Ezekiel 40

In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the Lordwas upon me, and brought me thither.

In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof, and measured the threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad; and the other threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad.

And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed.

He measured also the porch of the gate within, one reed.

Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

10 And the little chambers of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

11 And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.

12 The space also before the little chambers was one cubit on this side, and the space was one cubit on that side: and the little chambers were six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

13 He measured then the gate from the roof of one little chamber to the roof of another: the breadth was five and twenty cubits, door against door.

14 He made also posts of threescore cubits, even unto the post of the court round about the gate.

15 And from the face of the gate of the entrance unto the face of the porch of the inner gate were fifty cubits.

16 And there were narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows were round about inward: and upon each post were palm trees.

17 Then brought he me into the outward court, and, lo, there were chambers, and a pavement made for the court round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement.

18 And the pavement by the side of the gates over against the length of the gates was the lower pavement.

19 Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate unto the forefront of the inner court without, an hundred cubits eastward and northward.

20 And the gate of the outward court that looked toward the north, he measured the length thereof, and the breadth thereof.

21 And the little chambers thereof were three on this side and three on that side; and the posts thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

22 And their windows, and their arches, and their palm trees, were after the measure of the gate that looketh toward the east; and they went up unto it by seven steps; and the arches thereof were before them.

23 And the gate of the inner court was over against the gate toward the north, and toward the east; and he measured from gate to gate an hundred cubits.

24 After that he brought me toward the south, and behold a gate toward the south: and he measured the posts thereof and the arches thereof according to these measures.

25 And there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

26 And there were seven steps to go up to it, and the arches thereof were before them: and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, upon the posts thereof.

27 And there was a gate in the inner court toward the south: and he measured from gate to gate toward the south an hundred cubits.

28 And he brought me to the inner court by the south gate: and he measured the south gate according to these measures;

29 And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, according to these measures: and there were windows in it and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

30 And the arches round about were five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

31 And the arches thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof: and the going up to it had eight steps.

32 And he brought me into the inner court toward the east: and he measured the gate according to these measures.

33 And the little chambers thereof, and the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, were according to these measures: and there were windows therein and in the arches thereof round about: it was fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

34 And the arches thereof were toward the outward court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.

35 And he brought me to the north gate, and measured it according to these measures;

36 The little chambers thereof, the posts thereof, and the arches thereof, and the windows to it round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

37 And the posts thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.

38 And the chambers and the entries thereof were by the posts of the gates, where they washed the burnt offering.

39 And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.

40 And at the side without, as one goeth up to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were two tables.

41 Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they slew their sacrifices.

42 And the four tables were of hewn stone for the burnt offering, of a cubit and an half long, and a cubit and an half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon also they laid the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offering and the sacrifice.

43 And within were hooks, an hand broad, fastened round about: and upon the tables was the flesh of the offering.

44 And without the inner gate were the chambers of the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south: one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

45 And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

46 And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the Lord to minister unto him.

47 So he measured the court, an hundred cubits long, and an hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar that was before the house.

48 And he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits, and he brought me by the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

  1. Verse 4 AMP “The man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears and set your heart on all that I am going to show you; for you have been brought here that I may show it to you. Declare to the house of Israel all that you see.” This verse reminds me of what Pastor spoke about Sunday night….using them body parts and working together to witness to all what we have seen. This chapter also made me think about how important measurements and/or dimensions are important to God. How do we measure up? Are we growing or entering into the dimensions that God has for us? We all have a testimony to share and can continue to help one another to grow in the Lord.

  2. 15 And from the face of the gate of the entrance unto the face of the porch of the inner gate were fifty cubits.
16 And there were narrow windows to the little chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and windows were round about inward: and upon each post were palm trees

Whole it may not be as exciting s other scriptures, there is always a reason good details out what he wants done. Just like our lives, there are so many little things and details that God has set as a standard of Holiness which may seem trivial to some but there is a reason behind it. God is intentional about everything he does to the very last detail

  3. Ezekiel 40:2(English Amp ) In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me down upon a very high mountain, on the south side of which there was what seemed to be the structure of a city. After the city of Jerusalem was taken, God is showing visions with Ezekiel how a new city is being built. To see and declare the house of Israel. Wow what a vision!

