Jeremiah 51

Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind;

And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about.

Against him that bendeth let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his brigandine: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host.

Thus the slain shall fall in the land of the Chaldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streets.

For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lordof hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.

Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the Lord‘s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord‘s hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.

10 The Lord hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the Lord our God.

11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the Lord hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance of his temple.

12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the Lordhath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.

13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.

14 The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.

15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

18 They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

19 The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the Lord of hosts is his name.

20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;

21 And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;

22 With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid;

23 I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.

24 And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the Lord.

25 Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the Lord, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.

26 And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the Lord.

27 Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.

28 Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion.

29 And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.

30 The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken.

31 One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to shew the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end,

32 And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted.

33 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.

34 Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.

35 The violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon, shall the inhabitant of Zion say; and my blood upon the inhabitants of Chaldea, shall Jerusalem say.

36 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

37 And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

38 They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions’ whelps.

39 In their heat I will make their feasts, and I will make them drunken, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the Lord.

40 I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he goats.

41 How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

42 The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.

43 Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.

44 And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.

45 My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the Lord.

46 And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.

47 Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

48 Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the Lord.

49 As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth.

50 Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the Lord afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.

51 We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the Lord‘s house.

52 Wherefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will do judgment upon her graven images: and through all her land the wounded shall groan.

53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord.

54 A sound of a cry cometh from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans:

55 Because the Lord hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:

56 Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the Lord God of recompences shall surely requite.

57 And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the Lord of hosts.

58 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary.

59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.

60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;

62 Then shalt thou say, O Lord, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:

64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

  1. THY KINGDOM COME
    SATURATION

14 The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.
15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

When GOD speaks, it triggers a multiple count of actions. Witnessing the POWER of HIS spoken WORD at creation. He now reveals the how and why of creation.

    The EARTH by HIS Power
    The WORLD by HIS Wisdom
    The HEAVENS by HIS Understanding

When HE speaks The Kingdom of GOD responds, even nature responds. Wind, Lightning and Rain are poured upon the earth from HIS Kingdom.

We should pray and declare that GOD will speak into our lives, into our situations, on behalf of us. Speak LORD that your WILL is revealed and your KINGDOM come to my life and every trial.

Bless you all in JESUS name. Thank you to everyone that prayed for me on Thursday Evening, I believe that JESUS broke some strongholds in the spirit here in Thailand.

  2. In the CEV version the chapter begins with “I, the Lord, am”. When the Lord begins to speak, things begin to move, things begin to happen as He demands. The warnings were given, the warnings were there; but, now as verse 24 CEV says “But now, my people will watch, while I repay you for what you did to Zion.” Now is the time to listen, hear the voice of the Lord and heed the warnings. As our prayer focus says “PRAY that the body of Christ will “know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,” and greater proclaim and demonstrate in the revelation and authority of one God and of the name of Jesus (Matthew 13:11).”

  3. 51:5 For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lord Of hosts;though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
    ————
Whenever we sin, it is better to como to God in repentance right away, make it right and turn from that one thing that brought us into being part of that sin…..
Before He starts correcting and worst case when he brings judgment..
GOd is the same yesterday today and forever and in his loving kindness he always remember that social promise he made to Abraham….
    I repent
    I seek the Lord
    I praise

  4. 63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:

64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

Yes take that sin and bind it up and bind it to a stone and cast it into the river!
You fight sin with the word, isn’t that what scripture says. Every time there’s trouble we run to Jesus seeking answers. We’re either flat on our face seeking his face or nose deep in HIS word. He is the Word and the Word is our sword.
In Psalms 119:9 I won’t quote it but it does tell us that this Bible will CLEAN your mind. When you clean your mind you’re onto cleaning your heart.
We hear so many things that lead back to our MINDS so it seems that should be a TOP priority to clean our MINDS daily.
Starting the day with a good mind cleanse and now for me ending the day with one too.
We fight Sin and temptation with the word because Sin Tempts us starting with our flesh, with our MINDS.
    Let’s Go in Jesus name!
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  5. 15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

It boggles my mind to think that rather than believing in God and all His power, people still choose to believe that a man-made statue could do what God has done, or even choose to believe that there is no God at all.

  6. 15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
The power and majesty of God are clear in these verses. We serve a mighty God who is great and greatly to be praised!!

  7. Jeremiah 51:6 & 45
    6) Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
    45) My people, get ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.

“Flee out – Get ye out, and deliver every man his soul…”
One day, God is going to bring judgment and destruction upon this world. It’s time to Flee and Get out of this world. It’s time to get Delivered and Saved. It’s time to get KINGDOM Minded.

