Hosea 1

The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.

And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

  1. I will Lord.
I was reading in Joshua chapter 7, and I learned I’m going to get rid of some ungodly things which God calls them accursed . In this chapter is saying that God will help the ones who are called by His name. Those people who are called whoremongers God will make way for them to be saved too. He may have to get thier attention somehow,. But he can or won’t it’s up to him we can change to be a better people also.
I choose Jesus for my God..and what he says I’m doing what I have learned in. Burch and God’s Word I’m going to try my hardest to obey him.

  2. Verses 10-11 MSG “But down the road the population of Israel is going to explode past counting, like sand on the ocean beaches. In the very place where they were once named Nobody, they will be named God’s Somebody. Everybody in Judah and everybody in Israel will be assembled as one people. They’ll choose a single leader. There’ll be no stopping them—a great day in Jezreel!” “Everybody” is a “Somebody” to God and we must keep reaching to let them know that there is room in the house of God for “Everybody”!

  3. 11 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together and appoint for themselves one head and they shall come up out of the land for great will be the day of Jezreel.

  4. 2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

The Lord sent Hosea to do something he has never asked another child of God. To intermarry not only with a heathen, but a whore and adulterer. He sends one of his children through this painful trial to show the agonizing pain He goes thru when his child serve other gods. This demonstrates the feeling God gets when for his children when they stray but it also demonstrates the trust he had in Hosea. I can’t think of any man on Earth, past or present, that would go through that volunteerily in obedience.

  5. Hosea1:7 (English Amp) But I will have love, pity, and mercy on the house of Judah and will deliver them by the Lord their God and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by equipment of war, nor by horses, nor by horseman. [Isa.31:8] Then the Assyrian shall fall by sword not of man; and a sword, not of men [ but of God] , shall devour him. And shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be subjected to force labor. God’s love for backsliding Israel is the them of the message of Hosea. This is related to the prophet’s matrimonial experience.

  6. 10. “Yet the time will come when Israel’s people will be like the sands of the seashore-too many to count! Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ it will be said, ‘You are children of the living God.’ NLT

The time comes in each of our lives where we have to make the decision – are we going to be called ‘not His people’ or ‘children of the living God’?

    Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. KJV

  7. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

By Your Spirit God! Draw your children back to You!

  8. But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their
enemies – not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers,
but by my power as the Lord their God.”
    Hosea 1:7 NLT

The victory is in Our Praise!!
Thank you Jesus for the revelation of the power that lays in my praise to you Lord (Jesus)

  9. 4 And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

Call his name Jezreel or (God sows)
This one here took some thinking💭 🤔 but I believe the Lord is showing me a thing or two that might lead to a great revelation soon.
I’ve never read Hosea but I’ve heard the name Jezreel brought up a time or two so when I seen this at the beginning of this Book in the Bible (Hosea) I knew this guy was gonna be important so I asked the Lord and started doing some surfing 🏄 .

I’m going somewhere with this bare with me!

When you type Jezreel in your search bar something like Jezreel Valley is gonna pop up so then that tells me he was important cause they named a place after this cat. So I look up the meaning of his name and I see it says God Soweth.
Now what we committed ourselves to be GOD SOWETH people or GOD SOWING people.
Could you imagine if we all took a grip of some God Seed and started spreading it across some fertile ground out there. But here’s the kick how are you gonna know it’s fertile if you don’t toss the seed.
We’re apart of a church that is consistently GROWING and it’s well known that were growing and that’s because we have people here that are willing to WORK for the Harvest and those that are willing to TILL the garden to TOSS OR SOW

Sow is a word that refers to the act of spreading seeds in a field. Sowing is done in the hope of reaping a crop later on.

Let’s continue to be a GOD sowing Church.
Be a Witness to someone who needs the word today!
iBless you in the name of the Lord

  10. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM OBEDIENCE

2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.
3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son.

This is NOT the ideal place to go wife shopping. Statistics reveal that over 50% of marriages end in divorce and that over 75% of marriages that began with fornication or cohabitation ended in divorce. A wife of whoredoms for the prophet Hosea seems to be a tough task from the LORD.

However, KINGDOM OBEDIENCE is imperative to ADVANCE HIS KINGDOM. Hosea chose Gomer as his wife.

