Ezekiel 9

He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;

And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not.

10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

  1. Ezekiel 9
4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Father I pray for those who do not obey your Word. I pray that those I am teaching and reaching out to will see your reflection of peace, love and joy. If they could only see living for You is easy and that the world is the difficult life.
There is so much to be found in obedience and how sad to watch so many turn and walk away. Oh that they will not wait until it is too late. God help me to reach and teach by example of Your goodness! Let me speak with Your mouth, touch with Your hands, see with Your eyes, hear with Your ears and feel with Your heart in Jesus Name. Let the world see You in my life .

    Psalms 119:136
Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.

  2. He said to him, “Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable sins being committed in their city.” Then I heard the Lord say to the other men, “Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all—old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin right here at the Temple.” So they began by killing the seventy leaders.
    Ezekiel 9:4‭-‬6 NLT

In the end, we will all be known by the marks we wear, whether the mark of the beast or the mark of the interceding, obedient child of God. These marks can be seen by all. One looks like the world; the other looks “peculiar.” No one was spared being judged by the mark, even the small children. We must teach our children separation and intercession from the earliest age.

Can we say as Paul did:
From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
    Galatians 6:17 KJV

The mark on their heads represented them being called out by God and separated. God has called us all to separate ourselves unto Him. When we do he will mark us and make us a peculiar people. That’s a sign of Holiness

  4. 10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

    Mercy… Mercy… Mercy!!!

  5. 8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not

We must interceded for our city that they be not deceived into believing any other word about who God is and that there is no other

  6. He said to him, “walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark
on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable
sins being committed in there city.”
    Ezekiel 9:4 NLT

This passage goes along with what we heard last night ( Holiness) in order to reach our city we need to be example for the city. we need to be a peculiar people.
People don’t care how much you know but how much you care for them !

  7. Then said he unto me, the iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perversness for they say, the Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not. And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head. And behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

  8. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Who’s mark do you bear? Are you standing out as a peculiar child of God?!

  9. While they were striking them down, I was left alone, and I threw myself face down and cried out, “Ah, sovereign Lord ! Will you destroy the entire remnant of Israel when you pour out your fury on Jerusalem?” He said to me, “The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is extremely great; the land is full of murder, and the city is full of corruption, for they say, ‘The Lord has abandoned the land, and the Lord does not see!’
    Ezekiel 9:8‭-‬9
Let’s go out and reach our city with the gospel! There’s not much time , our responsibility is A.L.M.A.S./SOULS. Repentance, Baptized in Jesus Name, and filled with the Holy Ghost is our mission in the city of Fort Worth.

Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted.
    Ephesians 4:30 MSG
Without The Spirit Of GOD, we are none of His.

  10. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.
5 as I listened, he said to the others, follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion.
6 Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary. So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple

Who mark do you have the mark of the devil or the mark of GOD the end is coming and we got to decide are we going to live for GOD and be separated from the world or are we going to live for the world and be separated from GOD the people in this chapter had the mark represents separation meaning there was separated from the world they don’t did what others did
    LET ThY KINGDOM COME

  12. THY KINGDOM COME
    THY WILL BE DONE

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

We understand from this passage that every mission and assignment from GOD to fulfill HIS will is not a glorious mission. However we learn the value and importance of accomplishing and fulfilling HIS will.

    When we PRAY:
Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

The will of GOD in this chapter is not one that would make us popular or famous. However, the servant said “I have done as thou hast commanded me.”

My prayer daily is that I can testify to the LORD that “I have done as thou hast commanded me”.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done.

We are not seeking the glory of man, but the glory of GOD.

Thank you Jesus! For marking our lives to serve you. God only has marked is but has called to to be set apart and examples to those that are lost. We must show His love to this community, this city, and this world. Let’s not hide it anymore let’s creat an explosion of the fire of the Holy Ghost.

  14. Ezekiel 9:6 (English Amp) Slay outright the elderly, the young man and the women; But do not touch or go near anyone on whom is the mark. Begin at My sanctuary. So they began with the old men were in front of the temple [ Who did not have the Lord’s mark on their foreheads]. [ 1Peter.4:17] For the time [ has arrived] for judgement to begin with the household of God; and if it beings with us, what will be the end of those who do not respect or believe or obey the good news ( the Gospel) of God? Who’s mark will you choose, For my soul I will choose God’s mark. My prayer today is Lord what is your commandment today.

