Jeremiah 1

The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:

To whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

12 Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

13 And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.

14 Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.

19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

  1. Verse 5 AMP “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], And before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” What an honor and privilege to serve in the kingdom of God. Thank you Lord as I come with a grateful heart for allowing me to take part.

Verses 7-8 MSG “God told me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a boy.’ I’ll tell you where to go and you’ll go there. I’ll tell you what to say and you’ll say it. Don’t be afraid of a soul. I’ll be right there, looking after you.” God’s Decree. Talk about a warranty/guarantee. Thank you Jesus.

Verses 18-19 MSG “Stand at attention while I prepare you for your work. I’m making you as impregnable as a castle, Immovable as a steel post, solid as a concrete block wall. You’re a one-man defense system against this culture, Against Judah’s kings and princes, against the priests and local leaders. They’ll fight you, but they won’t even scratch you. I’ll back you up every inch of the way.” God’s Decree. Yes, Lord…..impregnable, immovable kingdom of God. Happy Thanksgiving POFW family!

  2. 7 But the Lord said to me, do not say, I am only a child. You must go to everyone I send you two and say whatever I command you.
8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord.
9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth And said to me now I have put my words in your mouth.

  3. 9Then the LORD reached out and touched my mouth and said, “Look, I have put my words in your mouth!

If you have the calling, God will speak through you. Even if you’re not prepared to give a message, God will speak for you. No matter how young or old, God will speak for you. Not only as a Pastor, but any position you serve, God will speak for you. Don’t be afraid to serve God, he will speak for you.

  4. 7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. (NLT)

You’re not too young ISM and as for Motion, it’s high time for us as millenials. It’s time for young us young people to take off running with the baton our elders and leaders have been passing us. Go where He leads! He has called us to stand against kingdoms and defend His Kingdom (vs. 10 and 17-19). Verse 19, “And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.” Reminds me of a song we just learned: “We are mighty and we are strong. Called for battle… We are Champions! We are strong; a holy nation standing as one. We’re walking in victory with God on our side!”

  5. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

As we begin walking out “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done, and we activate the power that is already within, the Lord will bring us through so that we are victorious every day.

Who or what can stand against with God on our side? Nothing and no one will prevail.

  6. Who me??

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord God ! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord .
    Jeremiah 1:5‭-‬8 KJV

Like Moses, Jeremiah has that “Who? Me??” response when God called him to speak for him. It seems that God may not be in the habit of calling people to do what they already believe they are qualified to do.

I once knew a preacher, and when he was a young man his pastor asked him if he liked chicken. Upon answering affirmatively, the pastor replied, “Good, because God has called many a chicken into the ministry!”

We know from Scripture that God gave both Moses and Jeremiah the courage and the boldness they needed along the way, even to face opposition and persecution. As the saying goes, God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips those He calls.

Don’t doubt the calling just because you doubt yourself.

  7. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
    Jeremiah 1
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

Jeremiah a’s first response to the call of God was; he ws just a mere child Famous words Do Not Afraid. When God calls us to work for the kingdom then He will equip you for the call. Gid will place people into your that only you may be able to reach. He will fill your mouth with what to say. No matter what age or even your spiritual age He will empower you for the Kingdom.

  8. NO MORE EXCUSES

4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

The Kingdom of GOD is established, JESUS is KING of Kings. He SPEAKS we respond. This is the ultimate plan of GOD. However, often GOD speaks and we do not listen, do not obey or do not believe we can.

The most important concept of the Kingdom of GOD is FAITH. FAITH expresses: Trust in GOD
    Obedience to GOD
    Confidence in Prayer
    Commitment in Lifestyle
    Sacrifice in Giving
    Love in Relationship
    Willingness to Obey
    Victorious in Battle
    Thankful in Everything

When we totally and exclusively TRUST in the LORD we without fear or excuse, we demonstrate our FAITH in and LOVE for JESUS and HIS Kingdom.

When we make excuses to not do what GOD is saying to do. We disrupt the flow of HIS Kingdom, we reveal insecurities, we expose our own weakness. The prophet Jeremiah made excuses and GOD immediately comforted and encouraged him.

He gave great advice for preachers, SPEAK what JESUS says and do not look at the responses on the faces of those hearing.

Lets GO speak the word of GOD and make NO MORE EXCUSES.

Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving to ALL!

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done

  9. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

God does not call the qualified, and he called the willing and qualifies them. I can remember many times in my ministry where God has placed someone to teach me and take me under their wing to do what he has called me in the Kingdom. When God called David, he was but a child and he spend many years being trained through trials for when he became king. I believe God is just looking for able body people, some people that are just willing to do whatever He asks. Jesus spoke a parable about preparing for a feast and all the people that the master asked first were unavailable so he went to the highways and asked who he saw, and he spoke another parable where a man went out and sought laborers, just anyone willing to work. We need not to worry about IF we are able to do something, but that we just endure the training God puts us through to be able to do it.

