Hosea 3

Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

  1. This chapter in the MSG is captioned “In Time They’ll Come Back”. Verse 5 AMP says “Afterward the sons of Israel will return [in deep repentance] and seek the Lord their God and [seek from the line of] David their king [the King of kings—the Messiah]; and they will come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness and blessing in the last days.” Many in these last days will be coming back/home as God’s love offers hope (as captioned in the CEV). As Sis. Watts told us yesterday in her blog, “get ready POFW”:

People get ready Jesus is comin
    Soon we’ll be going home
People get ready Jesus is coming
To take from the world His own

  2. 3:5 afterward she the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their King, and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.
    ————
A convicted repented heart again, they will experience And acknowledge God’s love, mercy, in such a way!
    Praise God!!!

  3. 1 Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

Not is this story an example of God’s love for Israel, it shows the trust God has in Hosea. Trusting God enough to marry a prostitute, knowing she will be unfaithful and that you will have to pay to get her back…takes more devotion to God then just faith. God’s trust in Hosea to do that and Hosea obedience and love for God surpassed so much more than we know. What can God trust you with?

  4. Hosea 3:5 (English Amp) Afterward shall the children of Israel return and seek the Lord their God [ inquiring of and requiring him] and ( from the line of) David, their King [ of kings] ; and they shall come in ( anxious) fear to the Lord and to His goodness and His good things in the latter days. Jeremiah 30 : 9 But they will serve the Lord their God and David’s [ descendant] their King, Whom I will raise up for them. Jesus is the only King of Kings and Lord of Lord’s I will serve. There no other God.

  5. 5. And afterward, once their devotion is renewed, they’ll return and genuinely worship the Eternal their God, and they’ll end their rebellion against the royal house of David. In those days they’ll come trembling to the Eternal One and rediscover His goodness. Voice

We’ve been praying for them and they’re coming back!

  6. Then God ordered me, “Start all over: Love your wife again, your wife who’s in bed with her latest boyfriend, your cheating wife. Love her the way I, God , love the Israelite people, even as they flirt and party with every god that takes their fancy.”
    Hosea 3:1 MSG
    ‘Start all over again
We truly serve a merciful GOD!!!! When we/backsliding children understand his love for His people our purpose will no longer be to serve the desires of our flesh, but in return to serve in His KINGDOM. Love will in fact cover the multitude of our sins.
Jesus thank you for the blood you shed on Calvary for me. I embrace your love and your salvation you have given me.

  7. 5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

When the Lord sends you to GO like He did in verse one of thus chapter, it’s always for a purpose, usually greater than we can see. Be obedient to the voice of God and GO as He commands, the salvation of souls could be at hand, waiting just on the other side – but your obedience determines their day of salvation. Can God trust you to GO?

  8. This shows that Israel will go a long time without a king or prince, and without sacrifices, sacred pillars, priests, or even idols! But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God and to David’s descendant, their king. In the last days, they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.
    Hosea 3:4‭-‬5 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/hos.3.4-5.NLT

This is an affirmation that those that have gone astray from His kingdom and left His way is just for a season. They will return! Which is why we must continue to pray for this lost world and the prodigal because the word says ” They will return”.
Thank you Jesus for the prodigals that will be returning home. Lets be ready to receive them!

  9. Then the Lord said to me, “GO ans love your wife again, even though
she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate
that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have
turned to other gods and love to worship them.”
    HOSEA 3:1 NLT

We serve a merciful GOD! Regardless of our poor decisions he desires a relationship with us.

  10. 5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days

I pray for every backslider to return . In Jesus Name.
Give us wisdom how to love them and lead them back to You Jesus.
Help us to be like You Lord in Jesus Name. For the Kingdom.