    Gomer – complete
    Diblaim – 2 cakes

Hosea chose Gomer, I believe because of her name. Obviously there was not alot to hope in a marriage of such nature, however, Hosea could respond to the LORD that his mission was complete with Gomer. I believe the name of her father Diblaim would scare me off a lil. “2 Cakes” would seem to suggest instability.

However, we learn from Hosea that KINGDOM OBEDIENCE challenges us to make the best of every situation.

  11. iLove the Kingdom
11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

The word “Jezreel” is constructed of two Hebrew words meaning “to sow” and “mighty” or “Almighty” and in combination the meaning is “God will sow.” The city of Jezreel was situated in a beautiful valley, near Esdraelon, an area between Mount Carmel and the sea to the Jordan river. Jezreel is also called the Great Plain and the Valley of Esdraelon. The city of Nazareth, Jesus’ home town, was on the northern side of Jezreel.

Basically we could say that God sowed the seed of His Word through the prophet. When God told him to do something, he did it. I mean really, who would want to marry a prostitute? Not many would, but God spoke the Word and Hosea was obedient.

Isa 55:9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Isa 55:10 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.
Isa 55:11 It is the same with My word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

We all have the opportunity to allow the Word to come alive in our lives and become a fruitful field of Jezreel.

  12. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

We were created to praise! Here we see that God had mercy on Judah (Praisers). As they continue to be who He called them to be God said He would deliver them and it would not be with their own power but He would do it. Yet, they still had to appoint a leader that would aid God in leading them out of the land.

God has given us great leaders here at POFW. It’s time for us to be ready to praise and be lead out of old thinking and ways to a place of allowing God to use us to see the Miraculous.

There is a old song that says:
    I’m Looking for a miracle
    I expect the impossible
    I feel the intangible &
    I see the invisible

    The Sky is the limit
    To what I can have

    Just believe and receive it
    God will perform it today
    Hey, Hey, ay
    Just believe and receive it
    God will perform it today

This is how I feel! I am looking for a miracle, not just for me for every person that walks into my life and into the house of God.

  13. Then the people of Judah and the people of Israel will be gathered together. They will appoint for themselves one leader, and will flourish in the land. Certainly, the day of Jezreel will be great!
    Hosea 1:11 NET

Let’s all get together in Unity we got the leader let’s possess the land, and we’ll see God do wonderful things in Fort Worth. We all been call from difference cities states and Nations to Fort Worth for a reason.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  14. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

These 2 passages remind me of the end of our lesson in Sunday school last week, that according to Jeremiah 29:11-13, God has an expected end for us. If He prophecies it, it will come to pass. But we have to align ourselves with Him to receive it. Here the children of Israel are coming back to their God and this will be a great day for them.

  15. “But I will have mercy on the house of Judah and will rescue them by the LORD their God, and will not rescue them by bow, sword, war, horses, or horsemen.””
    ‭‭HOSEA‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Judah was shown mercy by God. He gave His Word that He was rescue them by His power. All the glory would be to God not the power of man.

  16. Hosea 1:2
“The LORD said to Hosea, ‘Go, take to yourself a wife of whoredom and have children of whoredom.’” Hosea obeyed, marrying a woman named , who was unfaithful to him. Why did God tell Hosea to marry a prostitute?

God wanted to provide an illustration of His relationship with the people of Israel, who had been unfaithful to Him by practicing idolatry.
We must be cautious that we do not commit spiritual idolatry and adultery.

We can become mesmerized by the world. Not just worldly pleasures but even when we are seeking for spiritual direction.
You must stay in the Word. Hold the truth to your heart . Keep Biblical principals even if someone thinks they are no longer necessary. Listen to the admonition given from our pastor. Stay close to your First Love. Isreal lost their way because they sought for other pleasures. Read the Love Letters God has given us. Communicate with Him daily . Guard your heart through daily time alone with Him. Delight in His presence. Listen for His voice and the things of this world will grow dimmer and dimmer. Walk with His Hand in your Hand. He never lets go.

  17. 7 But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”

It’s not always about whos the strongest, who can lift the most or whos the toughest. Sometimes it only depends on who can kneel and pray. When you feel attacked on all sides, don’t jump to fight, kneel and pray.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

Allow His grace and strength be made perfect through our weakness.

