Hosea 2

Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.

Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.

For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.

And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

10 And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.

11 I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

12 And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the Lord.

14 Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.

15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

16 And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.

17 For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.

18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

22 And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.

23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

  1. What is in a name? Verse 1 MSG says ““Rename your brothers ‘God’s Somebody.’ Rename your sisters ‘All Mercy.’” Verses 21-23 MSG say “On the very same day, I’ll answer”—this is God’s Message—“I’ll answer the sky, sky will answer earth, Earth will answer grain and wine and olive oil, and they’ll all answer Jezreel. I’ll plant her in the good earth. I’ll have mercy on No-Mercy. I’ll say to Nobody, ‘You’re my dear Somebody,’ and he’ll say ‘You’re my God!’ To know the name of the One, who will help and restore His people. Let us GO and share the name above all names….Jesus.

  2. 2:14 there fore behold, I will allure her and bring her into the wilderness and speak comfortably to her..
    ————-
The truth is that we desire to hear more of the Lord, we seek the Lord more with a different feeling, desire, passion, motive… when we are in a season of wilderness when we stepped into the dessert…. It ‘ll Be GOd bringing his people to the wilderness, yes! That’s one of his ways to act, one of his ways in him he will take action.

  3. 15. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. NLT

Only God can transform your Valley of Trouble into a Gateway of Hope, but He will only do it when you give yourself to Him.

  4. 20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.
    21 And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;

Our God mercy extends to every part that can reach us. I believe that anything that can reach someone, will reach them and if nothing can reach them, every attempt will be made but there isn’t anything that can. If something can keep someone from heaven, it will keep them bc attempts are made from both sides for every soul. Our job as the body of Christ are to be those hands that make those attempts at reaching every person that can be.

  5. Hosea 2:6 (English Amp) Therefore, Behold, I [ the Lord GOD] will hedge up her way [even yours, O Israel] with thorns; and I will build a wall against her that she shall not find her paths. God punishment is the sinfulness of the nation Israel.

  6. Hosea 2:13
And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the Lord.

    Remember your first Love

    Revelation 2:4&5
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

God gives opportunity to repent. Don’t wait to late.

  7. 8 She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has—the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal. (NLT)

How many days go by that we take things for granted; we just expect things to be there, ready and available at our fingertips. Don’t forget how blessed you really are and remember to always be grateful unto the Lord, glorify Him for His goodness. Like a continuous circle, God blesses so we can bless Him in return, He will always see that His blessings are multiplied if you are faithful!

  8. When God is broken hearted…

I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord .
    Hosea 2:20 NLT
I love that even in God’s brokenness because of His bride He still won’t give up on her. It truly is the ultimate love story, even before He was robed in flesh He had an unfailing love. He divorced Israel for her adultery and scandalous ways, and the promises to embrace her when she steps away from infidelity. He will never stop loving His people. He waits with open arms.

  9. She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she
has – the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold.
But she gave all my gifts to baal.
    Hosea 2:8 NLT

The Lord has place in as talents and gifts for the purpose of his kingdom. let’s make sure we use them for the kingdom of God and not for the devil.

  10. *read following context carefully*

8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
9 Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.

Israel and the wrath of God!
No one preaches on Gods wrath we can see above that every blessing he blessed his people with was taken away after they used it to please the world and to burn incense to false Gods.
Our God is a jealous God!
When our friends or family that are saved start to follow the world we might see it fit to be frustrated or yell or tell them everything they’re doing wrong. God is punishing Israel but he’s not shunning them he’s nipping the situation in the bud. That’s how situations are handled it’s not a constant verbal beat down it’s a slap on the tush that keeps Hope in the relationship.
Now let’s get back on track and refocus. That’s the kind of attitude we need.

iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  11. iLove the Kingdom
Boom!!! Like lightning the Word struck me this morning. First, I challenge all to read this chapter in the NLT for it brings added depth to the chapter. Check out these verses:
Hos 2:16 When that day comes,” says the LORD, “you will call Me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’

Wow, think about it. What kind of relationship does a Master and Slave exhibit? The slave “HAS” to do this and “HAS” to do that. To the slave, he considers himself in bondage and is always looking for a way of escape.

This is the same with folks in the church today who are always saying, “Why do we “HAVE” to go to church all the time? Why do we “Have” to dress a certain way? Why do we “HAVE” to tithe and why do we “HAVE” to sacrifice?

This is the Slave/Master relationship with God. God’s will is for his people to have a relationship with Him. God looks forward to the day we turn to him in the spirit of this verse, Hos 2:16 When that day comes,” says the LORD, “you will call Me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’

    Boom!!!