  11. iLove the Kingdom
“Then the Lord said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them. ””
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Wow, God‘s unfailing love is so amazing. What a relationship that we have in Jesus, although it’s kind of sad the way we treat him after he gave everything to redeem us from the law of sin and death. When we half heartedly worship him, half heartedly Serve him, halfheartedly pull weeds, Half heartedly pay our sacrifices, half heartedly time, halfheartedly attend worship service, we are acting like a prostitute. Lord Jesus redeem us from Not giving our best

  12. “And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee. For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭3:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Praise God everybody look what God has Hosea do. He said Go get your wife and pay for her, tell her thou shalt not play the harlot and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

This is huge considering how much faithfulness means to God but it’s a great example to show Hods love for his people.
You live for God whole heartedly you’re gonna expect a whole hearted relationship with Jesus! Our relationship with God comes first absolutely NO negotiating. Let’s Go today building and restoring that lost time we haven’t been spending with God.
    Prayer!
    Blogging/Reading the Word
    Outreach
    Witnessing
    Fasting
All of this helps but we have to turn the off switch back on and get our tail ends in gear.
iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  13. “So I bought her for myself for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley [the price of a common slave].”
    ‭‭HOSEA‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The scripture reminds me of when Jesus was sold for silver and He willingly gave His life for us. He was treated like a common man but was the King of Kings. OH, what a loving King we have to have so much love, grace and mercy toward us.

“While we were still helpless [powerless to provide for our salvation], at the right time Christ died [as a substitute] for the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man [one who is noble and selfless and worthy] someone might even dare to die. But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
    ‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭5:6-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  14. 3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

  15. 1 Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

Our God is a God of second chances. He reaches for us even when we’ve shared our love for him with the wrong things (the things of this world). We will be so thankful when we realize the great love he has for us. This speaks to not only backsliders but to those who have strayed in the house. So thankful for a loving forgiving God!

  16. Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days. J.SOLIZ

  17. 3 Then the Lord said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.”

I couldn’t get past the statement:
“this will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned”.

We are blessed to worship the King who continues to love, even while doing the very thing that hurts Him. Don’t get twisted though, we still have consequences for our actions. The King is not one to be walked over or taken advantage of, He will Love and Forgive you, and at the same time correct the undesired behavior just like a good Father should.

  18. Verse 1:1
In Hosea 3 the prophet receives one profound command. He is told to go and reconcile with his wife, who remains in adulterous relationship. He is told to act, not react. He is to love Gomer rather than take revenge.
God calls us to live on higher level , we are called to respond as God Did to Israel. Although Israel had committed falsehood (Hos 4:1) Harlotry (4:11), murder ( 5:2), robbery (7:1) and oppression (12:7), along with repeated spiritual adultery, God continue to guide and empower His people.

Jesus lead us to do your will!!!

  19. Hosea 3:1 (NLT)
“Then the LORD said unto me, Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another man. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.”

    Ephesians 2:4-5
    4) But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
    5) Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved;)

Thank You JESUS that You’re Rich in MERCY, for Your Great LOVE, and for Your GRACE (for by GRACE we are saved through FAITH).

  20. 1 The Lord said to me, go show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is and adulterous. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes

  21. 5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

Those that have once lived for God and turned away, are returning and they’re coming back seeking God and His Kingdom like never before!

  22. THY KINGDOM COME
    RESTORATION

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:
3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

The Kingdom of GOD is about Mercy and Grace; without which none of us would have hope of salvation. The love, mercy and grace demonstrated here by the LORD JESUS through Hosea was to teach us how to forgive, love and restore.

I cannot understand people that call themselves christians, but hold a grudge against another soul. This is NOT a Kingdom principal. It makes no sense to me that a Holy Ghost filled believer can ignore another Holy Ghost filled believer.

If you both die and face judgement.

    “Which one will be saved?”

    Simple ANSWER:

“The ONE that REPENTED and was willing to FORGIVE”.

Lets prepare for the supernatural today by FIRST preparing our hearts, we must have REVIVAL in US.

