Ezekiel 8

And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell there upon me.

Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.

And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

13 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.

14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord‘s house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.

16 And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord‘s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

The glorious personage Ezekiel beheld in vision, seemed to take hold upon him, and he was conveyed in spirit to Jerusalem. There, in the inner court of the temple, was prepared a place for some base idol. The whole was presented in vision to the prophet. If it should please God to give any man a clear view of his glory and majesty, and of all the abominations committing in any one city, he would then admit the justice of the severest punishments God should inflict thereon.

  2. Verse 12 MSG “He said, “Son of man, do you see what the elders are doing here in the dark, each one before his favorite god-picture? They tell themselves, ‘God doesn’t see us. God has forsaken the country.’” Same verse CEV “God said, “Ezekiel, do you see what horrible things Israel’s leaders are doing in secret? They have filled their rooms with idols. And they say I can’t see them, because they think I have already deserted Israel.”

Jeremiah 23:23-24 MSG “Am I not a God near at hand”—God’s Decree— “and not a God far off? Can anyone hide out in a corner where I can’t see him?” God’s Decree. “Am I not present everywhere, whether seen or unseen?” God’s Decree.”

Psalm 139:7-12 MSG “Is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute—you’re already there waiting! Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.”

  3. He said, “Son of man, do you see what the elders are doing here in the dark, each one before his favorite god-picture? They tell themselves, ‘ God doesn’t see us. God has forsaken the country.’”
    Ezekiel 8:12
No idols, nor riches, or anything else can ever take the place of God almighty in your life. There’s times in our walk with God that we go through seasons we do not feel his presence – But it’s not a time to look to the world. It is a time a prayer, fasting, repentance, worship, and praise .
His word stand true and is faithful and I am confident in That! His word says that He will never leave me nor forsake me. So why should I turn from Him?

Wherever you find yourself today…He is with you!!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you..
    Jeremiah 29:11‭-‬13 KJV

  4. 3. He held out what looked to be a hand and seized me by the hair. The Spirit hoisted me up between heaven and earth and transported me— through a vision of God— to Jerusalem…

    12. Then the LORD said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the leaders of Israel are doing with their idols in dark rooms? They are saying, ‘The LORD doesn’t see us; he has deserted our land!'”

    13. Then the LORD added, “Come, and I will show you even more detestable sins than these!” NLT

Not only can God see what is happening when people think no one is watching, but He could show the man of God, as well!

O be careful little eyes what you see
O be careful little eyes what you see
    There’s a Father up above
And He’s looking down in love ~or in this case, anger~
So, be careful little eyes what you see

O be careful little ears what you hear…

O be careful little hands what you do…

O be careful little feet where you go…

O be careful little mouth what you say…

God, in all his infinite wisdom and ability, still speaks to the man of God about going on. there is so much about this that can be said, about that relationship God longs for us to have, he isnt quick to be angry and destroy everything, he doesnt just make decisions that are just and righteous on his own. He still uses people to work through to convey his message. Before God destroyed Sodom, he spoke to Abraham, even though Abraham was heading towards another direction for his promise, God still went and conversed with him about what he was going to do. That is so significant! God doesnt need our permission, he doesnt require our input, there isnt anything he doesnt know…HE IS GOD. But because he longs for that commune with man, he still speaks to man about things concerning his people.

  6. 8:15
Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son turn thee yet again, and thOu shalt see greater abominations than these.
O Lord!!! Help us to not waver, help to to stand firm in the midle of all these wickedness, I need my ears , my spirit to be sensitive enough to perceive and acknowledge You. It’s not getting any bettter … shine through me oh Lord, that they may see and want to have what we have. ….

  7. 3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
Our GOD is an jealous GOD.he is GOD there only one GOD so first and last beginning end

  8. There is a great deal of secret wickedness in the world. They think themselves out of God’s sight But those are ripe indeed for ruin, who lay the blame of their sins upon the Lord.

    Psalm 139:23-24
Search me O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

  9. 3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

  10. Behold the hypocrisy of the religious leaders of Israel. They had the temple of Solomon as their great source of spiritual pride. On the surface or outside, it stood as a testimony of the greatness of their God. Anyone who saw its splendor would imagine those therein to be worshippers of the God it symbolized and examples of how others should follow that same God. Sadly, though, the outside was a misrepresentation of their hearts.

Jesus spoke judgment on the religious leaders of His day for the same hypocrisy:
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
    Matthew 23:25‭-‬28 KJV

We must be careful as leaders that our inward holiness exceeds our outward standards. People see us as representatives of God and examples of Christianity. We bring blasphemy on God and His Kingdom when we allow secret sins to abide in our hearts. We may think we’ve hidden them well, but they always affect our outward attitudes and effectiveness. Such double-mindedness and hypocrisy is a grave sin in the sight of God.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
    Revelation 3:15‭-‬16 KJV

  11. THY KINGDOM COME

    DIG IN AND GO IN

7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

We learn from this illustration that even when there appears to be nothing, there is more. The call of GOD here to the man of GOD is to reveal the wickedness of the people. When the Kingdom of GOD is present, we understand that if we will seek we can find what the LORD is attempting to reveal to us.

The instruction from the LORD was to “Dig IN” or reveal more, seek more. Too often we are content and satisfied with the surface, but GOD leads us to MORE.

The next step was to “Go IN”. We cannot clearly see or understand a matter until we completely “Go IN” to an opportunity.

The Kingdom of GOD operates on the same principal. The is ALWAYS more of GOD to reveal. If we will

“Dig IN” to the WORD of GOD we will “Go IN” to The Kingdom of GOD”.

Lets waste no time. Lets get to church on Friday Night and “Dig IN” to the WORD of GOD and “Go IN” to the Kingdom at The POFW.

  12. 18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Wow! Lord thank you for your mercy for your grace and definitely for your patience.

  13. Then he brought me to the door of the Temple courtyard, where I could see a hole in the wall. He said to me, “Now, son of man, dig into the wall.” So I dug into the wall and found a hidden doorway. “Go in,” he said, “and see the wicked and detestable sins they are committing in there!” So I went in and saw the walls covered with engravings of all kinds of crawling animals and detestable creatures. I also saw the various idols worshiped by the people of Israel.
    Ezekiel 8:7‭-‬10 NLT

    The definition of idol:
an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.
synonyms: icon, representation of a god, image, effigy, statue, figure, figurine, fetish, totem; More
    graven image, false god.

An idol today can be anything it can be something we love, it can be something we do, it can be something we admire. It might even be ourselves. My question is if we dig down and deep into our heart what kind of idols do we have that nobody knows about. We can look good on the outside and we can play the part of a Christian and fool people but deep down in our heart what is that we might be hiding.

We need to dig deep and search our heart because we might be able to fool man but God is never fooled He knows everything. We need to begin to dig deep and Search His Word and repent. When we pray and search His Word it will identify every area that we are lacking but it will also restore and enhance our relationship with Him. We serve a jealous God and He alone deserve the praise and Glory.

  14. 17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I

Because of the abominations of the people God was furious. They angered him sorely. We must be mindful of our actions and make sure they are pure before God. The last thing we want is God’s judgment against us.

  15. iLove the Kingdom 👑
Wow, very powerful chapter of scripture today. Just yesterday I talked to a young Minister at BOTT and described this exact chapter of scripture not realizing that it would be today’s reading. First I would like to post a chart that might help some understand the significance of how this scripture applies to each one of us today. Then I’ll give alittle insight

    • This chart helps us understand the comparisons of the Old Testament temple and the New Testament temple. In today’s reading, God is “ticked off” at what’s going on in his temple. The Lord is a jealous God and there are idols and images along with idolitry all inside the temple. Looking at our chart above, we can see the human body is the New Testament temple. The flesh of man is considered the outer court. The lavender of water was in this area and can symbolize a person needing to be baptized. The mind of man can be considered the Holy Place while the heart (or spirit) can be considered the Most Holy Place.

How can we relate this information to our lives today?

What images do we allow to remain in our “Most Holy Place?” What are we looking 👀 at that is causing the temple of God to be defiled? What are we hearing that is defiling the temple of God?

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”
      ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We MUST keep the Temple clean

  16. 12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

  17. Standing in a garage doesn’t make you a car. Just the same God revealed His people at the temple “secretly” worshipping idols. You gotta be real with yourself and realize you’re not fooling anyone. That temple may have once been a place for God to dwell, but when you welcome other idols and false gods, you push God out. He is a jealous God that wants our whole hearts, and seeks those that worship in Spirit and truth.

Hallelujah POFW is Gods house – it’s the Kings house!!

  18. 3 And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven…

God has shown visions in dreams or led people to places where He could talk with them. Here, God snatched him away by the hair on his head – can you imagine? God starts talking to you and in a moment you are snatched up by your hair!

How do you hear from God? Some say things like, “God spoke to me” or “The Lord told me.” What does that mean? Did they hear an audible voice like Samuel? We primarily hear from God by regularly spending time reading the Bible and obeying what it says. All that we need to know to live the Christian life is written in this book. As we spend time in His word, God reveals Himself to us.

  19. 7 And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.

    THE SECRET PLACE

MY HEART IS LIKE A HOUSE, ONE DAY I LET THE SAVIOR IN
THERE ARE MANY ROOMS WHERE WE WOULD VISIT NOW AND THEN.
BUT THEN ONE DAY HE SAW THAT DOOR I KNEW THE DAY HAD COME TOO SOON
I SAID JESUS I’M NOT READY FOR US TO VISIT IN THAT ROOM

    CHORUS 1

THERE’S A PLACE IN MY HEART WHERE EVEN I WOULDN’T GO
I HAVE SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE I DON’T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
BUT HE HANDED ME THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE SAID I WANT TO MAKE YOU FREE LET ME GO IN YOUR SECRET PLACE.

SO I OPENED UP THE DOOR AND THE TWO OF US WALKED IN
I WAS SO ASHAMED I’D REVEALED MY HIDDEN SIN.
BUT WHEN I THINK ABOUT THAT ROOM NO I’M NOT AFRAID ANYMORE
FOR I KNOW MY HIDDEN SIN NO LONGER HIDES BEHIND THAT DOOR.

    CHORUS 2
THERE WAS A PLACE IN MY HEART WHERE EVEN I WOULDN’T GO
I HAD SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE I DIDN’T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
BUT HE HANDED ME THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE MADE ME FREE I LET HIM IN MY SECRET PLACE.

IS THERE A PLACE IN YOUR HEART WHERE EVEN YOU DON’T GO
YOU HAVE SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE YOU DON’T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
WELL HE’S HANDING YOU THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE WANTS TO MAKE YOU FREE LET HIM GO IN YOUR SECRET PLACE.

  20. 4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

5 Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

  21. 12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

    HE seen you first!
It don’t matter if it’s in the dark or not the lord still sees your every move. The word says to either be in or out. Hot or cold, not Lukewarm!
I see a lot of people doing this type of stuff. I know I’m still fairly new to the church and all but I just don’t understand why people playing with the word of God like that.

“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Talk some sense in them!
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  22. Just as the profit describes him here, God is described as a consuming fire. ‘Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.’ That fire has a dual purpose… and we get to choose which will be fulfilled in our lives!

On the one hand, we see the hidden idolatry of Israel. They somehow believed that what was hidden from the eyes of man would be likewise hidden from the all knowing eyes of God. His prophet declares the fire of his destruction upon them for such grossness of sin in the very temple of God. That end is the end of all who choose to pursue the passing pleasures of this world.. but there is another choice.

We can allow that same consuming fire to purge those desires from our heart. We can place them on his altar even if they’ve possessed and bound us in the past and God himself will consume them. They’ll no longer have a hold on our heart.. his fire within will set us free! If we freely choose to allow him the liberty to consume our sins we need not fear the consuming fire of God’s wrath. His blood will wash us white as snow and our place will now be by his side! The same sins, the same decision, the same God… and yet it is the choice of these weak creatures called man that determines our eternal end!

