Ezekiel 33

Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22 Now the hand of the Lord was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?

27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

    3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

The prophet is a watchman to the house of Israel. His business is to warn sinners of their misery and danger. He must warn the wicked to turn from their way, that they may live. If souls perish through his neglect of duty, he brings guilt upon himself. See what those have to answer for, who make excuses for sin, flatter sinners, and encourage them to believe they shall have peace, though they go on. How much wiser are men in their temporal than in their spiritual concerns! They set watchmen to guard their houses, and sentinels to warn of the enemies’ approach, but where the everlasting happiness or misery of the soul is at stake, they are offended if ministers obey their Master’s command, and give a faithful warning; they would rather perish, listening to smooth things.

  2. Verses 17-20 MSG “‘Your people say, “The Master’s way isn’t fair.” But it’s the way they’re living that isn’t fair. When good people turn back from living good lives and plunge into sin, they’ll die for it. And when a wicked person turns away from his wicked life and starts living a just and righteous life, he’ll come alive. “‘Still, you keep on saying, “The Master’s way isn’t fair.” We’ll see, Israel. I’ll decide on each of you exactly according to how you live.’” Many try to blame this, that or the other for the way they are, the way they live and the things they have done. But in verse 20 it says “I’ll decide on each of YOU exactly according to how YOU live; so, no more blame game. The ultimate choice is YOURS.

Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT says “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Listen to your watchman that the Lord has placed in your life, heed the warnings and choose life.

  3. Ezekiel 33:11 (AMP)
“Say to them, As I live, says the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back (change your way of thinking), turn back (in repentance) from your evil way! For why should you die, O house of Israel?”

2 Peter 3:9b says, “… but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

The Lord doesn’t want anyone to die in their sins, but wants all men to repent (turn from their wicked ways) and live.
And the only way they are going to know to repent (turn from their wicked ways) and live is by us sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

  4. Ezequiel 33:1-6
Watchmen: All leaders are stewards of God given resources. If a leader sees calamity approaching and sounds the trumpet to warn the people, he has done his work. If the watchman fails to warm the people of approaching disaster, God will hold the watchman accountable for the lives lost.

Sometimes God shows the leaders about what happened or was going to happen with an individual before or after . I wonder what would be the response if the individual was warn of the approaching destruction ?
Sometimes is better to warn the person before is to late!!!
A sobering truth about the awesome responsibility of a leadership!

  5. 2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

The pastor’s job is the watchmen. The craiziest and most courageous job given by God to a man. This job is not for cowards, it takes someone willing to stand in the gap and do what others won’t. He is held to a higher standard than his people and sacrifices more than most know. The more I understand about this job the more I appreciate my Bishop. He is willing to take an account for me on judgement day and had devoted his life to others. This is why I will always back up my Bishop and will not let others tear him down or speak ill of him.

  6. Ezekiel 33:9 (English Amp) But if you warn that wicked to turn from His evil way and he does not turn from His evil way, He shall die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life. The Lord is speaking to the Israelite that are captives in Babylon. So he sends a watchman to warns them . The Lord dont anybody to die in there sins, He rather for you to repeat , Turn away and preach his gospel.

  7. “If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths. But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So thankful for the watchmen in my life. Their responsibility is great. But the one thing I’m most thankful for is the boldness to not back down from telling the truth. The truth is not always easy but it’s still right. If we don’t take heed to the warning that is no ones fault but our own.

  8. 11 As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

8 If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths.
9 But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.

Go out and share the gospel!! God wants to see His people saved!

  9. 31. They come to you, just as people flock to see someone famous. My people sit at your feet and seem to hang on your every word, but they never apply those sacred instructions to their own lives. For they act as they speak-with lustful desire-and think only of how they’ll make a profit.

    32. To them you are nothing more than a gifted singer of lustful songs, a teller of tales, a master of instruments! They hear what you say but fail to put any of it into practice.

    33. But when the messages you’ve given them actually come true-and I assure you, everything you tell them is going to come true-they will realize a true prophet has been among them. Voice

It’s amazing to watch these ancient words still being true and relevant today, with so many flocking to the mega churches just to hear someone ‘famous’ speak, and then there are the stages full of flashing lights, smoke, and performers trying to feel like rockstars…all while ignoring the Truth many of them know and used to live themselves.