    REPENT
    FORGIVE
    WORSHIP
    TELL OTHERS

The Kingdom of GOD is about RESTORATION and we learn from this chapter that if we will listen to and obey the voice of GOD we will deliver HOPE to our generation.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  23. I Love To Worship The Lord
    1-3
How difficult it was for Hosea and Gomer to feel comfortable with one another again. It also suggested in the paltry price paid by Hosea. Yet where there is commitment love can grow again and intimacy ultimately can be restored

  24. Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

We are in the latter days and are seeing the Jews being restored to their Holy Land. We see all of these prophecies coming to pass and we know the third temple is so close to being built and the sacrifices to being done again. We have so very little time left. Pray for the lost and the backslidden to be restored to God’s Kingdom….in Jesus name.

  25. Then the Lord said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them. ”
    Hosea 3:1 NLT
GOD still love even when we sin he still love he care for us thanks you Jesus for your grace

  26. GOD GOES AFTER SINNERS

Then the Lord said to me, “GO and love your wife again, EVEN THOUGH she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them. ” SO I BOUGHT HER BACK for fifteen pieces of silver and five bushels of barley and a measure of wine.
    Hosea 3:1‭-‬2 NLT

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
    Romans 5:6‭-‬11 KJV

Gomer was living in adultery. She wasn’t trying to do right or trying to make her way back. She didn’t come to Hosea and beg for another chance, and Hosea didn’t grudgingly allow her back in if she promised to be good enough. No, God commanded Hosea to go after Gomer while she was yet in sin. Hosea did the searching; Hosea did the bargaining; then, Hosea paid the full price for her redemption. Just as God has done for all of us.

We weren’t good when God sought us out. We weren’t even looking when He began His negotiations on our behalf. He bought us before we wanted Him, and then He drew us out of our messes unto His side. Paul says that if God loved us like that while we were in our sins, how much more should we be confident of and joy-filled now by His love and continuing grace and faithfulness to save us.

We are the bought back sinners, those whom God loved enough to pay the highest price for. Now, we are the ones to whom God says, “Go!” He sends us to sinners like ourselves, so that they, too, can be reconciled to God. We are not to turn away from them because of their deplorable condition or habits, or because they don’t seem to be trying to find God. We are to go after them and to plead with them on Christ’s behalf, so that they can have the joy we now have.

Everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.”
    2 Corinthians 5:18‭-‬20 HCSB

  27. MSG – The people of Israel are going to live a long time
    stripped of security and protection,
    without religion and comfort,
    godless and prayerless.
But in time they’ll come back, these Israelites,
come back looking for their God and their David-King.
They’ll come back chastened to reverence
before God and his good gifts, ready for the End of the story of his love.

The parallel of Hosea/Gomer and the Church/God is very interesting. This describes our world today, “without religion.” Everywhere you go people are all caught up in themselves, making money, building houses, buying and selling, sports, hobbies. Very few have their focus of the Kingdom. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, pray for those around us to desire a relationship with Him more than anything else, and be waiting with arms opened wide when they come looking for God!

  28. 4-5 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

Does absence make the heart grow fonder? It’s difficult to control our emotions. It’s difficult to predict exactly how distance will make us feel or how it will change our perspective in a situation or towards a person. It is sometimes difficult to know whether you will spend the majority of your days missing the other person or the majority of your days forgetting the other person.

Distance means it’s impossible to touch, smell, listen to or simply be in the presence of the other person whenever you want — all of which are ways we show affection. These are the reasons why a prayer life is essential. We have to spend time with God. We have to be in His presence or we may forget what it feels like and fill that void with other things and before long there will be no room Him.

  29. 1 Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for there

The dislike of men to true religion is because they love objects and forms, which allow them to indulge, instead of mortifying their lusts. How wonderful that a holy God should have good-will to those whose carnal mind is enmity against Him! Here is represented God’s gracious dealings with the fallen race of mankind, that had gone from him. This is the covenant of grace he is willing to enter into with them, they must be to him a people, and he will be to them a God. They must accept the punishment of their sin, and must not return to folly. And it is a certain sign that our afflictions are means of good to us, when we are kept from being overcome by the temptations of an afflicted state.

