Ezekiel 4

Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:

And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.

For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.

Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.

And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.

Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

10 And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.

11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink.

12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

13 And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.

14 Then said I, Ah Lord God! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

15 Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.

16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

  1. People will look at one another, see nothing but skin and bones, and shake their heads. This is what sin does. MSG

If only everyone could see the end result of the sin they were about to commit: the addiction…the broken home…the drunken wreck…the cancer…the lost jobs, etc.; would they change their ways, or keep being hard-headed like the people in these scriptures?

  2. Lacking food and water, people will look at one onother in terror, and
they will waste away under their punishment.
    Ezikiel 4:17 NLT

  3. “Then he said to me, “Son of man, I’m going to cut off all food from Jerusalem. The people will live on starvation rations, worrying where the next meal’s coming from, scrounging for the next drink of water. Famine conditions. People will look at one another, see nothing but skin and bones, and shake their heads. This is what sin does.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭4:16-17‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Prosperity and Plenty

God is the God of everything. He created it all and holds it all in His hands. He can give prosperity or famine. When we sin and allow rebellion into our lives he does not let that prosper. If we refuse to listen and we wait long enough he will turn our plenty into wanting. Prosperity can drive people to thinking they are self sufficient. When we become in wanting we will turn back to God.

Short cut—stay seeking after God! It doesn’t mean that you won’t have times of want, but it does mean that those times won’t be out of his anger. It also means that when they come you might be more prepared because when you focus on him you might have more notice of wanting (like Joseph in Egypt).

  4. Ezekiel 4The Message (MSG)

    This Is What Sin Does
4 1-3 “Now, son of man, take a brick and place it before you. Draw a picture of the city Jerusalem on it. Then make a model of a military siege against the brick: Build siege walls, construct a ramp, set up army camps, lay in battering rams around it. Then get an iron skillet and place it upright between you and the city—an iron wall. Face the model: The city shall be under siege and you shall be the besieger. This is a sign to the family of Israel.

Sin has its consequences. We are so privileged to live in this despensation iof grace where Jesus washes away our sins . Yet we cannot take His mercy His grace for granted. We must guard our minds and heart and walk in His love keeping ourselves free from this world.
Thank God for the blood that washes white as snow.

  5. 12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

13 And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.

The KING has unique ways of teaching, preparing and communicating with man. It is wise for us to evaluate, what, where, when and how we will defend or protect HIS Kingdom and our place in IT.

A visual lesson is one that is not quickly forgotten. GOD used HIS voice and an object lesson to reveal what was about to happen.

We are BLESSED and PRIVILEGED to have access to a visual “The WORD of GOD” and an audible “The SPIRIT of GOD” to teach and reveal to us what GOD is communication to us.

Lets GO look and listen to what the LORD says.

  7. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

  8. “Now lie on your left side and place the sins of Israel on yourself. You are to bear their sins for the number of days you lie there on your side. After that, turn over and lie on your right side for 40 days—one day for each year of Judah’s sin.
    Ezekiel 4:4‭, ‬6 NLT
The way I look at this verse I look at it as sin begin a burden which sin is burden like lying you have keep lying to cover up the first lie that just wight you don’t have to carry just tell the truth sin make you ashamed just looking at Adams and Eve sin separates you from GOD that they it’s important to repent and turn from our way so GOD can forgive you to be honest this world is not getting better and JESUS is coming soon either you’re ready or not but not going to wait you don’t want be left behind because sin

  9. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

HE Gave him specific instructions when to eat the bread an how to cook it. But he said to ration it out so he could eat EVERY day.

We also have been given instruction to eat everyday a minimum chapter a day. Sounds so easy.
I guess it would be easier if we starving for more of Him!
I wonder if we really mean it when we sing those lyrics “I want more of you God, I want more of you God”
Because God’s right here and he’s been here the entire time. Just open up that Bible. If you’re seekimg counsel and you have a need..Open your Bible.
The answer is simple we just need to ration it out and get a piece of THIS WORD every day.
You wanna help others? Open your Bible.
You want a word from the Lord? Open your Bible.
You want deliverance? Open your Bible
You want those chains to be broken. Open your Bible.
You want your mind to be cleansed and washed? Open your Bible.