  10. 6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

You are not to young or old to answer the calling from GOD
Jeremiah live when GOD called Jeremiah he thought he was to young that he couldn’t not be used . So GoD was with Jeremiah he put word in his mouth

They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the Lord , have spoken!”
    Jeremiah 1:19 NLT
    GOD will never leave you

  11. “And the word of the Lord came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land. For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the Lord; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:13-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    What do you see?

I find it interesting here how God asked, Jeremiah said an object, and then God interpreted. I have heard many people today say that they interpret the visions that God shows them. Watch out! That bubbling pot doesn’t necessarily sound bad, but God’s words about the pot are horrible. When we see a vision we need to be diligent in seeking after what God says that it is so that we don’t speak good of what God is trying to warn us with.

  12. 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Those who God calls he equips. Jeramiah was called since before he was born but didn’t believe he had the ability to do what God called him to do. God had to literally put His words in his mouth to get him to prophesy but once he did he became one if the most well know prophets in the bible.

  13. Jeremiah 1:9-10
    9) Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
    10) See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Not only has the LORD put HIS Words into our mouth to share the Gospel with others, but HE has given us Authority to root out, pull down, destroy, throw down, and to build and plant.

  14. iLove the Kingdom 👑
“Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Just like the Prophet Jeremiah, we all seem to have excuses. Jeremiah though he was too old, many others think they are too old, still some think they were too bad, and even more think they are too busy to do the will of the King. God leaves no room for excuses. He says (Basically), “Hey, do my will and I’ll take care of you. We must always remember that, We can do all things Christ that strengthens me!”

  15. 17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

We have been given His word to speak, and so why do we have such a hard time telling others? Maybe it’s because we become dismayed and confounded because we take our eyes off Jesus, and put them on man.

  16. “GOD told me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m only a boy.’ I’ll tell you where to go and you’ll go there. I’ll tell you what to say and you’ll say it. Don’t be afraid of a soul. I’ll be right there, looking after you.” GOD ’s Decree.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Go
    With Boldness
Go and don’t doubt yourself, know that God has it all planned out. So don’t say you’re just a a boy/girl. Don’t say you’re just another person in this world. First you have to get it through your head you’re not just A JUST type of person. You are a child of God, a deciple being used each and every day. Let God lead your lips, let God lead your walk. But in the midst of it all GO knowing you’re mighty. GO knowing you could impact someone’s life by sharing your testimony, by telling them what God has brought you from.

    GO, go with BOLDness
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  17. 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

  18. 7 But the Lord said to me, do not say, I am only a child. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.
8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord.

It is important to believe and speak the same thing God says about you. You are beloved, highly favored, chosen, royalty, a one of a kind treasure, holy, and the apple of His eye. We do not have to be afraid when we are doing His work because He is with us!

  19. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

  20. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

When you are going with God you can rest assured that victory is yours.

  21. 18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. 19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.

I am THANKFUL to be apart of His Kingdom!
Yes, there will be battles. Yes, there will be hard times.
But FEAR NOT for We are already on the winning side! We have already been equipped, Let’s GO in Jesus Name!

  22. Josiah: When God tells us to GO do something He will make a way. It is more important to please God than this world. Who cares if we please this whole world if we displease God. And, who cares if we displease this whole world if we please God. As God told Jeremiah “8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” The Bible tells us the harvest is great but the labourers are few. Matthew 22:14 says “For many are called, but few are chosen.” So, when God calls us to GO DO SOMETHING we should GO WHOLEHEARTEDLY, and do it, for the Lord will be with us as long as we are faithful!

  23. These words spoken to the prophet are sound for us today: ‘Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them. For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land. And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.’

As ambassadors of the kingdom, we are likewise expected to speak up for God to the world, regardless of the contenance of their face. We do not speak to please, we speak to represent the king! Notice the warning to Jeremiah if his words were so chosen… God would confound him before them. He tells us not to worry about the words we speak beforehand because God is with us, but if our heart seeks to please men rather than God, he will not bless our speech. We will appear as fools in front of those we sought to appease.

That may seem harsh, but God wants us to choose whom we’re going to serve. If we serve him, his hand will protect and defend us. If we’re ashamed of him, then he is likewise ashamed of us. Because THEY SHALL FIGHT against us. It is not a possibility, it is a certainty, because we’re in a spiritual warfare. God expects us to choose and he expects our choice to be without reservation. After all, he did not hold anything back in his sacrifice, so should we not follow that perfect example and be whole heartedly committed unto him! In Jesus name!

  24. I Love To Worship The Lord
    vs 5
This verse was not however originally intended as ammunition in our times of battle over portions it was intended to comfort Jeremiah. The prophet was deeply aware of his own sensitive nature and felt totally inadequate for the task God assigned.

  25. 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

It doesn’t matter how old you are God can do anything through you. God will give you what you need. You don’t have to be perfect.