  30. yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, according to the love of the Lord toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

  31. 5. And afterward, once their devotion is renewed, they’ll return and genuinely worship the Eternal their God, and they’ll end their rebellion against the royal house of David. In those days they’ll come trembling to the Eternal One and rediscover His goodness.

This is Gods prayer and the churches prayer. We are to love those who have backslid and walked away from God.. He desires them to come back to their senses and repent so that he can save, deliver and heal their lives.

  32. 5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall fear the Lord and his goodness in the latter days.

We are living in the latter days. So we can look at this as a commandment for us. to seek after him and fear him. He is all that we will ever need.

  33. 1Then the LORD said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though shea commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.”

This is the ultimate test of forgiveness. How would be able to forgive their spouse after an act of adultry? Unfaithfulness? To go along with the lying of keeping it a secret?

But God tells us to forgive one another, but it’s not a free pass to commit sin against your spouse. There’s still pain one will suffer through, and the loss of trust.

Time and time again the Lord Moves his people and is ready to forgive. But he requires faithfulness out of us. Not sharing our devotion to any other God. It’s time to give that same love and respect in faithfulness back to the Lord. For his love never ends.

  35. It would be so easy to just write about the live God has for us when we were sinners and He brought us out of the World but the reality is He is still displaying this same love towards us everyday. Think about it He calls us to a place in Him everyday. He give us breath and a new word every morning. We just have to be willing to be sensitive to Him and watchful for the movements He is speaking to us in our love language.

We were all sinners that have fallen short. Yet, to know to do good and do it not ia sin. So, everyday that we fail to show love or be light to the world around us God is giving us grace. He is leading us to not only find relationship with Him but also with others.

  36. 1 Then said the Lord unto me, Go yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress, ACCORDING TO THE LOVE OF THE LORD toward the children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.

If we love people, all people, according to the love of the Lord, He will be glorified!

[Hos 3:1 NLT] 1 Then the LORD said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.”

  37. 2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: so will I also be for thee.

We were bought with a price.

  38. The old adage
“ absence makes the heart grow fonder”

    Or

“ you never know how good you have it until it’s gone”

We have to embrace and be thankful of what God has done for us. Pastor said the other day” if God never does another thing for me, I am blessed. “

I’m not looking for any thing else. This is what I was looking for.

  39. I dont know much about love, but what I do know is if you really love someone and want to be their friend you will forgive and forgive in all cases. Jesus is a forgiving God because he cares. My God is a way maker and a God who will do anything for his people. In Jesus Name Amen.

  40. This shows God’s love for us. He adores us even when we don’t look to him. He seeks after us when all we want is to worship false gods by seeking aft lusts of the flesh like food, TV, and other things.

  41. Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. James 2:19

Coming from a Catholic home, my mom always showed me to fear God, she always told me that He took care of me, protected me, and loved me. I grew up knowing that God exsisted but never truly loved and feared Him like I do now. God has been so good to me that I’m in awe of His great mercy and blessings. I am so blessed to have broken the chains of idolatry of my life and my children and my childrens children’s life.

  42. This image of Hosea’s wife is often used in analogy to what God is willing to do for his people. A prophet should have been forbidden even by association from a harlot, and yet he both rescued her in his purchase and even bound with her in marriage. It would appear unthinkable, and yet that is the love God displays for God people. He is willing to go to great lengths to redeem that which the world would declare have no value… and he does so while we were yet sinners!

An important distinction is made within this commandment as well. Hosea was to love her! So many struggle with the concept of God’s love towards them, yet the Bible declares he paid that sacrifice for the joy that was set before him. Hosea wasn’t asked to go through the motions to give us a typology… he was asked to love her, just as Christ loves his church. No greater love hath a man than this, that he would lay down his life for his friends!

  43. 4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:

God always desired a relationship with his people to be intimate and faithful to one another. Their is no question if God will be faithful to us because he will never leave us nor forsake us. Here Hosea shows us that the act of telling a spouse that their fidelity is important in a marriage is how God wants to be with us.