  12. I Love To Worship The Lord
    vs-8
    This is a touching scripture
God keeps on supplying us with good things even when we do not acknowledge Him. Even when we use his good gifts to finance our wickedness. How amazing Gods grace and patience

  13. 8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

His Mercy will and do it forever it’s unfailing love is forever never forget what GOD done for never forget what he brought you out

  14. “I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. When that day comes,” says the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  15. I will commit myself to you forever; I will commit myself to you in righteousness and justice, in steadfast love and tender compassion. I will commit myself to you in faithfulness; then you will acknowledge the Lord .”
    Hosea 2:19‭-‬20 NET

What a merciful God we serve wow after all our mess and ugliness he’s willing to come for us so we can be his people. Wow!!

  16. Hosea 2:23
“And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.”

    1 Peter 2:9-10
    9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
    10) Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Thank You JESUS that you called us out of darkness and into Your Marvellous Light.
We are Your People and YOU are Our God!!

  17. “Then the earth will answer the thirsty cries of the grain, the grapevines, and the olive trees. And they in turn will answer, ‘Jezreel’—‘God plants!’ At that time I will plant a crop of Israelites and raise them for myself. I will show love to those I called ‘Not loved.’ And to those I called ‘Not my people,’ I will say, ‘Now you are my people.’ And they will reply, ‘You are our God!’””
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Looking forward to souls that will be planted and deep rooted in the truth this weekend. A new generation of people that will call on the Lord Jesus.

  18. 7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

We must know where our blessings come from. We are blessed of God when a man gives to you.
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
    Luke 6:38

  19. THY KINGDOM COME
    HOPE

15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

Fear through doubt, deceit, destruction is the hopeless message of our adversary. Love, Peace and JOY is the message of HOPE for The Kingdom of GOD. As the Prophet Hosea describes and defines the challenges of chaos in his family and life. We find a Door of HOPE in the midst of chaos.

Achor – trouble, disturbance; the valley of trouble where Achan and his family were judged, stoned and burnt for rebellion against the WORD of GOD.

The LORD is speaking to us today, that in the valley of Achor there is a Door of HOPE. Speaking to us today that regardless of the depth of our trouble, JESUS is the Door of HOPE.

As we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD we find HOPE in people and places that we didn’t imagine. Lets be HOPE dealers today, sharing the HOPE of JESUS in a world filled with trouble.

  20. 23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

Amen! The Lord despite everything still has mercy upon us. Many people think that their not worth being forgive by God but the Lord is willing with an open heart to just call us His children and have mercy upon us. Praying and believing for the souls that will come this and next weekend shall truly repent and say He is My God!!! Believing that souls will turn to God,trust in Him, and experience the miracle they have been waiting for.

  21. 20 “And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness. Then you will know the LORD.”

Faithfulness- is one of the most important words in the vocabulary of mankind yet it is also one of the most neglected responsibilities of man. Unfaithfulness is one of the most destructive weapons of the enemy and a marriage relationship.

I believe the faithfulness referred to in this verse is not just from God to us but it also extends from us to God. We put a great emphasis on winning souls or new babes in Christ and we should. It should be a top priority when we are walking and living for God but we must also put a great emphasis on winning ourselves and staying faithful to the relationship we have with God. We must save ourselves and then bring as many in as we can.

Statistically speaking after a couples children leave home.

“The sad fact is however, that having been together for many years lots of couples separate or get divorced when the children leave home. They realise that they have nothing left in common and have only stayed together for the children’s sake. Many didn’t even realise how far apart they become until the children had left.”

I say this because we can do all we can in the Kingdom of God bu if we neglect our relationship with God we will lose out in the end. God is faithful to His word and if we call on His name He will answer our prayers. He is faithful to his promises that its not His will that any man perish. So, if we talk to others and lead them to Him He will do the word in their lives for them to be saved. Saving people is not our responsiblity it is Gods. Our responsiblity is to be a light that leads them to Him.

So, I said all that to say that in the process of working for the Kingdom do not neglect the effort and work it takes to keep yourself saved. Do not neglect prayer, fasting, and worship. Make God your top priority and stay in love with Him through it all.

  22. 16 “It shall come about in that day,” says the Lord,
“That you will call Me Ishi (my husband)
And will no longer call Me Baali (my [a]Baal). AMP

Ishi is a compellation of love, and sweetness, and familiarity, Baali of reverence and subjection.

When the “Have To” becomes a “Want To”.

When you do something out of “have to” its typically not full-hearted, nor do you particularly care about the outcome. However, when we do it out of “want to” we are eager to work on it, we desire for a positive outcome.

These next couple of weeks it will be easy to fall into a “have to” mindset, however, if we can refrain and maintain a “want to” mindset for these upcoming events we will be working in love and not subjection.

  23. 18 And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.