  26. Hannah: “19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.” The Lord is what strengthens me and he gives guidance me. Through him all things are possible and none can stand against him. He is my provider and my deliver. He always deserves the highest praises for what he has done for us, what he is doing right now and what he will do for us. Every day I am so thankful for everything he has done in my life. He is a mighty and an awesome God. Always give Him the highest praises and place him first before everything.

  27. 5Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

He knows us before we ever know who he is. He is all that we will ever need.

  28. 4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Before we were ever made, God had plans for us. It is evident in this chapter though that in order for those plans to actually come to pass, we must be willing to be used of God, and have faith that He will provide for us, in those areas we are lacking in skills. So we need not worry nor be afraid that we will not be able to do what God wants us to do! God is a faithful God and with Him we can truly make a difference in this world! The times won’t always be easy and the times won’t always be the way we want to be going, but trust in God, for He definitely knows what He is doing in our lives when we don’t. Praise the Lord for His great and mighty acts!

  29. 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

I’m so thankful that even before I came into this world my God knew me. You are such an infinite and All Knowing God. Thank you, Jesus!

  30. 17 Thou therefore grid up thy loins, and speak unto them all that I command thee, be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

  31. 11 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou?

God gave Jeremiah a view of the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem by the Chaldeans. The almond-tree, which is more forward in the spring than any other, represented the speedy approach of judgments. God also showed whence the intended ruin should arise. Jeremiah saw a seething-pot boiling, representing Jerusalem and Judah in great commotion. The mouth or face of the furnace or hearth, was toward the north; from whence the fire and fuel were to come. The northern powers shall unite. The cause of these judgments was the sin of Judah. The whole counsel of God must be declared. The fear of God is the best remedy against the fear of man. Better to have all men our enemies than God our enemy; those who are sure they have God with them, need not, ought not to fear, whoever is against them. Let us pray that we may be willing to give up personal interests, and that nothing may move us from our duty.

  32. 17 Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.

Let’s not be afraid to preach the truth to those who need it. God is control.

  33. Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that’s what I had in mind for you.”

We are all brought into this world to serve a divine purpose. God will lead us to try and convince us of following Him, but ultimately it’s our choice. There are only two paths, contrary to popular belief. One leads to eternal damnation and the other life everlasting.

God has something in mind, but are we willing to allow him to develop it in us for his Kingdom?

    The choice is yours!

  34. 9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

The Lord God will root out of our lives the carnal, the sin, and then build a temple where he can dwell. He plants in us the fruits of the spirit where they begin to grow and be evident as grow in him.

  35. Jeremiah1;19 And they shall fight against you, but they shall not finally prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you. Thank you Lord for giving me divine strength and power of the Holy Ghost to fight the devil. I will be overcomer with you Jesus to spread the good news about you and your power . To go and tell my testimony to this world. Bless America today Lord and give you glory and honer.

  36. 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Jeremiah was preparing himself to follow himself into priesthood, until his heavenly Father calls him to a bigger mission and with greater responsibility as a prophet of God. Timid Jeremiah is believes he is too young and inadequate in public speaking to be God messenger. Men of God before him have made this claim also like Moses (Ex 3:11;4:10) and Isaiah (Isa 6:5). God reminds Jeremiah of the power in his ministry by saying “I formed you… I knew you… I set you apart… I appointed you… I am with you and will rescue you.. I have put my words in you mouth” when God appoints a person to a specific task or life calling he provides the resources for his glory.

  37. Kingdome Perspective

Too often I too have felt “But Lord I am a child” Yet, God is telling us that as long as we are walking in the spirit age is not a factor when it comes to the miraculous and the message of Hope.

We must change our perspective! When God says Go, who are we to question his command? The command of the King is to be carried out without question and hesitation. Fear should not be a factor but faith is the guide when it comes to the Kings orders. It is important to stay in the spirit because He will give the words to say, the places to go, and the actions to take when we get there.

  38. “Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them, or I will make you look foolish in front of them(Jeremiah 1:17 NLT)

We need to get out of our comfort zones and prepare ourselves to focus on the kingdom of God. We must be lined up with God and be ready to GO when the enemy may seem stronger. If we do not stand on the word of truth then the Lord himself will humble us before them. When we trust that our God will not allow any enemy or weapon formed against us to prosper then we have the victory.

  39. 16 And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.

It seems we have a skewed definition of idols. We only see idols like those mentioned in the Old Testament such as the Israelites worshipping a golden calf. An idol can be any person; object or activity you give a higher priority in your life than your relationship with God. An idol can be your home, your job, a vehicle, a relationship, or even your family. An idol can be a pet, a computer, or what you look at on that computer. An idol can be alcohol, drugs, sex, or any sin. An idol can be the work you do for the Kingdom that consumes all your energy and time. God says He’s a jealous God. He wants our time and attention.