  18. But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”
    Hosea 1:7 NLT
It because of you love and mercy that I am standing here now no weapons formed against us can Stand against the love of JESUS it not by our might but by you power and spirit that we overcome

  19. 2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

Trust here between the Lord and Hosea is definitely exhibited. How Hosea must have felt when he was instructed to take a wife whose life shouted whoredom and worldliness. I’m sure in his mind he was trying to figure out how to ask God “what are you thinking??” Yet, because he knew that God does all things well, and he knew the voice of the Lord with certainty he knew it was all part of the plan. God instilled in him what he would need for the future months and hears to come when his wife would turn again to whoredom ways, yet he forgave, and loved as Christ loved the church.

My prayer is that we would be baptized with the same love and compassion for the lost. Many start, lose their way, fall back into sin, start again. I never want to say “there they are again”, or “how long will it last this time.” This time might be the time that it last until eternity.

God has a great harvest for POFW in these next weeks and months to come. Let’s allow God to love everyone through us, regardless of their past or present state of being. I want to exhibit the love like revealed through Hosea to his not so perfect wife.

  20. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

What will be said of us? When God looks at us will He say we are not of Him, or will He claim us as His? Go in truth and righteous and we will be called His!

  21. 8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

  22. When the Lord first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, “Go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will be conceived in prostitution. This will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the Lord and worshiping other gods.”
And the Lord said, “Name the child Jezreel, for I AM ABOUT TO PUNISH King Jehu’s dynasty to avenge the murders he committed at Jezreel. In fact, I will bring AN END TO Israel’s INDEPENDENCE.
Soon Gomer became pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to Hosea, “Name your daughter Lo-ruhamah—‘NOT LOVED’—for I will no longer show love to the people of Israel or forgive them.
And the Lord said, “Name him Lo-ammi—‘NOT MY PEOPLE’ Israel is not my people, and I am not their God.
    Hosea 1:2‭, ‬4‭-‬4‭, ‬6‭, ‬9 NLT

The results of unfaithfulness, whether toward God or a spouse, are typified in this chapter.

JEZREEL: A SOWING OF PUNISHMENT. You always reap what you sow. You never escape the consequences of sin. God may forgive and eventually restore you, but the consequences of unfaithfulness endure in the lives of all those who were wounded.

JEZREEL: AN END TO INDEPENDENCE. Sin brings bondage, both to the sinner and to those whose lives become damaged by that sin.

LO-RUHAMAH: NOT LOVED. No child should ever be named ‘not loved,’ but this is exactly the self-imposed label children wear when their parents get caught up in adultery. Unfaithfulness is the product of selfishness; it brings about a total lack of concern for the lives and feelings of others. The families of the unfaithful wear the shame and disgrace of knowing that, when weighed against the desire of the unfaithful parent for self-gratification, they matter little or not at all.

LO-AMMI: NOT MY PEOPLE. This is God’s decree of divorcement. Unfaithfulness brings separation, a disowning that ought not to be. Relationships are shattered. Homes are broken. Parents destroy the faith and confidence of children. Children disown parents. Generations of damage and destruction typically follow. Studies confirm that children of divorcees are more likely to live in poverty and to become addicts, juvenile delinquents, promiscuous, suicidal, and divorcees themselves. Moreover, they tend to have a shortened lifespan because of the fore-mentioned consequences.

Thankfully, GOD eventually restored the children of Judah; but those generations in the middle, caught between the unfaithfulness and the promise, suffered great emotional damage, physical hurt, and material devastation.

Unfaithfulness is never worth the cost.

  23. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

  24. But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”
    Hosea 1:7 NLT

In all of life circumstances with its troubles and joy let always let a praise be in you. Send Up Judah be a praiser for the Lord delights in them that praise Him and delivers them.

  25. all because of the blood of Jesus Christ, his love, his Mercy, his grace, his hand reaching out to me a sinner now I am Washed by the blood of the Lamb! And I thank God today because he has called me out of darkness and into his light. My life is no longer the same!
I give GOD all the glory and honor. With that same mercy and grace we are called to do the same.
    A.L.M.A.S

  26. Hosea 1:10 (NLT)
“Yet the time will come when Israel’s people will be like the sands of the seashore – to many to count! Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ it will be said, ‘You are children of the living God.'”

    Romans 9:23-26 (NLT)
    23) He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.
    24) And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.
    25) Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea, Those who were not my people, I will now call my people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.
    26) And, Then, at the place where they were told, You are not my people, there they will be called children of the living God.