  8. The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge! The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make, for their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power. Idols are worthless; they are ridiculous lies! On the day of reckoning they will all be destroyed. But the God of Israel is no idol! He is the Creator of everything that exists, including his people, his own special possession. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name!
    Jeremiah 51:17‭-‬19 NLT
Idols are not alive the can’t breathe or talk they do nothing but our GOD is alive he made everything he created everything he is the ruler of everything he King of Kings and Lord of Lord so since he’s the creation of everything it will be stupid to trust in idols but I put my trust in GOD

  9. 15 He made the earth by his power, he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
16 When he thunders the waters In the heavens roar ,he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses

  10. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The Medes (vs-11)
This was a general term for the people of northwest Iran. The Medes had joined Babylon in destroying Nineveh the captal of Assyria in 612 B.C.In 539B.C. they were allied with the Persians who overthrew the Babylonian empire

  11. 14 The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee.

  12. 12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the Lordhath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.

We, as the people of God, should have a standard against Babylon (the world.) We should teach it to our children and our children’s children, a heritage that should be passed from one to the other so as not to let “the world” into us.

We are called to be separate, in the world but not of the world. The teaching starts with us. If we don’t put it into our families now, should God tarry, the generations to come will have no standard against the world.

  13. 15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

  14. Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath devoured me, he hath crushed me, he hath made me an empty vessel, he hath swallowed me up like a dragon, he hath filled his belly with my delicates, he hath cast me out.
    Jeremiah 51:34 KJV

The king of Babylon had several opportunities to turn to the God of Heaven. The book of Daniel tells of at least three times when God revealed Himself as all-powerful and all-knowing, and Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged there was no God like unto the Hebrew God. At one point he even proclaims:

“I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me. How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation…. I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation…. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase,” (Daniel 4: 2-3, 34, 37 KJV).

Notwithstanding, either this king who made such confessions could not hold on to his conversion experience, or he did not pass his new-found faith down to those who inherited his throne. For at some point, God was ”cast out.”

We cannot live on yesterday’s faith. Our faith must be strong and vocal day by day. Like Paul, I want to say, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith,” (2 Timothy 4:7 KJV).

  15. 5 For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lordof hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the Lord‘s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

The time is coming where the Lord will gather his people back into their land and judge Babylon for leaving the faith of the Lord God. We can’t abandon our faith, our doctrine because something else comes along and captures our attention. This would be seducing spirits that Bro Godwin preached about. Their intent is to destroy God’s people. We must hold fast to the faith that was once delivered to the saints because there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism…period.

  16. 6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the Lord‘s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.

Flee from this World. Sin will end in destruction. We must guard our minds keeping them saturated with the Word. Don’t look at what everyone else seems to be doing but look to the One Who is going to bring you life. Let His light keep you from any idols this world has set up. You have a choice we must choose wisely in Jesus Name.

  17. 12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the Lord hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon. Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers. 33. For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and —————————————————–the time of her harvest shall come. 18. iLove the Kingdom 👑

Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord‘s hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.

8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.

These scriptures are very prophetic. This is exactly the way that Babylon would fall in the very near future. King Nebuchadnezzar took all the gold vessels from the temple of the Lord. Later Nebuchadnezzar ‘s son threw a party and he and the princes of Babylon drink out of the Lord’s vessels calling upon the name of the gods. Immediately, there appeared a hand and it wrote on the wall and Daniel the prophet interpreted the interpretation of the Interpretation. It wasn’t very long after that that suddenly men from Persia went under the walls of Babylon and attacked the city killing the king and all the princess interpretation. It wasn’t very long after that that suddenly men from Persia went under the walls of Babylon and attacked the city killing the king and all the princes. Babylon was conquered very quickly in the matter of a few hours. God’s word is amazingly accurate and true every time.

  19. When the enemy tries to discourage us for our failures, we need to remember what was spoken to Israel. ‘For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lordof hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.’ Israel and Judah were both brought into captivity because of their sins, but God had not forsaken them! He was using that time for their good. We likewise may be chastised and corrected by the Lord, but it is done with the intent to profit our souls in our walk with him.

The enemy would like us to think that it is all about ourselves and what we have done it failed to do. But we need to remember ‘The Lord hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the Lord our God.’ We are not strong in ourselves, we are strong in him! He is working with us to bring forth his righteousness in our life, not because we can, but because we trust in him! Our part is to declare his work in our life. When he instructs us, we need to receive and respond, but it is merely our decision that matters… the strength to follow through on that decision comes from him. So give him the glory that is due his name! ‘O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth. Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.’ In Jesus name!

  20. 15 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.

16 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

  21. 5 For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lordof hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.