  23. 12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
God showed Ezekiel what the children of Israel were doing in secret was affecting them and their children openly.
We serve an omnipotent, omniscient God who knows our every need, our every desire, our mind, our joys, our fears, our weaknesses and our strengths. He knows what we need to grow to be more like him and he knows what needs to be removed from our lives that will draw us away from him.
We must be very careful that everything we do both when others are around and especially when we are alone will be a joy and not a sorrow to God. That it will draw us closer to him rather than pushing us away from him.
But those things which proceed out if the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.( Matt 15:18)

  24. We must cleanse both flesh and spirit!!!
    1 Thessalonians 5:23
” I Pray GOD your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
GOD requires holiness both body and spirit.

  25. Ezekiel 8:12
“Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chamber of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.”

You can’t hid from God. He knows and sees everything we do. NOTHING is hid from Him.

  26. Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

When your hungry God is the only one that can satisfy that need! Raise your head and receive the blessing from God. Don’t let the devil make you walk with your head down full of shame!! Let that fire keep burning inside of you, raise your head and keep your eyes upon the Lord!

  27. 6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

Nothing can be hidden from God, just because we cannot physically see Him does not mean He cannot see us. But not only can God see us, but He can reveal things about us to our man of God. Do not believe that just because you sin in secret means it will stay a secret. What would everyone see if God held an open house in your life today?

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Search and know me, oh God, and if there be anything that is not pleasing to you, if there be anything that I have put ahead of you, I pray that you would remove it from me!

  28. 11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

God sees what happens behind closed doors. From what we listen to in the car, to when we are home alone. He sees and knows all. If we are doing anything that is an abomination to him. He knows. For his kingdom to come, I must be pure and holy before him.

  29. 11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

The elders portrayed that they were religious, but behind closed doors, the Lord saw their hypocrisy. He knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts, so we must be true, not deceiving our own selves.

  30. 18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

I am reminded of my children, and when they decided to be hard headed, when they were babies, and I would let them cry, to teach them. They would get louder and louder, and as long as I refused to give in, they would eventually give up, and essentially repent, turn from what they were trying for. Tough love is hard. True love is tough. As a child I never understood about how me getting swats hurt my parents more than me, but looking back, I can almost remember ever swat that I gave my oldest, and although I know it was for her good, and I know she doesn’t remember them, they still grieve me.

If I could love that much… I have a hard time comprehending the rich depth of Jesus’s love for me… for each of us.

  31. 8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
God told the prophet to dig in the wall, which led to a door, which led to the wicked abominations. Sometimes we need to dig a little deeper and allow the Spirit of God to do a deep cleansing of our hearts. No wonder David prayed, [Psa 19:12-13 KJV] 12 Who can understand [his] errors? cleanse thou me from secret [faults]. 13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous [sins]; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
We have to get beyond a surface relationship where everything appears to be ok and get to the root of our being.

  32. 4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

  33. Therefore will I also deal in fury, mine eye shall not spare, neither have pity, and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

  34. 10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about

Whats done in the dark always come to the light!

  35. Then the Lord said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the leaders of Israel are doing with their idols in dark rooms? They are saying, ‘The Lord doesn’t see us; he has deserted our land!’”(Ezekiel 8:12 NLT)

Gods speaking to Ezekiel about how his people take idols to dark rooms to worship them and think that He can’t see them. The truth is that God sees and hears everything. He knows and created the heart of man, and there is no place we can hide that God doesn’t know it. He is always there waiting for his people to repent and turn back to him.

  36. The eviction letter to God

He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.

What could possibly make God want to leave his own house? When the money changers came into the temple it made Jesus mad enough to flip over the tables and Braden his own whip to beat the men with. The thing that makes God so angry in his house is when we don’t keep the main thing the main thing. The main reason for the church is to see sinners saved. The second reason for the church is to teach them and guide them through the process of growing closer to God. This process will never be done. When we get our hearts off these two things it becomes just a place to meet. The church is to be a house of prayer a place of worship and a place of deliverance. A place of sacrifice a place of healing and a place of mercy. Whenever we lose sight of the real reason for the church, it ceases to be the house of God and we essentially tell God we don’t want him here anymore.