I could go all day with this but you already know how important it is to EAT this BOOK!

iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  10. 16 He then said to me: “Son of man, I am about to cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair,

Reading this made this made me wonder how many of us eat the Word of God desperately. We have a privledge to have bibles, books,YouTube, apps, and have the opportunity to buy a bible for $1.00. Yet many don’t take advantage of this opportunity. There are no excuses to not read the Word of God! We must be so hunger in desperation that we need to hear what God has to say to us!! His Word is a living!!!! I want to fall in Love more with your Word Jesus!!! I want to know you more! I just want more of you God!!! I don’t want to miss this blessing that you have given me!!!

  11. We know the wages of sin is death. What if God does not require death of us immediately? It might look a little like this. I have seen a few documentaries about drug abuse. The mug shots of those arrested at the beginning of their illegal careers are vastly different than the mug shots near the end of their careers. Side by side comparisons of before and after drug use is drastic. What would we look like if our mug shots were compared side by side before sin and after sin?

  12. 1 Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:

2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

Preparing a battle plan – strategically preparing our minds for situations that we need the wisdom of God with will help us be victorious, regardless of the situation. Many time I lay the plan out in my mind of how I’m going to do something specific, how I think it will turn out if I do it this way or that way. This helps me facilitate in a more excellent manner. It also gives me opportunity to investigate different ways of accomplishing the tasks at hand. Many times I lay it out before the Lord and pour over it in my prayers to be sure I’m not missing an important detail that would change the outcome.

God is available to us at all times and tells us in His world the He will give wisdom to all those that seek after it. We must take the time to seek after His wisdom, wait patiently until it comes and then follow the plan given to be successful.

  13. 10 And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it.
11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink
God has made us into vessels that he can be in us and yes we might need food for our flesh to survive but everything is in measure and we also need a time to put our carnality on the side and focus on God and to dedicate just to him.

  14. 17 Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment. (NLT)

Lacking spiritual food and water is just as dangerous for your soul. People begin wasting away and starving – does anyone look with terror at the sight of a soul spiritually starving? Open our eyes God to see what You see, to see the souls of those who are starving, lost, hungry, hurting… We need You Jesus!

  15. iLove the Kingdom
Ezekiel 4:17 NLT Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment.

I received this thought this morning as I read this scripture. This can piggy back (no pun intended with pork) on the message from Wednesday night in the fact that God is putting Judah on a mandatory famine. No food and little water…why, well because of rebellion. As we learned on Wednesday night cancer is the result of the rebellion of one cell who wants to go its own way and make up its own rules. Cancer cannot fast…fasting kills cancer cells and we can look at this principle in this scripture as the fact that God is going to kill out rebellion even if he has to starve the people in the process. Wow

  16. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:
17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

Sin and rebellion is punished by God unless there is repentance, and they would not turn back to Him. Now they will suffer from lack of food until His anger has been satisfied. We must hear the word of God from the man of God and align our lives around it and not live unto ourselves. Jesus is the bread of life and it’s His word that feeds us.

  17. 17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
How soon can one go from prosperity to poverty in the sight of God. God never desired for his children to be in want. He only desired for them to serve him with all of their heart, mind, soul and strength. Yet, their decisions to turn away from him and to not teach their children to serve God but to serve this world cost not only their prosperity to be turned into poverty but that of their future generations.
We must never take these vivid and heart wrenching accounts of what happens when we choose to go our own way rather than what God would have us to do.. Furthermore, we must ensure with everything in us that our children are taught how to serve the Lord with joy and gladness and not to compromise with this world. Their souls and the souls of their future generations is not worth anything this world has to offer.
..”As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”

  18. Take an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between yourself and the city. Turn your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This will be a sign for the house of Israel.
    Ezekiel 4:3 HCSB

This represents an iron wall separating the face of God from the city of Jerusalem. They could not see through iron; they couldn’t see around the wall. God’s face was hid from them in their time of need because their need was the consequence of their sins.

This shows us two things about habitual sin: 1) it brings desperate need; 2) it separates us from the only One who can help. Sin deadens the mind until we act against our own good senses and hardens the heart until we no longer feel or desire the presence of God. Sin is a slow-working self-destruct button, the slow withering away of mind, heart, and body.

