Isaiah 66

Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord that rendereth recompence to his enemies.

Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

11 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

14 And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the Lord.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lordout of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.

21 And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord.

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

  1. Just realized that I blogged the wrong chapter yesterday as this was meant for today’s chapter. Verse 2 AMP “For all these things My hand has made, So all these things came into being [by and for Me],” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look [graciously], To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands.” Same verse NLT “My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine.[a] I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.” This reminded me of song “Bless The Lord Oh My Soul” and Psalm 103. Verses 17-18 of Psalm 103 NLT says “But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!”

  2. 1. This is what the LORD says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place? NLT

God only had to speak and the Universe came into being; and as large as it is, it still can’t contain how great He is, yet He chooses to live inside our hearts. Only when we realize and utilize the power that is within us will we begin to be what He called us to be.

  3. 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith theLord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

God pays attention to those with contrite hearts. To those who humble themselves and allow God to deal with them . We must stay sensitive to God so that he can work in us and through us.

  4. Isaiah 66:1-2 (AMP)
    1) Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool. Where, then, is a house that you could build for Me? And where will My resting place be?
    2) For all these things My hand has made, so all these things came into being (by and for Me), declares the LORD. But to this one will I look (graciously), To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who (reverently) trembles at My word and honors My commands.

“Where is a house that you could build for Me or Where will my resting place be?”
We are the temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16), and He wants to find that resting place in our hearts. But the only way He can do that is if we become humble and broken before Him and Fear (with reverence) His Word and Obey It.

    LORD, Let Thy Kingdom Come!

  5. Isaiah 66
    Amplified

    To God Be The Glory!
18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. The time is coming to gather all nations and languages, and they will come and see My glory. 19 I will set up a [miraculous] sign among them, and from them I will send survivors to the nations: Tarshish, Pul (Put), Lud, Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant islands and coastlands that have not heard of My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare and proclaim My glory among the nations. 20 Then they shall bring all your countrymen (children of Israel) from all the nations as a grain offering to the Lord—on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules and on camels—to My holy mountain Jerusalem,” says the Lord, “just as the sons of Israel bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord. 21 I will also take some of them as priests and Levites,” says the Lord.

To God Be The All the Glory
Although this is a prophecy I believe it also declares the Kingdom of God that is taking place amongst us. We are going to reach nations, we are going to see people coming in all types of vehicles, coming from all walks of life. They are not going to look like us yet His kingdom will be glorified. We are just mere vessels He wants to use to draw nations, entire congregations that are seeking for truth. To see His Glory manifested among the sanctuary,in the streets,on the job, where ever we go. I laugh when some think they are the ones in control, they are the one prize possession that Gid has used and want to recieve glory and recognition for their accomplishments. God used a mere donkey one day to speak because of the disobedience of his servant who was about to be slain by an unseen sword. A donkey ! Awe that we too would be replaced by a mere donkey. The donkey had no way of saying it was all about his abilities. Only God could get the glory for making a donkey talk. So we too must keep in mind where Gid brought us from and that if it had not been for His power put into us we are nothing. So today To God Be All The Glory thy Kingdom come thy will be done!

  6. “Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Receive your Rest
Mentally, physically exhausted? I know what you need!
Just lift up those hands and receive your rest. A long time ago I was praying with my aunt and I heard the words “I thank you Lord for your presence when I call upon your name”. So of course later that night working a long 3rd shift I was alone and discovered the fact that calling his name I could feel his presence.
I was new in the Holy Ghost so this kept my Faith high. It wasn’t until I heard Pastor say “Recieve your Rest” when I finally realized the antidote that was keeping me going this whole time. My God is so good, and his presence is Heaven to me because there’s nothing like it. So in a time of stress, a time of exhaustion, go ahead and lift those hands and recieve your Rest.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  7. 1 This is what the Lord says: “heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?
2 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” Declares the Lord. “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word.

  8. 12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

Whenever we are doing alter call in G-force, I explain to the children, that many feel the Holy Ghost touching them, and it feels like their momma giving them a big hug, holding them tight. They look at me kind of weird, but as they start praying they look at feel it, and they tell me afterwards that they felt it just like I told them.

  9. 1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
For “the earth is the Lord ’s, and everything in it.”
    1 Corinthians 10:26 NLT
    Everything is the Lord
Nothing we have or do is our it’s the Lord

  10. THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM

Searching the scriptures from a perspective of seek first the Kingdom of GOD. Opens my eyes to a deeper understanding of the mercy, love and favor of GOD. Also the convincing judgement that is promised to those that refuse to submit to The Kingdom of GOD is terrifying.

Here we witness the confidence of the KING of Kings. HE declares HIS ownership and authority of everything. We are wise to acknowledge the deity and power of JESUS, in preparation for HIS eternal Kingdom.

As we approach JESUS with humility and awe in observance of and to HIS Kingdom, by our humble approach our spirit cries to JESUS. Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done. JESUS owns and operates everything we know and see. Seek HIM FIRST.

  11. 1 This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?
2 My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. (NLT)

There is nothing we can give God that isn’t already His, we can’t outgive God – He is the King of kings who owns it all! So I will give all that I can, I will build Him a house of praise just because I find Him worthy!