  4. Ezekiel’s vision for the temple would extend through several chapters of extensive detail… and yet some still claim that God isn’t interested in details. He doesn’t just give a general description, he says to take out a reed and measure the dimensions of what God was speaking. God wanted him to understand the magnitude of the measure of his intent… and he did so in thorough detail.

God is an all knowing God. He cares about the details because the details make a difference! There were likely many boats in Noah’s day, but we don’t read about any of them that made it through the flood.. because none of them were built to the exacting details of an all knowing God that understood what was required to survive the magnitude of the storm he was preparing for the world.

We should never balk at the details of God’s calling for his people. They aren’t just suggestions and they aren’t outdated… if anything, they are even more relevant in a world that is entirely given over to sin of such magnitude that Sodom and Gomorrah could only imagine it’s depth. We don’t need to falter in the coming storm, we need to be mighty to the pulling down of strongholds! The details matter not only for ourselves… there are people bound by the strongholds that we have been given the power to overcome. Let God make that kind of a difference through us! Let us not only submit to his exacting details, but glory in the same, that his name and his name alone would receive the praise as we reap the abundance of his harvest!

  5. 1. On April 28, during the twenty-fifth year of our captivity – fourteen years after the fall of Jerusalem – the LORD took hold of me.

    2. In a vision from God he took me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain. From there I could see toward the south what appeared to be a city. NLT

One day soon, the Spirit of the Lord will take hold of us and carry us to another city He designed!

The spirit of the lord is upon me
    His anointing is empowering
The kingdom of the lord is within me
And he’s calling me to the heavenlies…

  6. “On April 28, during the twenty-fifth year of our captivity—fourteen years after the fall of Jerusalem—the Lord took hold of me. In a vision from God he took me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain. From there I could see toward the south what appeared to be a city. As he brought me nearer, I saw a man whose face shone like bronze standing beside a gateway entrance. He was holding in his hand a linen measuring cord and a measuring rod.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In this chapter we find precise details. Everything has its place in has a role to be fulfilled. Our God is a God of order. He cares about the details. If ever we feel that God isn’t interested in the details of our lives we can refer back to this chapter. He is all knowing and all seeing. And He cares about every detail of our lives.

  7. He said to me, “son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything
I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things.
Then you will return to the people of Israel
and tell them everything you have seen.”
    Ezekiel 40: 4 NLT

God (Jesus) is a God of order everything he does he puts emphasis in the details.

  8. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Look, hear, and then set your heart on it – be sensitive the what the Lord speaks to you and let His desires become your desires. Lord today I will set my heart on what you speak and show me!

As we read these scriptures, some might not understand that this temple has not been built yet. This whole chapter is prophetic. This will be the design of the new temple that will soon be built in Jerusalem. In fact, there are already models built and plans drawn up to build this temple that are to scale of this prophecy.
    NOW PRESENTING
The Greatest Progress Toward the Rebuilding of the Holy Temple in Modern History: Blueprints for The Holy Temple

Blueprints and Computer Animation of the Sanhedrin Chamber of Hewn Stone

In his recent USA speaking engagement tour, (January 2011), Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute revealed to the public for the very first time detailed construction plans for the Chamber of Hewn Stone: the seat of the Great Sanhedrin which is a central component of the Holy Temple complex on the Temple Mount. These complete and highly intricate plans constitute the first stage of an historical undertaking of the Temple Institute: the drafting of blueprints for the entire Holy Temple complex. These plans, drawn up by a top Israeli architectural firm hired by the Temple Institute, take into account the specific requirements of the Sanhedrin assembly hall, known historically as the Chamber of Hewn Stone. At the same time these plans incorporate modern technological infrastructure necessary to a twenty-first century facility: this includes internet ports, wireless communications systems, computer data storage, elevators, air conditioning and underground parking. All these modern amenities, and many more, have been integrated into the Sanhedrin structure without compromising the integrity of the great assembly’s physical or spiritual character.
No land can be prepared, no foundation can be laid, no wall can be erected without a detailed architectual plan first being drawn up, approved by engineers and presented to the appointed site manager. The plans you are viewing on this page fulfill every requirement necessary for the immediate commencement of work on this aspect of the Holy Temple complex.

