Jeremiah 33

Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

For thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

10 Thus saith the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,

11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.

12 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the Lord.

14 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lordour righteousness.

17 For thus saith the Lord; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

19 And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying,

20 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

23 Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,

24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

25 Thus saith the Lord; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

    It took no revelation from God to predict the downfall of Jerusalem. The city was even then under siege by an overwhelming force its inhabitants decimated by plague and starvation . What was inaccessible was the piture drawn for the prophet by the Lord

  2. 11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord………………….

    “You expect to fight the Babylonians, but the men of this city are already as good as dead, for I have determined to destroy them in my terrible anger. I have abandoned them because of all their wickedness.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33:5

    This scripture proves that the battle belongs to the Lord and not to us. These men were prepared to fight against the attack of the enemy but the Lord Of Hosts already considered them dead. It didn’t matter how hard they would fight, didn’t matter how skilled they were, it didn’t matter who the God of their ancestors were, it didn’t matter how state of the art their weaponry was, they simply were not going to win because the Lord had made up His mind already.

    We must determine in our hearts and minds that we will have a personal relationship with the King of Glory.

  4. Jeremiah 33:6-10 (NLT)
    6) Nevertheless, the time will come when I will heal Jerusalem’s wounds and give it prosperity and true peace. 7) I will restore the fortunes of Judah and Israel and rebuild their towns. 8) I will cleanse them of their sins against me and forgive all their sins of rebellion. 9) Then this city will bring me joy, glory, and honor before all the nations of the earth! The people of the world will see all the good I do for my people, and they will tremble with awe at the peace and prosperity I provide for them.
    10) This is what he LORD says, You have said, This is a desolate land where people and animals have all disappeared. Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns, there will be heard once more 11) the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of the the bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyful songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the LORD. They will sing, Give thanks to the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, for the LORD is good. His faithful love endures forever! For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what is was in the past, says the LORD.

    One of the greatest blessings given to us by God is to be forgiven! Thank you Jesus for paying the price so we could be forgiven and extending Your grace, mercy, and forgiveness to us!!!

  6. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.
    Jeremiah 33:12 KJV

    The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
    Psalms 23:1‭-‬3 KJV

    God’s plan for us is that we lie down in peace and safety under the protection of His rod and staff. We if humble ourselves as sheep under a Shepherd, He will guide us with His Eye and protect us by His Might and wisdom. He is a Good Shepherd. We can safely trust in Him.

  7. 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

    God is standing waiting for someone to answer the call to seek him. He is waiting to show us miracles, signs and wonders. God has mighty things in store for his people that we cannot even comprehend the question is who will take advantage of the blessings of God and receive what He wants to give us?
    Merry Christmas!!

  8. 14 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

    Sometimes we have to be pruned so that we can flourish. God’s anger for their sin caused them to be scattered, yet true to His word, He would gather the remnant of people that truly loved Him back together and would rebuild and restore what was destroyed.

    Those who have lost their way can receive this same promise. The choices in life may have destroyed the bright future, but restoration from the Lord can not only give you back what has been taken from you by the enemy but cause you to have more and be greater.

  9. THY KINGDOM COME

    Here GOD planning to restore his people and bring peace and joy he is planning to make them great again GOD has a plan for each of us will he will always followed through

  11. Josiah: 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
    God tells us through His word in Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” God tells us what we have to do, but how much are we willing to ask, willing to knock, willing to seek? The Bible tells us that we reap what we sow. The harvest is great but the labourers are few. So, let us GO LABOR in the kingdom of God and answer our calling!

  12. 2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;

    3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

    Call unto me…the first thing that came to mind is how the Lord desires for us to pray to him. To have that continual communication with Him.

  13. “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The prophetic word is so amazing to me the word says he will show great and mighty things. If you have ever witnessed someone receive the Holy Ghost that’s already one great and mighty thing you’ve witnessed. It don’t stop there though if you stick around in the fire of the Holy Ghost you start seeing blind eyes to open, deaf ears to unclog. You’ll see the lame walk. Then look back and think how in the world am I here seeing this all. Then you remember you was the first miraculous thing that happened in YOUR WALK.

    iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  14. 8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me, and I will pardon all their iniquities,whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

  15. How often have we heard the sad story of someone going through a difficult time who has clearly given up on everything else. Their trial has become their life. Nothing else is any longer of significance until they see the light at the end of their darkened tunnel. They’ve mistakenly decided they just can’t possibly think about doing anything else until somehow the storm has passed over. They may even still speak of the faith they have in God to deliver them from their plight, but the rest of their spiritual life might as well be on hold. The enemy has them exactly where he wants them and they don’t even recognize it.

