Jeremiah 2

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord.

Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:

Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?

Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children’s children will I plead.

10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.

11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.

13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.

16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head.

17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way?

18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts.

20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?

22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord God.

23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.

26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets.

27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.

28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord.

30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

31 O generation, see ye the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?

32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways.

34 Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.

35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.

36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.

37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.

  1. It is not wise to turn our back on God. Unfortunately, God’s people do this too often. When we think God should have intervened at a certain time, but God waits till the right time. If God had stepped in earlier in our trial, we might have tried to take the glory. When we wait for God to do it on his time, there is no mistake that our situation changed because of God. We should continue to put God first and he will raise us up at the right time.

  2. Jeremiah 2:13 & 18
    13) For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living water, and hewed them out cisterns, broke cisterns, that can hold no water.
    18) And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?

JESUS is the only ONE who can satisfy your thirst. JESUS is the only ONE who can satisfy your soul. JESUS Is The FOUNTAIN Of LIVING WATER!
St. John 4:14, “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

  3. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

19 Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you. Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you for sake the Lord your God and have no awe of me, declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty

  4. Jeremiah 2

“My people have committed two sins:
    They have forsaken me,
    the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

The problem here was the people allowed sin to get into their life. There container became contaminated their cistern causing an erosion to wear away the container of the living water. A cistern holds fresh water to replenish when the container has been emptied. Jesus said He was the Spring of Living water. When we allow the world sin cares of life to eat at us then our container can begin to leak. We no longer can get into the presence of God and be filled because we have a hole ln our container. This is why so many people struggle to live for God. They get a good touch from God but they never can have complete victory. So what can we do. We must rid everything out of life that is causing this erosion to occur . . Walk away from sin . Guard your heart allow Him to keep you filled and not the things of this world. This will keep your container from getting holes in it. You will be replenished daily by getting in the Word abd allowing His Living Water to freely flow in your life.

  5. When we Turn you back on GOD that that when he takes his hands OK so you think you can do this I guess that what a lot of people think in this world they know their is a GOD but they refuse to listen they fear the gods of this world and not the GOD that created this so this made me think about church when you leave the church you are telling GOD I don’t need you and more I am going may own way that when GoD said OK so you got this
But for me GOD I don’t got this I need you I need you to take controlt because I can’t live without I can’t do without you

  6. ““Go and shout this message to Jerusalem. This is what the Lord says: “I remember how eager you were to please me as a young bride long ago, how you loved me and followed me even through the barren wilderness.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We must. I must remember the joy and the fight I had when I first came to the Lord. We must remover the gutter where he got us from. How he loved me how he raised me. How he filled me with the Holy Ghost. JESUS let me not draw far from you

  7. iLove the Kingdom
Jeremiah 2:35-37 KJV  Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned… (37)  Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.

So many folks out there somehow think they are good folks. I have family out there that are “good” folks and do not understand their need for God. This verse and others like it very clearly remind us that we should not think that we are perfect. As humans, we all have a sin problem and that challenge must be conquered every day.

  8. THY KINGDOM COME

It seems that in todays society that everyone is innocent of any sin. This verse reminded me of where we are in time and what the world is becoming spiritually. People who refuse to acknowledge GOD and recognize HIS Kingdom, repeatedly take advantage of others, build and serve their own idols and then confess that that they have done nothing wrong.

    Look the MSG version:

33-35 “What an impressive start you made
to get the most out of life.
    You founded schools of sin,
    taught graduate courses in evil!
And now you’re sending out graduates, resplendent in cap and gown—
except the gowns are stained with the blood of your victims!
    All that blood convicts you.
You cut and hurt a lot of people to get where you are.
And yet you have the gall to say, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.
God doesn’t mind. He hasn’t punished me, has he?’
Don’t look now, but judgment’s on the way,
aimed at you who say, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.’

Thy Kingdom Come says to us; Repent, Humble yourself, invite the WORD and correction of GOD into our lives, families and homes. Cleanse ourselves from sin, separate ourselves from this world and its system, be holy in thought, heart, intent, conversation, action, attitude, attire and activity.