19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

  24. She will pursue her lovers but not catch them; she will seek them but not find them. Then she will think, “I will go back to my former husband, for then it was better for me than now.” She does not recognize that it is I who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil. I lavished silver and gold on her, which they used for Baal. And I will punish her for the days of the Baals when she burned incense to them, put on her rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers, but forgot Me. This is the Lord ’s declaration.
    Hosea 2:7‭-‬8‭, ‬13 HCSB

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord , that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali. For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord .
    Hosea 2:15‭-‬17‭, ‬20 KJV

This chapter is discussing the unfaithfulness of Israel and how they failed to recognize that it was Jehovah God who was their benefactor, provider, and protector (i.e., husband). They had begun to attribute to the Canaanite god, Baal, the loving gifts that Jehovah had given them (the grain, wine, oil, silver, gold, etc.), and instead of worshipping God, they had turned to worshipping Baal. God is stating in this chapter that He is Israel’s true husband and He will woo her back to Himself.

The words ‘ishi’ and ‘baali’ are both salutatory synonyms by which one could call their husband, and both of which are used in Scripture to refer to Jehovah God as Israel’s husband (see Isa. 54:5 and Jer. 31:32). However, by the time of Hosea, the term ‘baal’ (perhaps because of its other meanings of ‘master’ and ‘lord’) had become almost exclusively used as the name of the Canaanite false god whom the Israelites were now worshipping instead of Jehovah, and use of the term reminded God of the people’s infidelity. Thus, God tells the people that He will remove this word from their mouths. They shall now call Him ‘Husband’ by using the word ‘Ishi’ and never again attribute (even by the association that comes with using certain terms) His goodness to anyone or anything else.

We need to recognize and proclaim the goodness of our God. We need to be thankful unto Him and bless His name. We need to stop attributing His gifts to our own hard work, to fate, to mother nature, etc. We must stop taking His goodness for granted and recognize Him as the loving Husband He has been and continues to be to us. God, alone, is worthy of our praise, adoration, and affection. Let us give Him the honor due a husband and the glory due His name.

    • Might I add, we need to remove from our hearts, our lives, and our mouths everything that reminds us and others of our former infidelities.
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
      1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV

  25. 1 Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.

This verse just caught my attention with Ammi and Ruhamah. When I looked up Ammi I found that it means people. As nation or tribe collectively. And Ruhamah means mercy and compassion with love. So tell your brothers you are together. We are Pentecostals, one nation, and one group. Telling your brothers Ammi builds unity, just as patriotism binds nations together. Ammi binds people together in unity. May unity stay and grow so his kingdom can stay and grow, for a house divided against its self can not stand.

  26. For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

When the mother said I will go after my lovers that give me bread, water, wool, flax, oil and drink she must have doubted that God would provide all of these material needs and felt the need to give allegience to her “lovers” instead. We do the same when we doubt God can meet our needs and we begin to make MONEY OUR GOD by idolizing it and giving allegiance to it. We need to always believe God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory and that as we seek FIRST HIS KINGDOM He will make provision for all of our needs and all these things will be added unto us. Never never never allow money to become your focus….it will slip in gradually until it becomes an idol. Trust God, believe His Word and His promises always.

  27. AMP – 14 “Therefore, behold, I will allure Israel
And bring her into the wilderness,
And I will speak tenderly to her [to reconcile her to Me].
15 “Then I will give her her vineyards from there,
And make the Valley of Achor a door of hope and expectation [anticipating the time when I will restore My favor on her].
And she will sing there and respond as in the days of her youth
As in the day when she came up from the land of Egypt

I believe the day of restoration is at hand for those who have left the favor and grace of God and relationship with Him, to go whoring for things of this world to satisfy the carnal flesh.

As we have been praying and speaking that people are going to be led by the Spirit of God to our upcoming revivals, I believe the Spirit of God is going to allure them to the place where His Spirit can minister to their need and they can be made whole, new creatures in Christ. The time of harvest is now — GET READY POFW!

  28. “She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has— the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Everything we have is because of God. But how many times have we took credit for the gifts He has given us? How many times have we took His blessings for granted? Do we take His blessings and use it to bless and glorify Him or ourselves?

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything You gave me” – Erma Bombeck

We mustn’t give our gifts to this world, but use everything He has given us to in turn bless His name!!

  29. 8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
20 I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

Wow God gave the people corn, wine, oil etc. in order to bless them. Because of the love God had for them and instead of them appreciating it and valuing it they took what God had given them and prepared it for a idol. Nonetheless God said in vs 20 that he will betroth or marry them unto himself and that he will make himself known to them. That’s the kind of God of mercy and grace that we serve and thats what God desires for all His people.

  30. 13 And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the Lord.

  31. I always tell myself and my friends don’t forget about God . because if you do you will be judged by him . but if u shall stay with him he will not punish you. If you fall he will pick you up . Thank God for a merciful God.

  32. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord .
    Hosea 2:19‭-‬20 KJV

Glory to GOD in the highest!!!!!
It was His love that drew me. When I was living a life of sin, His mercy stood in front of me and embraced me, protecting me from the gates of hell!!! I will not allow the enemy to steal my song. ‘If it wasn’t for the LORD, where would I be?’

  33. 19-20 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord.

  34. Hosea 2:23 MSG
I’ll plant her in the good earth. I’ll have mercy on No Mercy. I’ll say to Nobody, ‘You’re my dear Somebody; and he’ll say ‘You’re my God!”

Amos 9:15 And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.

Romans 9:25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them , Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

    Praise God for Mercy!

  35. “But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there. I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt.
    Hosea 2:14‭-‬15

    I couldn’t help to think on this verse;
1 Peter 4:8 above all, love each other deeply because love covers a multitude of sins.
It is through love that we are forgiven for Love himself gave His life for us. According to the gospel of John, God is love. It hopes all things, believes all things and seeks not it’s own. Oh that we may live God just as he loves us.

  36. Verse 2:2 God brought an indictment against Israel, the charge was adultury, a flagrant violation of the covenant of love. Gomer also better Hosea and offered her herself to those to who she did not belong. Hosea’s personal experience of having an unfaithful wife enabled him to understand in part God’s heartbreak over His unfaithful people.

  37. 23 then I will sow her for myself in the earth, and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained Mercy then I will say to those who were not my people You Are My People and they shall say you are my God.

  38. 23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.

  39. [Hos 2:5-8 NLT] 5 Their mother is a shameless prostitute and became pregnant in a shameful way. She said, ‘I’ll run after other lovers and sell myself to them for food and water, for clothing of wool and linen, and for olive oil and drinks.’ 6 “For this reason I will fence her in with thornbushes. I will block her path with a wall to make her lose her way. 7 When she runs after her lovers, she won’t be able to catch them. She will search for them but not find them. Then she will think, ‘I might as well return to my husband, for I was better off with him than I am now.’ 8 She doesn’t realize it was I who gave her everything she has–the grain, the new wine, the olive oil; I even gave her silver and gold. But she gave all my gifts to Baal.

We see God at work even when His people turn from Him and do shameful things, He is at work to fence them in, block our paths and place a wall there to stop them from sinning further. We have a merciful God who goes to great lengths to save us and keep us saved! He is trying to get us and all people to see He is our source of all bessing, all good, all of the love in our lives!

  40. 2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

This is the relationship between the church and God. When the church looses focus on its main purpose and goes after the wrong things. Some say that when churches get focused on money instead of reaching the lost…. it takes money to reach the lost., so money is not the mistake. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil, not money. We have to keep our love focused on the things HE loves. This will put us in position to be his bride. Anything else is concidered adultry.

  41. Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’ ”
    Hosea 2:23 NKJV

Even though originally we were not His people but he gave His life for us so that we would have the privilege to be His people. That’s why today we are able to call Him our God and go to Him any time we want.

  42. 5 For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

Too often we can get caught up in the me,myself and I syndrome. However, this women here is constantly seeking her own pleasure. She looks only for what benefits her in some fleshlike manner. She’ll do what she must with little commitment, once she gets what she wants she’ll leave. She is constantly looking for many lovers to satisfy that never can. The only thing that can quench the whole within her is the very love she runs away from.

We can look at the church the same way but in a more righteous manner of course. She is the mother of us spiritually. Jesus is coming back for her as his bride without spot or blemish. This is why we must live separated and commited lives away from the whoredome mentality. We cannot be satisfied by the things of this life for they are soon to perish.

  43. 7 And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

8 For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.

  44. ““And now, here’s what I’m going to do: I’m going to start all over again. I’m taking her back out into the wilderness where we had our first date, and I’ll court her. I’ll give her bouquets of roses. I’ll turn Heartbreak Valley into Acres of Hope. She’ll respond like she did as a young girl, those days when she was fresh out of Egypt.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2:14-15‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Going back to square one
Starting over isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes when things get to be too much people loose their Reasons that they did something. In these places we must start over. Remember their vision. Fall in love all over again. Go back to the beginning so they can reestablish why they began in he first place.

  45. Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah.

    2 Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

3 Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.

4 And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.

5 For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.

This chapter continues the figurative address to Israel, in reference to Hosea’s wife and children. Let us own and love as brethren, all whom the Lord seems to put among his children, and encourage them in that they have received mercy. But every Christian, by his example and conduct, must protest against evil and abuses, even among those to whom he belongs and owes respect. Impenitent sinners will soon be stripped of the advantages they misuse, and which they consume upon their lusts.

  46. 6“For this reason I will fence her in with thornbushes.

The consequences of sin is very painful. Once you’re exposed, guilt and shame comes. Eventually sin brings death, so be righteous and live for God.