Moreover, sin is deceitful. Israel thought that because they were the “Chosen People” of God, they would be protected regardless of their own commitment to Him. It was as if they didn’t think God could tell the difference between their lip-service and their heart-service. As long as God was a part of their lives, an addendum to their own will and self-centered lifestyles, they thought that they would maintain their privileged status with Him.

I fear that many in the church of our age have fallen under the same delusion. We tend to take the grace of God for granted. We feel that because we are “the redeemed,” we can claim the help of God without surrendering to the total leadership of God. We are deceived by our own lusts into believing that God will annul the consequences of habitual sin and unsurrendered lives. We must repent before our sins hide from us the face of God.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. FOR IF WE SIN WILLFULLY after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of HOW MUCH SORER PUNISHMENT, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and HATH DONE DESPITE UNTO THE SPIRIT OF GRACE?
    Hebrews 10:23‭-‬29 KJV

This is what sin does, this what lack of prayer and the word of God does, it causes starvation, it dries us up! Why starve yourself when you have access to the bread of life and living water?

  20. God is preparing Ezekial to save Jerusalem by allowing him to understand where they are and the struggles they face. The people have sinned and are going to starve for their wickedness. This is another reason that we must fast to bring our flesh under submission and not fill our lives with sin. We should want for nothing but honey from God’s Word to sweeten our spirit and quench our thirst for more of Him.

  21. 16-17 Then he said to me, “Son of man, I’m going to cut off all food from Jerusalem. The people will live on starvation rations, worrying where the next meal’s coming from, scrounging for the next drink of water. Famine conditions. People will look at one another, see nothing but skin and bones, and shake their heads. This is what sin does.”

Just as food and water nourishes our physial body, The Word and Prayer nourishes our Spititaual body. When we allow ourselves to sin we are slowly going to kill ourselves by starvation. Keep your Spiritual body nourished. Read the Word, Pray, Fast, Be a witness!

  22. 17 Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment.

When your hungry, you’ll just about do anything to get some food in your stomach. You may lie, steal or cheat to get some food. Physically you’ll be drained, you’ll fee agitated, and really wont care about anything. Spiritually, we have to eat God’s Word to stay strong. But most people wont feel no effects of not reading the Word. But all the while, spiritually you are getting weaker daily. So read the Word, pray daily and give thanks to the Lord, to sustain your will and power for the Lord.

  23. 14 Then said I, Ah Lord God! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

What are we eating/consuming? I was reminded immediately of “Ear this book” what we consume can be health to ourselves or very well pollute our own soul. From when? From our youth we should watch what we eat not just phisical but spiritually mentally emotionally. Eat God’s word every day that you may grow strong and healthy in your spiritual walk lacking nothing.

  24. 13 And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, whither I will drive them.

Sometimes God will tell us to do things that we are not comfortable doing, we may have to get our hands dirtier than we want. But if it’s for the preaching of God’s word than it is worth it.

  25. 13 And the Lord said, even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the gentiles, whither I will drive them.

  26. 9 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

Throw it all together and see what happens.

Have you ever gotten so frustrated that you just get in this zone to get it done. To where you don’t care really how the outcome is, you just know to get it Done? How did it turn out? In this verse we read that they put many ingredients in this bread. I wonder how it tasted? Have you ever baked something? There is a recipe that you must follow in order to get the outcome of what ever IT is your baking. Through the ingredients to the temperature that you bake, everthing that you do to that mix will change the end result. If you did right, there will be desert after dinner, but if not then it’s Little Debbie snacks for you.
On the spiritual side, however, it is really the same thing. We must enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with Praise. We must humble ourselves before His presence and follow where he leads. We must pray, read and fast to understand the direction he is taking us. We must communicate with our Father to know his Voice. There are many things we can do, in order to hear and follow the will of God for our lives. What would happen if we just said one day, I think I’ll go to the jungle and minister the Gosple… well, if it is God then did you seek council first with the man of God in your life? Did you fast and pray for God’s direction, His peace, His leading, or did you have too much pizza the night before and have a crazy dream? What would happen if you just threw everything together and hope for the best. Successful people plan out and make preparation. I want to be successful in His Kingdom and make His Kingdom successful, by reaching out to the hurting and lost. Lets make prepartion to reach and help those in need.