    1 Corinthians 2:4
    4. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: KJV

  10. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

God has given us a pastor to watch over our souls and speak the truth of God’s word to us.

  11. “As for you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you must warn them on my behalf. When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you must certainly die,’ and you do not warn the wicked about his behavior, the wicked man will die for his iniquity, but I will hold you accountable for his death. But if you warn the wicked man to change his behavior, and he refuses to change, he will die for his iniquity, but you have saved your own life.
    Ezekiel 33:7‭-‬9 NET

Making it plain! As a church we have a great responsibility. It is all about bringing in A.L.M.A.S/S.O.U.L.S into His Kingdom.

And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
    Luke 14:23 KJV

  12. iLove the Kingdom
6But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

This is the reason preachers (especially pastors) must preach the Word of God regardless of the outcome. God is good and he is worthy to be praised. Please do not get mad at the preacher for the message, just repent and allow God to save you from the pending judgement.

  13. So many people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you.
They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what
you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts
Seek only after money. Ezekiel 33: 31 NLT

  14. Ezekiel 33
    Message

30-32 “As for you, son of man, you’ve become quite the talk of the town. Your people meet on street corners and in front of their houses and say, ‘Let’s go hear the latest news from God.’ They show up, as people tend to do, and sit in your company. They listen to you speak, but don’t do a thing you say. They flatter you with compliments, but all they care about is making money and getting ahead. To them you’re merely entertainment—a country singer of sad love songs, playing a guitar. They love to hear you talk, but nothing comes of it.

33 “But when all this happens—and it is going to happen!—they’ll realize that a prophet was among them.”

    A Prophet of God
A Watchnan to Alert us of Pending Danger
Words given to Him by God
One who cares and not afraid to speak truth
    Our Watchnan Our Pastor

We make the choice by listening to the Commands of the Watchnan he sits in the high places leading to protect us. if we do not heed to the warnings then it will not be because the Watchnan gave no warning. but because of our on foolish ways .
Is he your Entertainer or Your Watchnan

God set the Pastor to watch out for your soul. Take heed to his words.
For the day will come when God will say I set a prophet right in your face what happened then it will be too late.

Help me God to listen to follow the commands of the Watchnan.

  15. “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our job is to SEW THAT SEED!
Each and everyday I walk by someone I imagine what I could’ve said or should’ve said that might have changed this persons life.
If you have a burden for the Lost then you know exactly what I’m talking about.

A man a few months back told me not to get discouraged about all the people I was witnessing to. He told me I was Sewing a seed and God seed that. He told me that as long as I’m sewing that seed there’s nothing more I can do at that point I can just pray and water that seed until it sprouts into that little green plant.

The scripture above says if we do not warn the wicked then his blood is on us.
Now if that don’t fire you up to GO spread some Gospel then I don’t know what will.
Let’s get this day going good and walk in the spirit and be Obedient to the voice of God when he gives us that little push to speak truth in their lives.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  16. THY KINGDOM COME
THE DANGER OF GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

This is the spirit of Babylon that is rampant in the world today. People speak against a man of GOD and then go to see what he has to say. Instead of going to hear what “Thus sayeth the LORD”. If a preacher is reading scripts or telling stories, he then is an orator or speaker. If a speaker is reading scripture and prophesying he then is a preacher or man of and for GOD.

The WORD of GOD and the Holy Ghost establish the difference. While church can be entertaining, it is not for entertainment.

  17. 7 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.
8 When I say to the wicked, oh wicked man, you will surely die, and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, the wicked man will die for his sins, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.
9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sins, but you will have saved yourself.

You can take a pig dress her up and put her in the White House or a grand cathedral. The pig can hear your words but the actions of that pig identifies that that is not a person it’s a pig.

We must understand that hearing without obedience does not make you a child of God. Our obedience grants us access into sonship.

  19. He returns what was taken in pledge, pays back what he has stolen, and follows the statutes that give life, committing no iniquity. He will certainly live – he will not die. None of the sins he has committed will be counted against him. He has done what is just and right; he will certainly live.
    Ezekiel 33:15‭-‬16 NET

I was asked yesterday if someone can lose their salvation. Of course you can’t, they say one safe always safe. Then I read the scripture today and I say well here we go then.