The Sanhedrin Chamber of Hewn Stone is but a single chamber in the northern wall of the Holy Temple. It was chosen as the initial focus of the blueprint project, not because of its architectural significance, per se, but because of its overwhelming spiritual significance to the world. The seventy elders of the Sanhedrin have been vested with the authority of the seventy elders whom G-d commanded Moshe to appoint in the desert:

“Then HaShem said to Moses, ‘Assemble for Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the people’s elders and officers, and you shall take them to the Tent of Meeting, and they shall stand there with You. I will come down and speak with you there, and I will increase the spirit that is upon you and bestow it upon them. Then they will bear the burden of the people with you so that you need not bear it alone.'” (Numbers 11:16-17)

These elders are not only judges, but also teachers who task is to ensure that “for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of HaShem from Jerusalem.” (Isaiah 2:3) This being said, it should also be noted that the Chamber of Hewn Stone sits in close proximity to the Ark of the Covenant, from which the sages draw Divine inspiration.

We invite all souls who long for the Holy Temple and seek a role in the historical undertaking that we have begun, to join us in our efforts.

The video below is a virtual computer-generated walk-through of the Sanhedrin Chamber of Hewn Stone.

The blueprints and the computer animation are the copyrighted property of the Temple Institute and Shmuel Balsam, architect.

  10. This Angel of the Lord is giving him exact measurements. But before he does he tells him to pay attention. He says open up them eyes, open up the ears and receive this in your heart.
Every inch of this temple is given to him and every inch has a purpose. When we’re getting a word from God it’s crucial we open up our ears and open up ours eyes and soften our hearts to receive what God has prepared for us through the man of God.
I don’t wanna miss a beat and it’s easy for your mind to wander. So reading this chapter has put a check in my flesh today to open up my ears, eyes, and heart to receive HIS word.
I believe there’s more to these numbers too so I will go back and study this out a little more.
Go today with those three things open to God. See what he shows you today!
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

  11. Details, details, details!

Years ago my family was moved into a new apartment on the second floor. We had this old couch that no one thought to measure to see if it would fit through the door of the apartment. Well after bringing it all the way up the stairs they realize it will not fit through the small hallway to even get it into the door. After a while of struggling with the couch and trying to make it work. Some finally said let’s just take it through the sliding glass door. Well, imagine that!

I said all this to say God pays attention to detail because there are somethings He wants us to have and some blessing He wants to pour into our lives. Yet we have allowed ourselves to skim on the measurements. If He can’t get it through the door He has to step back reevaluate, fix us, and then move those blessings into our lives.

Let us pay close attention to the details of the Word of God that we may measure up to the calling He has for us individually and as a church body. In this chapter, it talks about different groups of people and their chambers, How the Levites were to minister to God and the position of their chambers and so on. We cannot compare ourselves among ourselves because as the Word of God says (2 Corinthians 10:12) “it is not wise.” Yet, we must compare and measure ourselves to the Word of God!

  12. This whole chapter speaks of detail, Just as God does with our lives(he speaks to us through small detail) God cares about the small details as well as he cares about the big things, he cares that their be order In His temple (we are his temple). This order will help us establish the condition of our souls. The growth of our spiritual life depends on the details this is only conformation that God cares about the big and the little he cares to align up the details in every task that we are given , because our God is a justice God, he is a God of TODAY , he is a LIVING GOD! Our God loves us so much that he even prepares the details of our tasks 😍 just amazing

  13. THY KINGDOM COME
    WALK IN THE SPIRIT

4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

It is beautiful to witness GOD operate in the Spiritual realm. We are privileged to relate to HIS Kingdom by the natural senses that our Father gave us to enjoy here on earth.

    Eyes
    Ears
    Heart
    Mind
    Mouth

The man was instructed to use all of his soul capacities to see what GOD is doing.

    Behold with your eyes
    Hear with your ears
    Set your heart
    For the intent (mind)
    Declare (speak)

As we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD we will find ourselves in similar opportunities. GOD will use our time and quest for HIM to reveal himself and HIS Glory to us.

Notice the detail in which Ezekiel was able to describe what he saw. Our all knowing and wise GOD (King JESUS) has these details and others prepared for us as we Seek FIRST His Kingdom. But we must be willing to forsake our will, lay down our lives for HIM and follow HIS detailed plan and instructions.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Lets purpose today to Walk in the Spirit of GOD as we are led by HIM.