We all have struggled against the desires of our flesh and the temptations of Satan and his world. Some overcome. Others do not. Overcoming is hard—difficult— and it is a life-long struggle. It IS possible. We can overcome. We must overcome!

Sin is not new. The Bible is filled with battles to overcome sin. In nearly every case difficult, and sometimes painful, lessons were learned. Moses, Noah, David, Samuel, Peter and others have fought every kind of problem known to man. They battled weaknesses, faults, attitudes, and temptations of the flesh. David fought sins and wrong attitudes and overcame them. Moses lacked faith and confidence and had a temper that he had to overcome. Both Job and Elijah fought discouragement and depression, even to the point of wanting to die. But these men endured—they overcame. They slew their problems, rather than being slain by them!

  22. So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

Then shalt thou say, O Lord, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭51‬:‭60, 62, 64‬ KJV)

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭30-31‬ KJV)

  23. Vengeance is the Lords……

50 Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the Lord afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.

    “Be Safe”………

  24. 59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.

60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

    61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;

This prophecy is sent to Babylon, to the captives there, by Seraiah, who is to read it to his countrymen in captivity. Let them with faith see the end of these threatening powers, and comfort themselves herewith. When we see what this world is, how glittering its shows, and how flattering its proposals, let us read in the book of the Lord that it shall shortly be desolate. The book must be thrown into the river Euphrates. The fall of the New Testament Babylon is thus represented, Revelation 18:21. Those that sink under the weight of God’s wrath and curse, sink for ever. Babylon, and every antichrist, will soon sink and rise no more for ever. Let us hope in God’s word, and quietly wait for his salvation; then we shall see, but shall not share, the destruction of the wicked.

  25. We have cities with people like Babylon who believe they can do all without The Lord. They worship their money, music, and fame. God will destroy these people as He destroyed Babylon. We are His chosen people and a royal priesthood. We cannot allow such degradation to come into our lives that we believe that we are higher than the God who made us. We cannot be a part of the problem because we are reaching out to save those that are lost. We must do The Lord’s work for His Kingdom to grow.

  26. 45 My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the Lord

I know the scripture is not exactly referencing this, but when I read the scripture specifically it reminded me of our calling in Fort Worth. To go out in the midst of our city and deliver every man from evil that God will put an end to. Can you think of a greater calling then for God to send us out to reach his beloved people as the time begins to run out before everything is put to an end

  27. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding. When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
    Jeremiah 51:15‭-‬16 KJV

  28. Lift up a banner against the walls of Babylon! Reinforce the guard, station the watchmen, prepare an ambush! The Lord will carry out his purpose, his decree against the people of Babylon.
    Jeremiah 51:12 NIV

In a society where everyone marches to their own banner. We too must march to ours which is Jesus. We must shout out in the streets and let His Word be known to all that will listen , at the same time guarding our own minds, hearts, and spirit. We must be ready and trust Him enough to carry out His purpose in us. THY KINGDOM COME!

  29. 17 Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

Jeremiah higlights the Babylonians’ reliance on their man-made idols. Babylon worshipped many gods. They would offer sacrifices and burn incense to these idol gods, continually praying for blessings, protection and forgiveness. Yet, God says these liefless images “are worthless, the objects of mockery” vs18. Sometimes it’s easy to think that the things and people we see and touch can offer us more than God does. But it’s foolish to devote ourselves to material objects or any path of spiritually beside “the great King above all gods” (Ps 95:3).

  30. 59 The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. And this Seraiah was a quiet prince.

60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.

Though God used Babylon to chastise his people and called their King his servant yet still Babylon’s transgression and pride did not go unpunished. There is an effect for every sin and pay for wrong actions.

  31. The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge! The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make, for their carefully shaped works are a fraud. These idols have no breath or power.(Jeremiah 51:17 NLT)

The people of this world, today make unwise decisions and give false information that misleads others. There’s people that label themselves as skilled craftsmen, but have no common sense, and they will be disappointed when they find out that their false god cannot breathe. How can an idol they made with their own hands save them or bless them. We serve a mighty God and he deserves all the glory, honor and praise.

  32. 5 For Israel hath not been forsaken, nor Judah of his God, of the Lord of hosts; though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.
Now judgment is coming upon Babylon and it is contrasted with that of Israel’s. God’s judgment upon His people had a purpose and plan to bring them back to Him and to get the sin out! Israel was not forsaken by God but was corrected by Him. Babylon, on the other hand, has no hope at all!

  33. “The Lord of hosts hath sworn by himself, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers; and they shall lift up a shout against thee. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.”
    ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭51:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He is mighty in power! He has done it all. He created. He spoke. He stretched. He did everything by his own name, Jesus! What a powerful and mighty name and God we serve.