Because of HIS MERCY and HIS LOVE, I can now say, “I’m A Child of the Living God!”

  27. But I will show love to the people of Judah. I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”
    Hosea 1:7 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/hos.1.7.NLT

Every time we use praise in in our circumstances and situations we will see Gods love. We will have the victory and be delivered from our enemies. God will always show up when there is praise.

  28. The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

Whenever we backslide it is not only a rebellion against God but it is committing adultery against God. Whatever draws us away from God becomes our idol thus causing idolatry and leads us into a state of whoring after other gods. We are called the Bride of Christ…..let us remain a chaste bride and be faithful to our Bridegroom.

  29. Hosea 1:1- 3:5 I read ahead, could stop from reading the story.

It can be painful to read the story of Hosea. Out of obedience to God , the prophet marries the prostitute Gomet, who refuses to change her ways for her husband or for their children. Still Hosea tries to bring her back, to redeem her from the sordid life to which she so stubbornly clings.
From the human perspective, it is easy to wonder why Hosea continues to punish himself this way. Why would a man subject himself to the kind of heartache he must have felt in trying to make a faithful wife out of a prostitute? Why wouldn’t he just “ cut his losses” and rid himself of this wicked woman?
The quick aswer for me is this…
that Hosea’s life did not belong to him alone. Like us, he had given his heart and soul to God. In Paul’s words, “You are not your own…. you were bought at a price” 1Corinthians 6:19-20. Hosea realized that God had called him to become a living metaphor of the love of God for his people, and he obeyed, regardless of the personal cost.
Hosea illustrates the heartache that may come from following the call of God. As Leaders , we continue to pay for and minister to those who have strayed from the Lord, even when it hurts, knowing that God Did the same for us.

  30. 2When the LORD first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, “Go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will be conceived in prostitution. This will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the LORD and worshiping other gods.”

I don’t know if any man that would marry a prostitute. A man with no morals or God in their life. But this shows the obedience Hosea had and the trust he had in God. Yes, there are differing opinions on this verse, but bottom line is you see obedience in Hosea.

  31. ““Yet the time will come when Israel’s people will be like the sands of the seashore—too many to count! Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ it will be said, ‘You are children of the living God.’ Then the people of Judah and Israel will unite together. They will choose one leader for themselves, and they will return from exile together. What a day that will be—the day of Jezreel —when God will again plant his people in his land.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭1:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  32. Hoses 1:11 Then shall the Children of Judah and the Children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land:for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

As God’s promise We will come back home as One,and Unite together.

  33. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

  34. 1 The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

2 The beginning of the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord.

  35. Josiah: 6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
The Bible tells us that we reap what we sow. God was judging Israel because of what they did. If we are constantly doing evil, sowing evil, then God will judge us for it. However if we are sowing love, compassion, witnessing and sowing what God wants us to sow then we will reap good and be judged accordingly. So, let us GO LABOR in the Kingdom of God and sow good things.

  36. Following to the plan of God will not always be easy. You will go through some tough times. That doesn’t mean for you to give up. The more we endure, the stronger God makes us. He that endures to the end shall be saved.

  37. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

  38. The word of the Lord that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

4 And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.

5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.

6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.

7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.

9 Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

Israel was prosperous, yet then Hosea boldly tells them of their sins, and foretells their destruction. Men are not to be flattered in sinful ways because they prosper in the world; nor will it last long if they go on still in their trespasses. The prophet must show Israel their sin; show it to be exceedingly hateful. Their idolatry is the sin they are here charged with. Giving that glory to any creature which is due to God alone, is an injury and affront to God; such as for a wife to take a stranger, is to her husband. The Lord, doubtless, had good reasons for giving such a command to the prophet; it would form an affecting picture of the Lord’s unmerited goodness and unwearied patience, and of the perverseness and ingratitude of Israel. We should be broken and wearied with half that perverseness from others, with which we try the patience and grieve the Spirit of our God. Let us also be ready to bear any cross the Lord appoints. The prophet must show the ruin of the people, in the names given to his children. He foretells the fall of the royal family in the name of his first child: call his name Jezreel, which signifies “dispersion.” He foretells God’s abandoning the nation in the name of the second child; Lo-ruhamah, “not beloved,” or “not having obtained mercy.” God showed great mercy, but Israel abused his favours. Sin turns away the mercy of God, even from Israel, his own professing people. If pardoning mercy is denied, no other mercy can be expected. Though some, through unbelief, are broken off, yet God will have a church in this world till the end of time. Our salvation is owing to God’s mercy, not to any merit of our own. That salvation is sure, of which he is the Author; and if he will work, none shall hinder.