  14. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Sometimes God wants us just to listen to Him. To incline our ear to His voice so he can speak to us. A important part of our walk with God is being able to hear his voice and respond. In every prayer meeting time should be taken out to just listen to God.

  15. 46 And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the Lord to minister unto him. J.SOLIZ

  16. I’m here scratching my head trying to take everything in. Seeing and hearing the structions of Our Lord saying I want you to do this and that this way and that way so I think the whole chapter is about instrucciones and directions.

  17. 2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.

4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

  18. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

God is a God of details. Everything had a purpose and exactness to what it was created for. We have no reason to worry or fret because God takes care of every detail in our lives as well, if we allow Him to.

  19. 4 The man said to me, Son of Man, look with your eyes and hear with you ears and pay attention to everything and I’m going to show you, for that is why you have been brought here. Tell the house of Israel everything you say

  20. The numbers are important!

    They are exact and precise.
1in off and the whole thing would have been wrong.

And God knew some of us would sturggle with numbers thats why in vs 4: he states pay attention:

4 He said to me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.”

I’m thankful that even when we are placed in areas we struggle we know we are not alone. That through those times, His might is shown through.

Isaiah 40:29 “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”

  21. He said to me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.”
    Ezekiel 40:4 NLT
Sometimes GOD put us in place just to pass by and learn that place you in it’s not forever place just passing by

  22. 21-22 The purity of silver and gold is tested by putting them in the fire; The purity of human hearts is tested by giving them a little fame. Pound on a fool all you like—you can’t pound out foolishness.

The theory that the finest gold and silver has been through the fire to remove the impurities resulting in the purest of gold. Likely, we have all heard many sermons on the need and benefits of being proved by God. Where does the pounding come in? Raw materials need to be manipulated to transform into another shape the artist or owner prefers. I have been lucky enough to witness steel transformed into various items such as nails, springs, hinges and other decorative items.

We are raw materials with inherent impurities within us. These impurities keep us from reaching our full potential. When we were in school, the environment and study process helped form us and remove childhood tendencies. Even now as adults we have to be formed again and again. Just living life, creates areas where impurities can form. We won’t likely become serial killers but can become too familiar with the goodness of God and not fully appreciate His relationship with us. Thus we need the continual improvement.

  23. Ezekiel 40:4 (NLT)
He said unto me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.”

Ezekiel was told to watch, listen and pay attention, so that he could go back and tell the people of Israel everything he had seen.
Peter and John said in Acts 4:20, “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
We too must be watching, listening and paying close attention so that we can “GO” and tell the people of Fort Worth the things which we have seen and heard.
GO Share A Testimony of what JESUS is doing!

  24. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

God is interested in the details of the church, how it is built and how it is run. He has an order to everything he created and especially with regard to our lives. His word is the blueprint we follow to live for Him. In following His word, we find blessings, encouragement, correction and one day will receive the rest for our souls that we desire.

  25. A Plan For Successful Living

    Ezekiel 40:4 KJV

    1) See…the mighty hand of God at work. See the world from a Kingdom point-of-view. See yourself as a part of His plan. See all that He wants FOR you and all that He wants to reveal TO you.

    2) Hear…the voice of the Lord. Hear His instructions and guidance for daily living, His warnings of pitfalls to avoid, and His vision for your future. Set your ears in His voice in the morning, and your mouth on His praise all day.

    3) Set Your Heart…on Him. Fix your heart on complete obedience. Set your affections on things above. Be wholeheartedly consumed in His work, without wavering, without questioning, without double-mindedness. Steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.

    4) Declare all… Tell of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Tell of His righteous acts. Warn the people of their wicked ways, and witness of His amazing grace!

  26. “And the man said to me, “The room beside the north inner gate is for the priests who supervise the Temple maintenance. The room beside the south inner gate is for the priests in charge of the altar—the descendants of Zadok—for they alone of all the Levites may approach the Lord to minister to him.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:45-46‬ ‭
All these details for few people to be able to go in to.

  27. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

“He said to me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Every single detail matters in the Kingdom of God. Every single ministry matters in the Kingdom of God. We all have a purpose and a place, we must pay close attention to everything God shows us and speaks to us, in order for us to be where He has called us to be!