  15. 1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

The stronghold of our cities can only be broken through prayer and men/women that know how to pray and what to pray. We can’t take lightly the stronghold that the enemy has on people. We must diligently fight in prayer and word so that people in our region can be set free, delivered and live overcoming, victoriously through Jesus Christ. It’s up to us!

  16. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

These men were not like the rest of the population, they were desiring the ways of their God to be revived in that city. That must be our hearts cry too, that there is a revival of Jesus name baptism, a revival of the infilling of the Holy ghost so that holiness can prevail in our city.

  17. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

  18. This verse should give pause to anyone who feels separation from the world alone is sufficient in the eyes of God: ‘And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.’ He didn’t say to spare the righteous… because living a righteous life in and of itself is not sufficient in the eyes of God. He’s not looking for conformance to the law but for the transformation from within!

The mindset that we can live our lives the way we choose and they can live their lives the way they choose is a worldly mindset. God expects his people to be so close to his nature that the sins of the world around them would drive them to moan in their spirits as they cry out to him in prayer to make a difference! We don’t just separate ourselves from sin, we dedicate ourselves unto him, and then go back right into the midst of a sinful world striving to make a difference in whosoever will!

It’s important to recognize that the prophet isn’t splitting hairs here. After marking those who were grieved and crying out to God concerning the sin around them, he sends in the angels of destruction to slay the rest. We can’t afford to become comfortable with sin in our walk with God. It’s not just a matter of our effectiveness… it is the deciding factor in whether God truly considers is to be one of his! All our heart, all our mind, all our strength, all that we are, given over to him and his service!

  19. 9Then he said to me, “The sins of the people of Israel and Judah are very, very great. The entire land is full of murder; the city is filled with injustice.

Just like our cities of today, they are filled with murders and injustice. God has or will grow tired of seeing great sin. People continue to sin willfully and eventually our nation will pay the price.

  20. 6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. J. SOLIZ

  21. 6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

Sin… it’s no respecter of person. From the young to the old, the rich and the pour.

But thank you Jesus when he died on the cross, he is no respecter of person either. He came to seek and to save that which was lost. Because of His grace we can live again. Thy Kingdom Come

  22. And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

I pray for the day that we daily and preach His Gospel in the highways. A gospel that is living and the truth!!! God is able to do anything!!! I desire so much to see the lost souls repent, get baptized in Jesus Name, and live for God!!! Lord I know this will happen in Jesus Name!!!

  23. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be do

  24. Ezekiel 9:4 (AMP)
“The LORD said to him, Go through the midst of the city, throughout all of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh (in distress) and grieve over all the repulsive acts which are being committed in it.”

The question is, “Are we sighing, crying, or grieving over the city of Fort Worth and the repulsive acts that are being done in it? Are we seeking Repentance, Forgivness, Meercy, Cleansing, and Salvation for our city?”
God knows those who are truly crying out (PRAYING in INTERCESSION) for our city.

  25. iLove the Kingdom

1 Then the Lord thundered, “Bring on the men appointed to punish the city! Tell them to bring their weapons with them!” 2Six men soon appeared from the upper gate that faces north, each carrying a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man dressed in linen, who carried a writer’s case at his side. They all went into the Temple courtyard and stood beside the bronze altar.

Wow, this scripture should make each and everyone of us be extremely careful how we act in the house of the Lord knowing that any moment judgement might happen. I’ve heard of prophets saying thus saith the Lord and judgement falling upon people. I don’t understand why folks think just because this is the hour of grace that judgement can not happen. Ananias (Hebrew, “the Lord is gracious”) and Sapphira (Aramaic, “beautiful”) were under the new covenant and were under grace. Even Ananias’ name means “God is gracious” and yet they were judged in the New Testament under grace. Let us walk carefully

  26. 4. And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
Those that were marked of Lord were not comfortable with the trends, ungodliness and blatant abominations coming forth from the people of the city. They saw these iniquities and abominations on a daily basis. It grieved their spirit as they cried unto the Lord.
Are we uncomfortable with all of the iniquity around us today? Does it grieve our spirit and make us cry to the Lord? Does it convict us to hold fast to Jesus; turn away from the things of this world and to tell others of his saving grace in hopes of them being saved?
Are we bearing the mark of the Lord in our lives?