  20. 7 Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

God has put Pastor over us to be the watchman! Our lives is on his hands, he has the last say so. He has to be sensative to the spirit and warn us as individuals or as a whole. Yet at the end it’s our own decision to accept it or not! God will send Pastor to warm us but we have a choice. I have learned in my walk with God that even if I don’t like it I will do what God tells me because His plans are better than my own plans! Gods knows what’s best for me! Lord I always want to do your will! I always want to live for you Lord!!

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”declares the Lord.“As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

  21. 8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

We must make sure as people of God that we speak the bible truth to everyone that God sends our way. Even if they don’t want to hear it because if we don’t we risk blood being on our hands and the displeasure of God.

  22. 13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
    14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

We must stay on this strait and narrow path to be saved. The Holy Ghost in the “earnest” of our salvation and we must continue in His ways and not our own. We must encourage one another, lift up the hands of brothers and sisters and not sit idle when we see someone slip back into this world. When we can’t reach them with encourage, prayer goes where we can’t.

  23. came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

    3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

  24. 5. MSG He heard the alarm, he ignored it—it’s his own fault. If he had listened, he would have saved his life.

Sin is death. Our individual struggle against sin is not a walk in the park but rather a bloody war. When we are honest with ourselves and start digging at the root of the sin in our lives it takes more than a snip here and a snip there to remove it. The center of our deliverance from sin is the blood of Jesus. If we had been saved from the penalty and the power of sin another way — a peaceful way, a pleasant way, a tender way — sin would not have the power it does. But with a bloody crucifixion at the center of everything, we should not be surprised that we are drawn into very serious warfare.

Our enemy is never sleeping. We must be vigilant and never careless. This life is war and every time we meet the sin; we must meet it with a sword. No truce, no compromise, no prisoners. Fight to the death. Why is Saturday night called warfare prayer? Is it an accident? No, it is war; a fight to the death of the enemy.

Romans 8:13 AMP for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever.

  25. 17-19 “‘Your people say, “The Master’s way isn’t fair.” But it’s the way they’re living that isn’t fair. When good people turn back from living good lives and plunge into sin, they’ll die for it. And when a wicked person turns away from his wicked life and starts living a just and righteous life, he’ll come alive.

    If there’s LIFE there’s HOPE.
No person has gone too far from the grasp of Gods loving forgiveness. However, it is up to us to go to Him and live the righteous life!

  26. They heard the alarm but ignored it, so the responsibility is theirs. If they had listened to the warning, they could have saved their lives. If I announce that some wicked people are sure to die and you fail to tell them to change their ways, then they will die in their sins, and I will hold you responsible for their deaths. But if you warn them to repent and they don’t repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.
    Ezekiel 33:5‭, ‬8‭-‬9 NLT
It’s are job to go out and tell the good news tell everyone about the Savior JESUS Christ there blood is on us if we not telling if they reject then it’s on them

  27. So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money. You are very entertaining to them, like someone who sings love songs with a beautiful voice or plays fine music on an instrument. They hear what you say, but they don’t act on it!
    Ezekiel 33:31‭-‬32 NLT

The test of sincerity is not how often you go to church, how attentively you listen to the Word, or even how much you pray. The test of one’s sincerity is obedience to the Word that results in a change of lifestyle and attitude.

We have all had those people in our lives who repeatedly come to us supposedly for help and advice, who consume our time and then do absolutely nothing with the advice we give them. They seem sincere, they want our attention, but they are intent on continuing in their own ways. They come again and again with the same problems having completely ignored the sound advice we have already given and fully expecting that we should do more for them or somehow rescue them from the consequences of their actions. It is not long before we weary with such people, we begin to ignore their calls or to avoid crossing paths. We have figured out that their repeated coming is not a test of their sincere desire for change.

I wonder if God feels that same weariness with us sometimes, when we come to Him again and again in prayer, wanting a rescue without a change of heart and action. We expect healing, but we live unhealthy lifestyles. We expect prosperity, but we don’t pay tithe. We expect forgiveness, but we don’t make peace with our brother. We expect promotion and position, but we don’t obey those that have the rule over us. We expect deliverance, but we don’t cut off the things that supply our habits–we go to the same places, hang out with the same bad influences, and continue setting the same filth before our eyes.

How much of our prayer time, altar time, is wasted with unrealistic expectations because of our own insincerity? How much of our prayer, our pleading for help, has become an abomination to the Lord, because we have turned our ears away from hearing? We want… but we do not do.