  28. How do we measure up?

As I was reading this chapter. My thoughts went to, how do I measure to God’s standards for me? We read here what the specification were for the temple, and yet now that we are His temple, do we know what is our specifications are for us? Have I answered the call from God in my life to the fullest? Have I given myself 100% to Him and His will? Do I live up to God’s standards for my life?
This is a question only the individual can answer, because everyone is different in the particulars. Yes, we know to repent, be baptized in Jesus Name, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. But as far as God’s will, My calling may be different the Pastor Watt’s, and different from Bishop Foster’s, but that doesn’t mean my calling is any less important, because those callings are their’s and my calling is for me. My specifications in my life are different. But that’s what makes this Gospel so great, because we are all different and joined fitly together. We become one body in Christ Jesus.
I had spoke with a youth in ISM about their calling. And their response made me so proud. They said to me,” Bro. Tim, I am praying about what God wants me to do.” As their leader and most important their friend, that comment made me so happy. Because I knew that they were sincere about it. They didn’t want to do something that wasn’t in God’s plan for their life.

For His Kingdom to be established we must be built to His Specifications.
    THY KINGDOM COME

  29. Ezekiel

37 And the posts thereof were toward the utter court; and palm trees were upon the posts thereof, on this side, and on that side: and the going up to it had eight steps.

God shows us how important detail is to Him. Right down to the type of trees
that was upon the post. When I think of a palm tree I think of the branches that fan out as if reaching out. I pray that where ever God chooses to place me that I will reach out for the Kingdom of God. Not a very deep theological statement today but I always want to be reaching for His Kingdom to do His will where He places me.

  30. In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the Lordwas upon me, and brought me thither.

5 And behold a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed of six cubits long by the cubit and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

6 Then came he unto the gate which looketh toward the east, and went up the stairs thereof, and measured the threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad; and the other threshold of the gate, which was one reed broad.

7 And every little chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reed.

8 He measured also the porch of the gate within, one reed.

9 Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

10 And the little chambers of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

Here is a vision, beginning at ch. 40, and continued to the end of the book, ch. 48, which is justly looked upon to be one of the most difficult portions in all the book of God. When we despair to be satisfied as to any difficulty we meet with, let us bless God that our salvation does not depend upon it, but that things necessary are plain enough; and let us wait till God shall reveal even this unto us. This chapter describes two outward courts of the temple. Whether the personage here mentioned was the Son of God, or a created angel, is not clear. But Christ is both our Altar and our Sacrifice, to whom we must look with faith in all approaches to God; and he is Salvation in the midst of the earth, Psalms 74:12, to be looked unto from all quarters.

  31. 2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

  32. He was holding in his hand a linen measuring cord and a measuring rod. He said to me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  33. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

This chapter is a good reminder that It is important to always be willing to do God’s work, to do what may seem miniscule in our eyes. No matter how pointless the task may seem, God knows what He is doing. Although, it may appear pointless to have chapters upon chapters in the bible that speak on begats and measures, they are there for a reason, God saw fit that it should be there. The writers may not have seen the point in writing some things that God had them write, yet they did so anyways, whether from faith or from obedience, I don’t know. But I need to always be willing to do what God tells me to do, no matter how small or how big a task may seem to me. Praise the Lord for He is an all-knowing and loving God!

  34. God has a blueprint for everyrhing. He has the master plan for our place of worship as a church body. First of all dominion must be measured out from the claimed territory. Their must be a foundation then their must be protection brought here by gates and built upon with careful detail. Such attention to detail is required by our God who ias without beginning nor end. Everything has instructions to it. It’s like learning an having instruction manual. It’s great for knowledge but if we never open the box, have the proper equipment for assembly the grill will never be cooked on, chairs never sat upon etc. We need to get to work and follow instructions because nothing is scarier than getting to the end of a project and realizing that their are pieces or screws left over, because you start to wonder did I not follow that step in the manual. Such steps are crucial to spending eternity with God.

  35. God holds the blueprint of our lives, he knows our inner most being and what needs to be molded for structure. First of all we need him because we arent anything without him for he is our foundation. When we come together in unity we make up the church body. Coming together is not always any easy thing following instructions takes discipline and attention to detail each step takes a measure of faith and even the smallest measure like a grain of a mustard seed can cast down mountains.

  36. The temple consisted of an outer court and inner court. The entire temple structure reveal a careful symmetry of design. Since there were gates, there must have been a wall around the inner court, even though it is not mentioned. Only priests were permitted to enter the inner court. The measurement of the inner court was 100 cubits square.

  37. He said to me, “Son of man, watch and listen. Pay close attention to everything I show you. You have been brought here so I can show you many things. Then you will return to the people of Israel and tell them everything you have seen.”
    Ezekiel 40:4 NLT

Before we speak we must first learn to watch and listen. We can not Learn about His Kingdom if we are always speaking. God gave us two ear and one tongue which means we must hear twice as much than we speak. God will only take us to different level if we listen.

  38. 2 In a vision from God he took me to the land of Israel and set me down on a very high mountain.

During my travels or on vacation. I’ve been on top of mountains. You look down and all around, and looks like a kingdom down below. It’s like if God has taken me to the top of the mountain, and you start to imagine and asking yourself “wow, what a kingdom God has created”! Let you imagination wonder about God’s kingdom.

  39. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
God was telling His prophet, pay close attention to everything I am about to show you because it is a great revelation. We should treat every revelation from God as a priceless treasure from Him so that we would never tread on His precious truth. This verse shows the Lord’s dual purpose for the revelation; first that the prophet would receive it into his heart and second, that he would then be able to accurately and fully declare it to God’s people!

  40. Jesus is specific and will make everything to a tee, and everything will be to an exact.I was made to an exact to what the Lord had planned to create. I understand I am who I am for a reason. Praise will ever be on my lips for Gods great glory.

  41. God has a way of doing things and it would benefit us to fall in line with what he has already put into place. Too many times people want to do things their way and end up messing up. When we do things God’s way, we come out victorious.

  42. Then the man measured the inner courtyard, and it was a square, 175 feet wide and 175 feet across. The altar stood in the courtyard in front of the Temple.
    Ezekiel 40:47 NLT

  43. Round about the altar.

This chapter goes into great detail of what the Lord showed Ezekiel of how His house was frunished. We notice that a lot of detail went into the description. There is a certain way that the house of God should be fashioned. North South East and West were all the same so no matter which way you came from you were going to see that same thing. This teaches that no matter what we come out of or how far away we were that Gods house is the same for all of us. When we make it to the altar God is the same,
He forgives, he fills, he heals and he saves round about the altar.

  44. “And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house. And the chamber whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the Lord to minister unto him.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:45-46

“Right where the inside gate complex opened onto the inside courtyard there were two rooms, one at the north gate facing south and the one at the south gate facing north. The man told me, “The room facing south is for the priests who are in charge of the Temple. And the room facing north is for the priests who are in charge of the altar. These priests are the sons of Zadok, the only sons of Levi permitted to come near to GOD to serve him.””
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭40:44-46‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Room for the Priests
The preists were placed by God in the temple to look after the temple and to care for those who ho were there. There are people who need the hope and truth spoken by gr priest to guide them when they are on the way to get closer to God.

Don’t skip corners and try to cut out the rooms from the preists in your lives.

  45. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

How many times we have missed what God said through prayer or preaching ? We are so busy praying about whatever we need and not taking time to allow God to speak to us. Help us to stay sensitive to you.

  46. 4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.

Really impacting verse from Pastor Watts!

We have to have the full experience of what God wants. It’s got to be not just a physical experience but a felt experience from God.

  47. 47 So he measured the court, an hundred cubits long, and an hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar that was before the house.

Can He be more specific. Planing, planning, planning! Never in my life have I been part of a church that planned 1 month in advance much less 3 months. It was something that made me say “Wow” because of the organization that takes place at POFW. It has taken me couple years to adjust because I grew up just going with the flow but NOW I have dreams, goals, and a vision to grow the Kingdom of God and it ain’t going to be by winging it but by prayer, fasting, organization, and planning! Thank You Lord for all you have taught me and the more to come! Just WOW!!!

  48. Exact measurements HE gave for the construction.
Our life, our walk with GOD IS EXACT we can’t give here and there, or we are all in or we are not at all….. GOD IS EXACT SO WHY DO WE MAKE OUR OWN PLANS???

  49. 2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, by which was as the frame of a city on the south.

In the visions… What do you see? What has God show you or directed you to? God does not intend for us to walk around aimless in life. That’s why without vision the people perish. We must spend time with Him that He may show us, direct our paths and order our steps. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
