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone? NLT

  6. Remember

It is important that we often remember or revisit the moment that God redeemed us and brought us out of sin. This keeps us humble and reminds us that we really are dependent on Him.

He formed us and He will not forget about us we just have to trust him. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

  7. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

There’s no God like my God! We are His children and He calls us His own, so what do I have to fear? Nothing! I just have one job and that’s to bring glory to His name through my service, through my praise, and by sharing the gospel. There’s only one God and the world needs to know!

  8. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

  9. “Pay attention, O Jacob for you are my servant, O Israel, I the Lord , made you, and I will not forge you. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist. Oh return to me, for I have paid the price to set you free” Isaiah 44:21,22 NLT

    Thank you Father.

  10. 3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:

It is a hard lesson but we must place our children at the feet of Jesus. He made them. He knows them. He loves them a more than we can fathom. We read Romans 8:38-39 as if those verses were exclusively for us. We forget that God loves our children in like manner. “I am convinced neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

  11. IDOL vs GOD

6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

JESUS shook me this past Sunday when he spoke to me that there was idolatry at The POFW. This chapter strongly reveals the path and process the produces idols.

8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

Working toward and investing resources for an idol is a worthless waste of time. It is profitable for NOTHING.

These helpless, lifeless trinkets, pocket idols, dead resources that people build and place their hope and trust in end up in ruin.

    But GOD.

    24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;
    25 That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;

JESUS search out hears today to see if we have established or built any idols in our lives. We must REPENT of, turn away from and destroy the confidence of any thing; person, place or thing that we place more value in than you JESUS.

JESUS you alone are GOD and you alone are able to create and destroy, to heal and save, to protect and deliver, to judge and redeem.

  12. 18 They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.

A prayer for the lost… yes it was evident as we read this to say what in the world are they thinking how ignorant…but it’s true they are. From this verse I got a word from the Word to pray for the lost. Lord that you may open their eyes to see and give them an understanding heart to know you. That your light may shine in them that they may understand; give oh Lord revelation for their ignorance and direction in the blindness that they may not perish for lack of knowledge but that all come to repentance for that is your will…in Jesus name let it be done.

  13. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

There is only one God to serve and his name is Jesus. He is a jealous God and requires us to understand that we are to worship him only. Jesus died for the sins of the world and is drawing this world to him through each one of us that will be a witness for him. Tell someone he is a loving, forgiving and saving God.

  14. 3 For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring

“‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  15. “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is a similar scripture this reminds me of in the New Testament
“He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭7:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬
In John it shows us that Jesus is saying this and in Isaiah we see that God says the same thing. This too could also be another scripture you could use to spread oneness and truth to the world. To those that are truly hungry for the word. Rivers shall flow and Gods spirit shall water thy seed!
Man this is some good stuff
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  16. 8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

  17. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

  18. 21-22 “Remember these things, O Jacob.
Take it seriously, Israel, that you’re my servant.
I made you, shaped you: You’re my servant.
O Israel, I’ll never forget you.
I’ve wiped the slate of all your wrongdoings.
There’s nothing left of your sins.
Come back to me, come back.
    I’ve redeemed you.”

    Remember Who You Are.

Through all the ups and downs in life, its a peace of mind to remember that He created us for such a time as this. That He is molding and shaping us for each trial that we go through. That through it all He will never leave nor forsake us. For He is Our Redeemer.

  19. 9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?

It’s a good week to recommit to God. This week is our annual Bonfire with the youth. This has always been one of my favorite times of year. Because it is a time to really do some in depth soul searching. To get things out of our lives that we may feel is hindering us from God being able to move in our lives. We have seen many things thrown into the fire, from ouija boards, witchcraft books, makeup, magazines, music, ect. Now the question is what have we allowed to come into our lives and set up a thrown? It’s time to clean our hearts and allow God to reign in our lives once again.

  20. I Love To Worship The Lord
    Idolatry
Idolatry dominated the ancient world not only in O T times but in N.T. times as well some idol worshipers were superstitious viewing their figures of wood stone or metals as deities themselves.

  21. If we want a another passage to reinforce what the prophet declared, we can go right to the very words God chose to have him speak: ‘Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.’ God declares himself to be both king and redeemer of Israel. He reaffirms that there is no one else beside him. He is God and he is our redeemer… and the word became flesh and dwelt among us!

Why would we expect it to be any different? Just look at the example of creation: ‘Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;’ It was God alone that brought everything into existence… he didn’t need anyone else to provide for what he created. He came himself, he sacrificed himself, he raised himself, and he gives a little breath of himself into everyone that experiences his holy spirit within! He alone is God and there is none else! Let us praise God’s holy name!

  22. Isaiah 44:21-22
    21) Remember these, O Jacob and Israel: for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
    22) I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

The ONE TRUE LIVING GOD formed us; We are HIS servants; HE will not forget us; HE blotted out our transgressions and sins: and HE redeemed us!!

NOW, why would anyone want to worship and pray to an old Dead Tree Image (Idol)?

  23. 22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins. Return unto me, for I have redeemed the. Thank you Jesus.

  24. 7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them.

8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

  25. One God

“Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s no one like God. No one can even compare to Our King! He is so Majestic and Almighty. And there is only ONE GOD! I’m thankful for the revelation of the One True Living God.

“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭8:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  26. 19 The person who made the idol never stops to reflect, “Why, it’s just a block of wood! I burned half of it for heat and used it to bake my bread and roast my meat. How can the rest of it be a god? Should I bow down to worship a piece of wood?”

What a great analogy. Just like other minerals like gold, silver and diamonds. One has to melt them down, some spills to the ground or evaporates into the air. But yet, what is left of the gold/silver they will worship it. Or other religions that worship animals. These animals don’t care about people, and they will die. If only everyone would realize there is only one God, his name is Jesus.

  27. iLove to Go Blog
    18Such stupidity and ignorance!
Their eyes are closed, and they cannot see.
Their minds are shut, and they cannot think.
19The person who made the idol never stops to reflect,
“Why, it’s just a block of wood!
I burned half of it for heat
and used it to bake my bread and roast my meat.
How can the rest of it be a god?

Wow, as I read this I could only laugh out loud. The wisdom of God in display. God is speaking through the prophet making these idol worshippers look foolish. We can look back and think that we would never do such foolishness, however, many today worship other idols, thus we have “American Idol.” We must cast down every idol! Sometimes idols come in the form of a sports team or even a person. We must not fall victim of giving more time, talent, and treasure to other things.

  28. The poor, deluded fool feeds on ashes. He trusts something that can’t help him at all. Yet he cannot bring himself to ask, “Is this idol that I’m holding in my hand a lie?”
    Isaiah 44:20 NLT

Is there anywhere we may be lying to ourselves? Anything we hold closer to us than Jesus? Search us, oh God.

  29. Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
    24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

After all these years, the thing that keeps me living Christ is knowing that after all the problems and things I’ve messed up he has been there Everytime to put into me what I forgot. And is readily available to not my sin’s away, he made me and knew me before mother conceived me and has still allowed me Grace they everything I’ve done wrong.

  30. Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

    NO OTHER GOD!

    THANK YOU JESUS!

  31. 21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

How can I forget what you done for me
How can I forget how you set me free
How can I forget brought me out
How I Can I forget no Never!!!!

  32. 8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.

There is no other God, Jesus! The same one that created everything in heaven and on Earth is the same God that lives in me today! Same power, same everything!!!
From the church that I come from I would always hear preachings of the miracles that used to be seen back in the day, always throwing pity parties about the past! When I would always ask myself aren’t we serving the same God, did I not get the memo that God is different now?!? Praise God that I attend a church that knows who Jesus is!!! I have seen Jesus transform my life, my marriage, my children, my home, my finance, my relationship with Him, and so much more! For that I am grateful and will always be!!! I love talking about the moment of how we ended up at POFW because it was all God!!! We did not know anybody but I know that all those weekly prayers, fasts, tears, etc is what made us hunger for God so much that we were desperate for a move of God!!! We were so desperate that we didn’t want to just move to another dead church but attend a revival HG filled church!!! God knew everything we desired and gave it to us plus more!!! Never imagined we be launching a Spanish POFW 🙂 I know there are souls out there just like us tired of dead churches! Jesus never let this fire burn out, awaken me Jesus!

  33. 15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.

Isaiah describes the absurdity and a hint of ridicule for those creating idols and worshipping them. People use some of their wood to build a fire to warm themselves and cook their food then use the rest to fashion an idol. How can a powerless people create powerful gods? They can’t. People cannotsave themselves with something that’s less capable than they are. Salvation occurs when the stronger rescues the weaker. Only the powerful Almighty God can save his people from sins death and destruction. Yet, even today, people try to save and satisfy themselves with everyday idols. We should be sold out and following after Jesus instead of distracted by carnal things that are hallow and void of salvation.

  34. 24 Thus saith the Lord, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

Lest we forget God created everything including us and He doesn’t need any help accomplishing His will, yet He choose to use us as His instruments. Let’s proclaim what the Lord has done for us and what He can do for others. Proclaim His goodness, Proclaim His greatness!

  35. 21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.

As in the first verse of this chapter God is speaking loud and clear to His people and letting them know that he has formed them and is in control of their very existence. There is never a moment that God does not know were we are, who we are or what our needs are. Because of this we should trust him and let our faith be in Him.

  36. No matter how many false God’s rise up, there is still only one true God. He is the one who is able to save us from all danger. We serve the one and only true God.

  37. 13 The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.

All too often we think of ourselves all too highly, and we measure ourselves amongst ourselves.

  38. 9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Time after time, the Israelites would get in trouble for running to idols again and again. This is one of the things that is so detestable to God he make it part of the 10 commandments.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.

This is why the world is took a plummet, God hates false idol worship because He is the only true and living God, and there is none beside him. He know no other Gods. So when we rear up gods, that are in essence nothing, it like choosing nothing having the choice of having Him, who is everything.

God rid this country of its false idols, and let us serve the one and true God, Jesus Christ.

  39. 6. Thus saith the LORD the King of Is’-ra-el, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. No other God !!!!

  40. 6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

There is no God but my God. Beside him is no God, he is the first and the last. And since chapter deals with making other gods and worshipping them. May I not make a god in my life that takes the place of Jesus and his plan for me.