The test of sincerity is obedience.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
    James 1:22 KJV

  28. “Son of man, give your people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins.
    Ezekiel 33:12 NLT

It us what we do with what we hear that will make the difference. If we obey and turn from sin and live a righteous life we shall live. But to obey we first need to hear instruction.

  29. Ezekiel 33:6 “But if the watchman sees war coming and doesn’t blow the trumpet, warning the people, and war comes and takes anyone off , I’ll hold the watchman responsible for the bloodshed of any unwarned sinner’.

We must be Kingdom Watchers ,we must warn every person we come in contact with, preaching the Gospel.

  30. “So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money. You are very entertaining to them, like someone who sings love songs with a beautiful voice or plays fine music on an instrument. They hear what you say, but they don’t act on it!”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:31-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some people will only come to church because they want to be entertained. They don’t want to hear the word of the Lord, so it will go in one ear and out the other. However, that does not mean we stop reaching for them, we must keep witnessing out of faithfulness to God!

With that being said, we must also examine ourselves. Have I reduced church to nothing but entertainment? Or does my worship leave an impact? Is the word of God going in one ear and out the other or am I applying and putting His word into practice in my life? With every message that is preached we must seek to be challenged and seek an opportunity to serve!

  31. 1-5God’s Message came to me: “Son of man, speak to your people. Tell them, ‘If I bring war on this land and the people take one of their citizens and make him their watchman, and if the watchman sees war coming and blows the trumpet, warning the people, then if anyone hears the sound of the trumpet and ignores it and war comes and takes him off, it’s his own fault. He heard the alarm, he ignored it—it’s his own fault. If he had listened, he would have saved his life.

We must listen to the Word of God and heed His warnings. If you don’t, it’s no one’s fault but our own. Save your life and live a blessed life instead of doom.

  32. I believe we are all God’s watchmen. We are all ministers of His Word. We are all capable of telling others about the promises of God. Ezekiel has been made the watchman in this passage and he warns the people but they are taking it as entertainment. I think this is what most televangelists are, just entertainment. They will be judged for their proclimations. Will the words from our mouth be acceptable to Him? Or are we entertainment for others to mock? Let my lips praise Him and allow others to see my testimony.

  33. 18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

We are all given the right to “choose” how we live. We can either live righteously, holy unto the Lord, or we can live wickedly. No man can make anyone live one way or the other, therefore the consequences of our end is also up to us. Those that live wickedly, after the flesh, carnally will reap the rewards of the judgement of death/hell. Those that choose to put on the righteousness of God and walk after the Spirit, minding the things of the Spirit will reap the rewards of eternal life.

    I choose LIFE everlasting today!

  34. 17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

What is right in man’s eyes? When it boils down, we can find something wrong in everything. When people say that the ways of God are not going to be their ways, in this passage then they will be judged via their ways, yet we will all be judged of the Bible. Because even if I were to live by my own standards, would I truly live by them day to day, or would I slip on those as well?
Why is it so easy to do negative or think negative thoughts? Is it easier to run uphill, or downhill? Answer- downhill, yet it is easier to fall downhill as well. In our world’s culture it is always best to do it the easy way. My question is then is the right way? Is it God’s way, or the highway? Is it so easy to believe in, “Everything came by chance,” or ,” God Said…”?

For His Kingdom to be established, we must trust in the King. We must learn to follow His Ways. It’s really that simple. The way of the Lord is equal, because we will all be judged by the Bible.

  36. When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins. And suppose I tell some wicked people that they will surely die, but then they turn from their sins and do what is just and right.
    Ezekiel 33:13‭-‬14 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/ezk.33.13-14.NLT

It doesn’t matter what our past is, whether it be good or bad the bottom line is that we must always repent and follow His ways. Its never too late to repent.

  37. This passage should be familiar to many and establishes some basic principles in the kingdom. We know here that the watchman is analogous to the man of God by the very words that are spoken: ‘So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.’ Notice that it is God who establishes the watchman and God’s word that is supposed to be spoken… there is no room for the will of man in either case. The world may cry against this but it wasn’t established by the world, it was established by God… neither is it really intended for the world, but for the people of God who choose to hearken unto the voice of his watchmen.