  12. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:
    Isaiah 66:10 KJV

The people have been either slain or carried away into Babylon. Jerusalem’s walls have been torn down. The land lays desolate. The temple is ravished and burned to the ground. The palace and every fine house is likewise destroyed. The dead bodies are unburied and food for the wild animals who now roam unhindered through what once were streets of commerce and festivity. The enemy has done his best job of destruction yet to that which was called “Holy Unto the LORD.” The people of God are overcome with mourning for all they have seen and been through.

Nevertheless, God looks upon the same scene and tells the people to rejoice. God, who sees the end from the beginning, says to be glad. What looks like failure and devastation to man is cause for rejoicing; for when man is brought to the end of himself, God can cause His glory to shine. God can raise the rubble of a humbled life into a glorious testimony of His mercy and grace. No matter what the enemy has done, no matter how much devastation sin has wrought, it’s never over as long as God says “rejoice.”

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
    1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

Therefore I will look unto the Lord ; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.
    Micah 7:7‭-‬8 KJV

  13. 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the Lord: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

Natural birth comes with pain and travail (a laborious effort). Spiritual birth is the same. It is preceded with labor, effort, for a soul to be born again. Bible Studies and prayer for a particular person or prayer for souls in our region takes effort as we must war against spiritual wickedness in high places. Here we have a promise that before the travail (effort) or pain, there was birth. I believe this is what God will do this year at POFW as His Kingdom Comes. Yes we will reach, teach, read, pray, war in the spirit…but there is a harvest already planned from seed that has been sown. We must be of a humble and contrite spirit as we continue to pray for his kingdom to come and his will to be done.

  14. iLove the Kingdom
1This is what the Lord says:
    “Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Could you build me a temple as good as that?
Could you build me such a resting place?
    2My hands have made both heaven and earth;
they and everything in them are mine.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!

This is a Kingdom principle that we all need to catch the revelation of. The whole earth belongs to the Lord. We just read it…”My hands have made both heaven and earth and EVERYTHING in them are mine.” God owns everything…He owns all the cattle, all the minerals, all the oil, all the corn, all the cotton, EVERYTHING… The question is, if God owns everything why do we think we own “anything”? In all honesty, we are only stewards of what belongs to the KING. If God asks me to give $100, should I not give it freely? Is it mine…It belongs to him anyway, so we all must learn to freely give…THY KINGDOM COME, THY WILL BE DONE

  15. “My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How do you enter the Kings Palace? It’s sad to think that we have matter manners when going to visit a museum or place of business than the Kings House.

BBC.com has a list of Dos and Don’ts when meeting the Queen. I believe the same can be applied to meeting the King of all kings.

    1. Curtsey or bow (the head only) – although you can also shake hands or do a combination of the two.

“Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭95:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As we enter the presence of the Kingdom of God, we HUMBLY bow to our Maker.

“Exalt the Lord our God! Bow low before his feet, for he is holy!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭99:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    2. Use the right greetings. On presentation to the Queen, the correct address is Your Majesty and subsequently Ma’am.

“O nations of the world, recognize the Lord; recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong.”
    ‭‭
When worshipping the King of kings we first recognize who He is.

“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND Lord OF LORDS.”
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭19:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    3. Be early. Guests should arrive before a royal.

“And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:” Genesis‬ ‭19:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I wait for Your words. Psalms 119:147

    4. Take the Queen’s lead. Don’t talk unless spoken to, sit until she sits or begin eating until she does.

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Now we must Follow the King of Kings through His Kingdom doing as His word instructs us.

  16. “for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”

The church of old would have sounds of travail in prayer prior to moves of God! We must get back to it! There is a deeper level of prayer that we as the church body can move into and as soon as we do, new life is birthed! There is already a mighty move of God in our prayer meetings but I believe God has more for us!!!! Glory to God! Thankful to be a part of endtime revival in POFW!

  17. 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith theLord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

It is important to God that we keep the right sprit at all time not only when things work out for us.
Man look at the outward appearance but God See’s the heart!!

  18. 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

There are many ways to move God. These verse tells how Israel moved God to send and choose their delusions and bring their fears upon them. Because they choose that which did not delight God and did not listen or answer when God called. May I learn from Israel’s mistake listen for God, answer when and where he calls and choose what delights the Lord.

  19. God has always assured his chosen people in Israel that they will not ultimately be forsaken. His mercy is beyond compare! Notice however, that the gentiles were expected to be abundantly blessed… not just a partial blessing of the promise, but as a flowing steam of the peace of God! ‘For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream’

This wasn’t done by happenstance, ‘For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.’ It was God’s intent to include us all in his new covenant with man. He is not looking for our heritage in this covenant however, he is looking at our works and even our thoughts. Are our works truly pleasing unto him, is our heart really into it, where do our thoughts take us? He is willing to gather those whose first desire is unto him from any nation and any tongue… and we’ll get to experience his glory!

