Jeremiah 50

The word that the Lord spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the Lord their God.

They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.

Remove out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the he goats before the flocks.

For, lo, I will raise and cause to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north country: and they shall set themselves in array against her; from thence she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none shall return in vain.

10 And Chaldea shall be a spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the Lord.

11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;

12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

14 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about: all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she hath sinned against the Lord.

15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.

16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.

17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

21 Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: waste and utterly destroy after them, saith the Lord, and do according to all that I have commanded thee.

22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!

24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the Lord.

25 The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses: cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 Slay all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.

28 The voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of his temple.

29 Call together the archers against Babylon: all ye that bend the bow, camp against it round about; let none thereof escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she hath done, do unto her: for she hath been proud against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.

30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord.

31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord Godof hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him.

33 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.

34 Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.

36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.

37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.

38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.

39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts of the islands shall dwell there, and the owls shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited for ever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities thereof, saith the Lord; so shall no man abide there, neither shall any son of man dwell therein.

41 Behold, a people shall come from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

42 They shall hold the bow and the lance: they are cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.

43 The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

44 Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the habitation of the strong: but I will make them suddenly run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?

45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations.

  1. THY KINGDOM COME
    HUMILITY

31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord Godof hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

As we grow to understand The Kingdom of GOD, we will quickly glean the value and importance of HUMILITY. The Kingdom of GOD is about The KING of Glory and not me. This is why we PRAY everyday “Thy WILL be done on earth as it is in Heaven”. We seek the will of GOD above our will.

The WORD of GOD is very clear in regards to how The KING opposes the proud. But also cleary communicates that JESUS gives grace to the humble.

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

As we “seek FIRST the Kingdom of GOD” may we choose to do so with HUMILITY and not pride.

  2. 2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

God is expecting His people to declare among all the nations not only the gospel, but the foretelling of what is to come. We cannot be ashamed, but must act with holy boldness so that people cannot point a finger at us and say we never told them.

An old song runs through my mind at times..
You never mentioned Jesus to me
You helped me not the way to see
You passed me day by day and you knew I was astray
Yet you never mentioned Jesus to me.

Lord help me to be a light and declare to all that your coming is soon!

  3. 50:45 Therefore heat ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Babylon;and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flocks shall draw them out:surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.
    ————
God wants to save, to delivered, to set captives free, to bring healing,…..
and He will do everything to abound judgment, but if the soul still refuses to surrender and continue living willingly in sin then God’s perspective will change and ultimately do what needs to be done. There are te ends , or there is repentance or an eternal loss….

  4. Verses 6-8 MSG “My people were lost sheep. Their shepherds led them astray. They abandoned them in the mountains where they wandered aimless through the hills. They lost track of home, couldn’t remember where they came from. Everyone who met them took advantage of them. Their enemies had no qualms: ‘Fair game,’ they said. ‘They walked out on God. They abandoned the True Pasture, the hope of their parents.’ “But now, get out of Babylon as fast as you can. Be rid of that Babylonian country. On your way. Good sheepdogs lead, but don’t you be led. Lead the way home!”

Same verses VOICE “My people have become like lost sheep, and their shepherds have led them astray. They wandered so far from My protection—on mountaintops and hills they lost their way, worshiping false gods, forgetting where I was and where they could find rest. And whoever found My lost sheep devoured them. Their enemies said to themselves, “Why worry? We are not the guilty ones here. They are the ones who sinned against their God, the Eternal One, their place of safety, the Eternal One, the hope of their ancestors.” Get out of Babylon while you can! Leave behind this land of the Chaldeans. Be like the goats at the head of the flock; lead the way home.”

Beware of being led astray and know who your shepherd is as Bro. Godwin spoke about last night. We know who our man of God is, who he serves and leads us to follow. John 10:27 AMP says “The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.”