Many in the world would also decry the judgment of God as being grievous but notice God’s will concerning his judgment. ‘Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?’ Even God is asking them why would they want to die. He wants them to live! He gives them watchmen whose very purpose is to remain attentive and warn them so they’re not caught unawares… but only if they’re willing to listen.

The largest challenge begins with a willingness to listen and obey. ‘And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.’ Notice that hearing is not enough. Even speaking well of what we’ve heard is not enough. We need to hearken, to hear attentively, and then apply what is spoken in what we do for it to profit our lives. His words have to make a difference in our hearts and truly change the course of our actions. Just like that Sunday school verse, children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right!

  38. 27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.
29 Then shall they know that I am the Lord, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

God is never mocked. We can’t play’hide n seek’ and expect to win when the judgement of God comes.

  39. They hear what you say, but they don’t act on it!(Ezekiel 33:31‭-‬32 NLT)

In this verse God is talking about the people of Israel, and how they come in pretending to have sincere hearts. They seem to be ready and willing to hear the word of God, much like the church of today comes together to hear the Word taught. We can jump, shout and praise God in the midst of the preaching but if we never allow it to enter our hearts and let God mold and use it in us we walk out the same way we walked in.

  40. Watchmen stood on the walls of a city and watched for the enemy. Their job was to warn the people of the city of any impending danger. Then it would be up to the people to take over. Ezekiel is Judah’ s watchmen and God’s spokesperson (vs7). He has the words of warning from God, and it’s his responsibility to communicate to those words to the people. Then it’s up to the people to take action, which would be to repent of their sin and rebellion. Ezekiel’s job is to faithfully fulfill his duty as a watchman. On the people can decide how they will respond. We have this same duty today as “watchmen” and ambassadors of Christ. God message of love and forgiveness must be communicated. Our responsibility is to communicate the message. We cannot control how people will respond. Only they can decide to believe in God’s message and be saved, or turn from him and be lost.

  41. 33 “Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me.

In a sense we all are watchman. It’s up to each one of us to spread God’s Word. We have to tell others of God’s plan for salvation. God can ask each of us, ‘you had many opportunities to tell your friends and family members about me, but didn’t.” When opportunities come, be ready to tell someone about Jesus.

  42. vss18-19
As with Israel, so it is today. We can turn to GOD or to the beggarly elements of this world. Times have changed, and our circumstances are certainly different, but we, too, should make a choice.
Today is a day of decision. Giving ourselves over to GOD is the wisest choice we could possibly make.
We are responsible to GOD for our choices.

  43. 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Here is the heartbeat of God! He came not to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. He is not willing that any should perish!!!! He never intended Hell for man. His plan for man was eternal paradise as long as man lived in obedience to Him.

  44. Josiah: 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Sometimes all we can do is be a light. We can cast seed after seed. We can tell testimony after testimony. We can invite and invite. But, people have to make a choice. We should not get discouraged when people say no but we should keep going and pray for them. Sometimes we cast seed and others harvest what God grew. Sometimes we harvest where others have sown. W do not see what God sees. So, let us GO FAITHFULLY even when others may not say yes then!

  45. 4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

As followers of Jesus we all should be Watchmen on the wall that warn other people. What are warning people of? An impeding danger, which is the danger of not knowing Jesus and not receiving into your life. We need to be witnesses reaching out to people to tell them about the gospel and good news of Jesus. If we tell them and they don’t listen, then they have heard the trumpet and their life is in their hands. But if we don’t tell them, then we are to blame because they could have had a chance to save themselves but they were not warned by the Watchmen which is us. So tell people about Jesus, they may reject you but it’s better than them never hearing it and having the blame fall on us for not telling them.

  46. You don’t need a pastor????

4Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

The safest place to be in eternity is under a real man of God. He watches for your soul. There are doctrines out there that say you don’t need a pastor in your life, that you are your own pastor. I say it is nice having someone dedicated to watching out for my soul. Why would you not want that???

  47. 6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

A pastor’s job is a very serious position, and unfortunately there are many or there who see it as a position of giving orders and getting money. One day every one will give an account… Thank you Jesus for a PASTOR that is ever watching.

  48. 27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

Your will or GOD’S WILL? That is the question that comes to mind in this chapter, because the place will not be able to hide you from The LORD. If it is our will ……. there is nothing better than GOD’S WILL