‘For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.’ Imagine the magnitude of this promise! Imagine what God is willing to provide to a people who have a heart that follows hard after his own! Not just the provision for our life, but the sustenance for our family! Yes, they’ll still have to make their own choice and take their own stand, but God himself will help them! Just as he has provided for us, he will remember our heart and allow his desire to reach out to them. What greater helper can you possibly need! That flowing steam of his peace needs to be established in our very homes!

  20. Josiah: 5 Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
No matter what this world does to us we should still be a Christian. Not just a Christian at church but everywhere and to everyone. The Bible says we reap what we sow. So, if we act bad to certain people then we may reap bad consequences or things. God will judge everyone by their actions. So, let us GO let people see who we are by OUR ACTIONS!

  21. 1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.

4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

The Jews gloried much in their temple. But what satisfaction can the Eternal Mind take in a house made with men’s hands? God has a heaven and an earth of his own making, and temples of man’s making; but he overlooks them, that he may look with favour to him who is poor in spirit and serious, self-abasing and self-denying; whose heart truly sorrows for sin: such a heart is a living temple for God. The sacrifice of the wicked is not only unacceptable, but a great offence to God. And he that now offers a sacrifice after the law, does in effect set aside Christ’s sacrifice. He that burns incense, puts contempt upon the incense of Christ’s intercession, and is as if he blessed an idol. Men shall be deceived by the vain confidences with which they deceive themselves. Unbelieving hearts, and unpurified consciences, need no more to make them miserable, than to have their own fears brought upon them. Whatever men put in the place of the priesthood, atonement, and intercession of Christ, will be found hateful to God.

  22. 2 “I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.

If we all could only have a humble heart, how easy it would be to serve God. But the spirit of pride comes into many, and rather watch others do work versus serving in the Kingdom.

  23. For all these things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord. But to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word..

  24. 1-2 God’s Message: “Heaven’s my throne, earth is my footstool. What sort of house could you build for me? What holiday spot reserve for me? I made all this! I own all this!” God’s Decree. “But there is something I’m looking for: a person simple and plain, reverently responsive to what I say.

God you have everything in your hand, yet you want me. God I give everything I am, all that I am is yours God and I give it freely to you for you deserve all of it! I give myself, my praise and worship all to you!

  25. v13 As one whom his mother comforteth , so will I comfort you ;
And ye shall be comforter in Jerusalem.

Thank you JESUS for the Holy Ghost, the comforter, teacher And our guide.

  26. I Love To Worship The Lord
contrite hearts means to be completey penitent feeling in remorse
+and affected by guilt he does not pay attention to the spiritually proud to the contrite and humble

  27. 7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

The pain of a mother giving birth to her child is an allegory to the church going they transitional pain before and while to come grows. Whether it’s leaving the church or saints being attack… The church will ensure pain before it grows

  28. 8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

Everything worth keeping was brought into existence through a process. We must not neglect the processes but accept it and grow with it. A lack of travail means a lack of spiritual children. Time is also apart of the process.

Then when we have all the spiritual children we must train them which is also a process. So, let us not become bored with the process or think light of it. For it is all nessesary to develop independent successful disciples.

  29. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

When the Kingdom of God comes unto us, all flesh will want to come worship Him and partake of His glory that will fill the place. It is our duty to share what we are experiencing as we establish His kingdom in our lives, our sanctuary, our family, everything we do, to everyone that we meet, creating a hunger in their lives to experience the same.

  30. 1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

Lord, let this vessel be your sanctuary. Let me be a willing vessel for you to use. Use me, guide me, save me, mold me.

  31. 16 For by fire and by his sword will the Lord plead with all flesh: and the slain of the Lord shall be many.

The thing that poped out to me in this verse by fire and sword. Or we could say by Spirit and the Word will he plead with all felsh.

  32. ““Your acts of worship are acts of sin: Your sacrificial slaughter of the ox is no different from murdering the neighbor; Your offerings for worship, no different from dumping pig’s blood on the altar; Your presentation of memorial gifts, no different from honoring a no-god idol. You choose self-serving worship, you delight in self-centered worship—disgusting! Well, I choose to expose your nonsense and let you realize your worst fears, Because when I invited you, you ignored me; when I spoke to you, you brushed me off. You did the very things I exposed as evil, you chose what I hate.””
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:3-4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Self centered sacrifices

People think that since they are doing something good at church that Jesus has to approve and be honored. That is not the case. Sometimes these things are for self gain. When it is for self gain then it is self centered and God rejects the sacrifices because they are a worship of self and not God.

  33. 12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

  34. Hear this message from the Lord , all you who tremble at his words: “Your own people hate you and throw you out for being loyal to my name. ‘Let the Lord be honored!’ they scoff. ‘Be joyful in him!’ But they will be put to shame(Isaiah 66:5 NLT)

When people try to put us down for our convictions and standards, we can take heart that though they mock us they will not succeeded. The Lord is our strength and though they try to break us down God will lift us up. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

  35. 12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

Nothing is as sweet as an innocent, trusting baby, and maternal instincts prompt us to protect and cuddle these small ones. Here in verse 1, Isaiah describes the motherly side of God, who nurses, carries and bounces a child on his knees. God expresses the qualities of both genders. This tender description wraps his people in the comfort and security of his eternal love.