  27. Then he told me, “Son of man, I will make food very scarce in Jerusalem. It will be weighed out with great care and eaten fearfully. The water will be rationed out drop by drop, and the people will drink it with dismay. Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment.
    Ezekiel 4:16‭-‬17 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/ezk.4.16-17.NLT

When we allow sin to come in our lives it doesn’t happen over night. It happens little by little and we don’t even realize that our spirit is being drained and going hungry. We have to be watchful and not let sin creep in because it will destroy us.

  28. Ezekiel 4:16-17 (the Voice)
Son of man, I am going to cut off the food supply from Jerusalem. The people will slowly starve, living off minimal rations of food and water. As they eat their morsels of bread and drink their minimal rations of water, they will be constantly worrying about what they will eat and drink the next day. When bread and water become more and more scarce, everyone will look at each other in horror. They will slowly waste away beneath the weight of their sins.

SIN will cause a person to starve to death spiritually, because SIN seperates us from God (who is the Bread of Life and Living Water).

  29. 17 for food and water will be scarce. They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away. This is what sin does.”

His spiritual food and living water should be so sacred to us that we don’t take it for granted. If we don’t have it within us we should look at ourselves and see how sin comes upon us from this world because we’re empty without his daily spiritual food. We are a waste if we let this world impact us then us impacting them with his word. The souls in this world are hungry and searching for the truth and we have to feed them the word of God and let God fill them with his living water! After a harvest there is a feast, we go into revival and come out with souls overflowing and ready to go save others with hungry souls!

  30. 17 Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment. (NLT)

We must desire the meat of the word of God in our lives. When we do we will be replenished and encouraged to go forward with God. Without the spiritual food and drink we will become famished and no longer will be able to fight our spiritual battle.

  31. 17. That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.
I need that bread of life and and that River of Living Water and that they never stop astonied me

  32. Ezekiel 4:13 ( English Amp) And the Lord said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the nation’s to whom I will drive them.
Hos.9:3 ] They shall not remain in the Lord’s land , But Ephraim shall return to
( another) Egypt and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.

  33. 17 Lacking food and water, people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment.

We become malnourished when we do not read the word of God when we dont pray or don’t fasts. Do you get further and further away from God and the things that he has called us to do God help us stay focused on your mission. You will work everything out in your time

  34. The word of the Lord is what keeps us. Through his word we are able to overcome all things. Greater is he that is within us then he that is in the world. It is through his power that we can go above and beyond.

  35. 14 Then said I, Ah Lord God! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

To give an visual illustration of the prophecy against Israel, Ezekiel is given very intricate instructions. We read here that Ezekiel reminds God that he has never consumed any abominable flesh of an animal nor the utilization of his own dung to cook food with. These are outside of the holiness he was taught to follow as a child and he knows what His Father is telling him is to express how desperate the situation Israel will be in when they are judged for their iniquity. The sin was against God’s holiness. God knows the request he gave Ezekiel was not righteous and Ezekiel passed the test. He didn’t get so caught up with the list of instructions to forget God’s Word. The world may pollute itself with abominations but God desire a people dedicated to living separated lives, holy unto the Lord.

  36. I’m so greatful for the grace of God! I’m reminded that there is a high cost for sin. Sin will take you further than what you ever intended on going. Yet his grace is greater and able to reach for us even when we are far away from Hi

  37. 4 Lie thou also upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it: according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it thou shalt bear their iniquity.
5 For I have laid upon thee the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days: so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6 And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year.
“It is not necessary to assume that Ezekiel was in the prone position day and night. It was doubtless part of each day, if he were to prepare his food as stated later in the chapter.” (Feinberg)
God uses His prophet to act out this message of judgment upon Israel and Judah. The prophet most likely did it at a time where all could see him. The Lord and His messengers go through great lengths to get His message across and in this case it was done repeatedly for a total of 430 days! Lord help us to get the message right away!

  38. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

  39. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

Sometimes the word and direction we receive from Jesus is not what we are expecting. humility is the key at this point…
    Stay humble…

  40. 17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

My spiritual stomach is always open for more food . My stomach is large and is never full I will recieve the word of God!