  37. “And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord God fell there upon me.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    665. That is the order the numbers go in. God starts this chapter out with 665. It’s one number off the dreaded 666.

6 is the number of man. 5 is the number of Grace for man. That means the number was man, man, grace for man. Man was doing all that he could. Worship of idols occurred right in the temple. People were destroyed. Man wanted and man was getting, but God… God disrupted the things that were going on.

God was allowing someone to see this grotesque thing that was happening so that it could stop.

  38. 17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

18 Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Our God is a jealous God. We see here all kinds of abominations and many different idol worship and all of it was an abomination. We may say well I don’t worship this or that but have we really searched our hearts and lives to see such way we turn? What is taking up my time talent and treasure? Is it for the King and his Kingdom or some other way that my heart turns to?

  39. And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord , between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord , and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
    Ezekiel 8:16 KJV

Jesus, show us where there may be idol worship if ever in Your presence. Let us never turn our backs on you for any reason. Lord, we bless Your name

  40. 11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

There is nothing hidden from the Lord. He sees all and knows all. Too many times, we try to hid what we do, or don’t do, thinking that no one knows, but we can rest assure that God is taking account of it all.

  41. 17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

While he was sitting in his own home Ezekiel was given a vision from the Lord of all the abominations of the elders/ancients of Judah have done. Judah means praise. Praise is a choice one has to make, will we praise self, Satan or God. They have chosen to worship false gods in various forms of idols, such as in dark places with strange incense, weeping for false dead gods like tammuz, or bowing down to the sun in the east like Muslims do. The people are goinv in all different directions because without the vision of a shepard the people perish.

The cherubim lucifer was designed to praise God and was made beautiful because of God’s glory that he reflected. When he began to think that praise should be his own is when he tried to take God’s place. This is what bought him a lightning bolt to earth. His presence is not what God warned Adam and Eve about at the Garden of Eden, instead he warned not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Why would God not warn them the real problem is the presence of temptation and rebellion brought to earth by lucifer? Because God gives free will and wants us to love him and obey him no matter the obstacles because he’s rooting on our team that we will resist the enemy and he will flee.

  42. God sees all and knows all and He is willing to let us in on what He sees. He is willing to let us see the abomination of man. The sin that is distorting humanity the question is what will we do with what He shows us? Are we willing to be used by Him to transform their lives or will be sit in silence and do nothing. Humanity is lost yet we have the cure to all their needs. We must work while there is time.

  43. Don’t turn your back on God. Only way for us to make it in this life, is to allow God to work on us. It is by his power that we can do all things. Our strength and help is in the Lord.

  44. 4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

Make sure you see God in your visions before you reference is really God.

Somethings are to be secret between you and God.

  45. 4 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

Jesus has a way in all of our lives in Jesus name

  46. Ezekiel 9:12 (English Amp) Then said He to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his [ secret] chambers of [ idol] pictures? For they say, The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land. The Lord knows everything that you do, You can’t hide nothing , Rest asure that you will be accountable for your sin. Your not the judge the Lord is. We must work for his kingdom while there is time left. Amen is Jesus name.

  47. 15“Have you seen this?” he asked. “But I will show you even more detestable sins than these!”

Sin is sin. It’s not whether one sin is worse than the other, but it’s that people continue to sin before God. They did not learn from there sinful nature. God sees you doing the same thing over and over. We have to know God and ask for forgiveness.

  48. “He brought me to the north gate of the Lord’s Temple, and some women were sitting there, weeping for the god Tammuz. “Have you seen this?” he asked. “But I will show you even more detestable sins than these!””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭8:14-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We were created to honor God. To magnify the glory of God. And the glory of God can’t dwell with the sin of the people. Sin creates separation between the people and God. We can’t allow the influences of this world into our hearts.