  5. Jeremiah 50:20 (MSG)
” In those days and at that time – God’s Decree – they’ll look high and low for a sign of Israel’s guilt – nothing; search nook and cranny for a trace of Judah’s sin – nothing. These people that I’ve saved will start out with a clean slate.”

    “A clean slate”
Clean Slate means a new start; especially to make a new start by clearing the record. Clean slate comes from the use of chalk and slates in classrooms in the past. By wiping the slate clean, a student could remove any evidence of mistakes.
2 Cor. 5 :17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
When we Repent, are Baptised in Jesus name, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, we start out with a clean slate in Christ. Jesus wiped our slate clean with His Blood, and there’s no evidence of past sins or mistakes. Our past is gone. We are new creatures in Christ and all things are become new. HALLELUJAH!! THANK YOU JESUS!!

  6. 34. Yet their Redeemer is strong; the Lord Almighty is his name. He will vigorously defend their cause so that he may bring rest to their land, but unrest to those who live in Babylon. NIV

    Isaiah 35:4
Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” NLT

  7. 5 They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

    The Way to Zion
There are shepherds who have led many people in the wrong direction this is why we must declare the Word. We must not be afraid to spesk the truth. Believe me people want the truth . All we have to do is get s Bible open it up let them read the verses share what God has done for us. We can lead them but we will have to sacrifice our time , our desires for the Kingdom of God . We are equipped but are we using the equipment that has been given to us . Don’t make it difficult just open your mouth and tell it! God has this ! We don’t have all the right answers but God can help us lead them right into His Kingdom.
Not my will Lord has to be my daily prayer fir the Kingdom. In Jesus name.

  8. ” In those coming day,” say the Lord,
“the people of Israel will return home
together with the people of Judah.
They will come weeping and seeking the Lord
thereir God. They will ask the way to Jerusalem and will start back
    home again… Jeremiah 50:4,5. NLT

  9. A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction. The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

  10. 6-7 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace. All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.

As we heard last night, we are a blessed people to have such a great shepherd to lead us and watch over us in Pastor Watts. We must guard ourselves against seductive spirits. Our faithfulness to God is not an optional matter. When a man and a woman commit themselves to each other in marriage they must be faithful to one another. We should understand that obedience does not come naturally it is learned.

Those that stay faithful help the local church stay strong and growing. The church grows only because God blesses the efforts of “the faithful” as they spread His word and serve others. Let’s be honest. Serving others is costly, it takes our time, talent and treasure. At the end of the day, what are we going to get out of this investment? Do you ever wonder, is it worth all the time, the effort, the energy, the tears, the trials, the disappointments? Yes, it is. When we see the person we have invested so much into repent and leave the things of this world behind – that is our reward. Additionally, to know that someday, we will stand before the Throne of God with the people we have impacted – is there a greater return on an investment?

  11. A drought will strike her water supply, causing it to dry up. And why? Because the whole land is filled with idols, and the people are madly in love with them.
    Jeremiah 50:38 NLT

They love there idol and rejected GOD so GOD going to destroyed Babylon because of their sin but what caught me today is when it say they were madly in love with there Gods oh GOD I want to be madly in love with you
    Hope for the nation

  12. Jeremiah 50:19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carnelian and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

For the Repentance and restoration of future Israel
23:3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord.

All who return to God and their duty, shall find satisfaction of soul in so doing.

  13. “My people have been lost sheep; their shepherds have led them astray and caused them to roam on the mountains. They wandered over mountain and hill and forgot their own resting place.
    Jeremiah 50:6 NIV
    https://bible.com/bible/111/jer.50.6.NIV

A very good reason to read and study His Word every day. Knowing this Word will guard us from being lost and lead astray from false teachers. Reading the Word not only feeds us but allows us to feed other and lead them to their resting place.

  14. 17 Israel is a scattered sheep; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

  15. 18 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.

God does judge and punish but he also forgives and gives mercy & grace. We must be humble and truly seek Him in repentance and he can be found when we diligently seek him.

  16. 4 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the Lord their God.

The children of God are coming home, they cry out knowing they need God but need guidance back to Him. God can and will use us to be a guide to lives around us. Always be ready and be willing – Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done!

  17. Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

The Lord is almighty and he will give rest to those who are weary and troubled. He’s gonna bring you out.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  18. 31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord Godof hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

We must understand that our goal in ministry should be to decrease that He may increase. God is our help and provider. Our strength is not in us but in the Lord.

  19. iLove the Kingdom

Wow…so, does anyone remember in the earlier chapters of the book of Jeremiah when God called Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon was called “God’s Servant”? The Bible spoke of God giving all the nations to Babylon to rule over and Jeremiah prophesied for Judah to stay in the land and He would cause Nebuchadnezzar to be friendly to them. What happened to the “good ole days”? What happened to God’s favor over the then known Superpower of the World? Why was Jeremiah prophesying destruction over the one He once lifted up? Am I the only one who thinks like this, does anyone care… 🙂

The answer is found in the book of Daniel. Check out these scriptures. Daniel 5:18-21 KJV  O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:  (19)  And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.  (20)  But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:  (21)  And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.

God used Nebuchadnezzar “until” pride made him unusable. The same principle applies to us today. God might use us mighitly in the Holy Ghost, but if we ever think we are someone special, that pride will soon destroy us.

  20. I agree with Bro. Morgan above. God called Babylon to meet out His judgment on His disobedient children. Thus, He did not proclaim this punishment on Babylon because they destroyed Jerusalem, but because, in their arrogance and pride, they enjoyed the destruction, meeting out more than was required. They refused to have mercy and let the people go when God wanted them to, and they refused to learn from the mistakes of those they were punishing. They claimed to be instruments of God in fulfilling His will to punish His people for their idolatry; but in truth, they used God as an excuse to do their own will and exercise cruelty. Moreover, they never abandoned their own false gods and even set themselves up as gods because of the victories the One True God had given them.

“You rejoice and are glad, you who plundered my chosen people. You frisk about like a calf in a meadow and neigh like a stallion. “Send out a call for archers to come to Babylon. Surround the city so none can escape. Do to her as she has done to others, for she has defied the Lord , the Holy One of Israel. “See, I am your enemy, you arrogant people,” says the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “Your day of reckoning has arrived— the day when I will punish you. This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: “The people of Israel and Judah have been wronged. Their captors hold them and refuse to let them go. A drought will strike her water supply, causing it to dry up. And why? Because the whole land is filled with idols, and the people are madly in love with them.
    Jeremiah 50:11‭, ‬29‭-‬29‭, ‬31‭, ‬33‭-‬33‭, ‬38 NLT

We must be careful as a nation whom God has raised up, that we don’t make the same mistakes the Babylonians made. If we trust in our own might and refuse to turn from our own sins while we enjoy “punishing” the sins of others, we set ourselves up for the same judgment and ruin as Babylon. We cannot use God as an excuse to serve our own interests. When God raises us up to punish or to deliver others, we must do it in humility, obedience, and mercy. Furthermore, we must never take the credit for what the Lord has done.

  21. 2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

We were sent, we are called for such a time as this! We must go and teach the word of God, we must warn others of what is to come if they keep following the world and not the Word!

  22. The weapons of our Warfare

25 The Lord hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

2 Cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
    5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

What must you do in order for God to open the Armoury Of Heaven?

As we read in 2 Corinthians 10:6 it looks as though it’s disobedience.
In 1 Sam 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
When we disobey, it is rebellion against whom ever is over you. Therefore Disobedience which can = Rebellion = witchcraft. When we don’t follow the will of God and the teachings of His Word, His Kingdom Cannot come into our lives. As Bro Godwin said last night, we must trust our man of God in what he is teaching. We must also study ourselves to understand for ourselves. For God’s Kingdom to be established on earth, we must trust and follow His voice and teachings. Let HIS Kingdom Come

  23. 6. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

Lord have mercy on those sheep that hat gone astary by false Shepherds many dear friends .

  24. 6-7“My people were lost sheep. Their shepherds led them astray. MSG Don’t allow the pride of others lead you away from God’s promises for you. Pride amongst the Chaldeans brought destruction to all their people far and wide. God destroyed them all and told the whole world. History was made and He used it to instruct all who would listen that, “pride cometh before a fall.”

  25. 19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

  26. Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord. Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee. And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭50‬:‭30-32‬ KJV)
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be lowly in spirit with the afflicted than to share the spoils with the proud. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭18-19‬ NET)

  27. 31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord Godof hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.
32 And the most proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all round about him

  28. 43 Their redeemer is strong, the Lord of host is his name, He shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

  29. 8“But now, flee from Babylon! Leave the land of the Babylonians. Like male goats at the head of the flock, lead my people home again.

Yes, we have a great shepherd in Pastor Watts who leads us towards God. He can only do so much. But it’s up to the men of each family to lead and guide their families in the ways holiness, prayers, and worship.

  30. The words of a prophet are always specific in their detail. In fact a number of prophecies in the Bible were so accurate the world tried to explain them away as being rewritten afterwards to agree with history… until portions of the originals were found to be the same. We may look at these prophecies today and not realize how bold they were at the time. Keep in mind that Babylon was the super power of that day. They would overcome even the Assyrians who preceded them. There was no one else around that had anywhere near their might, yet Jeremiah prophecied of their destruction. They had not just come against Israel as had Assyria, but had carried away Judah into captivity.

Their conquerers did indeed come from the north and history proclaims them to be masters of the bow even from horseback: both details given in this passage. Although people often equate Bagdad with Babylon, archeologists would tell us the historical Babylon is about 40 miles away from modern day Bagdad: abandoned in the midst of a desolate barren dessert wilderness, just as was spoken by the prophet. We accept it as a fact of history but it was spoken against the most powerful entities of that day in faith and it came to pass!

So what was the purpose of it all? We see it in the hearts of those carried away: ‘They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.’ This was also spoken in prophecy but to their good, and it also came to pass! The prophet doesn’t chose his words, but if he is a true prophet of God, they shall come to pass. When our prophets speak, we should always hearken and respond in faith! Even God responds to our faith! Him that hath ears, let him hear what God is trying to speak for our good!

  31. 1 The word that the Lord spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

No matter what the lord says I will receive it into my spirit and obey his voice! The voice of the lord is important in my life! I fall under submission!

  32. 6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.

We love in such a wicked world of definitely deceit and false religion. There’s an old story of the devil sending our angels to tell some people there is no God, and other Angels to tell people that there is no hell, then in a final desperate attempt to detour people… he sends angels to tell others they are already saved. I’m our world today, we love around many people who claimed they are saved, but are just as lost as anyone else because of false religion. I believe we must pay for a spirit of Revelation to come to those people. That God will open the eyes of the preachers to preach the gospel in it’s fullness

  33. In those days,” says the Lord , “no sin will be found in Israel or in Judah, for I will forgive the remnant I preserve.
    Jeremiah 50:20 NLT

Joseph: disobey God’s law and He will never show you mercy. He will attack you on all side. Obey His Word.

Aurora: the Lord will strike the city and put wolves there. If you go near they will snatch you up.

  34. 19 And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.

In that day and in that time all that need be done is come back to God returning to Him and he will pardon or forgive the sin. There is coming a day when prodigals will return seeking the place where God is. And God will blot away any transgression. We need to be ready to receive them in love.