  41. 12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it with dung that cometh out of man, in their sight.

What is the big difference in cows dung and mans dung? It is what goes into them. We know exactly what a cow eats. You never know what a man eats

    Mark 7:15
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

What ever we produce is the real definition of who we are. If we are always making a mess of things then some would say, he’s a mess. No one would want to follow you because you are leaving behind a mess. If we produce encouragement, blessings, love, righteousness joy and peace it will also define us and we will be known as fruitful.

  42. “”Son of man, get a clay tablet. Put it in front of you. Draw the city of Jerusalem on it. Then pretend to surround it and attack it. Make some little models of war machines. Build a ramp up to it. Set camps up around it. Surround it with models of logs to be used for knocking down its gates. Then get an iron pan. Put it between you and the city. Pretend it is an iron wall. Turn your face toward the city. It will be under attack when you begin to attack it. That will show the people of Israel what is going to happen to Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭4:1-3‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Talk about an action sermon. It’s almost as if God was saying “okay you don’t want to listen to the Word? okay watch this. And let it sink in what is about to happen.” God is creatively reaching for His people. I’m thankful for His love and kindness. He is reaching for us. He longs for us to repent and turn our hearts to Him.

“Dear friends, here is one thing you must not forget. With the Lord a day is like a thousand years. And a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow to keep his promise. He is not slow in the way some people understand it. He is patient with you. He doesn’t want anyone to be destroyed. Instead, he wants all people to turn away from their sins.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  43. Ezekiel 4:16-17

He then said to me: “Son of man, I am about to cut off the food supply in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair, for food and water will be scarce. They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away because of their sin.

Two ways that people learn, By Wisdom or by Counsel

My wife, even at 18 years of age, when she heard the Gospel message, she took heed to the words, believed God and repented and got baptized in Jesus name. Thru her mind ran thoughts, if God is calling me I will listen like Samuel and not suffer then listen like Jonah.

My s Florida on the other hand, God had to shape like Joseph, rejection by family, prison in loneliness, accused, mistreated but at the end triumphant.

What do we resort God to do at get out attention to His higher plan for our lives?

  44. “Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and your arm shall be uncovered [ready for battle], and you shall prophesy against [the city].”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Though sin has a cost, and every choice we make has a consequence, we must not let it keep us down.

Yes, we take the correction and learn from our mistakes. However as the scripture states above he was to have his arm uncovered and ready for battle. Cause even though we are down, there are still others to be reached.

There are still those hurting who need to be loved.
There are those sick and wounded who still need to be healed.

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭7:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  45. In the MSG version this chapter is captioned “This Is What Sin Does”. Verses 16-17 say “Then he said to me, “Son of man, I’m going to cut off all food from Jerusalem. The people will live on starvation rations, worrying where the next meal’s coming from, scrounging for the next drink of water. Famine conditions. People will look at one another, see nothing but skin and bones, and shake their heads. This is what sin does.” Sin will eat away at you from the inside out. Unfortunately, some do not even see it happening until it’s to late. JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

  46. 6 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

  47. 16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment:

17 That they may want bread and water, and be astonied one with another, and consume away for their iniquity.

  48. I will tie you up with ropes so you won’t be able to turn from side to side until the days of your siege have been completed.(Ezekiel 4:8 NLT)

Sometimes when we try to fight the things in our life that are tearing us apart we need to fast so that we can discipline our flesh. When we sin we become bound to it like the ropes ties around Ezekiel. When it’s all completed and the will of the Lord has gone forth we can overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

  49. 1 Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and pourtray upon it the city, even Jerusalem:

2 And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

3 Moreover take thou unto thee an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face against it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

7 Therefore thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thine arm shall be uncovered, and thou shalt prophesy against it.

8 And, behold, I will lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast ended the days of thy siege.

The prophet was to represent the siege of Jerusalem by signs. He was to lie on his left side for a number of days, supposed to be equal to the years from the establishment of idolatry. All that the prophet sets before the children of his people, about the destruction of Jerusalem, is to show that sin is the provoking cause of the ruin of that once flourishing city.