Asking and allowing GOD to search us and know our thoughts, to examine us to see whether we are of the FAITH.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap

  9. 7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Too many of us pray and seek God for a “blessing” that we want from Him, but when He does bless us, we turn that blessing into a curse by forgetting the God of the blessing until we need something else.

God is an “everyday, every minute” God that desires to be acknowledged continually in our lives. This is how we build relationship with Him. In the good, bad, the ups or the downs He wants to be acknowledged as our God. We can’t put Him away like a toy on the shelf until we need Him or we will be replicating what Israel did. When it was convenient for them, they needed God, but then they disregarded Him until they had a need again.

    Everyday this is my prayer:
I need thee Oh I need thee, Every hour I need thee
Bless me now my Savior, I come to thee

  10. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?

The children of Israel fell every time they became too comfortable, or they were not being attacked they became complacent and greedy asking for more from what want theirs, that was when they started to fall. It’s easy to fall into that place when good has delivered and blesses us, we can become set in our routine and fall away if we don’t hold that fear of God in us

  11. Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord . …O generation, see ye the word of the Lord . Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are Lords; we will come no more unto thee? …Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
    Jeremiah 2:29‭, ‬31‭-‬31‭, ‬35 KJV

It is amazing how men will use every standard in the world by which to judge their innocence EXCEPT the Word of the Lord. We insist upon going our own way, regardless of what God says, then deem ourselves to be worthy His intervention when judgment comes.

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
    Ecclesiastes 8:11 KJV

God, in His mercy, holds off judgment hoping to give men time to repent. However, men misinterpret mercy as license to continue in sin and validation of their wayward lifestyles. We must judge ourselves by the Word of God alone, and know that sin always brings death, regardless of how long we seem to get away with it.

  12. 2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

We need to be careful not to pull away from our first love, and that even in the difficult times we would pursue after Him!

  13. 29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord.

These verses make me think of how people live for God today. They are born again and live for God for many years, then through the circumstances of life or being at ease in Zion, they drift away, not even realizing they are backslid. People can be backslid while coming to church. We must shake ourselves, wake up and return to the Lord with our whole hearts and live for him with the zeal of the brand new convert. God is still calling us, drawing us closer to him so that we can stand through the evil days.

  14. 12 The heavens are shocked at such a thing
and shrink back in horror and dismay,”
    says the Lord.

    The Heavens were shooketh!

If you have seen the news or current events, you can tell that the state of the world is in chaos. As we learned chaos is a product of religion.

God gave Man dominion over the Earth HE just created.
What you don’t control, controls you. Man searches for control of that kingdom, that’s why this world is in chaos. This church will bring order back to the chaos.

Religion wants to escape the earth, Kingdom IMPACTS the earth.
Religion seeks to take earth to Heaven, Kingdom seeks to bring Heaven to earth.

As we continue to bring THY KINGDOM, we must also show the love of Jesus Christ to IMPACT those around us!

  15. Jeremiah 2;2 (English Amp) Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem , Thus Says the Lord; I ( earnestly) remember the kindness and devotion of your youth, your love after your betrothal [ in Egypt] and marriage [ at Sinai] when you followed Me on the the wilderness, in a land not sown. Please dont ever forget what Jesus has done for you, God can do anything for you. Cry out to Jesus for this world to be saved. I remember how he brought this alcoholic out of darkness in to his marvelous light. I must shake ourselves and come back to the lord. Praise the Lord

  16. Jeremiah asks a poignant question here of Israel. ‘Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.’ We see so much disparity in denominational Christianity. Some of them have even decided which portions of the Bible they will no longer accept. The response from God is still the same: ‘Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.’

Notice that God refers to two evils: the sin of backsliding from his will from his will was bad enough, but to go even further and partake of that which cannot even hold water and pretend it is sufficient is yet another step into the realm of sin. It is not called liberty, it is a state which we are admonished to be horribly afraid. Our love is shown in our obedience to his will and to his ways. John says it well: ‘And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.’ We don’t get to determine our own ways, we only get to choose whether to follow his ways. We serve a God who does not change, and neither do his ways or expectations. If we want to partake of God’s glory, we’ll need to remain obedient unto his will: to talk as he would talk and to walk as he would walk… in Jesus name!