  27. 2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

The agent of God here in the white linen was carrying an ink horn. He was prepared to make an account of what had happened or some would say he was planning to be accountable for his mission. Accountability is not someone checking up on you but you giving an account for your own actions willingly so that you may be counted faithful. In the parable of the talents the master came back to check on his investment but the good serve ya were ready to give an account.

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

Perfect servant hood is not being perfect but it is giving a perfect account or being perfectly accountable to the master.

  28. 1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

    Prepared.

The men came with destroying weapons in their hands. They were ready for battle. Then there was he one that came with an inkhorn too. God had not shared that he needed an inkhorn, but he had one. It was necessary for what he needed to accomplish. God always provides the tools necessary before we need them. We just have to stay equipped. If we put things down that he wants us to use them we are the ones who make ourselves not prepared. Just like in Genesis, God gives everything that is needed before it is needed. It’s just up to us to see the value and use it as needed.

  29. And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
    Ezekiel 9:4 KJV
We cannot live this life without a burden for the lost. We cannot be unmoved by the evil around us. We must be salt and light, preserving what is good and driving out darkness.

  30. Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the Lord called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.”
    Ezekiel 9:3‭-‬4 NIV

We as the body of Christ have a special privilege to intercede for the lost. If there is breath in their bodies it’s not too late. There is a dying world that needs prayer warriors, ambassadors to go forth in the mighty name of Jesus and call them away from the cliff they’re about to walk off.

  31. 6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

We as the church are all marked by His blood, and have been given His name.

Also, another good reason to make sure you are at church….

  32. Ezekial 9:6 utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women:but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obeyeth not the gospel of God?

We must repent everyday and Obey the Word of God!

  33. ADVANCE THE KINGDOM!

PRAY for a spirit of love and unity among the people of God and that God would
heal any divisions, hurts, and unforgiveness, because “if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand” (Mark 3:24).

My mind is on the kingdom and the works of the kingdom will be completed. Jesus really does not need us but wants us for his kingdom because we were made for his glory. Jesus name amen

  34. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

God tells Ezekiel to go through the city of Jerusalem to mark all those men who worship abominations. This means all men, women and children of all ages, shapes and colors. The only thing that matters is the devotion and obedience a person has to God. Everyone who was marked was killed. It’s to reversal to the lambs blood on the door post to ward off the death angel in the last plague of Egypt. The Holy Ghost is the upon us that signifies our separation from the world. Would we be known of God or marked for death?

  35. 9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not.

God sees everything that we do and had knowledge of what we will do, even with that in mind he still gives Jerusalem at chance to repent. They are blind spiritually and cannot see the judgment headed their way. The Lord has never forsaken his people however, his people have forsaken him, turning to abominable wickedness.

  36. “He said to him, “Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all who weep and sigh because of the detestable sins being committed in their city.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭9:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord, I pray that you would teach me to love the things you love and hate the things you hate. Allow us to be moved by compassion as you were move with compassion over your people.

  37. 9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not.

10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head.

11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

  38. 1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.

    3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer’s inkhorn by his side;

4 And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

It is a great comfort to believers, that in the midst of destroyers and destructions, there is a Mediator, a great High Priest, who has an interest in heaven, and in whom saints on earth have an interest. The representation of the Divine glory from above the ark, removed to the threshold, denoted that the Lord was about to leave his mercy-seat, and to pronounce judgment on the people. The distinguishing character of this remnant that is to be saved, is such as sigh and cry to God in prayer, because of the abominations in Jerusalem. Those who keep pure in times of general wickedness, God will keep safe in times of general trouble and distress.

  39. In the CEV this chapter is captioned “The Lord Gives the Command To Punish Jerusalem”. When the command of the Lord goes out, it will be done. Now, are we going to have an obedient heart to go as we are commanded??? We must open our eyes to what is going on around us and in our world, in our nation, and in our city.

  40. 8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord God! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem
