Daniel 10

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

  1. 19. “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!”
As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.” NLT

When we realize how precious we are to God and that His power is available to us, we will stop fighting the spirit of fear and spend that energy fighting the enemy.

    2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. KJV

  2. Daniel 10:11-12
    11) And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
    12) Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God,, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

  3. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

21 Days Daniel fasted waiting on an answer. We must give up in the midst of waiting in God . He has heard our prayers . There are mighty angels fighting against the enemy and they will break forth and defeat the enemy. Keep the faith and know God has heard your prayers. He is faithful pushing back darkness and there will be a victory beyond hunan understanding. Keep the faith and do not doubt. God is an on time God. His timing not ours. There are great things getting ready to break forth! Just watch and see what God is doing. Dont get weary because His strength will sustain you . Stay in His will for the Kingdom!

  4. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

Set your heart and humble yourself to know that what’s to come is not of your doing. Lord, have your way mighty God!

  5. 17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

The joy of the Lord is our strength. This reminds me of the many dreams I’ve had where I was standing in the presence of something when all my strength was drained and I couldn’t stand. For a long time I used to believe that it meant there was a lack of spiritual strength and in same cases in can mean that but when we really on our God to supply every bit of strength we need, he will have the response of what this angel did with Daniel in giving strength and finding favor.

  6. THY KINGDOM COME
    SPIRITUAL WARFARE

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

Discouragement is a tool of the adversary of The Kingdom of GOD. That ole serpent satan sows thoughts in our mind that GOD does not hear us when we pray. However the WORD of GOD cleary states to us.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

We must speak a prayer to get understnding and pray for JESUS to hear us.

Do not be discouraged by the pause in the answer, just as with Daniel, we have adversaries that with resist our answer and temporarily withstand our answer. But, JESUS and His Kingdom will prevail.

Dont quit, don’t give up. Keep praying, keep believing.

  7. iLove the Kingdom

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

The key to God hearing and answering our prayer is found in the above verse…that we would come to God with a humble heart. 2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NLT

    (14) Then if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

    (15) My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

The reason alot of prayers go unanswered is hindrance. 1 Peter 3:7 NLT

    (7) In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.

  8. There are several times in scripture where we are given an insight into the spiritual domain that exists around us. This one is of course familiar as what has become known as a Daniel’s fast is often undertaken when a prolonged period of fasting is desired even today. The angel spoke to: ‘Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand…’ We know that God is capable of anything and none can withstand him, but just as he chooses to use us, he allows the ministering angels to go forth and accomplish his will. This angel was sent forth to give Daniel understanding but had to overcome the spiritual forces of darkness that did not want that revelation to come. Daniel’s fast made a difference not only for his own understanding… he made a difference in the spiritual realm about him! His willingness to abstain and come closer to God and his will and persist until that revelation came made a difference that we still profit from today!

Notice that Daniel wasn’t the end all of the situation either. The angels still had other tasks to perform. ‘Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come. But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth’. He was going back to the very same place from which he came… think about that! The spiritual battle wasn’t yet complete, yet he came in response to Daniel and spoke to him words of understanding. He even assured him that another angel was on the way as would arrive after he was gone, so more was still forthcoming! He was returning to Persia where he was needed of Michael, but he knew the angel in Grecia would be freed up to respond to his future needs from God.

When we consider the great spiritual struggles going on around us every day, we need to join together in strength to make a difference. Our prayers make a difference! Our fasts make a difference! Our lifestyle and works make a difference. Let us join together with the host of ministering angels serving God every day and declare that we too desire to make a difference in the world today!

  9. 18 Then again, the one having the likeness of a man, touched me and strengthened me. And he said, O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you, be strong yes be strong!

  10. And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my Lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
    Daniel 10:19 KJV

The answer to all my weaknesses is an audience with the King! He gives me grace sufficient for the hour that I’m in. Whether I am hindered by fear, a lack of understanding, or a lack of physical strength, one godly visitation can supply my need. I must just be consistent in coming to Him until His grace reaches me.

Are they [the angels] not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
    Hebrews 1:‬14 KJV

  11. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

This scripture Is important to anyone who has ever prayed about something and hoped and wondered if God heard them. The truth is God hears every one of our prayers and bottles our tears. There is not a time that he does not hear us or desire to answer us.

  12. 1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

There is an appointed time for everything God does. To everything there is a season, a time. The things that God had revealed to Daniel was for warnings of things to come, was for direction for those that were involved or was for Daniel to know and be prepared for when they happen.

When God shares something with us, we have to evaluate what is the purpose? Are we to warn someone? Is it for direction or is to just for me pray and intercede about?

Too many times we share things that God only intended for us to know and it ends up and does more damage than it was intended to, and it allows God to see that we may not be ready for Him to share things with us.

Our relationship with God should be sacred and protected. When He reveals something to us, keep those things sacred until He directs what to do with the information we have been given.

  13. “Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer.”
    ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes in our process of life, it’s easy to get caught up in the things that aren’t going our way, the things that we feel are unfair, and even times when we feel that the Lord doesn’t even hear our prayer.

But there is scripture after scripture that proclaims that He hears our prayers. he hears our crys. When we humble ourselves and understand that even when we don’t feel that He hears us, He does. He will work in His time which in reality will prove to be the best outcome!

Pray. Be Humble. Understand. Have Faith.

  14. 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

Thank you God for hearing me! God I humble myself to you and open to your understanding that you will have your way in my life! God I thank you for hearing my words when I call upon your name and I pray daily that I will humble myself and understand that it’s not on my time but yours God!

  15. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

Set your heart on God, seek understanding, and humble yourself. When we are always about self and don’t seek to understand and humble ourself before God, it will began to feel like He does not hear us, when the truth is what we want is not what we need. When we seek understanding, we get the answer we need. God always hears us!

  16.  7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

    Am I willing?

It is easy for us to say I want a walk with God like Daniel. But are we willing to do the time and go t hrough what he went through? The deeper we want to go in God, the more that is required of us. Spiritually and physically. For us to continue to grow in God, we must push ourselves ever further. Are we willing to sacrifice things that we love, and people that we love in order to walk closer with Him?
Let His Kingdom Come by us going deeper than before.

  17. In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

    4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;

5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

This chapter relates the beginning of Daniel’s last vision, which is continued to the end of the book. The time would be long before all would be accomplished; and much of it is not yet fulfilled. Christ appeared to Daniel in a glorious form, and it should engage us to think highly and honourably of him. Let us admire his condescension for us and our salvation. There remained no strength in Daniel. The greatest and best of men cannot bear the full discoveries of the Divine glory; for no man can see it, and live; but glorified saints see Christ as he is, and can bear the sight. How dreadful soever Christ may appear to those under convictions of sin, there is enough in his word to quiet their spirits.

  18. 11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent.

God answers prayers! Even if it takes longer than we would like sometimes, it doesn’t mean that there isn’t a spiritual battle being fought for your prayers.

  19. This chapter is one of the most important in scripture for angelolgy and suggests that an invisible war is constantly fought in the spiritual world which has great impact on the course of nations and the experience of individuals.

  20. 19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

…When He had spoken to me, I was strengthened… God’s Word is powerful and gives us strength to do His work. When His Word becomes apart of us, it becomes second nature or a conviction that cannot be shaken. Things like going to church, paying tithes & offerings, devotional times are not chores but are our life and there is no question about doing it or not!

  21. 11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent.

  22. Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou first set thine heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

Acts 10:4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

God has more for us to know, more for us to see and understand, and as such,we have to change our position.
More praying and fasting. We need to be strengthened and raised.

  23. Josiah: 3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Fasting. It seems like many men of God and people who know God agree that to get closer to God prayer and fasting is key. Yes, we need to read our Bible and study so we know what to teach people. However prayer helps us get a relationship with God and fasting helps us put our spirit before our flesh. Before Daniel saw this vision he first fasted. So, let us GO PRAY and GO FAST so we can get closer to God!

  24. 19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.

Wow.. this chapter is very deep with more than a human mind can really understand. The thing that kept coming to mind was a different level of prayer. One in which you have to call for backup; one which gets a hold of God’s angels. A battle in the heavens for a word, a direction, an understanding of the deep things of God. It’s God’s will that are seek to know the Kingdom’s affairs, yet the enemy will oppse. In the end we will win. Greater is He that is in us.

  25. Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my Lord, for you have strengthened me.”
    Daniel 10:18‭-‬19 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/dan.10.18-19.NLT

Everytime we feel down, lonely, hurt, depressed, sick or week. We can always rely on God’s Word to give us strength and make us whole again because we are precious to Him.

  26. 12 Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.

    Don’t stop praying

Its crazy how fast we give up praying for something or someone when we don’t see results. We feel as if God doesn’t hear us or that we might not have asked with enough faith.

I’ve felt this way many times before. Reality hits me when, later on, when i didn’t even expect it, i realize that the prayer i had prayed for was answered, that I could see why it took so long. I believe we need to ask God at times to open our spiritual eyes to see the real fight taking place.

That the host of God are actively fighting to protect us and defend us, only God knows what we would really be going through had it not been for his angels fighting for us.

  27. The Vision Daniel receives in this Chapter presents him with a deeper challenge that any in his past. He now learns he is engaged in spiritual warfare. In his dialogue with an angel, Daniel learns some important leaassons every person ought to master.
-Spiritual leaders lead not only God’s family, but also God’s army.
-Prayer ignites spiritual warfare invisible to us,.
-both spiritual kingdoms seem to have princes
    -Spiritual warfare can delay victories
    – understanding warfare enables us to cooperate with God’s purposes
As we seek to lead in a more strategic way recognize that we will encounter struggles beyond mere human opposition. We must wisely face an invisible, spiritual world around you. You need both prayer and persistence.

  28. “And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.”
    ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭10:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is a little like the hush that comes over a roaring room hat is filled with prayer when it is time for tongues and interpretation of tongues. Everyone hides their face (prays) until one person receives the word.

  29. Verses 18-19 MSG “Then this humanlike figure touched me again and gave me strength. He said, ‘Don’t be afraid, friend. Peace. Everything is going to be all right. Take courage. Be strong.’ “Even as he spoke, courage surged up within me. I said, ‘Go ahead, let my master speak. You’ve given me courage.’ Psalm 31:24 AMP says “Be strong and let your hearts take courage, All you who wait for and confidently expect the Lord.”

  30. Forgive me I read this yesterday and never blogged my thoughts.
I always think to John the revelator when I read this chapter because they share a similar vision of the Lord and it gives me chills every time.

18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me

All you need is a touch from Jesus
It’s pretty easy to tel when we get a touch from God we either lose it in the Spirit or we really take it in and just thank and appreciate God for everything He van and will do for us.
I know this is yesterday’s blog but today is Sunday and I believe that every first time guest will experience something today like they never have before. They’ll experience that touch from God that is rumors to them right now. Soon those rumors will become true and their lives will be changed.

iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
    Let’s have some church

  31. 19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.

  32. 19“Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!

We all are precious to God, for he loves us all. We all have strength, we just need the courage to stand up to the enemy. Once we know God, your courage will be there when the enemy comes.

  33. 14 Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.

It’s a dangerous thing to know the voice of God and not obey it. Rebelling against God has brought along his wrath as well. It’s important to follow God as he commands and not to stray away because you can be devoured by the traps of the enemy or destroyed by the hand of God, both bring death. However the faithful will hear “Well done” good and faithful servant. Even when the storms of life toss us about, just hold on to the anchor of our souls.

2 Peter 2:21 “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.”

  34. 12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

When your prayer doesn’t seem to be answered, you might need to humble yourself with prayer AND fasting to hear from heaven.

  35. “Don’t be frightened! God thinks highly of you, and he intends this for your good, so be brave and strong.” At this, I regained my strength and replied, “Please speak! You have already made me feel much better.”(Daniel 10:19 CEV)

In this verse God is explaining to Daniel that he doesn’t need to be frightened about anything. We should know that God is in control and has all power to protect his children. God himself thinks highly of his children he wants us to be brave and strong in faith so that we believe that he will bring us out of anything. We know that we can come to God when we are weak because he gives us strength and is our resoration.