  17. Josiah: 5 Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
It is humans who choose to leave God. God is always there for us. It was Israel’s choices that caused them to lose God’s protection sometimes. God wants a relationship with us. He wants to use us. Jeremiah was used and God told him to GO do stuff like in verse 2. We do not have to be a great preacher or prophet or evangelist traveling around to be used. We do have to be willing though. So, let us GO WORK in the kingdom of God and be WILLING TO GO as God desires!

  18. But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the Lord. J. Soliz

  19. “Hear GOD ’s Message, House of Jacob! Yes, you—House of Israel! GOD ’s Message: “What did your ancestors find fault with in me that they drifted so far from me, Took up with Sir Windbag and turned into windbags themselves? It never occurred to them to say, ‘Where’s GOD, the God who got us out of Egypt, Who took care of us through thick and thin, those rough-and-tumble wilderness years of parched deserts and death valleys, A land that no one who enters comes out of, a cruel, inhospitable land?’”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Don’t you forget who it was that brought you out!
Who it was that was there the entire time. Remember that the battle is already won. Remember that the battle is not ours, I give God the Glory each and every day and I thank him today for bringing me this far

  20. 9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children’s children will I plead.

Before God punishes sinners, he pleads with them, to bring them to repentance. He pleads with us, what we should plead with ourselves. Be afraid to think of the wrath and curse which will be the portion of those who throw themselves out of God’s grace and favour. Grace in Christ is compared to water from a fountain, it being cooling and refreshing, cleansing and making fruitful: to living water, because it quickens dead sinners, revives drooping saints, supports and maintains spiritual life, and issues in eternal life, and is ever-flowing. To forsake this Fountain is the first evil; this is done when the people of God neglect his word and ordinances. They hewed them out broken cisterns, that could hold no water. Such are the world, and the things in it; such are the inventions of men when followed and depended on. Let us, with purpose of heart, cleave to the Lord only; whither else shall we go? How prone are we to forego the consolations of the Holy Spirit, for the worthless joys of the enthusiast and hypocrite!

  21. 5 Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
6 Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

Living off a promise that is not yours.

As we read in this chapter we see God speaking to Israel. I have been thinking about promises that were promised to my family, but have never come to pass. And as I dwelled on this for a season, I questioned God Why we never saw those things come to pass. And through studying I realized that, those promises were not my promises to worry about. As we read a while back, God’s ways are above ours, and we make decisions that will effect our future. Yes, God wants to bless us, yet we do things that tie God’s hands from doing those things. If I wanted to give out $1 million to someone, I could not physically give it to someone that is in prison.
Are you living on a promise that is not yours? That is a question we must ask ourselves. Although my father is passed away, I cannot live on his promises that God promised to him. I have to have a relationship with God in order to obtain my promises. In our society we want the quickest and easiest way to do and get things, and we don’t want to Work for them. But God is not like that. He awards those that work, those who are not lazy. As the song is sung, I’M claiming my Promise, God’s Promise to me!!!!
We must allow His Kingdom to be Established in our lives, in order to get His promises. So Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done….

  22. 7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

When God blesses us it’s not time to forsake Him and forget His blessings it’s time cling to Him and bless others.

  23. 28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

Even though Judah had many idols, they still are not able to help them or us in our time of trouble. God rightly asks where are your gods (that you made with your own hands) which are not gods at all, now that you need them and are in trouble. Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord!

  24. 31 O generation, see ye the word of the Lord. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
The word of God is now easier to obtain than ever before and yet it is so very common place to meet people that have never even opened up the precious word of God, let alone taken time to read it. We are in a generation that commonly only uses the name of God in a derogatory manner because the love of God has not been placed in there hearts. How vitally important is it for the church to show the world in our word, deed and testimony the love of God. We must listen to Jesus and be the godly example he desires to witness those hurting and lost souls that he places in our path. Their very souls are at stake

  25. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

  26. “And when I brought you into a fruitful land to enjoy its bounty and goodness, you defiled my land and corrupted the possession I had promised you.
    Jeremiah 2:7 NLT

Can you handle a blessing. Sometimes it just may be that God withholds things from us instill he is sure that our hearts are not going to be lost in the blessing. He desires relationship from us and our priority is to seek him first.

  27. The Kingdom is plentiful

7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.

    Joshua 1:3
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Let us remember that He has promised us the land but we must give faithfulness and obedience. He has made us Kings and Priest but those that are fittest to rule must first learn to obey. Obey in the hard times and obey in the land of fruitfulness. For fruitfulness is always a byproduct of faithfulness. The Kingdom is plentiful so let us not defile it with carnality.

  28. 32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

Let’s never forget to put Jesus first in our lives. Matthew 6:33 says that if we put Him first, everything we need will be provided for us.

  29. v35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with their, because thou safest, I have not sinned.

It’s sad when people respond to the preached gospel of CHRIST with apathy and indifference. To yawn at sin and transgressions is dangerous.
We must fervently reject these forces of ungodliness!
Forces of filthy waters of immorality, evil speech, and every imaginable contamination of the spirit.

  30. “Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭2:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Oh the things that we make gods. We might put Faith in something that we shouldn’t. We even place it in a pedi stool and then have toast for help from that thing.

  31. 32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

Now a days it would say can a human being forget their phone? Sometimes we rely more on Google, FB, News, etc than God. We’ll believe a fake video before we believe a verse from the Bible. I don’t want to live a life living like if I don’t need you God! I need you at every step!!! I want to show my children Lord how much we need you every second of our lives. I want to show them that we live and breathe you. I want to show them to have a relationship with you so they cannot depart from you when they grow up.

  32. 17 And you have brought this upon yourselves by rebelling against the Lord your God, even though he was leading you on the way! (NLT)

“You have brought this upon yourselves…” Can’t play the blame game! God is calling, leading, guiding us on our way yet we have the ultimate decision to follow.

  33. 9Therefore, I will bring my case against you,” says the LORD. “I will even bring charges against your children’s children in the years to come.

This one statement should put fear into anyone. Your innocent children could be held accountable for your wrong doing! God will be the judge. For parents have failed to show their children the ways of God. Some one in the family has to break the curse of wrongdoing and decide to follow God.

  34. Verse 17 CEV “It’s all your own fault! You stopped following me, the Lord your God,”. Same verse NLT “And why do you think all this has happened? Isn’t it because you walked out on your God just as he was beginning to lead you in the right way?” A lot of times we pray for direction from God; but, then we don’t like the answer or the direction He is telling us to GO. What we have to understand is that God cannot bless bad decisions; so, we must learn to be obedient whether we agree or don’t fully understand the reasoning at the time.

Joshua 24:15 CEV “But if you don’t want to worship the Lord, then choose right now! Will you worship the same idols your ancestors did? Or since you’re living on land that once belonged to the Amorites, maybe you’ll worship their gods. I won’t. My family and I are going to worship and obey the Lord!”

  35. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

It’s easy to fall into a hollow and shallow world where the glitz and glam is admired and expensive and godliness and holiness is despised and lowly regarded. The pearl of great price is the kingdom of heaven and the riches are found in his Spirit.

  36. Your wickedness will bring its own punishment. Your turning from me will shame you. You will see what an evil, bitter thing it is to abandon the Lord your God and not to fear him. I, the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!(Jeremiah 2:19 NLT)

Our own misdeeds shall bring their own punishment with them. When we allow sin to drift us far away and depart us from God. We don’t know that we are being rebellious towards God. The Lord will show who ever decides to be evil and do such a bitter thing to abandon the Lord our God and for thoses that dont fear the Lord.

  37. 11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.

How quickly we sometimes forget where we came from and who brought us out of the mess that we created for ourselves. All of us can say that God has done great, wonderful, and awesome things in our life. But when the next trial or test comes, are we quick to remember what God has done or do we worry and fret about the future? We should learn to spend time each day remembering God’s goodness. God wants us to pay attention! He wants us to notice.