  35. In 539 B.C., Cyrus leader of the Medo-Persian empire conquered Babylon the great. Many of Jeremiah’s prophecies were fulfilled but not all of them. History tells us Cyrus did not completely destroy the city. The prophecies such as: 45 Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them. May not have been fulfilled then but unknown to Jeremiah, God would again say a time of desolation was forthcoming: [Rev 18:2 KJV] 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Do not doubt prophecies because it does not come to pass right away, Heaven and earth may pass away but God’s word will come to pass!

  36. 34 Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name: he shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.

Jesus is our Redeemer, he has shed his blood for all so that sins may be forgiven. His purpose of allowing the Babylon to conquer and divide Israel was to punish them for their sin. However, he wants to see them repent and turn back to him. He wants to forgive them and redeem them. He wants to give rest to their land from war and wrath. Because Babylon was ruthless with Israel, the one who pleads our case, our Redeemer, God will bring disaster to them now. They rejoiced at the disaster brought upon Israel. The sword of the Lord will now come against them. This is why we should not rejoice in the downfall of others, because that same sword can come for us.

Micah 7:8 “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.”

  37. 6. My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

Lord don’t let us ever forget the lost sheep that left their first love. Help us to always to pray for them, intercede for them. God bring them back to you..

  38. God delivers even in the toughest of situations. It may seem like you’re all alone but God is always watching. As children of God, we must continue to abide by his word.

  39. They will ask the way to Jerusalem and will start back home again. They will bind themselves to the Lord with an eternal covenant that will never be forgotten.(Jeremiah 50:5 NLT)

They were attending to return back to Jerusalem with such a fire in their hearts. Binding themselves to the Lord with such devotion of commitment that will never be forgotten.

  40. ““My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭50:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I pray for every lost sheep that has lost their way! I declare that they are making their way back to the sheepfold. Lord, I ask that you bring to their rememberance the way back home. And that they would not forget your benefits.

““I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭10:14-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak. But I will destroy those who are fat and powerful. I will feed them, yes—feed them justice!”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭34:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  41. Jeremiah foresaw Babylons kingdom flourishing “like a green bay-tree,’’ yet at the same time he foresaw it withered and cut down.

We too can look around us and she prosperity of the people of this day but rest assured that we can also she the distraction this World when God comes back.

  42. 6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.

7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers.

As I read his verse it brought tears to my eyes because I know many people that are lost because of their used to be shepard. They are so hurt and they say they love God but don’t want nothing with the Church. My prayer Lord is that you give them that peace and hunger for them to look for you again. Let your Holy Spirit guide them to POFW. The place that has a Shepard always looking out for us even when we make mistakes, making sure we get up and keep on running the race of salvation!!! Thank You Jesus!

  43. 1 The word that the Lord spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.

2 Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.

3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.

4 In those days, and in that time, saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the Lord their God.

7 All that found them have devoured them: and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers

The king of Babylon was kind to Jeremiah, yet the prophet must foretell the ruin of that kingdom. If our friends are God’s enemies, we dare not speak peace to them. The destruction of Babylon is spoken of as done thoroughly. Here is a word for the comfort of the Jews. They shall return to their God first, then to their own land; the promise of their conversion and reformation makes way for the other promises. Their tears flow not from the sorrow of the world, as when they went into captivity, but from godly sorrow. They shall seek after the Lord as their God, and have no more to do with idols. They shall think of returning to their own country. This represents the return of poor souls to God. In true converts there are sincere desires to attain the end, and constant cares to keep in the way. Their present case is lamented as very sad. The sins of professing Christians never will excuse those who rejoice in destroying them.

  44. “Declare ye among the nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces; her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭50:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Standard-
something lifted up, standard, signal, signal pole, ensign, banner, sign, sail
    standard (as rallying point), signal
    standard (pole)
    ensign, signal

This is where everyone is gathering to fight. This is the battle line.

  45. 31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord Godof hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.
It is through God that we live and have our being he is the reason why we have the things that we have without him we have nothing. In the Bible it says Pride cometh Before Destruction we should always try to have a humble spirit and be more like God