  39. v2 The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go ,take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

Obedience and trust in JESUS WORD. HIS words are a surety for present times and future crises.
JESUS will never leave us unprepared to cope with life’s situations, but HE has given us HIS WORD.
    TRUST AND OBEY.
    THY KINGDOM COME!

  40. “Now when she had weaned Lo–ruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. Then said God, Call his name Lo–ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭1:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“After Gomer had weaned No-Mercy, she got pregnant yet again and had a son. GOD said: “Name him Nobody. You’ve become nobodies to me, and I, GOD, am a nobody to you.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭1:8-9‬ ‭MSG‬‬

These children had names such as Nobody and No-Mercy. Names mean more than we give them. Could you imagine your parent calling, “Nobody, you get over here right now!” Seems like. A silly thing to say, but that was her son’s name.

  41. Then the people of Judah and the people of Israel will be gathered together. They will appoint for themselves one leader, and will flourish in the land. Certainly, the day of Jezreel will be great!
    Hosea 1:11 NET

When the people of God get together and unify great things can and will happen. Just like the tower of babel there was nothing that could stop a unified front from obtaining victory so the same principal exist today. If we make our best effort and do all we can and give everything we have to being unified God will bless us and help us every step of the way.

  42. Never lose hope

0 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

Just when it looked like All was lost, Jezreel will bring the two nations back together. Bro Jack did some study on Jezreel, sowing seed. The name is important. Churches are divided all the time because they lose focus on what’s important, winning the lost. In this scripture we find that in Jezreel’s day the divided nation will come back together. This means if the church would focus its attention back in sowing seed, it would be while again. All is not lost unless there is no seed to be sown. Our focus on souls will bring great revival. Some people don’t even know what revival really means. It means the the church gets back into position of where it is suppose to be, it is a realigning with God. When we focus on the harvest we will revive.

  43. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

  44. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

In the midst of the calamity, the praiser found grace. You have no idea what kind of mess you can get out of by just being a praiser at heart. You can literally praise your way out of judgement.

What is it about a praiser, that he can find grace? Praise is spiritual warfare. Someone that can praise no matter what is going on, no matter how the enemy may be coming against him or her, they might not know how to get free, but they know how to praise, and have an understanding that praise gets Gods attention.

Praise is an invitation for God to show up.

  45. When the Lord began to speak through Hosea, the Lord said to him, “Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord.”

This world is filled with unfaithfulness, not only to the Lord but to the spouse. Adultery and fornication is something that is seen everywhere. The world is full of sin that are it’s looking for more and more pleasure. Jesus help us not be full of unfaithfulness but truly be faithful in all your ways, faithful in your Word, in reaching this lost world, and faithful in loving one another.

  46. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.

Call it what you will: sovereignty, power, omnipotent, ordained, self-sufficient or eternal. Whatever words we want to use to describe it, the clear reality is that God doesn’t need anything, including our help. Most of the time, we mess things up when we take things into our own hands. Additionally, if we are asked to do something, and we do not complete as requested, we mess things up.

God doesn’t ask for our help in the sense that he needs us to do something that he can’t do without us. He “asks for our help” in the sense that he has invited us to participate in his plan and will allow important tasks to go unfinished if we do not do the jobs he has asked us to do. God certainly doesn’t need our help, but he does ask for it because he loves us.

  47. At first it seems harsh that God would ask all of this from Hosea. Each event like marrying a women dedicated to wholesome and having children by her, has a purpose. It all depicts how God picked us out to be his people even when we were yet in sin, he died for our sins. He knew that Israel would turn their backs on Him and serve other gods. He will not stand by silently as they rebel. This time he has laid out his plan in the names of Hosea’s children bore from this ungodly women. God has a plan and knew us while we were yet in our mothers womb. The devastation Hosea must feel as his wife leaves him to seek our fleshy desires must be tragic. However it cannot parallel the turning away of a people, nation or entire world influenced to live unrighteously. This is the wake up call God’s people needs to hear, we need to reach them.