    Consider in contrast however the introduction of this chapter from Jeremiah. ‘Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison…’ Jeremiah’s words had not just been rejected, they were used as the testimony against him as they locked away the prophet that dared to speak a negative outlook on their situation. He had always been out of favor, they had rarely ever wanted to hear his word from the Lord, yet now things had taken another turn for the worse as they locked him away to further diminish his influence. No one would have blamed him had he chosen to do otherwise, but in the midst of his tribulation the word of the Lord still came to Jeremiah. That implies he was still listening and responding and expecting the Lord to be speaking… because God is bigger than any situation we face!

    When things get difficult, it’s not time to give up, give in, or hunker down in the storm. We need to remember that God is glorified in our weaknesses! We can praise him in the trial… not only can we, that is the perfect time to praise him! He is still worthy, he is still on the throne, and his hand is still in control and He knows exactly what we’re going through. If we really believe that we should act like it! His voice continues to speak… we just have the faith to remain in the position to hear. God is still God and we should praise him at all times!

  16. 11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.
    God always fulfills his word. It is up to us to receive and believe that he will do what he has already told us he will do in our lives. He has never let us down. We need to make sure that we subject our will to him so that he can bring down the path in our lives for his glory and his honor.

  17. 6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

    Merry Christmas!

    Even in the midst of judgment coming their way Jeremiah, who is still in prison continues prophesy. He tells of how God desires to hear from his people and that he will listen. The purpose is to wake his people up from their sinful slumber because they have turned their backs on God. He doesn’t want to harm his people instead he wants to cure and heal them. His anger at their persistence to sin is what drives his wrath. We simply need to seek him and allow him to heal us. Sin reaps death and the goodness of God brings life more abundantly.

  18. 1 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,

    2 Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name;

    3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

    4 For thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

    5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

    6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.

    7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.

    8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

    9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

    Those who expect to receive comforts from God, must call upon him. Promises are given, not to do away, but to quicken and encourage prayer. These promises lead us to the gospel of Christ; and in that God has revealed truth to direct us, and peace to make us easy. All who by sanctifying grace are cleansed from the filth of sin, by pardoning mercy are freed from the guilt. When sinners are thus justified, washed, and sanctified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit, they are enabled to walk before God in peace and purity. Many are led to perceive the real difference between the people of God and the world around them, and to fear the Divine wrath. It is promised that the people who were long in sorrow, shall again be filled with joy. Where the Lord gives righteousness and peace, he will give all needful supplies for temporal wants; and all we have will be comforts, as sanctified by the word and by prayer.

  19. 7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
    8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

    Two things are for sure, God will discipline his children but will show Mercy afterwards. Everything God does and allows has a purpose and it’s essentially to lead them to repentance to be back in God Mercy and grace

  20. 8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

    Thank God for his blood. God has given us and opportunity to be free from sin. Repent daily. Thank you God for mercy!

  21. 3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

    Amen! Amen! Its a promise, the only thing stopping this from happening is if we don’t call unto him! When we call unto him when were in desperation He will show up and give us His great Peace! He can do a miracle, a healing, bring back the prodigal, reach the lost, send laborers, bring His Kingdom, Grow in Him, Receive His Holy Spirit, etc. The things that He can show us are unlimited and beyond what we can think and see!! This is why we can’t stop dreaming and reaching!!! Dreaming of a 2020 120 SOUL REVIVAL, BAPTISMS EVERY SERVICE, SOULS RECIEVING THE HG EVERY SERVICE, HBS INCREASING, CHILDREN SPEAKING IN TONGUES, SOULS GIVING THIER LIFE TO JESUS, FULL BUSES, FULL CLASSES, REACHING THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, SEEING BLIND EYES OPEN, SEEING THE LEAP WALK, MIRACLES, SIGNS, AND WONDERS EVERY SERVICE, AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD MANIFESTED IN EVERY SERVICE!! In Jesus Name!!!

  22. I will restore the fortunes of Judah and Israel and rebuild their towns.(Jeremiah 33:7 NLT)

    The Lord is our restoration and when he says that he will restore the fortunes of Judah and Israel and rebuild their towns for them. I believe that God can do anything he please because he’s the controller and creator of life.

  23. 8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
    9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

    How can we neglect so great a salvation? When we tell of God’s goodness and miracles and the joy we have, it will affect others and help to draw them unto him. Go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born!

  24. Verses 2-3 AMP “Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is His name, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’ What a restoration (a bringing back to a former position or condition, a returning to a normal or healthy condition, the act of returning something that was stolen or taken, the act or process of returning something to its original condition by repairing it, cleaning it, etc.) promise!
